Great video! As a former health occupations teacher (RN), I can tell that you are an excellent teacher in the classroom. I would enjoy sitting in your classes.
Thank you for the time and effort you put in videos such as these. They have been and continue to be informative and helpful along my ketogenic journey.
DR GILLASPY, I have heard that when cooked veggies it kills the probiotics in the veggies and when juicing blending veggies it will LOWER the Fiber. I'm not sure what type of fiber are in Cruciferous Veggies because its a different type of fiber that the body is very hard to break down. I'm not sure what to take to help break down the fiber and compounds Cruciferous veggies, what do you recommend taking? Also Spinach has a very high level of oxalates which causes cancers is what I have heard.
Obviously, haven't seen my cooking skills, otherwise you would say raw vegetables are better! Seriously, another great video. [Personally, I think asparagus is improved by putting it in the bin!]
All your videos are great, really interesting, you explain very well and ...your english language is easy to understand ! (I speak french :-). Congratulation and greetings from Europe (Belgium)
That part about steamed asparagus, green beans and cauliflower being good for bile production while concurrently lowering LDL because the body uses it to make the bile is HUGE! Their role in that biological process just doubled their popularity on my menu. Thanks for the info! 😀
DR BECKY GILLASPY, most people has issues in digesting cruciferous vegetables which causes discomfort, gas, bloating, etc because of not having enough Alpha-Galactosidase enzyme. What would you recommend doing to cruciferous vegetables to HELP break down and help digesting them easier? can foods you know that have high levels of Alpha Galactosidase enzyme?
Hi, I have a ? ❓ Question. How is it better to consume red beetroot? And , is it true that if eat too much , it can be damaging? I eat at least one time per week one kilo cooked , I think it is cooked , bio mix fruits + juice inside , I buy beetroot from the local shop ,it is in a plastic sealed bag 🛍️, with inside the fruits plus a bit of the juice. I remember that one lady from China first time told me about the secret positives from drinking a beetroot juice. And ,since then , I always try to eat at least one time per week like half a kilogram, I think 🤔 is in this bag, or a kilo, I need to check ✅. Thank you 👍
@@hello991122 I have had it chopped in a sort of a veggie salad with broccoli, cheese and a nice freshly-made Italian dressing. I'm not sure if that's what you meant but I wanted to try and answer your question.💪😊
Thx for the information. I have heard that sprinkling mustard seed on cooked broccoli adds back an enzyme that is lost when cooking and I think that is an anti-cancer enzyme or something.
Honestly, I prefer raw to being cooked. I love the texture and flavor of raw veggies. Radishes, snow peas, zucchini, cauliflower, broccoli... I just love it raw.
About the Calcium in cooked spinach: it’s worth noting Calcium is an element and cannot be created by cooking. The statistic is only true because spinach shrinks when cooked so a cup of cooked spinach has more spinach in it than a cup of uncooked spinach.
I grew up eating cooked and always see people eat, prepare raw salad and I just don’t trust it. And I just don’t like how vegetables taste when raw. I hate salad and I don’t like the salad culture. Everyone eats salad bowls. Every new restaurant is a salad or bowl oriented place. Why not more exotic restaurants? Sit down restaurants Cooked food. Italian. Chinese. Korean. French even. I eat all kinds of vegetables cooked. Steamed brocolli, cauliflower, as well as cabbage, spinach, carrots, Brussels sprouts, sprouts, eggplant, onions. Mushrooms. Chinese style corn, bamboo shoots. Mustard greens.
There are some vege usually we eat raw are goods and tastier and some should be cook. Im looking for these when at my country I hate to found raw vege in my meals😂 the problem is most of vege like green beans, cabbage and tapioca shoots should hv cooked it but they served it raw :')
....bioavailabity is sop important. I read somewhere that broccoli should be steamed or cooked for longer than 2 minutes. Otherwise, pausterization occurs.
I cook all vegetables if I can eat them. And yes I cook them with oil, find that helps me digest. Raw vegetables give me stomach pain and bloating. Is it allergic?
Can you do a video on low-carb vegan? Is it possible to get coq10 being vegan? I know you need b12 and fatty acids and those supplements can be vegan but are there essential nutrients that you absolutely cannot attain while being strictly vegan?? I think a lot of people would be interested. Thank you!
Microwaving is the best way to cook vegetables. You just put them in a covered glass bowl with no water. Microwave for just a few minutes. The water in the vegetables will cook them and they come out perfect and retain about 85% to 90% of their nutrients.
I want to ask u ma'am that if I will eat boiled beetroot than their nutrition value will not be less than raw beetroot ma'am plz plz reply on this..?WAITING
Comparing 1 cup of cooked spinach to 1 cup of raw spinach is not a good comparison for nutrient differences between cooked and raw. A better comparison would be the nutrients in one cup of raw eaten raw and then one cup of raw spinach eaten cooked. There's a lot more in a cup of cooked spinach than there is in a cup of raw spinach
a lot of inaccuracies in this one. no plants should ever be eaten raw unless its a fruit. damage from anti nutrients is higher from uncooked plants. spinach is one of the worst things to eat raw it's so full of oxalates if you eat over a pound it could kill you. the calcium in spinach is not bioavailable to humans, it binds with oxalates creating indigestible crystals which damage the human body. calcium it not needed from any source other than what's available in meats or fat. there is absolutely no advantage to eating any plants at all. there are many disadvantages to eating plants and they far outweigh the little pleasure they give. if your starving eat them, it's a slower rout to death. i recommend you peel the skins off and remove all seeds these contain the highest levels of anti nutrients. for pleasure eat at your own risk. fruit is the only thing i would recommend for pleasure and only a few times a week in very moderate doses.

G. Moore yes. Max said that.
so cooking helps increase other nutrients but leaves out the most important vitamine C? thanks. I'll have to cook 1/2 and leave 1/2 raw.
What about roasted vegetables? Thanks so much!

I was eating cooked Spinach every day. I was scared of oxalates and kidney stones so I am trying to spread it out. Any thoughts on Oxalates?
I’ve been eating your cooked veggie recipe for about a year.
Favourite way to eat raw - salads. Favourite way to eat cooked - bountiful soups. :-)
Informative!

Exactly what I was going to say. One cup of cooked spinach is WAY more dense than a cup of raw because it cooks down so much.
What are your thoughts about roasting vegetables with olive oil in the oven?
Can't eat raw spinach. Makes my stomach hurt
Very interesting
Steam vegetables, eat fruit raw.
