Even if they insisted on ending the Zamasu arc that way, there was a much better way to resolve it for Trunks: Leave him stranded in the past. With the Tournament of Power arc following it, they could have brought Trunks in for the U7 team and he would have a powerful motivation: win the wish on the universal Dragon Balls to restore his timeline. 17 could even still win, and his broad wish arguably would restore his universe anyway, adding an extra feel good moment for him and Mai in the epilogue.
This, at least have Trunks be a bitter, beaten character who sticks around to prevent another timeline from being erased. The ending was just a deus ex machina ridden series of enforced downers with no interesting consequences.
@@KaiserMattTygore927 Except they didn't play them as downers, they just blitz by all the horrible connotations of trunks/mai's new existence as weird doppelgangers in some other timeline. Yay! We won! Vegeta gave trunks a thumbs up! Isn't that awesome! Don't think too hard about how we totally lost and now some of are heroes are going off to live a new miserable existence. Happy!
I'd like to add one moment to your list: when Piccolo destroys the entrance to the Room of Spirit and Time, trapping himself with Gotenks and Buu. It's such a brilliant decision and sets up an interesting dilemma, but we never get to see it play out because Buu just immediately resolves the issue.
I mean you could do a whole list just on the section of the show between when fat buu splits into two until when kid buu arrives. It's just a big span of bad decisions and easily the worst part of DBZ.
@Lee It was another case of big power levels solving everything. It's lame when that's the only thing that matters in a battle shonen. A big part of martial arts and how early DB was was that strength isn't everything. Techniques, experience, and skills mattered too. But come DBZ and even late DB, and the theme shifts to the only thing that really matters is a bigger battle number. It doesn't matter that Piccolo and Goku are better martial artists with abilities and skills that Raditz lacked. Raditz has a bigger number, so he automatically is impossible for them to beat. Sure, they eventually beat him with the makkankosappo, but that was like the last time a technique won out over Power Levels. And even then, the Makkankopotomus only worked because it gave Piccolo a higher Power Level in that moment. It wasn't like it was more effective due to being a ki drill attack that could penetrate his high defense stat or something. It was straight up making his Power Level bigger than Raditz's. Techniques like the Kienzan and Taioken should be immensely helpful at having weaker fighters overcome stronger ones, but they never work, because number not big enough. It's not even like they consider other stats either. All stats, Strength, Speed, Defense, Stamina, etc. are just all condensed into a single number that determines every single battle, and it's soooo lame. There isn't a case of Piccolo having less strength than Frieza but being faster than him so he can outmaneuver him. Nope, bigger number means he has to be faster, which makes Burter's "fastest in the universe" thing make no sense at all. Even to his limited knowledge, he's nowhere close to the highest power level guy, and therefore there's no way he could believe himself to be the fastest. And Buu screaming his way out of another dimension only "makes sense" because DB established this whole "power solves everything" precedent long before.
@@ShadeSlayer1911 Seeing how Buu is a magical being he should have known a spell to magic himself out of there which would leave Gotenks and Piccolo being stuck there it would have given some weight to the scene to see them make a technique up to get them out of there, maybe it could be somewhat reoccurring like Instant Transmission with the drawback of having a casting time or maybe have an immense power drain. It would bypass the pitfall of "strength is all that matters" most battle shonen fall into and it would make Gotanks and Piccolo a bit more unique and useful.
you know, that's actually got me thinking; what exactly is the inter-personal dynamic between Chi-chi and Vegeta? like, what do those two think of each other or what is their standing of the other? I can't remember a single significant moment where the two interacted with each other
Fun fact: Goku didnt actually intend on summoning Zeno with that device, he simply forgot which side held the Muffin Button when he was feeling hungry after the battle
I think the Ultra-Divine Water kind of works on a couple levels. On one hand, it isn't a 'free' power-up, it's a test of endurance against the one drinking it. Endurance isn't the 'sexiest' form of power on its own merits, you really kind of have to work to make it feel meaningful, and that's arguably not handled well. With the exception of the Super Saiyan God power, though, this is the closest Goku ever gets to being 'given' power without traditionally 'working' for it; the fact that he does at least have to *suffer* for it is not nothing. On the other hand, this could also have been built up as the origin, or galvanization, of Goku's feelings about 'free power'. Like, he was entirely willing to get free power from the Divine Water the first time, before he knew 'the real power-up was the journey to get it', which certainly lays the groundwork for a deeper respect for personal effort over quick solutions. In theory, the Ultra-Divine Water was taking the other angle of it, but more literally, "You aren't strong enough to beat him. In order to do so, you've got to swallow the one thing most bitter for a warrior - your *pride*." In this formulation, Goku would never really feel comfortable about what he had to do to beat King Piccolo, but he'd accept that he had to do what he had to do, because it was the *world* at stake, not just 'fighting a strong guy'. It would temper his resolve to never need to resort to an easy cop-out again, which is one driver as to why he never really *stops* training from then on out, if he can help it. He never wants to need to resort to that again... only to end up backed into a corner for it with Super Saiyan God much later. If this angle was the intention, or result, it certainly could have been put on better display, and made clearer as a theme, more as something to read into things.
The inclusion of the Zamasu ending brought me back to your first discussion about the back then unknown Trunks new transformation and how I arrived at your channel looking for info. Time flies!! Thanks for your content 6 years later
This is one reason I enjoyed "The Garlic Jr Saga, yeah it had its issues, but it showed the side characters can win without Goku and/or Vegeta getting involved! Darn shame it took until Super Hero to for them to realize "OH, WE CAN ACTUALLY HAVE THE SIDE CHARACTERS IN A BATTLE AND WIN WITHOUT GOKU AND VEGETA'S HELP!" As for what's going on currently with the manga, I'm actually liking what I'm seeing for the most part! Yeah, the whole "Trunks being afraid of ghosts and not knowing about computers" was a bit overkill and the panel where he got roasted by Bulma after Bulla fixed the computer was, as I commented on your Chapter 89 review, pretty savage, I mean DANG, they didn't need to go that hard on guy!
@@Eric6761 I totally get what you're saying, it's just there's people out that will read that and go "Really?! The guy literally grew up around technology!" and so on. Plus the fact he basically got "shown up" by his 3 year old sister might rub some people the wrong way. Don't get me wrong, I love they're showing Bulla's smarts and I hope they can build on her character moving forward, it's just Bulma's reaction I thought was a bit much, I mean, when Geekdom showed the translated panel on his video, I was like, "dang, that was a bit harsh!"

You mentioning Super Buu reminded me of this moment in the Portuguese dub, when he does a little dance, while singing an altered version of a Portuguese song. "Continuas chamando-me assim Buubuu"
I loved Trunks going back and taking out 17,18 and Cell. I was on feet, cheering, the first time I watched it. And it was my favorite episodes for a while.
Hm, fair and valid points and opinions, i can fully see where you were coming from with these and I could even agree with you, It’s to bad these moments happened the way they did, I hope we’ll at least get less of these as time goes on, But that doesn’t seem very likely, does it? I guess we’ll see.
I probably prefer how the Future Babidi saga played out in DBZ Kakarot ngl, maybe its because it was told fully 100% instead of just a mention compared to Super, but having Trunks unlock SSJ2 only during the fight and before that being on the backpedal against Dabura really raised the stakes a bit
These are some solid choices but I'd give the Cell Saga ending a pass. It helped setup that feeling of hopelessness and gave Vegeta a chance to be helpful. You make solid points though and I love that you correct these issues in What Ifs!
What I don't like about DBS Future Trunks arc is that they took my boy Trunks and traumatized him even further by destroying what was left of his future, his mother and comrades are gone. And yes he is now an imposter in a weird other timeline. Like what? That's literally the worst ending of a character. I remember when I heard about the return of Future Trunks such an amazing concept to see this character back. But man, I can't forgive what they did. I don't think I could rewatch that arc without thinking of that awful ending.
In regards to introducing Kami early in the King Piccolo Arc, Goku mentioned in DBZ that he trained in the Room of Spirit and time when he was younger' but he couldn't handle more than a month in the room. Kami and The Room could be introduced early by having Korin introduce Goku to Kami instead of offering the Ultra Divine Water. Goku runs into Popo first instead, and the latter doesn't think Goku is ready for tutelage under himself, much less Kami, but he compromises by letting Goku train in the room. Goku barely survives a months in the room and leaves, but the time he spent training in the harsh environment the room produces gives him the boost in power to take on King Piccolo.
@user-tp5yp2bv6z when you look at it like that yea it's not that bad, I just feel like vegeta should've gotten that W. But yea it dose help build buu as a threat
Vegeta not having at least a good fight against Frieza on Namek was dissapointing. After the whole built-up with them since the start of the arc with Vegeta learning about his planet and facing all of Frieza's goons, losing in such a humiliating manner was a waste of time. He should at least beat him up in his 3rd form. And then there's Resurrection F as well...
2:23 I think the reason that king Cold is taken out as quickly as he does, is so that it’s another marker for Trunk’s his character. He is not like Goku or Vegeta. He’s not going to stay in there and let the villain power up. He’s going to take them out as fast as he can.
@@frasechico I agree with the sentiment about the female characters, with the exception of 18. She's not a martial artist and it makes sense for her to not train and to sit out things if Krillin and Marron aren't directly in danger.
Personally I think that if Future Trunks returns in DBS his extreme paranoia of the new timeline being destroyed should be explored. It could influence his decisions and make him take extreme actions that the other z fighters consider questionable. Maybe he could take an extreme action that could make him a villain.
@Alucard A La Carte Yeah lmao Trunks was pretty damn calm and happy for someone who just lost his ENTIRE TIMELINE, ALONG WITH EVERY SINGLE PERSON HE EVER CARED FOR EXCEPT MAI
Honestly, the frustrations with dragon ball seems to mainly focus around weird contrived moments and near character assassination and I find it odd that it's such a problem in the writing. For such a long running series, you'd think consistent character and narratives would be the norm but nope, you get the black arc, cell, even the tournament of power since Jiren had the opportunity to wipe out everyone with little effort but didn't specifically to "not waste his energy" As a matter of fact, it would be more consistent for his character to start running down the other contestants solo because he doesn't trust his team, he has the power to back up this mentality and yet he still never went for it
I can understand where you are coming from with the whole Trunks vs Frieza and King Cold thing, but I think it's perfect in setting up the Androids. I remember when I first watched it and was thinking to myself, 'He just took out Frieza and his father in no time and yet he's powerless against these Androids? How much stronger are they?' And the fact he felt the need to comeback in time to warn them in the first place. I felt it was really well done
the tournament in buu saga was rushed. I wanted to see who would win. goku coming back. I was all in for gohan to be mc with goku as support for an arc.
I agree. The Goku Black saga SHOULD have ended when Trunks sliced Goku Black with the Hope Sword. I Haaaaattteeee what happens after. Future Trunks and Mai deserved better.
They need to send Goku and Vegeta to universe 6 to meet the other Sayians and while doing this give the others some time to shine. Goten and Trunks could get picked up by the Galactic Patrol after the latter decides they need more "recruits" and this can give the two of them adventures in space where they can fight strong enemies by their power levels. Heck, I'm always trying to get her in on the adventures bring Marron along with the boys. This would then allow Gohan and Piccolo to be Earth's primary defenders and they can have some adventures of their own. That's 3 different stories that would give everyone involved chances to shine and it doesn't have to be Goku saves everyone
Yeah, there's pretty much always some kind of issue with series that leaves fans dissapointed. At least the dissapointing parts still tend to create ideas that the fans can play around with.
I feel like the rushed manga endings might not be a Toyotaro thing, but something with how the series is being managed. The last arc episodes in Super also crammed in the climax and epilogue all in one and I don't think that's a coincidence. I get the impression that episodes/chapters are allocated for that content instead of things developing naturally like they did in the original manga.
It's insane how long it's been since super ended (the anime). I was so excited to replicate my childhood routine of watching dragonball once a week, I completely ignored the whole zamasu ending being kind of a shun to trunks. Thinking back, i'm like "yeah thats a bit shoddy", but the memories super has given me lets me forgive even the most average moments!
The ultra divine water was deadly to someone who wasn't pure of heart, it wasn't because Goku was an alien that he resisted it. This is a reoccuring thing in Dragon Ball.
I actually quite enjoyed the Majin Buu arc, but my frustration came about when Kid Buu was introduced. I disliked how he went from a character that in my opinion was very intimidating and a fun villain to just this wild and crazy thing that barely speaks at all.
Kid Buu might not be as interesting a villain as OG Fat Buu or base Super Buu, but imo he was a breath of fresh air after all the time spent with the fused variants of Super Buu. He was at least a unique member of the DB rogue’s gallery, unlike the Perfect Cell wannabe of Buutenks/Buuhan
@@aryanbhattacharya4238 Moro was a static character the whole way through. He didn’t change his personality with his transformations. I know you’re referring to his character design looking like Perfect Cell but that’s not the topic here :P
On an unrelated topic, are you capable changing the thumbnail of a video after a release? I've seen this video in my suggestions with Frieza, Buu, and now Gohan.
Remember that precious mini saga of Goku&Krillin in DBS? That cool moment in which Krillin seemed to finally prove his worth in the upcoming tournament? Pepperidge Farm Lividly remembers.
I didn't mind a few of these, though I don't know how me being younger at the time factors in. I didn't mind getting to know the literal ins and outs of Buu and the Divine Water while an issue also kinda worked for me, but I saw these with only a small gap in between them, not the time frame they would have had originally. The Goku Black ending was certainly one of the most grating, I think my personal biggest disappointment would be Gotenks so far, especially as a Gotenks fan. You have me debating checking TotallyNotMark again, they managed to lose me in 1 instance in 1 video. Out of curiosity as this is something I never cared enough to look at, was it a DUBism or Anime only statement that the Future 17 and 18 are weaker than their "Present" counterparts? I ask because I wonder if that would also technically apply to Cell. (The one we got technically being somewhat weaker than its present version would have been if so)
The major issue behind the letdown of Super Boo was that it was around this time that Toriyama had decided Gohan couldn't be the main character, meaning all of the buildup to what should've been the final showdown meant little because Toriyama had to basically move the goalposts so Gohan couldn't finish things to allow Goku to come back and do it. This background info does make the decision make more sense, but doesn't change the fact that this portion of the arc was problematic. Personally, it would've been better had Toriyama just had Gohan finish the arc as originally intended, then had Goku come back for a short arc to finish the story.
My least favorite things in all of dragon ball will always be Frost's double subversion that isn't even a subversion because we expected it and the horrible Tingly back thing,I will never fully recover from that second one
The "tingly back thing" is just channeling Ki to a point in the back. I honestly hate that they had Cabba word it like that because "haha, Cabba's a dork!" since so many people take it as fact that you can just "tickle your back to get stronger" instead of doing exactly like the 7th Universe Saiyans did. The 6th Universe Saiyans, but most damningly Cabba end up with massively unnecessary hate because of that one line. I don't have a problem with them powering up through different means since they're a different Universe altogether, and even then, Cabba just told Caulifia how he felt his Ki was channeled as a Super Saiyan, but... this is like how everyone says that Buu's body most definitely has a weird atmosphere that caused them to unfuse instead of a more reasonable "You're not Supreme Kai, so it ain't permanent kids" revision we got in Super.
@@legendarycryptid2629 Honestly them powering up in a different way is good and I do think they should have a unique way of getting stronger, and yeah it is mostly because of how Cabba said it. Still they hopeful have if not should explain it isn't just a back tingle or even just had stated it isn't a back tingle at all,it could have avoided so much pointless misconception.
I mean, I liked the anticlimax of Trunks wiping out 17, 18 and Cell back in his Timeline, it called back to the opening of that arc in a way with how easily he dealt with Frieza and King Cold, only reversed with the main villains of that arc, I know it wasn't the same 17,18 and Cell of course, due to timelines etc, but still I liked it and gave some closure to Trunk's story... for the time being anyway.
Fun fact, Cell coming back annoyed me all the way back in 2001/2002 when it first aired on Toonami, that legitimately annoyed kid me even though Gohan's victory was great.
One thing they consistently do in Dragon Ball. When the good guys sacrifice themselves to take out their enemy it almost NEVER WORKS Chaotzu and Nappa Goku and Cell Vegeta and Buu
For me, one of the most disappointing moments in Dragon Ball Super was finding out that Vegito has a time limit. That was the one drawback of using the Potara earrings, that the fusion was permanent. Now what's the difference between Vegito and Gogeta? Their clothes? I mean, jeez. It's not like they had to commit to Vegito staying in that form forever. They already established that the Dragon Balls can separate permanent fusions. Just do that.
@@vando6679 they retconned the permanent portara fusions by saying that only immortals can’t separate. I think the idea is that mortals were never supposed to have access to the portara ear rings. Elder Kai being a Kai is immortal. So that’s why his fusion never ended and it worked out because Supreme Kai and Kibito didn’t separate until a wish was used to do so.
@@mikegates8993 In DBZ, it was suggested that Buu's digestion separated Vegito into Goku and Vegeta. DBS retconned that. Or it might have been both. Who knows?
I know that the studio was rushed and had to cut the ToP short, but the tease that the angels had something more going on was really annoying in hindsight. That along with the mention of Zalama early on and no payoff or further mention again.
I'd say the ending of the kid buu part where Goku meets this Uub kid, decides to leave his family and friends to train in Uubs village. What a kick in the balls that was to an ending......
For me, definitely introducing the concept of Skinny Buu right before the Tournament of Power, only to immediately put Buu into a coma right before the tournament starts. Like, seriously? I mean, I get that Buu would tip the scales quite a lot in their favour, but then why tantalize us with the foncept in the first place! Heck, imagine if another universe brought their own Buu, considering Buu is the physical manifestation of some magic force that likely exists in all universes? But no. Buu is, both figuratively and very literally, benched.
The Zamasu arc takes all the cake and then blinks it out of existence. Even though I think the manga handles the entire arc head, shoulders, and chest better than the anime (it's more grim, but it's less dissonant as the anime has Trunks save the final humans only to have them wiped out anyway...) the entire thing reeks of the writers being driven into a corner by their own story. While you can talk about the crass commercialism of the videogames/Heroes/Xenoverse stuff, I actually like the idea that Trunks and Mai get to do something besides live as horrible displaced doppelgangers.
Trunks giving a quick beat down to the Androids and Cell to me is the only way it should play out. He was already strong enough to take out Semi Perfect Cell (with a 17 that was stronger than his future counterpart) after his first time in the chamber. Not to mention Trunks had seen what a Perfect Cell could do, so it makes sense he’d want to stop any chance immediately
Quick complaint the goku black thing should've ended with Vegito v fused zamasu if they wanted Trunks to win then they should've kept it around his level but once they fused he should've stayed out of it. Rage is cool but actually dumb as hell, the spirit bomb sword is single handedly the worst thing in all of dragon ball period and im as bad as the ending was it was still better than whatever trunks was gonna have.
Gohan getting set up for main character status only to get swatted down by the writers in the Buu arc still hurts. Honestly all non Saiyan characters being relevant and even among them if they aren't Goku, they don't win. Its so tiring.
With the Super divine water didn't Tien Krillin chiaotzu and Yamcha all get it as well? Also went future trunks went back. Why did they show him going to geros lab because he knew the location, and what about future Android 16?
I said it before and I'll say it again, for the Goku black arc, they should have ended it with Zamasu being contained with the Evil containment wave, and Trunks should have gotten the Win against Goku Black either with SSJ Rage or the Spirit sword, or a combo of the two. Zamasu could have eventually broken free in a future arc, maybe rescued by the Zamasu of Future Cell's timeline or something and then you could have had fused Zamasu then.
Well at least in DBZ, characters trained or suffered physically and emotionally to achieve new forms, and we didn't have DUMB gimmicks like back tingles or wishes to even the playing field !!!!
Even though I'm a Piccolo fan, I actually liked the way he went down in the TOP. He got overconfident against Damon, and Dragon Ball always teaches us that overconfidence is a bad advisor - such as Gohan vs Super Boo or Vegeta vs Semi-Perfect Cell. Also, when and how else could he have gone down in a logical way? Against Aniraza maybe? Or maybe against Dyspo? Either way, there would still be problems, specially if he had only gone down against Dyspo.
It was the right place in the story for Piccolo to be eliminated, it’s just that in its execution his abilities weren’t respected by the writing staff. He should have been listening for his opponent but had it countered. He should have tried ledge-grabbing with his stretchy arms but had them sliced off. It’s pretty basic stuff when you’re plotting out a fight to account for characters’ abilities.
goku using the button to summon zeno always confused me. the zeno from his timeline gave it to him, so wouldn't he have summoned that one, and not the one from future trunks' timeline?
For the Goku Black saga, I am pretty sure the writers wanted it to end that way to establish that Zeno both had the power to destroy the entire multiverse, and is willing to do so if he deems it necessary, to help establish the potential stakes of the Tournament of Power later down the line as opposed to just being informed by a third party that Zeno can do this. That being said, I feel it would have been better if the situation reached the point where Zeno had to get involved not because of Zamasu lucking into the fact that his immortality let him fuse with the universe, but instead that story went down in a way where Zamasu outwitted the heroes. I feel like the story would have been stronger with the themes of a magical/fantastical arms race, where the heroes would bring back some underused or one-off trick, only for Zamasu and Goku Black to pull out a trick of their own that they collected in the decades, if not centuries, leading up to them executing their plan. Trunks uses the time machine to try get help from the main timeline, only for Goku Black to have already used the Time Ring to recruit another Zamasu, as well as to chase him back to the main timeline, Goku uses instant transmission to try to evade Zamasu and develop a plan, only for Zamasu to use the Kai Kai to chase him, a teleportation technique unique to the gods and basically better than Instant Transmission in every way, Goku and Vegito fuse to try and beat their enemies with overwhelming power, only for Black and Vegito to fuse as well, and their fusion doesn't have a time limit to impede them, etc. This climaxes with Trunks destroying Fused Zamasu, only for it to be revealed that Zamasu had a contingency plan in case of his death, as while his mind and soul has been destroyed, the purple mutated flesh his body was turning into remains, and is now being guided by the dredges of Zamasu endless hatred of mortals to try and spread as much as possible, to until it consumes and destroys the entire multiverse. With the heroes having no way to stop the spread of the flesh in time, this is when Zeno enters the picture to destroy the timeline as a preventive measures to remove the potential of it spreading to other timelines. This, as well as Trunks sticking around for the Tournament of Power to try and use the Super Dragonballs to restore his timeline, would have done a lot to address the biggest flaws of the Goku Black arc in my opinion.
@@MasakoX I could tell how much of a corner they wrote themselves into when one of the arc's main villains had to be immortal and one of the most effective means they had of getting him out of the way (the Evil Containment Wave) had to end up being a waste because they couldn't have Goku remember to bring that darn seal.
Honestly, I had forgotten piccolo getting knocked out. Also, I feel like it’s a over exaggeration. It’s not really regularly talked about or brought up. To me, it felt like piccolo’s reputation was just… stagnant. Since the end of Z. I agree that super hero did boost it, but the tournament in no way caused semi-permanent damage. Also, (more of a argument for why piccolo couldn’t grab back on with his arms, not a excuse for why he’s out), piccolo fell on his back side, how would he possibly grab the ring?
Replacing Buu with Frieza for the Tournament of power always pissed me off and it's something I NEVER forgave the show for. If it was Cell, then I would've let it slide. Hell, I probably would've been hyped, but letting Buu's training go to waste by making him oversleep and replacing his slot with Frieza?! Unacceptable.
I forgave every just about a every fault dragon ball had, I genuinely enjoyed its quircks, even Gotenks gags grew on me. I even somewhat forgave how they seemingly dumb downed Goku in Super, but the one thing I didn't forgive was Goku Black/Zamasu's ending, and completely agree with how Trunk's Spirit sword Should've been the one to finish that arc off. I also wish they melded bits of the manga to the anime, like gohan fighting kelfa.
I don’t understand why they haven’t explored any other universes apart from a Kais basic grass planet. They could of had 4-5 universes, decrease tournament participants and have the exact same story.

@@starkiller1289 see, that's something that might have been way better. He's magic. Why not use magic?
For me the biggest anti-climax was at the end of the Sayan arc when Vegita leaving Earth before Chi-Chi got there.
Would've been hillarous
Imagine if Chi-Chi had been the one to catch a wounded Vegeta instead of Krillin. She would have shown no mercy

A video about those moments that just didn't shine as well in such a long & bright series
Yeah, they're still good, a 7 or 8 outta 10, but nearly perfect.

For me bring back Frieza at the start of the Android Arc felt like it hurts the ending of Namek Saga
I would like to see you talk about more of these.
Chronoa not showing up during the whole Zamasu arc was a big missed opportunity.
Maybe the biggest fail is the power creep we get along the way!

Don't get me wrong, I love they're showing Bulla's smarts and I hope they can build on her character moving forward, it's just Bulma's reaction I thought was a bit much, I mean, when Geekdom showed the translated panel on his video, I was like, "dang, that was a bit harsh!"

"Continuas chamando-me assim Buubuu"
I loved Trunks going back and taking out 17,18 and Cell.
I was on feet, cheering, the first time I watched it. And it was my favorite episodes for a while.
The demon king himself Dabura. One of the coolest concept for a villain, only to be reduced to a stepping stone for buu.
Hm, fair and valid points and opinions, i can fully see where you were coming from with these and I could even agree with you,
It’s to bad these moments happened the way they did, I hope we’ll at least get less of these as time goes on,
But that doesn’t seem very likely, does it? I guess we’ll see.
I probably prefer how the Future Babidi saga played out in DBZ Kakarot ngl, maybe its because it was told fully 100% instead of just a mention compared to Super, but having Trunks unlock SSJ2 only during the fight and before that being on the backpedal against Dabura really raised the stakes a bit
Tbh I'm confident that Granola is gonna be in the arc to fight Black Frezia
"Hmm. I know, BONK!" in your Goku voice was amazing! 🤣🤣
Future Trunks didn't need to be brought back, they could have done the whole Evil Goku/Rogue Kai without Future Trunks.
Bro needed the muffin button
I'm surprised you didn't mention vegeta's sacrifice against Buu not working out.
@user-tp5yp2bv6z when you look at it like that yea it's not that bad, I just feel like vegeta should've gotten that W. But yea it dose help build buu as a threat
My problem with buu's absorbtion was its was a sudden change of plot.
We need a part two to this
2:23 I think the reason that king Cold is taken out as quickly as he does, is so that it’s another marker for Trunk’s his character.
He is not like Goku or Vegeta.
He’s not going to stay in there and let the villain power up. He’s going to take them out as fast as he can.
Gotenks didn't do much in the Buu saga despite being hyped up,,, Goten should've been the protagonist of that saga
Also all the female characters aside from Bulma got pushed to the side and that's dumb
Like cmon Videl had a whole arc about learning to use Ki like the original z fighters did back in og dhow
True honestly goten should have been the protagonist of super too I'm tired of goku

Honestly, the frustrations with dragon ball seems to mainly focus around weird contrived moments and near character assassination and I find it odd that it's such a problem in the writing. For such a long running series, you'd think consistent character and narratives would be the norm but nope, you get the black arc, cell, even the tournament of power since Jiren had the opportunity to wipe out everyone with little effort but didn't specifically to "not waste his energy"
As a matter of fact, it would be more consistent for his character to start running down the other contestants solo because he doesn't trust his team, he has the power to back up this mentality and yet he still never went for it
I can understand where you are coming from with the whole Trunks vs Frieza and King Cold thing, but I think it's perfect in setting up the Androids.

When are we getting a continuation of What If Bulma Trained Like Goku?
Goku sacrificing himself to save Earth against Cell's detonation being all for nothing is essentialy an inversion of previous sacrifices.
I was always disappointed that Pan never went super sayian in GT. They have her plenty of moments to transform but it just never happened.

Also that reminds me of old kai....didn't he get tricked into fusing with a witch and that is why he got old? Why hasn't he separated yet?
@@vando6679 they retconned the permanent portara fusions by saying that only immortals can’t separate. I think the idea is that mortals were never supposed to have access to the portara ear rings. Elder Kai being a Kai is immortal. So that’s why his fusion never ended and it worked out because Supreme Kai and Kibito didn’t separate until a wish was used to do so.

Mine would be the backbenching of all the side characters for most of dragonball z and super
Trunks giving a quick beat down to the Androids and Cell to me is the only way it should play out. He was already strong enough to take out Semi Perfect Cell (with a 17 that was stronger than his future counterpart) after his first time in the chamber. Not to mention Trunks had seen what a Perfect Cell could do, so it makes sense he’d want to stop any chance immediately
i only argue against the last one, trunks wasting the two androids felt amazing.
As you’ve discussed Gotenks in super hero movie was a bit of a disappointment as it would have been cool to see Teen Gotenks
it has it's highs and it's lows just like everything else
The ending of the Goku Black arc should have been the Final Kamehameha.
Well at least in DBZ, characters trained or suffered physically and emotionally to achieve new forms, and we didn't have DUMB gimmicks like back tingles or wishes to even the playing field !!!!
Dragon Ball's only failed moment is not replacing Sean Schemmel with MasakoX as official English Dub VA
Or having Peter Kelamis voice goku black
As a huge fan of Granolah's design... I'm very disappointed how he was forgotten and Goku and Vegeta Just left
goku using the button to summon zeno always confused me. the zeno from his timeline gave it to him, so wouldn't he have summoned that one, and not the one from future trunks' timeline?

I also wish they melded bits of the manga to the anime, like gohan fighting kelfa.
I don’t understand why they haven’t explored any other universes apart from a Kais basic grass planet. They could of had 4-5 universes, decrease tournament participants and have the exact same story.
