I am not a farmer I am an undertaker from Newcastle upon Tyne I look forward to watch you channel on a Sunday keep it up Adrian. happy to hear you dad doing better what it’s all about family 👍
Thanks for the kind words Adrian! We are very blessed with our farming system down here, hopefully you see some blue skies soon and also hope to see you down here one day (if only for a visit 😉) 👌
Greetings from Florida! Being a retired engineer, I have time to follow numerous channels and really enjoy the farming channels. Your content is excellent! I also enjoy the following dairy channels: Gierok Farms (Wisconsin), 10th Generation Dairyman (Pennsylvania), Trinity Dairy (Wisconsin), Kip Siegler Farming (Michigan) and SaskDutch Kid (Canada). It is always interesting to learn about where our food is produced. Like everywhere in the world, farmers are also struggling here in the U.S., especially with rising costs and low crop prices. Take care and God bless...
gatorguy, if you like them as much as I do, I have another one for you. He is a organic farmer in Germany and his channel is in German, of course. His father built one of the first free stall barns in the 70th, he has a milk robot, some acres of woods and a very kind personality. And trust me, it is worth watching him even if you do not understand German: www.youtube.com/@stollvondeining9485
I only recently started watching your channel so I’m several months behind. I particularly enjoyed the advice you gave at the end of this episode reminding your viewers that things will get better and that they’re not suffering alone. It made me think about how much sunlight or lack of sunlight affects the human spirit. The lighting industry and specifically the LED industry has many affordable light bulbs that mimic daylight. Just putting these in rooms you work I. Like your workshop or the cab of your tractor can dramatically improve your mood. Rainy days for long stretches can do a lot of harm to our moods. These lights can help.
Be so happy that you are not a farmer in South Africa. They face many of the same challenges, maybe lack of water, rather than excess water, may be very hot days rather than grey days, but bigger than all that, is personal safety. Not knowing if they will be murdered in their beds overnight. As farmers, you are all very special people.
You are a breath of fresh air, I'm an I.T. Engineer in Scotland, and yes we all want to see a blue sky, your videos have made me appreciate what the farmers go through to put food and milk on our tables, here's praying for a long hot summer with a bit of rain at night to help our farming friends.
Unbelievable how wet the fields are at the moment. As for the ivy, it’s a curse. We cut a middle section out to kill it otherwise it will kill the tree, or bring it down in high winds. Super vlog as always btw.👍💪
seems most trees over there are covered in ivy and the wind takes them down, we go round we a chain saw and cut the ivy at the bottom and makes the trees look much better and never have any blow down
I'm not a farmer but I love farming and those who farm and stay with it despite huge adversity. You're all champions - and the land you steward for us all looks amazing and our thanks are due to you in spade loads for feeding us and for feeding the nation. Thanks Adrian for the reminder of weather-induced anxiety on top of everything else you and your colleagues have to endure.
Wishing💕💕 ......you and your fellow farmers all of our sunshine and blue skies from Australia ( apart, of course, from those under fire from the cyclone and flooding here at the moment ) Love the channel
This is a mighty channel, good humour dilutes the seriousness of what going on with the weather as you showed and explained very well Adrain. You never lost your realism which unfortunately happens to most other channels as they grow and promotions and “ look what we bought “ takes over. Real down to earth content 👏🏻. I just watched some of the videos on Andrew’s channel last night and must say I totally get what you mean. Hope the weather improves soon and thanks for keeping things real
Great video. You are a top notch guy Adrian. Your care and compassion for others and your animals shines through. I really hope the weather improves and the fields dry up quickly. It can certainly be hard on one when things are out of our control. Loved the “ friesian” line. 😂👍👍
Adrian, it's always a pleasure watching your videos, and the comedian you are makes me chuckle. But you have had your fair share of rain. Take it easy my friend.
Sure there’s always good & bad in life and this video is a perfect example of your channel. You give us a real view into life on your farm. There’s always work to do. There’s always struggles whether it be weather or something else but there’s new life as well. And if you’re Irish there’s humor too. Happy St Patrick’s Day☘️ Ps. I’ll have to see the better quality vise grips before I pass judgement 😉 💚
Love your humour. The little clearing of the throat when you mention being silly enough to work on a fence you haven't turned off 😂 and the look over your shoulder re Cavan people being mean 😂 classic
Hi Adrian I've been saying there is something in the air I've spoken to loads of lads who's all feeling down, but now winter is over I hope it lifts everyone's spirits And bit more 👍👍
I had a similar experience watching the Grassmen down in NZ, I just couldn't believe how beautiful that place is. But I see the same thing on your channel too, when the sun's out :) You're in an amazing countryside. So it's not surprising that Ireland and New Zealand are two of the places I've always wanted to see. Always enjoy what you're up to.
A thoughtful and timely message Adrian, despite the growing workload on the farm evident in the vlog and not being able to get out on the fields you genuinely appear in good spirits and full of the craic… power to you my friend! Enjoy the St Patrick’s celebration. Slainte Mhath 🍻
You're right everyone has had a hard time lately with the weather, finances etc but it's always good to see someone like you doing there best and trying to stay cheery through it all. Keep up the good work.
Cheers! Happy Paddy’s Day! It’s been very wet here in Maine too. Had been warm but we’re going thru a cold snap again. Grass isn’t greening yet and everything is sodden. Wish I had spread lime when the ground was frozen and I could get on it, but 8” of rain in the last 45 days says that would have been a bad investment….
Adrian, I just want to say, I really love watching your videos. I’m not from farming. I grew up around farms in the country. I really enjoy watching everything that goes on. I am dedicated to our farmers, no foreign meat for me. Keep up the great work you do
You need your own TV comedy show, great comic timing, very funny but also serious with good advice. Hopefully you can switch off and not let others issues pull you down. Keep up the good work.
Hi Adrian and family, I've been watching Andrew for a few years now, and you are dead right, it would do you good to watch him and his Dad farm in such good conditions. Although sometimes he gets extremes too, like drought or too much rain. But it's so much different than our way of farming. No housing for the cows or for the cows calving, just for the calves for a few weeks. It is a lovely way of farming. I also can't get over how they never look at cows at calving at night.
Enjoy everything that you do around the farm . It upsets me to see the calves separated from their mothers. What is the reason. I find the farm challenging and exciting and can't wait to see what is going to happen next. 😊
Morning- writing from Nova Scotia, hellish wet here too and it has been for almost a year breaking rainfall records with almost double normal rainfall in an already wet environment. Seems to rain almost everyday. Yet in other parts of the country they are in the middle of a multi-year drought with no end in sight. Wish we could send some rain their way. kevin
Thanks Adrian for mentioning Andrew. He is the farmer who talked about you a couple of years ago, and brought me to your channel. You have lifted my mind and heart so many times! Please be active in supporting and protecting your, and others', mental health during this very difficult time. Thank you for your ending segment addressing mental health. Evelyn in Minnesota
Morning to you i used to be a farmer due to my mental health i can't do it no more.my heart goes to every farmer.lets hope the weather improves.i live wimborne Dorset and the river stour has spent most times flooded which affects my country walks.take care i support you and people like farmer p.❤❤❤
You're so right about the wet weather, it's no different over here in the UK, to put it mildly it's been bloody awful. Happy St Patrick's day to you and everyone in Ireland, hope you and yours can have a wee celebration, even if it is between calving and doing all the other stuff you have to do on the farm. My late Queen during COVID said, things will get better and we'll be able to do all those things we can't do now, I believe that sentiment is right for this time as well. Take care Adrian and let's all hope the fair weather comes soon, it needs to as my garden looks like a peat bog. 👍
Aww that was a lovely wee tour of your farm/scenery Adrian 👍👋 Nicole. Thank you for explaining to us about the ins and outs of farming, and how weather has an impacted on your income 😔 Lol shaking your hair 😂 My Granda❤ use to say that, "its ringing wet" Have a lovely Saint Patrick Day Adrian and family ❤
As always Adrian, very well said. You are a very positive person despite all the hardships. Congratulations on the new calf’s. You have to be right Adrian “things will get better and the sun will shine” stay safe. Regards to your dad, I hope he is keeping well. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Fair play to you Adrian it's tough times there. I'm dairy farming in the south island of New Zealand and currently very dry and I've been watching all the rain ye have been having and wishing I could take a drop of it off ye. Have to keep the chin up. The weather will change, it always does.
Adrian with the exception of the willow/sally, all the trees down were covered in Ivy. The roots of the trees are there to uphold the tree. Ivy on the tree acts like a sail and is too much for the roots to take. If you could find the time ( I know it is another thing you would have to find the time for) to go to the trees (starting with the tallest ) with a spade and a loppers and clear about a meter of ivy off the tree all the way round, That will kill the ivy up the tree. The idea of the spade is to lift the ivy away from the trunk to get the loppers in to cut it
Happy St. Patrick's Day to you! The blue is peeking through the clouds here in Pennsylvania. Chilly, however. What are midges ? Please. Flies? knats? Always enjoy.
Thankyou forcthe tour , realy enjoyed . But the grass . Been noticing that too . I am not a farmer . I watch you guys . Funky farmer saw the grass yellowing . I hope its not a hard year ? .touch wood as they say . We are terrribly dry in the usa .very warm winter not enough snow or rain . The view was wonderful but yhe flooding .thankyou soo much . I watch you it decompress me thankyou . Gotta keep on keeping on .bezt wishes . Thankyou for your last talk .
Well said Adrian at the end of the video. Yes The Once a Day Farmer is a good channel and the number of young Irish workers that work for the local farm contractor that Andrew uses is quite amazing. All going out to work in Aotearoa to get away from your weather Adrian
Great video Adrian although it is tough to watch the ground saturated and knowing how hard it is to keep a level head from not being able to do anything about it and worse not to get slurry out and everything else that goes with it. Hope the weather gets better soon 🤞. Enjoyed watching. Happy St Patrick’s Day. ☘️☘️☘️
Well watching you Adrian this morning was very up lifting! Sure Hudson was running at 70mph along side the quad 🤪 plenty of banter, you were really on form! Well done you, it’s always nice to make people smile, great to see two new borns doing well, thought you said you herd a flock of sheep in next field!!!😂 it never seems to take much to upset a electric fence.Thought Bailey was very clean for the state of wet fields , think a lot of farmers will be going back over their crops because of lying under water for so long, anyway keep up the great work you do 👍🍻
Love the videos mate you keep a tidy farm happy st Patrick’s day I’m from co limerick originally live in Australia watch every week keep the head up it won’t rain forever

A good farmer like yourself is showing how strong you are, especially with the rain you have 👍🙂
Thanks for the kind words Adrian! We are very blessed with our farming system down here, hopefully you see some blue skies soon and also hope to see you down here one day (if only for a visit 😉) 👌
No worries, would love to see that part of the world one day 👌
Cindy Crawford comment really cracked me up!!! 😂

Farming in the winter is so glamorous, isn't it nice to be out 🚜 ☔⚡☘️🐕. Dogs are enjoying it too 😄.
Happy St. Patrick's Day. Wales' best contribution to Ireland, if the legend is true and as a Welshman, I like to think it is.
