Thank you so much. I've lost 32 pounds so far. My weight plateaued about 20 pounds in but i realised i was overdoing the fats so adjusted my intake and the weight shifted again. I avoid processed foods, keep to a 6 hr eating window but dont eat late in the day. Sleep has improved. I feel better than i have for years. I cant thank you enough.

This was great, thanks, I been tryin to find out about "what can't you eat on a low carb diet" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you heard people talk about - Ronaliana Future Falbala - (do a search on google ) ? Ive heard some incredible things about it and my cousin got amazing success with it.
Loving your calm presentations and straight forward information. I started a keto, low carb lifestyle 11 months ago, I’m 57 and have lost about 40 lbs, however since the new year I have occasionally eaten a few more carbs and sugars, getting stuck in that sugar cycle and I’ve been struggling to lose my last 20 lbs, I keep losing and regaining the same 10lbs over and over in the past 4 months, which is frustrating. Thankfully I’ve kept my intermittent fasting going, otherwise I may have regained it all back. I’m at the top of my healthy weight range but I’d really like to be at the lower end, it’s there that I lose all my belly fat and feel most comfortable, I’m feeling inspired again by watching your videos thank you 😊
As a recent exercise science graduate that participated in research on low carb diets I really appreciate your videos. The results we found overtime for consistent individuals was astounding!!

I'm on day 3 of one meal a day carnivore diet. I'm determined to lose weight and get off hypertension meds. I'm 58 years old and 215 pound female. I'm tired of hurting and unable to work.
I appreciate the information you provide in improving health through diet. I have chronic pain from degenerative spine issues which also triggers nerves and peripheral neuropathy. With your background, would you ever consider producing a video for a daily diet that focuses on relieving chronic pain?
Hemp and chia seeds, almonds and especially almond flour, dark chocolate, and certain leafy greens like beet greens, spinach, and chard are very high in oxalates, so I would recommend going on a low-carb AND a low-oxalate diet if you really want to reduce inflammation and improve your overall wellness. Note: Hemp oil is okay to include in a low-oxalate diet as it contains no oxalic acid - it is only the fat of the hemp seeds.
I am jealous of your husband. Such a pretty , smart lady. I've enjoyed and applied some things from your videos and appreciate your efforts to provide folks like myself some life changing information in a clear and understandable way. Thanks so much!!
I love your videos. Sound advice. I have never had a weight problem but appreciate healthy eating & never to drink sodas or processed foods. I lived in Greece for 14 years & that taught me to eat food in season.
Iv learnt so much from you, I am 67 years old living with cancer high blood Pressure under active thyroid I’m 5 foot 3” and weigh 12 1/2 stone. I’m going to follow your advise and would just like to thank you for pointing me in the right direction. Susan from UK England.
You could make your own kefir which cuts some of the lactose. Kefir lactose is 3.7gm per serving. Kefir is typically lower in lactose than yogurt and therefore may be tolerated better by people with lactose intolerance. Yogurt fermentation is shorter than Kefir. Home made kefir is usually fermented just under 24 hours.
I stopped eating potatoes, rice, pasta, and white bread, last October. I also stopped snacking between meals and finished my evening meal by 7.30pm. Salads and veggies were increased, meat consumption stayed the same. I rapidly lost 5 kg, so occasionally had potatoes or rice or pasta, in much reduced portions to what I would normally, say once every 7-10 days. I eat three extra-thin slices of Vogels bread (whole grain) toasted with avocado and cottage cheese EVERY day, and as of April 2020, I have lost a total of 9.5kg. I am 69 years old and it was all very easy, I have never felt hungry. I sometimes indulge myself with a meal which doesn’t fit into my new regime and my weight is still holding steady sometimes losing or gaining 100-200gm every few days.
This is very valuable information. I am on a journey to get my health up to par, and many times I eat the same things because I didn't have a clue all the variety of foods I can have. Thank you for breaking it down for me. It is a wonderful list & will help me meal plan more efficiently and include variety!! Thank you Dr.!!
It would be really helpful if you could do a segment on high spiking insulin foods and low spiking insulin friendly foods. Both in vegetables, root vegetables grown underground are higher spiking than green leafy vegetables grown above ground. Also which fruits are more insulin friendly than those that are high spiking fruits.
People keep saying to eat plant based veggies, well leafy greens, spinach, swiss chard, kale are all very very high in uric acid. I was eating spinach every evening as a side with my meal and my uric acid went way up so I'm off leafy greens. People seem to neglect to say that about veggies having high uric acid. Shell fish like shrimp are also very very high in uric acid.
I started very low carb out of curiosity, I run alot for my club and occasionally do weights and spinning so was always told load up the carbs but can honestly say I've had no lack of energy at all and gone from 32 to 29 on waist
Dr. Becky, have you ever tried bulletproof tea? I basically make a keto chai latte with black chai tea, coconut and almond milk (both unsweetened), ghee, and coconut oil. I also add some stevia, cinnamon, pure vanilla extract, and pink Himalayan sea salt. It sounds like a lot, but when whipped together, it is delicious! It reminds of a coffee shop order.
You're so right about dark chocolate! I watched your video about chocolate, and I now eat only 95% cacao chocolate. I love it! Of course, I try not to overdo it!
Very helpful to me Becky coming from a guy that has eaten junk and candy my entire life and finally trying to avoid diabetes and clean up my eating act at the age of 54. Thanks so much!
Great informational video packed with good information! In addition to onions, I'd also note that beets are a bit questionable as a "low carb" vegetable.

I don't need to lose weight (1.83m, 77kg) but found that by cutting out sugar (Coke, sugar in tea, biscuits, etc) that I have lost wrinkles round my eyes. Furthermore, I heard from another video that one can benefit from doing a 5 minute high intensity exercise routine. I was originally gym-ing 5 days a week and have now added this 5 minute routine for Saturday mornings. It sounds like nothing but believe me, it provide a lot of exercise.
Alpino's chocolate oats and peanut butter are the best. The fiber keeps my digestion happy, and they keep me full with good protein intake. Plus, they're ridiculously delicious without added sugar. Perfect for anyone craving tasty weight loss!

Hi Doc. Becky, I don’t usually eat nuts so is it not a requirement in a low carb diet? I mean, I will be eating those low-carb foods except nuts. Thank you.
If you don't use carbs for an energy source you are left with fat as the energy option. Nuts is a source of fat i.e. needed energy. Other option is animal fats.
Just diagnosed and I am having a hell of a time trying to get the hang of this. Do you have a cookbook? Also how much do I eat? How much food can I combined so as to not over do my daily intake?

Now though, I'm on a low carb diet and although I still crave sweets, I continue to lose weight and the diabetes does not slow me down much. I'm low carb forever!
Thank you for this refresher on low carb foods! I did well eating this way for a good part of last year, but the last few months of 2019 I let too many higher carb foods creep in. This week I started going back to basics, as I call it, so your video came at the right time.
