In the country for many decades when he says “Hank why do you drink” the crowd says “to get drunk”…Hank: “Why do you smoke?” Crowd says “to get high”. Crowd pleaser for sure down here. Party song 💕 And The Weatherman is worth reacting to.
Gotta hear this in a bar with everyone yelling the ad libs Why do you drink? (TO GET DRUNK). Why do you roll smoke? (TO GET STONED). Why must you live out the songs that you wrote (TO GET F*CKED). Some people yell to get laid, but this is a song where the whole crowd gets involved. Lol.
Hank Williams Jr. He sang the songs of his life. It's one of the reasons I enjoy his music. My grandmother hated this song, my grandmother was an awesome, wonderful woman, but was firm in her belief of the way people should behave.
Listen to "Kaw Liga" , its a song Hank senior wrote, but Hank Jr. put his own spin on it. Its always been a fan favorite at Hank Jr. concerts, along with "Born to Boogie".
Check out 'There's a tear in my beer'. Thru modern magic, they made it into a duet with his dad. Pretty cool. And the 'tradition' was that his daddy was known for his alcohol & drug abuse. He used it to help deal with the pain of hi spinal issues & sadly he died at age 29 of Spina Bifida.
Great reaction! In concerts toward the end when he sing Why do you drink? the audience hollers 'to get drunk!' why do you smoke? 'to get high!' It's funny!
Thrilled that you did this one!! I don't think I have seen Born to Boogie by Jr...if you are still looking for your third winner by him, that would probably be one to check soon
You need a live version for the answers to Why do you drink (to get drunk) Why do you roll smoke( to get high) Why must you live out the songs that you wrote ( to get laid) Excellent song
1. Go Royals. 2. Go Chiefs. 3. I like how the back up vocals come in only as the voices of his many country music critics. I don't know if that is just me interpreting things that are not there, but if true...cool. It's like all these people harping at him, but in harmony...because they would all be musicians.
I'm glad you kept going back to Frank. My grandfather was Franklin - went by Frank. Drank scotch, smoked the weed after he got out of the military in the 60's after being present at nuclear bomb tests. My dad Theo, drinks and smokes bud. And I'm 32, doing everything the exact same way as them. Drink the same scotch, but hitting my dab pen all day long. You could call it a family tradition.
Can you add Waylon Jennings to your list? He and Willie Nelson did a lot of duets. Plus they also got together with Johnny Cash and Kris Krisstofferson and became the Highway Men.
In 1973 Hank Jr. (Bocephus) was climbing a cliff with a couple of women and fell, or was helped to fall, and scarred his face. Thus, he has had the beard ever since. He is one of the greats, and, was one of the earlier crossover artists dabbling in Southern Rock and Blues.
It’s a fiddle and a steel guitar. Steel guitars used to be a standard instrument in a lot of country music but the younger artists don’t seem to appreciate the sound as much as the older ones. Like everything else, what’s known has country music has changed drastically over the years.
So this is one of the many country songs with “fan lyrics” go to any bar where this song is played and u will have people screaming when is says why do I drink? “To get drunk” why do you roll smoke? “ to get high” why must you live out the songs that you wrote? “To get paid” ! Great song
You should check out hank williams 3rd singing his granddaddy's song your cheating heart. Funny enough he looks just like him but he has taken a totally different music track doing his own style of music.
I'm pretty sure the ones who were on his case for his addictions & behavior in those days were most likely trying to keep him from self-destructing and the world losing him way too young, just as we lost Sr too young.
Four songs you should react to are Willie Nelson and Merle hagard " it's all gone to pot" fun song, Willie Nelson and Ray Charles "seven Spanish angels" , " Alice's restaurant " by arlo guthery and the motor cycle song by arlo
It's a fiddle violin and fiddles are the same instrument except thr tuning but fiddles are played in country and old time and violins are in classical music
And that pic on the album cover looks for all the world to me like the little "boss guy" side kick to the taller one from the movie Smokey and the Bandit... I know the pic is of Bocephus, but still...lol!
What they don’t talk about is Hanks daughter by another woman and he wanted his mom to raid her to say the least her grandmother died and they gave the little girl to a family who knew she was hanks daughter when the daughter got a check in the mail basically a pay off so she checked it out and found out who her father was it ended in court it took 30 years after a dna test proved she was hank Senior‘s daughter. Now the family acknowledges her before they didn’t want to.
I didnt listen to country till my 30s. Mainstream country sucks, outlaw and old country is amazing. If you havent yet, check out Waylon Jennings. His guitar and voice are stand-out. Start with Luchenbach Texas.

To get drunk, to get stoned, to get laid-get f’ed.

We say “to get stoned”
Gotta hear this in a bar with everyone yelling the ad libs Why do you drink? (TO GET DRUNK). Why do you roll smoke? (TO GET STONED). Why must you live out the songs that you wrote (TO GET F*CKED). Some people yell to get laid, but this is a song where the whole crowd gets involved. Lol.
One of my favorite artist ever, Blues, Country, Southern Rock....there's not anything he can't do. Singing or instrument wise. BOCEPHUS!!
Hank Williams Jr. He sang the songs of his life. It's one of the reasons I enjoy his music. My grandmother hated this song, my grandmother was an awesome, wonderful woman, but was firm in her belief of the way people should behave.
Bocephus!!! So freakin 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Hank Jr has a song called "All In Alabama," which is about the time when he fell 500ft down the side of a mountain and nearly died.
Loved it! It was in 1973 that he fell down the mountain and nearly died. ❤️🙏😇
1975 when he fell down Ajax Mountain, 1973 is when he tried to commit suicide.
Listen to "Kaw Liga" , its a song Hank senior wrote, but Hank Jr. put his own spin on it. Its always been a fan favorite at Hank Jr. concerts, along with "Born to Boogie".
Bring him on !!! My favorite song and singer !!!💯
You are so cute! I like your reactions and your personality. You add fun to my life 😊
Check out 'There's a tear in my beer'. Thru modern magic, they made it into a duet with his dad. Pretty cool. And the 'tradition' was that his daddy was known for his alcohol & drug abuse. He used it to help deal with the pain of hi spinal issues & sadly he died at age 29 of Spina Bifida.
Always be true to yourself.
All My Rowdy Friends Are Coming Over Tonight is a classic. I would recommend watching the videos.
Personally, I prefer the MNF variant of that one.
You gotta check out all my rowdy friends have settled down!! Love this!! NOONE will do that song, and if you have a past..you will relate 😂
I second this👆👆👆
My absolute favorite line is “some slicks trying to give me friction”
Great reaction! In concerts toward the end when he sing Why do you drink? the audience hollers 'to get drunk!' why do you smoke? 'to get high!' It's funny!
Thrilled that you did this one!!
I don't think I have seen Born to Boogie by Jr...if you are still looking for your third winner by him, that would probably be one to check soon
Also, the instruments in the solo were a fiddle, not , violin, and the steel guitar. Very unique sounds for both instruments.
Love a steel guitar. ❤️
It's a fiddle AB. Like a violin, but it has "strangs"
You need a live version for the answers to Why do you drink (to get drunk)
Why do you roll smoke( to get high)
Why must you live out the songs that you wrote ( to get laid)
Excellent song
Hank Jr was part of the " outlaw" country singers...
Enjoyed your reaction, you should check him singing it live during a concert, it's his show closer.
The legendary Charlie Daniels is playing the fiddle on this track.
I didn't realize that. Thanks for the info :)
Hank's step father was Johnny Horton also an amazing musician. Hank's son Hank 3 or Hank III is a musician, I like his country music.
Great reaction, of course you ran that sh*t back ! Good job!!!!
I need Hank Jr's 'Born to Boogie'. His nick name is Bocephus. You'll see it on his guitar. His daddy called him that.
1. Go Royals. 2. Go Chiefs. 3. I like how the back up vocals come in only as the voices of his many country music critics. I don't know if that is just me interpreting things that are not there, but if true...cool. It's like all these people harping at him, but in harmony...because they would all be musicians.
We need more Hank Jr
A real jazzy or bluesy song is They Call Me Bocephus by Hank Williams Jr
I'm glad you kept going back to Frank. My grandfather was Franklin - went by Frank. He was with his male friend and son.... and it was in 75
@@michaelvoorhees5978 sorry. I have been told that story since the mid 70s the way I typed it. Guess I need to check my dad's facts.
It’s why he wears the glasses as well. He almost lost one of eyes in the accident.
@@johnreed8789 lol watch the movie on UA-cam. It's a good one and accurate. It's called Living proof.
I didn't know that story
LOVING INSTRUCTOR.
It’s a fiddle and a steel guitar. Steel guitars used to be a standard instrument in a lot of country music but the younger artists don’t seem to appreciate the sound as much as the older ones. Like everything else, what’s known has country music has changed drastically over the years.
All in Alabama is a must Hank song

The BEST Jr song imho
I know you're definitely liking this one, you're Chair dancing again.
If you aren't sure if it's a violin or a fiddle, just look and see if it has four strings, or four strangs.
There’s a Hank Williams III, too!
Hank sr and jr are the best!!
You should check out hank williams 3rd singing his granddaddy's song your cheating heart. Funny enough he looks just like him but he has taken a totally different music track doing his own style of music.
Red white blues🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I'm pretty sure the ones who were on his case for his addictions & behavior in those days were most likely trying to keep him from self-destructing and the world losing him way too young, just as we lost Sr too young.
He wrote the song for Sunday night football!
1973 is when he fell off the mountain in Montana I think.
Also Wagakki Band "senbonsakura", The Hu Band " Yuve you've yu" and Baby Metal "karate"
His son is also relatively famous. He's the 3rd btw.
Hank why do ya drink ( to get drunk ) Hank why do you roll smoke ( to get stoned )......
That’s how The audience always sings it !!🎻🎼🎸
Why must you live out the songs that you wrote (TO GET F*CKED!) AB gotta hear this in a bar with everyone yelling the ad libs.
Do the song "Man to Man". Amazing song of Hank JR.
Four songs you should react to are Willie Nelson and Merle hagard " it's all gone to pot" fun song, Willie Nelson and Ray Charles "seven Spanish angels" , " Alice's restaurant " by arlo guthery and the motor cycle song by arlo

Hey AB! Hope you and yours are well!
Re: instrument
One of them you asked about, I'm pretty sure was a steel guitar
And that pic on the album cover looks for all the world to me like the little "boss guy" side kick to the taller one from the movie Smokey and the Bandit...
I know the pic is of Bocephus, but still...lol!
This first was a fiddle not a violin and the second is the steel guitar
What they don’t talk about is Hanks daughter by another woman and he wanted his mom to raid her to say the least her grandmother died and they gave the little girl to a family who knew she was hanks daughter when the daughter got a check in the mail basically a pay off so she checked it out and found out who her father was it ended in court it took 30 years after a dna test proved she was hank Senior‘s daughter. He actually almost died in 73 when he fell down a mountain
🙂👍
Your confusion over his name made me think that Hank Williams Jr. is the Frank Sinatra of country music.
Somthing in the orange “Zach Bryan”
Review Jett Williams Hank sr daughter please
Check out hank the third
It's a bit controversial in today's society, but you should check out his song "Dinosaur".
I didnt listen to country till my 30s. Mainstream country sucks, outlaw and old country is amazing. If you havent yet, check out Waylon Jennings. His guitar and voice are stand-out. Start with Luchenbach Texas.
It’s a fiddle.
