My friends invited me to go with them but I had to work one more week at my summer job and it would also cost me a week's pay to go. They went and I figured it was no big deal. Funny thing is, "Woodstock" wasn't a thing until it happened. Everybody figured it would be a little folk/rock/arts & crafts festival in upstate New York. A week later, the entire nation watched it on TV. Since then, I watched the movies a million times. A lot of groups besides Joe Cocker also got there start there. I was 19 in 1969.
Took me a few minutes to share my feelings here. Another hero gone. Joe made simple Beatles songs sound horrifying beautiful. Thank you man for being a part of my life and I will never forget till I die myself. In the meantime I will make sure to save your albums and play them till they also go to ashes. Love to you and rest in peace.

I can only thank "a little help from my friend" Gustavo for lending me a cassette of "The Best of Joe Cocker" around 1993-94.
RIP Joe, we all miss you dearly! Thank you for all you gave us. ♥2U
Fantastic performance from joe, lovely bass player too❤
R.I.P., Joe! Great Extended Version of this wonderful song!
Forse questa e' la più bella canzone di tutti i tempi con un joe cocker in una forma strepitosa, incredibilmente incisivo, una vera forza della natura
What makes a legend?
Being 69 at the time of this recording and still being able to hit the high notes.
RIP!
Great band, great version, the sound of the best musical generation
I love the sound of a Hammond B3 and a couple of 147RV Leslie's! That sound can never be imitated!!! When he hits the Leslie Horn switch to spin fast and then slow ... I can feel it in my Bones!!!
Excellent, may music live forever!! 🎉🎉🎉
People will always make music. It’s art.
Get a keyboard. Play
...Mr. JOE COCKER....GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN....MAY REST IN PEACE ONE OF THE GRATEST SINGERS OF ROCK & SOUL FROM THE LATE 60's AND THE 70's....WHAT A SAD AND BAD NEWS...!!
and BLUES
Dixi Humle
Always the question. Where does soul ends and blues starts. I am inclined to agree this is more blues than soul. But what the hell it is so great. let us not argue about genre.
Peter Huisman No need to argue. You got me wrong. I'm with you. It's just an addition:
Joe Cocker is ROCK and SOUL and BLUES !!!
Couldn't be devided ...
Dixi Humle
Gotya Dixi. Even BALADS could be in that line up:)

My all time favorite singer. So glad that I saw him perform live in London a couple of years before he died. He was brilliant.
Er ist so mächtig authentisch wundervoll meine Jugend und mein Alter begleitend
Amazing voice. RIP Joe Cocker
Joe tears up this Beatles tune every time he sings this great song. Love ya & miss . I remember going to his pad in Telluride to the blues festival 🎉
All I can add in is "Thank You!" for posting this version of this timeless wonderful song - I listen and watched it quite a few times, each time "seeing" new nuances which previously escaped me.

It's so moving watching this. Joe, as good as ever, nailing this song and owning the stage 45 years after the original version. The voice and timing still absolutely brilliant.
