I almost spit my tea out when you said you forgot to hit record! 😂 Yeah, that heat was terrible first half of August, and I know y'all aren't used to those temperatures. Here in North Texas, we hit a high one day of 118°F/47.7c, and had a hen die from heat exhaustion. Our coop & nest boxes are in deep shade, but I put up a big fan to at least keep the air moving, and give them a little relief while laying, and at night. Oh, and a paddle pool for the chickens, too. Lol, so cute to see them enjoying standing in about 3 inches of cool water that I shoved in between the hedges. They love it!
@@mandypaul7263 thank you. They are so cute standing in their pool. 💕 They look like little ladies wearing big poofy dresses, and they're hiking up their skirts to keep them from getting wet. One in particular spends a good 6 or 7 hours in there every day! We call it "The Lagoon" lol.
Trees are very important for shelter, the numpties in the Dept of Agric don't understand that looking at the satellite photos sitting in their cosy offices, they think the land is shaded and scrub land where the trees are. They don't understand that livestock need shelter and there's growth underneath the trees too.
That cow who feeds herself in the parlour is hilarious! No different to horses working out how to open stable doors, some learn how to untie their lead ropes when tied up. You can workout a million different ways to try to solve a mischief maker but when you’re running a business, selling them is sometimes the best option.
That heifer will be picking locks in her new farm. 😁 I have a heifer here that will unhook the electric fence even when it's on. She will catch the insulated handle in her mouth and drop it to the ground. I have her on video doing it.
Forecast for Pembroke west Wales gave rain last week as well we did not have any and still have not.Had 45mm 6 weeks ago and that is only we have had since May and no rain means no grass.Another great video as usual
Wow that's funny because I thought I saw the only cow that did this with the feeder cords. It's amazing how they know not to bite the thin cords but instead use their tounge. What I saw as a solution was to put planks of timber over the cow barrier under the cords.
I absolutely love your videos that showcase your work with your animals versus the equipment videos but hey, I’m a gal! I love “this farming, life” on prime TV and I’m surprised that you are not on that show! Excellent videos and your drive and incredible energy are so inspirational. The amount of multitasking you do and your incredible expertise in so many areas is a big wow factor for me.
Talk about being to smart for your own good, hope that cow gets a real nice home for many years to come, she does look real healthy and good, just like the rest of the herd, so think there's a happy farmer that gets a nice cow.
My brother in law had an Illawarra cow that learned to manipulate the lever which gave her extra feed on a new system. Interestingly she did not learn it until she was on her 5th lactation but then got the new system sorted out quick smart. The fix though, was easy
Well Adrian, Lovely farm, its nice when animals come to the farm, but it's sad when they leave the farm, its the sheep & cattle that make any farm. Kieran from Laghey donegal town
Great video again. You're a great man for a bit of fabrication and welding. Project for the future a set of locking barriers for the parlour. Never again have that problem and great control over the cows and especially the freshly calved heifers. I find them a great job and wouldnt be without them.
get some A4 size fly sheets, stick them to both sides of a piece of ply the same size and stake that out, out of the reach of the cows, that will get rid of a lot of flies, cheap and effective.
Great and interesting vid this week Adrian The calves and heifers are looking really great , your animal husbandry is spot on there. take care A till next time.
HI Adrian I' ve seen cows do the self feeding trick before but never a cow that would feed the rest of the row as well on her way in ! thats a fair annoying habit .. good luck to the man who bought her ..every foot will find an old sock 🙃🙂👍
I’m not gonna lie it did make me chuckle when I seen you that you nearly tripped over 😂😂. Any way Great content as all ways see ya next week my mate !!
The shade is essential, but the back coat has no impact on it how the animals do in the hear. If you think, sure Wildebeests, Elephants and all sorts of other animals in warm climates have dark/black coats, including water buffalo. It's just not how it works. Yes dark colours absorb light (and therefore heat) quicker, but it also gets rid of heat quicker too
Hi Adrian, Yes non recording on the drone, Must be a DJI, I have flown various Parrots over the last 5 years and now also have the DJI, but like that sometimes forgot to record. Tha Parrot auto records on take off, alas the DJI does not. Made a label to put on the controller called CAMERA, it helps but not foolprofe, still managed it last Sunday for a Tractor run.😁
Great video adrian . Ya never go near the house sayin ya havent much to do today 😂😂We used to have cows that would headbut the feeder the get meal out of it .a cow we bought in and she taught a few others how to do it also
I take it you know the joke about the curious cows who found broken car dumped in a field and they stood and looked at it for ages and ages -but they never fixed it!! lol
Hi Adrian, your feeders in parlour. Did you ever see cash man electric feeder ? I have seen Air feeders and cows pushing buttons and getting feed They are a lovely clean and great for control of feed a great investment. Keep the good work up.
Hi Adrian yeah they are stainless steel and they can be controlled by individual or few more quid they can controlled by single box. There was a grant on them. But for 8 unit approx €9000-10,000 + vat. If you Google cash man electric feeder you will see images 😉 Keep the good work up
We had a cow that had to go into the parlour last…. Which was fine! Problem was we had a big collection yard and the cow that went in last wasn’t very good a seeing there were other cows in the yard. Dark winter evenings (alway on a Saturday night) was especially fun.…. All hell would break loose if a cow came in behind her… nightmare! 😀
What is that green stuff in your fields? I’m in the East Riding of Yorkshire and our grass fields are a brown colour, having to feed cattle rolls to them.
Very interesting video Adrian I really enjoyed that. I’m at work here in the desert and it’s over 50 degrees in the sun. The cows here are inside most of the time and cooled with big fans and water mist/spray, there is no big trees here. Out of interest could you have raised the ropes up higher out of her reach???
Good man, that’s serious heat 🥵. Raising the ropes would work but not worth the hassle for one cow, no others ever done that so hopefully it remains that way 🤞🤞
Hey adrian.. great video. always enjoy watching them. just a quick idea I had , would you consider making a 30 second introduction clip to start each of your videos. like use the same one each time.
Another 20 odd minutes entertainment Adrian, the heifer really has come on very well ! Don’t suppose you could cover feed ropes with water pipes to stop cows licking them? Anyway the grass came on a treat, nothing like that over here in uk Somerset.looking forward to the next video 🍻👍
We’re going to give that parlour an overhaul down the line and probably put in a different system. That’s the first one to do that in a 12 years so it’s not to bad.
Adrian, you should have kept that troublesome heifer. She could have cut your workload in half. Talk about cleaver crows I guess this heifer has been watching UA-cam videos behind your back.
How's things Adrian brilliant video as always what do you think of gerrys new John deere will you ger and farmer Phil ever get together remember before the pandemic ye were talking about it
I would have put the rope through a steel pipe I hope you don't regret moving your young cow's on because there is always one or two will go wrong before the year is out. Another great video good watching you 👍
There next to no square silage bales in these part Earle, I’ve never actually seen them in person, round bales are very easy managed here with the bale splitter in fairness.
Sad that the heifer had to suffer due to your old fashioned parlour. Some cable tray under each rope would have solved that cheaply . It’s always good to have a character about the place . She was born to make you laugh . We have ones that would nearly talk to you their that clever . Not hating just saying Ted !!
We all seem to have one of those special cows. One here that upsets the whole show when she has no meal under her head, I've often been heard saying the rosary in the parlour.. 🤬🤬😂
The heifer knowing how to work the feeders sounds more like the kind of thing Jerseys would do - smarter than the average cow 🏴
A comment to help the channel 👍👍👍👍.
You bred one very smart cow gave herself treats and all her friends as well😂😂😂
Good drone work Adrian. Thank you for sharing.🐄

I'm sure both heifers have went to good farmers. Another interesting video of day to day life on a busy dairy farm.
Fantastic video Adrian you must be the hardest working Man on UA-cam,your energy and enthusiasm is a shining example to us all.
Great video again Adrian The girl are a good help for you Adrian the heifers are looking good 👍👍👍🏴🇬🇧

Another great video Adrain. Shows the importance of having some mature trees/hedgerows throughout all farms.

Lovely healthy shiny coats on all your cows, and so clean too. Love your vids, keep em comming.
Not hitting the record button is all the luck of the irish , it would never happen to us welsh lol. Another fab vid keep them coming. 🙂

Harvest entertainment 👌🏽 spot on

great video yeh heaps water troughs, az weather heats up with you lot getting our nz weather you will need bigger troughs , good stuff
great video, you do a grand job, good presentation, and it has its humorous side also which is great
Enjoyed cattle coverage. Understand the effort to keep your heard uniform in size and age. Thank you for sharing.🐄
Thought I might have seen you in Virginia today. There was a shed with some massive cows in it.
Now here's me thinking she was off to the factory for being a nasty cow 🤣 Great story Adrian with a happy ending for her 👍
A clever cow you had there.........must be something in the grass LOL
Brilliant video
Very enjoyable video Adrian 👍🏻
Enjoyable video as ever Adrian. Thanks very much, even if I needed a translator at a few points. 😉

Your lucky to have so much grass.down in South East we've got 6 ml in 3 to 4 weeks. Nearly everybody is feeding. Alot of big herds in big trouble.
Great video Adrian place looking well 👌 👍

Love your channel and your animals USA
Well done! Pure entertainment!☘️👍
Cracking video as always Adrian. We had a cow that did the exact same thing. She would build a nest in your ear
Another gem Adrian , you make my week ,ghtyay Keith

Great story! Cows deserve a lot more credit for their intelligence than they get eh! 🤭
Nice video and nicely put together!
What kind of stocking density do you think for friesans on good land? 1 head per acre?
We have ringworm on our heifers outside for the first this year never seen it before starting outside
Extra zinc in the feed might be helpful to knock out the ringworm!
