Here’s a tip: in Helix you not only have to turn the cab sims off, but also the powerstage sims off too. Since you are already going through a real power amp and two real guitar cabs. totally disagree. This is a clean SS power amp and will not give you the tonal richness of the modeled powerstage. By all means try it, but that modeled powerstage is what gives many of the amps their character and this will NOT give it back to you...
I would agree with you if we where talking about an FRFR context. If you’re going to use it in an “amp in the room” context with a real guitar cab, its going to sound weird... I’ve never tried it specifically with a power amp pedal, but I have experimented with a DT25/50 and other power amp stages on other amps and always came to the same conclusion. 😉
@@tarotguitar same here! I tried several ways using the return of my Carvin V3M amp, and the only way that sounded nice was using a pre-amp block in the HX, no IR/cab/amp worked this way.
Yeah I have to disagree also. That may be the case with a tube power amp but the Harley Benton is very neutral solid state power amp and won’t provide the character of a tube power amp. You’ll want the full amp model most likely to get the character of the power section. If it work for you though then go for it but I definitely prefer the full amp models with my Harley Benton GPA-400.
Thinking of pairing this with a pedalboard preamp (an actual preamp in a pedal, not just something that says preamp but is actually just meant to be a drive pedal), that way the entire rig can fit on a pedalboard. So the chain would go instrument > dirt pedals > preamp pedal > time based effect pedals > thunder 99 > cabs. And then it would also be trivial to put a splitter/switcher off the time based effects to go to an ir loader for silent stage playing where everything is being sent to the venues pa system or to a recording interface.
Just curious did you end up going this route and if so your thoughts on it. I've been considering going a very similar direction, master effects marauder and jc pre both set up on the board as a/b channels, get some compact solid state tones with em, run them out to the harley benton or similar.
@@Theonearmedscissor I have not gone this route yet. My rig is serving me fine for the moment so no need to upgrade, though once I do I may be going a different direction. Some interesting options have appeared since that post. More expensive, but that just means saving up for longer.

Review from Thomann.: Great idea...but SlackboyJim, 03.10.2019 I got excited about this product early on in 2019, and ordered it for arrival in July. Product arrived ok, and worked a charm with Mooer compact preamps meaning I had a HUGE amount of tonal and volume choices from a very compact pedal board. The Thunder was loud enough in to 2 x 12 to keep up with drummers in bands (match that impedance, though!!) and was "clean" and uncolouring. Even the size of the volume meant I could gently ride my level when the band got excited. BUT.... After 1 month of use I found I was getting electric shocks from the unit. I isolated it from the rest of my gear and so ONLY the pedal and PSU were in use, and sure enough 5-8V were measured. I could "solve this" by plugging in to an earthed product but that isn't right. Unit is being returned and I'll update you when I have news...
I have it..the power supply is light and you still need a cable either way so not a big deal to me..It sounds fine at high volume but once you start to hit the limit it will compress the highs and lows into a mid focus tone..But by that point it's kind of stupid loud. Just be sure to limit the output of your modeler etc. So you don't overload too much.
Looks good, but the review on the Thomann website mentioning shocks from touching the casing is worrying. It's a "can't try before you buy"product, but returning stuff to Thomann is usually fairly straightforward.
Further to my earlier post, my Harley Benton Thunder 99 (HB T99) arrived a few days ago. I bought this pedal amp to drive two small "value" PA cabs that I bought years ago. The set-up (described below) is for domestic use. I have no intention of using the HB T99 in a rehearsal or live situation, although I have little doubt that the unit has the power handle these scenarios. However, for now, I'm keeping things simple. I took my smallest pedal board (usually populated with a single row of five Boss pedals) and attached a Boss GT-1 mini stomp board to its left and the HB 99 to its right. The Boss hosts my Line 6 Variax (unpowered) (via the mono instrument input) and "Spotify" using a Kindle (via the auxiliary input). In terms of its outputs, the stereo outputs from the Boss, feed the stereo inputs of the HB T99 which, in turn power the aforementioned PA cabs via its stereo outputs. Simples; right? In summary, I now have a very small pedal board armed with a stereo guitar processing unit and a 50W + 50W power stage. It's neat and sounds great (with a tonal quality approaching that of my studio reference monitors). So far, no problems or glitches; and, in particular, the HB T99 can be cranked up for hours on end with no indication of electrical or heat issues with the unit or its power pack. So far, so good...
I've been running this with a NUX Amp Academy and HX Effects through a pair of VHT 1x12 cabs (Mojotone speakers). Plenty loud enough for nearly any club-type gigs. I have had this for about a year, no shock issues (USA) and the power supply fits under my Pedaltrain classic 2 board. I still prefer real amps when I can use them, but many small clubs have such limited space these are a no brainer. Have also use it with just an Ampero, same great results, just had the power supply and amp back with the cabs to save space. Next up, to try the wet/dry thing. The ultimate budget back up solution.
I'm very interested in a full pedalboard rig. All your pedals, a pedal preamp, a pedal power amp. Maybe a pedal cabsim or IR loader for going direct? The stereo function on a single poweramp is ace.
I velcro the power supply to the board perpendicular and mount the unit on the power supply and another pedal to the right of the unit. Everything is shielded so no worries there.
There's a new Harley Benton pedal power amp. GPA 100. It looks like the one from.seymour Duncan (3 band eq) . Not stereo. It would be great if you review it.
Run a Hotone Legacy Mojo Diamond 5 watt Amp Head --- effects loop out (line out) ------ to Harly Benton Thunder 99 so this is a preamp - power amp. Use a wet side Sonicake Rockstage or a Black Hammer for effects. If you want more crunch in dry side preamp, use the Vulcan Five O - 5150. If you want a cleaner Boutique preamp, run the Siva Boogie.
Adapter solution..... attach the pedal to the top of the power box and put the power box on your pedal board. How often are you really going to turn the "amp" on and off?
About the power device for the pedal, here in my country is sold without that but with a single power line. Maybe it's this way because we use 220V and the pedal is built in that voltage. If you live were 110v is the standard electricity power, you MUST use a Voltage converter and they aren't small devices.
If you run a Pedalsnake type snake cable system you can leave that big fat power supply back with your back line and run the power up the snake to the small box . If the output from that supply is DC that is. It doesn't look unlike the power supply box for the Strymon O'Jai system. I think that little power amp might be a great replacement for the 3 ton Crown power amp I currently have to power the speakers for the wet portion of my wet/dry/wet rig.
I don't care what Glenn says about you, I enjoyed this video. Seriously, thanks for showing this amp pedal off. I've been looking for something like this at a decent price point without having to order, try, return, repeat. Good on ya, Henning.
I ordered 2 of them because of this demo video . Carvin mach100 is a 99.99% clone.of this Pedal. Carvin can't make enough of them that's why I ordered this from Thomann in Germany. Carvin mach100 is $199 per pedal. I purchased 2 for $201 including tax and shipping. $201! I will pair this with a TC ELECTRONIC NOVA SYSTEM 2012 a Japanese Girl wah Pedal and a Donner volume Pedal. 2 Custom made Sonic speaker cab with Electro Voice EVM 12L's $201 + $215+ $45+$80 =$541 I have a Hofner Jazzica Custom with a Bartolini floating pickup and a Gibson 1978 ES335TD. Travel/Fly Rig. ***Update you have to buy a European/ World Universal adapter to plug into a U.S.A. wall outlet.***
Probably my headphones but I could hear a difference between the two power amps. Just sounded like a heavily effected weak plastic Helix tone. I could probably use the HB power amp as a back up with an effects unit in case a tube amp goes down at a gig or for power at a practice...or as cheap wet dry wet scenario as you said. Definitely not real amp sounding but hey you get what too pay for. It has it’s place. 🤘🤘🤘
The SD is slightly better than the HB, but nothing that justify the price difference. Also, I am 99% positive that in a mix or a full band, the difference would be impossible to notice. HB clear winner for me
Thank you for this review. I’m new to the guitar playing scene. Haven’t even gotten my guitar yet🤣😂😆 I don’t want a speaker cab yet. I want to preamp the signal with the option of using effects pedals or not and out put straight to my interface. Is that an option with this. And what would you or anyone in the comments recommend.
The Mooer BabyBomb30 has a 24v power supply that is big too. I think the Thunder PS would fit until an Temple Audio 24 Pedal Board. Also it would be great if they just came out with a 50w mono version that had an effects loop in it. No all pedal sound great being jammed in a row. This is probably why the modeler pedals would be a better product to use and adjusting those EQ settings would probably get you close to the depth on the Duncan amp. What about doing a demo on this Thunder with a Preamp Live?
Greetings from rainy Scotland, I stumbled across your channel late yesterday evening, decided that sleep could wait, and spent most of the night working my way through a number of your videos. I was most impressed. I still am. The content, presentation, sense of humour; all excellent. AND, you "seem" to think along similar lines as myself (which might not be a good thing, when I think about it). Of course, you have way more gear than I do and you are a better guitarist than I; so, obviously, I hate you for that. BUT, no matter, you still get full marks. I was also so impressed with your review of the Harley Benton Terror 99 power amp, that I ordered one. However, your comments about the AC power pack got me thinking. Simply put, how would you feel about producing a video about electricity? Thought not; "Ohms", right? Well, not quite. I was thinking more about an episode or two covering the aspects that all musicians need to know about the safe use of electricity. I mean, it doesn't really matter if it comes from a little 9V DC battery, or through a 13A 230V AC mains socket, or via an AC power block delivering multiple, isolated DC feeds; the fact is that the vast majority of contemporary musical technology depends upon it to operate. BUT, there's something else. Put it this way, "Have you ever been electrocuted?" I hope not and I wouldn't recommend it; seriously, once was enough for me. SO THAT'S WHY a short discussion about electricity would be good e.g., how it is supplied to musical equipment, AND how to ensure that it does not damage yourself, anyone else or the technology itself. Just a thought. [PS: I wrote this BEFORE reading the safety concerns about this unit as described below].
Another interesting review. I think a link to their manual would be helpful. I think my use would be to use two cabs, (10" Jensen Mod 4ohms), for my monitor and use whatever backline amp is provided, hooked to the mono "third output". Sounds good but it looks cheap. Set it on that shelf! ;)
"To primitive people, science is indistinguishable from magic" - by that token, Georg Ohm possibly was a wizard in his day (he was German too, so there you go)
I really wish the price of the Powerstage was a bit cheaper. Hopefully Seymour Duncan is genuinely using higher end components in the Powerstage to justify the price. It's probably just my bias associating Class D power amps in the guitar world as being cheap budget offerings. I am still interested in seeing the Powerstage 200 when it's released. Hopefully SD can get you a unit for review soon.
Odd question but, I live in the United States. Will the psu have any issues plugging directly into anything over here? I know their amps have a disclaimer but, this didn’t so I felt like I should ask to be safe.
The mute button is a great feature in itself, I already have my EHX .44 Mag and no need for stereo - but I could have saved a few bucks if HB came out earlier with this.
You should AB it really loud with your helix against the return of one of your high end tube amps..That would be be an interesting video..Especially when Comparing the tube compression at the higher volume against the HB
Bought one, but had to return it. Contrary to their claim, Thomann have not sorted out the electric shock issue. Shame as it is a great product idea if it worked properly.
Nice.. I'd go modeller into EQ pedal into Thunder 99 into cab for more versatility ..or if the modeller already has an EQ pedal thingie in it, then that sorts that problem out. PS. Awesome sweater, Henning 🤘🏽🤣🤣🤣
Is there a colloquial name for things like this? I've seen reviews for more and more of these things, like the SviSound OverZoid and the Baroni Lab Hellraiser, but I don't know what to put into Google to have it spit out a collection of these things. Are they pedal amps? Does this category even have a name at this point?
Nice Review. The question about put a preamp or not should be answered. I think maybe doing a test with a bb xotic or a mxr micro amp to this class d pedal? I still cannot found a serious comparision on real amps to this...maybe because this Is the future. Otherwise, class d poweramps aré really cheap.!!!! 10 bucks..50watts. maybe the real cost here Is the power supply. Thx!
HI! I need some feedback please, thanks. I just purchased this unit and the headphone output sounds really bad, just noise. Furthermore, even at low volumes there is a rather strong mass noise in the Cabs. But the big problem is that even without power the transformer continues to turn on/off in a few seconds, giving my speakers a good beating. The other evening, after playing for half an hour, I turned off the power and could hear these "bumps!" coming from my room and surprisingly it was the unit turning on by itself, pulsing the speakers and then turning off again. Have you noticed anything similar? In your opinion, are all these problems (headphone output that sounds terrible, exaggerated mass noise at low volumes and random switching on when the power is turned off) due to my unit being faulty or do you have the same problems? Thanks to anyone who would like to hear from me again, I would appreciate it very much!
It is not that you need to buy something only because is cheap. In the end you will not be satisfied with it and re-sell it at a very cheap price to buy something that sounds better. Only buy it if it sounds good, safisfying and - most important - INSPIRING for you.
Hi, I have a bit of a long winded question for you, apologies in advance. I've recently bought a Bugera 6262 212 combo amp, and the amp says it should be set to 16 ohms for internal speakers. It has a single 6.3mm speaker lead but two speakers and whatever the input source is it should be 16 ohms. I'm actually going to bypass the speakers and plug into an axetrack isolation cab I managed to get, it's a speaker and an SM57 in a sealed box. It uses the input from where the amp would usually go to a cab, so the amp gets full use, it just goes to the iso speaker instead of the combo speakers. The SM57 picks it up, there's an XLR out which I'm planning to connect to a Behringer UMC22. That plugs into a computer and has headphones out, but to be honest I'm not that bothered about recording, I'm basically using the whole setup as an analog attenuator with air and a mic rather than limiting the signal electronically. I'd like to get the output from the UMC22 to go to the speakers on the amp that I'm using instead of through PC or headphones, I asked on Amazon and someone said that the signal would need a power amp otherwise it would be too weak for the speakers. So my chain is: Guitar > amp section of Bugera 6262 212 combo > iso box with sm57 > xlr > Behringer UMC22 > ...... > speaker section of Bugera 6262 212 combo Can I output from the UMC22 into the Harley Benton Thunder 99, amplify without colouring the sound (at least not too much), then send to the speakers in my 6262 cab? This way I'd be getting all the tone of a cranked up AND cranked speakers, picking up that sound and being able to hear it, AND being able to play without a DAW when I want but also being able to use one when I do but still hearing the sound from a cab with zero latency. The goal is to get the sound of a cranked amp AND speakers that are really pushing air, but at bedroom levels, something attenuators can't do because they lower the signal so the speakers don't work as hard. So what I really need is a way to cleanly amplify the SM57 and get it playing out of my the speakers that are in the combo. So do you think it would work and be safe? I'd rather use my amp speakers than buying more. I don't know, I'm very confused lol. Sorry it's such a long question and thanks for your time.
the problem is gain to be that you are sending the sound of a 12 inch speaker into a 12 inch speaker.. I don’t think that will sound right. Also… the Thunder has instrument level inputs and the interface will give it line level. I would rather recommend a small PA speaker, a powered one… and go out if you interface into that… done.
This seems pretty interesting, I am a rack gear enthusiast and I own a bunch of old tube preamps from the 80s/90s, do you reckon this little guy could power a preamp like the marshall JMP-1?
Orange Rocker 32 Stereo Tube Combo - $1,099. Bad Cat Cub 50/50 head only - $1,299 You forgot about the Orange Rocker 32 which is a stereo combo for much less that a Bad Cat stereo head.
sure you can . it would push a pair of tens no problem at all . i know from experience as i have been building class d amps for years . my latest build is a 600 watt powered mixer .
Would you be able to run it into a D.I. box coming from TC electronic Nova system into a mixing board for Live situation? Would it sound good or like a guitar running into a D.I. box? Thanks
I love my HB Thunder 99. I run it with stereo reverbs and delays. Also, cool to run two different distortion boxes (AMT E1 and SansAmp GT 2 in my case) seperately into the stereo ins. Running two 12" inch 8 ohm speaker cabs with this and its great for recording/home practice but may be a bit too quiet for live however, 4 ohm speakers might be ok for live. Great for stereo ambient guitar sounds. It runs on most voltages (100v to 220v) however, it comes with an E.U. plug so you will need a USA plug adapter (or whatever your countries line voltage plug is) which only runs around $5.00. Yes thomann does deliver this to the USA for a very reasonable shipping cost.
Felix if youre in the USA just go to Radio Shack website and search European to USA voltage adapter plug. They are $2.99...The power supply/transformer (the bulky box thing) works on USA voltage. Its just the wall plug that needs to be adapted from euro to usa.
the only reason I can think of not owning one of these is because of all the kick ass amps I already own, like the ones you have in the background. LOL
I have a Pedal Board designed to go direct to FOH (Front of House). Could I use this to have my board produce more power (increase head room)? I'm trying to see how this could benefit me because i'm intrigued. As always, your vids are the most thorough on the tube.
I wonder howd this go with a real amp and load like a Suhr Reactive Load, feed the line level signal into your stereo fx into this. Also those complaing about lack of wattage, get the rack mounted GPA its 4x the wattage and also stereo.
Henning? Ist das der gleiche wie der nun angebotene GPA-100? Nein, oder? Ich will halt meinen 6505+ verscherbeln und mir einen ToneX+GPA100 holen. This Class D amp technology is amazing. I have 2 Quilter 200 tone blocks running my stereo guitar rig. You can run 4 4x12 cabs with this set up. I run 2 cabs. They always over heated and shut down. I would like to try this Benton amp on a small petal board for a easy grab and go. Plug that thing into a 4x12.
Can it be used in bridged mode like most stereo power amps cab be used? It would be great for a mono rig as usually that doubles the power (the sum of both channels powers). It would be in theory around 100 whats for a single 4 Ohm cab, maybe around 50 watts for a single 8 Ohm cab.

I find the shocking. I wonder if the double priced carvin ones would do the same. They look identical except for the paint job/logo
that sounds scarry... maybe if I buy one and make good grounding mod to avoid shocking effects...
How do order it in the US? I couldn't find a dealer here. Thank you
I'm very interested in a full pedalboard rig. All your pedals, a pedal preamp, a pedal power amp. Maybe a pedal cabsim or IR loader for going direct?
The stereo function on a single poweramp is ace.
Thanks for this video!
A use case I am thinking of for this is a wet/dry/wet setup running the stereo wet cabs.
This guy is fantastic, I love your amp collection, studio, review style and thoroughness. Subscribed.
I velcro the power supply to the board perpendicular and mount the unit on the power supply and another pedal to the right of the unit. Everything is shielded so no worries there.
Carvin are selling the same product with their own brand name for a lot more money.
I was about to comment this very same thing. I'm just 5 months late.
There's a new Harley Benton pedal power amp. GPA 100. It looks like the one from.seymour Duncan (3 band eq) . Not stereo. It would be great if you review it.
Yes please, and try it with a bass guitar as well.
Well if you are a feedback lover hi gain punk rocker, almost between every song you will push mute 😄 but you can always go the tuner for that.
That was my thinking
2 Custom made Sonic speaker cab with Electro Voice EVM 12L's
$201 + $215+ $45+$80 =$541
I have a Hofner Jazzica Custom with a Bartolini floating pickup and a Gibson 1978 ES335TD.
HB clear winner for me
So right to point out how big the wallwart is!
Easy setup for wet-dry-wet, if you use your real amp for the dry signal and 2 cabs over the T99 (sounds like a Terminator)
Thank you for this review.
I’m new to the guitar playing scene. Haven’t even gotten my guitar yet🤣😂😆
I don’t want a speaker cab yet.
Greetings from rainy Scotland,
I stumbled across your channel late yesterday evening, decided that sleep could wait, and spent most of the night working my way through a number of your videos.
Set it on that shelf! ;)
You had phase problems with the stereo and the helix, just saying. Nice lil box!
The bad Cat is 1299 US (so like 1160 Euro) but it is a hybrid design.
"To primitive people, science is indistinguishable from magic" - by that token, Georg Ohm possibly was a wizard in his day (he was German too, so there you go)
4:45 is the money shot !!! That stereo delay is amazing.
I LOVE "Animals at the end" with the fat cat :) I love fat cats !!!
I know their amps have a disclaimer but, this didn’t so I felt like I should ask to be safe.
sir u didn't mention how loud it is?..loud enough for gigging?
The mute button is a great feature in itself, I already have my EHX .44 Mag and no need for stereo - but I could have saved a few bucks if HB came out earlier with this.
I love my EHX 44 paired to my Mesa Tube amps, lightweight simple power that powers my 2x12 on the other side o the room.
Crazy Idea.. Plug in the Radio link direct to the amp, or a small pre-amp and place the amp away from pedal board..
You should AB it really loud with your helix against the return of one of your high end tube amps..That would be be an interesting video..Especially when Comparing the tube compression at the higher volume against the HB
Dude I'm impressed! Do you know how USA residents can buy this?
The HB power amp not as hi-fi sounding to me. It's a bit warmer somehow. Good thing the cheap power amp sounds better to me
Sounds pretty good to me. I would use a 2x12 stereo cab with 4 ohm speakers.
I'm guessing all modelers have some sort of EQ somewhere.. would be crappy if they didn't :).
This is way off topic, but what tele style guitar is that laying in the floor? I love it!
I think this HB -Tunder 99 is copy of Carvin - Mach 100. May be this is the comparison you should do? Thank you for this video.
interestingly, it’s actually the opposite... the Carvin is a HB copy
Thunder 99 vs Magnum 44?
Nice use of “Waterfalls”, was great seeing that come to life. And as I’ve said, I love your sweater...good pickup Leslie.
Small poweramps in pedal size/format?
Thank you for your videos, man! How does it work with a tube preamp?
yes
Sounds cool. That power supply is kind of insane and defeats the purpose of it being so small. Lol. Could be useful in a studio setting though.
If running 2 separate cabinets in stereo do they have to be 8ohms each, or 4ohms each to get the best output from the pedal.
It is not that you need to buy something only because is cheap. In the end you will not be satisfied with it and re-sell it at a very cheap price to buy something that sounds better. Only buy it if it sounds good, safisfying and - most important - INSPIRING for you.
Hi,
I have a bit of a long winded question for you, apologies in advance.
So my chain is:
Guitar > amp section of Bugera 6262 212 combo > iso box with sm57 > xlr > Behringer UMC22 > ...... > speaker section of Bugera 6262 212 combo
Can I output from the UMC22 into the Harley Benton Thunder 99, amplify without colouring the sound (at least not too much), then send to the speakers in my 6262 cab?
At minute 11 i cannot hear a difference between the thunder and the Seymour duncan
What about ground lift and phase issues?
This seems pretty interesting, I am a rack gear enthusiast and I own a bunch of old tube preamps from the 80s/90s, do you reckon this little guy could power a preamp like the marshall JMP-1?
sure
Orange Rocker 32 Stereo Tube Combo - $1,099.
Bad Cat Cub 50/50 head only - $1,299
You forgot about the Orange Rocker 32 which is a stereo combo for much less that a Bad Cat stereo head.
GOOD amp too! The Tremlord 30 is very nice too but not stereo!
The pedal power amp is going to be a trend in 2020
Already is...
Has anyone had experience running one of these small pedal style power amps on bass? Curious to see how one of these would handle that.
sure you can . it would push a pair of tens no problem at all . i know from experience as i have been building class d amps for years . my latest build is a 600 watt powered mixer .
Ohh yes I’m thinking of add this to my WDW rig for the W W part 😃 and I will use the links below 🤑so you get your 2 cents
It only took 4 days to arrive and now I can construct my pedal amp powered WDW board 🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽😀🤗😀 Thats 2k kilometers a day 😳
Would you be able to run it into a D.I. box coming from TC electronic Nova system into a mixing board for Live situation?
Hey man I Wana get this what kind of adapter do I need too get can you send a link or sum
Felix if youre in the USA just go to Radio Shack website and search European to USA voltage adapter plug. They are $2.99...The power supply/transformer (the bulky box thing) works on USA voltage. Its just the wall plug that needs to be adapted from euro to usa.

speaker cable
the only reason I can think of not owning one of these is because of all the kick ass amps I already own, like the ones you have in the background. LOL
I have a Pedal Board designed to go direct to FOH (Front of House). Could I use this to have my board produce more power (increase head room)? I'm trying to see how this could benefit me because i'm intrigued. As always, your vids are the most thorough on the tube.
No, this is to go directly to a cab (turn any cab sim on your pedal board)
I wonder howd this go with a real amp and load like a Suhr Reactive Load, feed the line level signal into your stereo fx into this. Also those complaing about lack of wattage, get the rack mounted GPA its 4x the wattage and also stereo.
Orange Stamp next on your review list?
yes
@@EytschPi42 woohoo!

it seem that some user of this device are getting electrical shocks from this BBW.
I am still waiting for these cabs review...
Am i the only one who thinks that these power amp pedals are still overpriced? It's just a class D amp in a box.
slap_my_hand yes
where do you get them cheaper?
@@bobbyodell8676 A 60 Watt stereo Class D power amp pre mounted board (Texas Instruments) is 5 bucks in any electronic store or the web. Other than that is: cabinet, pot, led, jacks,, paint, power suply, and like 10 minutes to assemble one in a factory line? So yes. They are overpriced now, but I think they are the future. No more reason to big boxes of wood, iron, tubes and heavy transformers. Its like "vinil/CD/mp3/streaming" thing. The benefits are too many for the market to look away. From heavy and costly amps to virtually free now. Purists, nerds and snobs would still want the biggo amps. I still think they are beautiful. But the big market will prefer low weight, cheap, quiet, cool temperature and zero mantainence Class D. In my country (Brazil) there are people making it for like 40 dollars, and handmaking it for 20. Electro harmonix's 44 caliber is like 150 bucks and its a steal. 80% of that is the name in it.
@@vexguine Ahhh indeed.
@vexguine I have built a couple of 100w from £8, pcbs. £10 for all the hardware. They do need a pre amp. I've yet to test them with one of the Harley Benton Di pedals or their True Tone pedals. I've used them for battery powered off grid electro gigs.
does this cause electric shocks? i keep reading reviews saying it does...
I do have a question! Can it be use to power up a mixer, instead of using power speakers you can use passive speakers.
What is the price of the Scott Dixon aluminum 2x12 guitar cabinet?
An impressive sound and tone.
I'm downvoting the weight of my guitar rig.
not sure about the price, you‘d have to contac them
I thought you were going to review the GPA100. Some of us dont play with all those (or any) pedals.
without anything in front of it the amp makes zero sense
Well i got this pretty thing, but i have a problem, i didnt use with a pre amp(yet) só plug to my pedalboard. The rig is, Mooer reecho, Mooer black secret, mosky silver horse, Mooer e Lady , kokko vibe, nano small Stone, guitar. And when i use this pedalboard the delay volume até noon, but when i Turn the black secret it Boost a lot the volume of sound, and with the other amps That never happen. Why this happen?
You can power it with a cioks dc7 on the 24v just need the power cable that suits
I don’t think the DC 7 puts out enoug Amps on 24V to power this
@@EytschPi42 just seen it uses 4.5 amps.
I run a mooer baby bomb off the 24v but that’s 2 amps. The dc7 is 24v, 2amps. Might just stick with the baby bomb
Nice Campaign Like Clockwork's track
Would you keep the IR/Cab settings if running into a Celestion's F12-X200 (FRFR speaker)?
☺️ are thé ohms (résistance) variable ? At higher ohms the power will be lower (because voltage will be constant)
The power supply was designed by Ostfriesen
This Class D amp technology is amazing. I have 2 Quilter 200 tone blocks running my stereo guitar rig. You can run 4 4x12 cabs with this set up. I run 2 cabs. Never have any isuues and they get MUCH louder than I would ever need. I went through the years of owning various Rocktron Velocity amps. They suck in comparison. They always over heated and shut down. I would like to try this Benton amp on a small petal board for a easy grab and go. Plug that thing into a 4x12.
I am waiting for your Headrush pedalboard review.....
Play a Synergy Syn-2 and some stereo fx with that!
0:35 I believe what you were looking for is “Now that the cat is out of the bag!” 😬👍
Great Ohm🤣🤣🤣 and a reaper had to pop out, cool man 🤣🤣
Can it be used in bridged mode like most stereo power amps cab be used? It would be great for a mono rig as usually that doubles the power (the sum of both channels powers). It would be in theory around 100 whats for a single 4 Ohm cab, maybe around 50 watts for a single 8 Ohm cab.
not as far as I know
Sounds better than the Fender DR Tonemaster
Just bought a Mooer Baby Bomb. I now have regrets...
