I was concerned that you had not make it far north until I realized this video is over a month old. I would think you might be in Oregon by now. Yosemite is a place that I've spent many journeys hiking and backpacking along various trails. My most recent trip included a hike to North Dome. It's a place I try to visit at least once a year.....never gets old. Enjoy your positive spirit.

Yosemite is magical!! And made it to Oregon yesterday. We actually ended up being right in the thick of all the McKinney fire issues but we were able to all make it out safely. Crazy 48 hours!! 😳

Another great episode!! Love your outlook and happy demeanor throughout your journey. Funny thing, I was in the valley the same day you were and even ate pizza for my afternoon meal. Maybe we crossed paths near there!! It was delicious after my day of bouldering near Curry Village and hiking the Mist Trail once again! Thx for sharing and looking forward to your next episode!

At 10:01 you said we were just here for the hiking, but thats not entirely true. I love the whole experience. I'm 63 now and have health issues, so I live vicariously through channels like yours. I love hiking and love the mountains. I lived in Yosemite for 25 years. Part of long hikes was the days off chilling and eating good and doing fun things besides hiking. Its all part of the experience. Some of my favorite memories including making it to town and just gorging. Its amazing how wonderful things can taste when you are really hungry. And mountains are awesome. I'm nostalgic just thinking about them. So I want to see it all. I live in the desert now and miss the mountains. Because I've been dealing with health issues for a long time, I've watched a lot of people hike the PCT, and the one thing that always makes me sad is to see the push to finish certain sections. I understand when food supply is an issue, and I understand that it costs extra to stay in town, but it seems to me like one or two extra days here or there wouldn't add that much cost or time to the whole experience and the pay off would be so wonderful. Because you can camp at VVR the main cost is food, so what a great place to take an extra day. Just my thoughts. I'm still enjoying watching your adventure. What a grand adventure.

People run against the wildfires in OR, the snow in WA, some against the end date of their visa or the start date of a new job. VVR is a nice place, but it's more the shower, laundry, and sitting together with other hikers around the fire pit. One night is enough. (and yes, I was there two weeks before Arielle, for a sobo section hike) - I can understand your feelings, and one may therefore decide not to thruhike, but split the trail into two sections to have more time to enjoy. Which maybe better for our age group (I am one year younger than you) - young people have no time ;)

I have that same GSI mug (LOVE it) and someone warned me against clipping it to the outside of my pack. Their inner cup portion flew out of the sleeve at one point in their trip! It was so light they didn’t even hear it fall 😂 Just a heads up. Love love love following your journey ♥️ thanks for sharing

Oh no! Such a bummer! I haven’t had any issues so far but maybe there sleeve was a bit looser or something. I’m at nearly 1700 miles now without any issues ☺️

I have heard that putting a thick rubber band around the cup and then into the sleeve helps it grip and not fall out! 😊

Wonderful video as usual. I was a bit surprised by your original plan. Didn't seem feasible, so was not surprised (sadly) by your closing comments ... but ... that's part of the adventure, eh? It's not always going to go according to plan, and I really appreciate you keeping it real for those of us who might use this information for planning.
    安全第一で頑張って下さい!
Please be safe, and keep at it!
    P.S. -- Congratulations on 900!

Glad to know your date of video, hopefully you got out of one fire area got to enjoy Yosemite attractions without smoke, unfortunately you may be facing another (Mckinney)Enjoy what you do get to hike but be careful, things are heating up, take advantage of those rivers and lakes to take a quick dip and cool off! Stunning video, you are a great with the camera, those crystal clear lakes and rivers, I know they are alpine fed but I would want to jump right in, have shocked myself many a time lol! Am looking forward to more in the future!

Aw thank you so much!! My videos are a bit delayed so we were actually on trail right next to the McKinney fire and had to evacuate. So crazy!! Everyone in our group is safe but it has been a crazy 48 hours 😳

This is a challenging year for anyone visiting Yosemite due to construction, day passes, fires, post Covid, rec.gov now CHARGING $10 each time you even apply for a permit, I tried 4x, $40 bucks wasted. I live in Tuolumne County and can’t seem to get access to the park.
