I know this is an old post, but got a new floating screen single din jensen with RCA inputs - didnt want to spend $1000+ on some fancy top of the line unit for a $2500 grand Cherokee. In theory - if i got this setup, could i plug in a chromecast device to it, give the Chromecast onboard power, and use chromecast with a remote and give it hotspot internet from my phone and it work?

I recently just figured out that the Sony xav-AX8000, dose have a set video input, but dose have a rca connection for a back up camera, just lacks audio, if your radio dose have the set inputs see if it’s got a camera input, it worked flawlessly for my PS2

I have seen HDMI to USB converters but what I am not sure about whether they can put contents into the head unit or are they only for pushing contents from a USB source to a HDMI input.? Thanks

Hello, my vehicle already has an HDMI cable input but don’t have sound from speakers what do I need to do to achieve sound? I plug my hdmi cable in and plug it to my iPhone and I can see everything on screen from phone but just have no sound. Can you please help?

Bought the exact same items you demonstrated with. Attempted to install them on my 2017 Chevy. Silverado 2500HD. Key word, Attempted. Ended up buying a competitors brand with a USB cord for power and HDMI to Composite module. Worked fine and it was $21.00 at Frys. Old Skool HDMI to AV converter. Was I missing something with the isimple ishd01 ?

We have a garage audio install setup on the channel. Just find that playlist and it walks you though the process.

Didn’t work for me. Kenwood ddx9707. Did use the KENWOOD adapter. Worked for a few minutes then stopped. Maybe a bad cable somewhere. Bad buzzing sound when it did work.
Do it include the HDMI signal decryptor? It can project protected content? Thats the main problem of HDMI to RCA analog cables.

I have a android phone and followed your process minus the lightning device substituted it with liked item for android. Nothing is still coming on. No mirroring. Do this need a power source to activate?
Many older androids don't support HDMI output through the USB port, it needs to have a type c port to work, and even then some phones just flat out don't do it.

My JVC has a HDMI plug- in on the back of it... so I have the HDMI adapter that goes from phone to unit, but it still won't mirror...🤷

Sounds like you have a ground loop issue. Just google ground loop isolator and that may help your situation.
Not sure if you’ll respond to this but I’ve used an HDMI converter to av to plug into head unit for game console. Picture Quality is low . How can I enhance the quality? Would I have to upgrade to a din that has HDMI port? Or would the ISHD01 converter have a cleaner signal?
Upgrading to a deck with hdmi would increase picture quality. Converters are going to look worse no matter what
Will there be a drop in resolution when using hdmi this way or will you get original head unit resolution? So in other words, would resolution for this unit (AVH-1300NEX) be 480, or would there be a drop? Thanks!
it would drop, probably to 480. i’m unsure how much it drops but i’m certain that it doesn’t retain the same quality as the rca isn’t able to keep the hdmi quality that transfers

Yes, and typically its going to be a 3.5mm to RCA adapter in addition to the parts we used. All kinda depends on the brand and model of the radio you have.

Hey so i installed per the directions in vid. When i click on AV on my radio it connects and disconnects and reconnects in 2 second intervals. Any ideas? Radio is a boss bcpa10 and car is a 2012 nissan altima. Ground solid and radio works fine besides this.

you would need the HDMI to USBc and it would work, yes. We used the lightning to HDMI since we were using an iPhone for demonstration.

Hi! I believe so. I'm gonna try hooking up my Android *Galaxy* *S8+* to the iSimple HDMI Cable with my USB-c 2 HDMI Dongle (which I already use inside the house). Will definitely need the small male 2 male joiner adapter. I also wish to try an unorthodox clever method using my *Chromecast* Dongle.
What if, after I pull out my *Pioneer* AVH-7800-bt Car Radio and install the iSimple Cable, I hook up a Chromecast Dongle to the HDMI end? This way, I should easily be able to Mirror my Phone Screen or Cast UA-cam Videos all day long. Would definitely free up my phone's USB-C port to get a decent charge going from the cigarette lighter.
Next, when I'm getting busy in a Burger King Parking Lot (on a lunch break), I will try to bluetooth my mouse & keyboard and switch back to an *HDMI* connection to see if my Android Pie Version Phone will activate *DEX* .

I believe samsung did something cool to their new phones from galaxy 6 and up, it is the wireless screen casting/mirroring. You will only need a little device that’ll works wirelessly with your galaxy s7
@@akboo1019 Its pretty hit and miss. I have a S9 and its aggravating and known to have some connection issues. Best to try to go OTG or Aux/AV adapter. Ive been looking into trying DeX and Rock Scout. Rock Scout claims to be a software that should in theory allow you to turn the phone screen off and still show the screen on the unit and be able to use the touch screen on the unit. I'll know when my adapters and parts get here but I'm going to try it out. Id like to be able to control my phone right from the unit since I'm in a single cab ranger anyhow

Depends on the radio, but usually no - this just connects to an AV input, not the backup camera input.
I’m trying to attempt this, order the hdmi adapter 3 weeks ago, I didn’t get it in the mail yet. Guess cause of the holidays. I’m traveling right know and saw an hdmi adapter for $7 bucks and bought it, but it didn’t work👎

Neither, this specific unit doesn't require any power source. Generally the only power it may need pulls from the HDMI port of your device.

Can this pull power directly from the rca ports of the stereo once the stereo is turned on? Or can I run a 2 headed usb cable and connect it to the usb port in the stereo and run 1 cable for my car play and the other to just run power to the hdmi port

My pioneer message keeps popping up and doesn’t allow me to view anything. I have a bypass switch set up but still nothing, even when I mess with the hand brake. DVDs work fine but not the av connection. Any ideas?

Any HDMI input works, however if your unit draws any current from the HDMI source, you will need to connect that power into a separate source (sometimes a USB port)
Jean Santiago or a chromecast, that way you can stream wirelessly.

Any screen, monitor, or radio with an RCA Video / Audio Inputs will work just fine.

Not necessarily, it may be due to settings on the radio too. As long as it has an AV input, this cable will indeed work.
Why not use components so you get HD video instead of maybe 480p with those standard definition RCA’s
This tutorial is for radios that do not supply a true HDMI input.

Yes. Your backup camera should be plugged into the Camera input not the AUX Video input.
Kinda cool, but the head unit screen is only marginally bigger than the phone's screen, so limited benefit

Because the Video input on your model is not an input, it's a video output. Your AV video input is integrated into the 3.5mm Aux input on the back of the radio.
