Mr. V- PLEASE react to his song “Whiskey Bent and Hell Bound.” AND his movie “Living Proof The Hank Williams Jr. Story” on your movie channel- you’ll see ALL of this- he fell from a mountain/cliff and busted his face literally to pieces- hence the beard, etc.. They literally put his face back together like a puzzle and the beard and all hides the scars- Now I could never imagine him without a beard and glasses - Anyway, It’s a miracle he survived- please react to it- 💙👍✌️
You're so right about listening. All you have to do is put yourself in a country state of mind to appreciate country music AND the lyrics. Same with any other genre of music. When I'm in New Orleans, I put myself in a jazz state of mind. When I'm listening to rap, I put on my "rap ears." R&B, rock, anything. If you put yourself in whatever mood it is supposed to be, you can appreciate anything. Good music is just good music. That's all there is to it.
Also, Bocephus (hank jr) always wore the glasses, because, he fell down a mountain and scarred up his face. Thats why he had the beard and glasses at all times.
I live in the midwest lots of honky tonk bars but I don't dress like a cowboy even though I've done lots of cowboy work from working cattle to raking and bailing...so cowboys want to fight me now and then but this song has saved me from fighting my way out of a few bars..I just played it on the jukebox and ended up with everyone sing it with me!!! On August 8, 1975, Williams was nearly killed in a mountain-climbing accident in southwestern Montana. While climbing Ajax Peak on the continental divide (Idaho border) west of Jackson, the snow beneath him collapsed and he fell almost 500 feet (150 m) onto rock; he suffered multiple skull and facial fractures.
I played this at my wedding at a upscale hotel in Pittsburgh... immediate redneck party. I am from very rural PA. You will never take the country out of this girl.
I went to a Hank Williams, Jr. concert in the mid-80s. I've seen Grateful Dead and Phish but the Williams show was the most weed I've ever seen at a concert. People were literally passing joints down the rows!
I've had homeboys look at me crazy for years over my musical tastes. I grew up in a house where music played constantly. Mom and Pops listened to Mexican music, my older siblings were in to Motown, rock, and blues. Growing up in the Northside of Fort Worth also known as Cowtown, I was surrounded by country music. Check out The Pointer Sisters "Fairytale" or Rod Stewart "What made Milwaukee famous has made a loser out of me".

The instrument u questioned was a steel guitar. Country classic. Sits on a table. Requires 2hands, both feet, and both knees. Wonderful sound. Puts the twang in.
Hank Jr can play so many instruments. There's a live performance of "Born to Boogie" somewhere, where goes through and does a little solo on each of his band members' instruments. He also can play a banjo, and there's an old performance of him picking the hell out of it when he played "Foggy Mountain Breakdown."
his dad passed away when he was 3 but hank jr started to tour a kid doing his dad songs. Around 1976 he fall off a mountain and almost died and that changed him to follow his own path and not do his dads music anymore
Bro my uncle and mom smoked weed and when I started smoking this song was what they played and I'm keeping the family tradition going this channel is Beautiful thank you for the hard work that goes into these videos
This is what I was listening to in my early teens when it came out (yep I'm that old). The duet they were able produce with technology to merge with his dad's 1950 performance of Tear In My Beer was very cool in '89. Most of his stuff is fun to listen to.

That was an excellent reaction Leo. I've never seen that version of H.W. Jr singing that song. It was so clear and he just sings it so naturally. Always liked this and Country Boy can Survive song,
I was the guitarist in A Dank Season (a metal band from the 2000's.) One of my favorite shows we've ever played was with Superjoint Ritual. The band consists of Phil Anselmo (singer of Pantera), Jimmy Bower (guitarist Corrosion of Conformity) and Hank Willams the 3rd. Best time ever back stage! My favorite memory smoking with those guys. Best gas ever btw lol.
Great reaction to a great singer- songwriter!! His song portfolio is massive and I think he can play, like 10 instruments. Truly a Super Talent. He 's done many songs with other music legends like Earnest Tubb, Ray Charles, waylon Jennings, Kid Rock and more. You can't help but to rock out to Hank's "Born to Boogie" and "All my rowdy friends are coming over Tonight"!! Give em' a Whirl, you'll be glad you did!!
Country music had it's own little rat pack back in the 70's and 80's, and Hank Williams Jr., Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, and Kris Kristofferson, used to be all best friends and running buddies. The line in the beginning about they disowned some of the boys and me, that was a subtle shoutout to them.
Mr. Video, You my Brother are the reason I found "Reaction videos" when you reacted to "Free Bird". It was my first reaction vid and I fell in love. It is so nice to see younger people enjoy the music I grew up with. It's great to have you back man!
Hank Williams Jr. is very talented, I have seen him in concert several times. He can play piano, fiddle, guitar, saxophone, and god only know what else. He puts on a great show.
Thanks Junior, I appreciate you giving the music a go again. My Momma played country, and all us kids moved on to playing Beatles as a garage band. Though sometimes we sang Hank sr. and various other country artists. This song always reminds me of my oldest brother, who would not stop playing. He kept the party going.
