Fun fact: In an interview with Atsushi Ohkubo the autor of the manga he stated that Tim Burton movies influenced in the aesthethics of Soul Eater so yeah that makes a lot of sense when I come back and see this masterpiece of AMV.
I had watched Soul Eater before Nightmare Before Christmas, but the moment I saw Nightmare, I thought, “Oh shit! This is where SE came from!”

For me this was my first real introduction to anime (beside Pokemon Even then I didn't know it was anime) and I saw the show on Netflix so I decided to watch it and now I've seen countless numbers of them I have to thank this AMV for it
Edit: I should add I was 10 when I first found it mainly because every morning we would watch music videos before we went to school and one day this popped up and I loved this is Halloween from nightmare before Christmas and then I started watching this show with my dad later that week he stopped watching it after a while and then I continued funny how something that is little under 4 minutes long started a love for anime
I remember when this came out. I was already an edgy weeb and nonstop boping to this. Also nice homestuck profile pic.

The fact that soul eater was inspired by Halloween makes this so much better
More than a decade on and this is STILL one of the best AMVs on UA-cam. I come back every once in a while to appreciate the impeccable editing. The clips chosen are perfect, the rhythmic cutting is so well-timed, and the whole concept is just too good. It's a perfect marriage of song and subject.
I love how this AMV makes it look like a really Scarry and dark anime but in reality that is far from true.
I watched the "welcome to the show" AMV of this show just before this, quite a difference. XD
*Music is Life- theres some scary parts but i love those parts*
The thing about Soul Eater is that is starts off very light and funny, but as the story progresses it gets darker and darker with less comedic relief. I love how the manga and anime were written this way because it follows the overarching theme of a decent into madness.

@@applesource8261 But right after that, we have at least 5 minutes of ecchi in the form of the witch Cat. (not Cat witch, as in a witch of the cats, but rather a Cat of the witches, and I forgot her name. Was it something like Blair?)
And in manga, there are a lot more comedic relief in the first 10 chapters at least, so the characters' tone was a bit lighter than how the setting is.

I haven't seen or read a whole lot of the series, but from what I have, it's less of a horror series and more of a comedy, like The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy. It has a creepy or spooky theme, but your more likely to laugh then be scared.
