Thanks for the kind words! I think to throw to the cut off you press R1 and it should go to them or if you hold it whilst throwing the player will move to try and cut it off.

You'll need to get a higher reputation I think so you can get more scouting opportunities throughout the year, then make sure to scout pitchers or any other positions you have a low amount of players for.
What type of gameplay are you using, tactical, team or field? If it's team or field you'll have to make sure you score as many runs as possible while you have control to try and get a big enough lead. Unfortunately there are just some games you won't win due to your team's level no matter how well you play. Getting and training a good pitcher that can throw well is usually the main thing I aim for.
Is it possible to play with the directional batting system instead of PCI in this mode? I changed the settings around but when you choose Easy, Medium or Hard, you can’t change the hitting or ball settings
Unfortunately I don't think so. When you select a difficulty it sets preset levels and controls based on how easy, normal or hard you've chosen. I just tried all 3 difficulties but was unable to make any changes.

One of the questions this week was about features you'd like to see added to this mode, it might be worth taking part and asking for the ability to change control types. You'll also get some VP and items just for completing it so they're always worth doing.
I made each one them as overlays for this video so it's easier to see what button is what as there's no in game way of changing it to English unfortunately.

I don't think you can unfortunately, I haven't seen an option to edit the settings aside from choosing a difficulty when selecting it.
