Only one that compares IMO is Lexington Lab Band's cover IMO, but the fact 2 guys can play this and compare to a large tribute/cover band says a lot about Mike and Jeff
Agreed, except Mr. Masse improves upon most of the original art. Check out his version of 'Nights in White Satin' for high notes that will send shivers up/down your spine.
Check him out back in his pizza parlor days when he covered Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For by U2. It brought tears to my eyes. His cover of Africa by Toto did as well. The guy is amazing.
This song was played at my best friend’s funeral when he was killed at 16. We were learning to play this song at the time. Such an epic cover. Thank you Mike and Jeff.
I have just found this dynamic duo. How could this much talent not have been shouted from the roof tops. clear , precise, timing, all fantastic. thank you.
I can't stop watching Jeff play that flute line at the beginning. It's so simple, but most bass players I know wouldn't have never thought to do that. They would have just waited for the John Paul Jones stuff to play.
This is the best cover of this song ever and probably one of the best covers of any song ever. Mike's vocals and acoustic playing are incredible and Jeff was brilliant on bass.Thes would be as good or better than the original if it had the electric solo. I never thought anyone could do this song so good. Definitely 10 outa 10
I guess this one's perfection as-is. The solo part is held together by the bass, that's really unique, they managed to really keep it acoustic. It's at the same time faithful to the original but different. Genius.
@@GiorgioVVVV I thought exactly the same thing listening to it. I was waiting to see what they did for the the solo. I would have loved to seen them do both, but it worked as is. The vocals were amazing.
This is outstanding. We all know by now that Mike has a great voice, but the bass playing, and the whole package, is amazing. I think we just saw another "Africa" moment here!
It's so good to see Jeff ... Don't get me wrong , I like everyone you play with but, Jeff just reminds me of the quiet dude that just enjoys being enjoyable ...... Maybe Like George Harrison was with the Beatle .. Jeff Rocks :-) Have a happy days dudes !
WOW! Just: WOW! voice, little voice cracks exactly where they should be - emotion, then guitars, 12string, bass ... Jeffs solo and amazing fills. Bass sounds so clear .... WOW! AMAZING! GOOSEBUMPS! This goes on loop. Thank you Mike and Jeff.
Ok. This is September 26th 2024 in Varennes, Québec. This is my favorite cover, ever. I watch and share this every 3 to 6 months with friends because it is so good. I get goosebumps still, almost 15 years later. Félicitations pour une magnifique performance. It is out of this world.
I need friends like you have. I share music with my friends, music that touches your soul, music that sends chills down your spine, and not a single "like" They are music snobs regarding covers. Pathetic eh?
Everytime Mike & Jeff perform, magic happens. Thank you two musical soulmates for your many wonderful covers over the years. Looking forward to many more. God bless you both
When I listen to your music Mike and crew… you make me feel good inside. Released when I was just a boy my piano teacher Mrs. Jones let me pick a piece I liked. No doubt it would be Led Zeppelin. She was aged and when she looked at the sheet music for a bit.. she said oh my.. this looks interesting and played it first time flawlessly

It's really hard to find a Stairway to Heaven cover with no dislikes in their first 5 minutes of existence. Really god job!
OMG, Mike and Jeff, that is truly stunning. Listened through quality headphones, you don't know just how good that sounds. Mike, your voice is better than ever, Jeff, your bass is sublime.
On behalf of guitarists young and old, I would like to thank you for all your videos . Which clearly show everything you are doing on guitar. Having such masterfully crafted songs to listen to and learn from is a priceless gift.
my dad has always been a fan of mike masse. went to a bunch of his cover concert thingos and even got him to say happy birthday to me on my birthday when i was younger. safe to say hes always kinda been apart of our family (music wise bahahah)
It makes me feel so good to see you Mike Masse keep on producing quality in everything you do with your music...The pizza era music is over but you are here more dynamic than ever.My best greeting to you Jeff...your presence was most valuable...we are here waiting for more of your hidden diamonds to be revealed !!
Looking through, was like, wonder if Mike ever covered Zeppelin, long and behold! You and Jeff, give me goosebumps with the vocals and overall musicianship.
I have seen Mike and Jeff twice @ the Viper Room. Caught Mike and Bryce in Long Beach before the world came to a halt. I just saw this video for the first time and boys, holy smoke! You both brought your “A” game. Just Beautifully done. Mike & Jeff are just pure magic together.
Well, there's not much to add. Everything's been said already! It's just awesome! I'm glad everyone can enjoy this fantastic piece now. Thank you both!
Gotta say Mike, I usually pass on by covers of Stairway, cos.....well...... But that was breathtaking. And Jeff lifted to a higher level as well. Not sure it would've worked without him. Weaving a structure through the whole way and building to a pressure wave toward the end. You both added a lot of pleasure to my day. Thanks guys👍
These guys just absolutely blew me away! Mike Masse's vocals and guitar is a masterstroke of perfection and I am absolutely riveted by Jeff Hall's bass performance! It's truly a rare treat for me to see such rich nuance coming from the bass. I could feel the heart and soul interwoven with that instrument and his playing. Fucking beautiful!
What a superb Version! Mike’s voice is perfect for this song. And Jeff using the base as the lead guitar in the last stage was pure genius! Simple but brilliant!
Brings me back to the best days ever! 70’s. I was in high school in SouthernCal and played a helluva air guitar with this blasting in my under dash Kenwood Supertuner! And weed of course! Great job guys.
Beautiful.... From the intro to your very first word was so beautiful. I've followed your channel for a couple of years now and you make us smile when you sing. Thank you.
the best cover (best singing and most accurate guitar playing) of Stairway to Heaven on youtube!!! I am very critical when it's about Stairway to Heaven, almost everyone plays it wrong, but you did it very, very well, and you even did it on acoustic guitars! The bass fits perfectly as well. Great job!
Holy cow that was spectacular !!! All things considered, more impressive than Hearts(with 50 more people) at Kennedy center. Fantastic cover A+++++++++++
Been a fan for like five years or something, so, not surprisingly, I *was* enjoying this at the [very-high] level I *thought* I'd be enjoying it at - and then we get to 6, and... GOD. DAMN. What a jam. What beautiful, musical, perfect, tasteful work from everyone involved. I wish I could be involved in creating such a perfect expression of a beloved thing. Well done, boys. (EDIT: Oh, and the evident thoughtfulness behind the matching of the angles between Mike and Jeff - camera placement, height, backdrop, lighting; the matching - cherry on top.)
Huge Zeplin fan here. I'm like 99% sure this is the best Stairway To Heaven cover ever done. Maybe even better than the original.
Only one that compares IMO is Lexington Lab Band's cover IMO, but the fact 2 guys can play this and compare to a large tribute/cover band says a lot about Mike and Jeff
100% bro, no doubt 🔥
Man he hits those highs at the end. The best cover artist I've ever seen...
Agreed, except Mr. Masse improves upon most of the original art. Check out his version of 'Nights in White Satin' for high notes that will send shivers up/down your spine.
So jealous of his vocal range/control
I was getting ready to make the same exact post now three years later...amazing range. Fabulous cover.
I tuned in just to see if he could hit those high notes. This guy is one hell of a singer.
I agree.
I remember this song when I was 16 years old nice ok
He is a hell of a singer.
Check him out back in his pizza parlor days when he covered Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For by U2. It brought tears to my eyes. His cover of Africa by Toto did as well. The guy is amazing.
YES 👍 Cette version est juste magnifique ☀️❤️
This song was played at my best friend’s funeral when he was killed at 16. We were learning to play this song at the time. Such an epic cover. Thank you Mike and Jeff.
I'm sorry for your loss, may he rest in peace
I have just found this dynamic duo. How could this much talent not have been shouted from the roof tops. clear , precise, timing, all fantastic. thank you.
This guy can sing anything, respect
I can't stop watching Jeff play that flute line at the beginning. It's so simple, but most bass players I know wouldn't have never thought to do that. They would have just waited for the John Paul Jones stuff to play.
you're right
John Paul Jones is actually the one who plays the flute line😉
But JPJ plays the flute line on a keyboard (I don't know what kind)
Amazing rendition..I am 57 years old have listening and playing this song since high school and you nailed it like a perfect 10..Amazing..
This is a fact, no matter what song mike touches turns to gold.
This is the best cover of this song ever and probably one of the best covers of any song ever. ❤🎉
You knock it out of the park everytime, Mike. Your range is insane.
Ten years after Africa, another incredible cover. Without percussions, but it doesn't seem. Amazing bass solo. I expect millions of views again.
Jeff's smirk at the end alone was worth the whole video, and that's quite a deed.
Jeff straight up looks like a wise old wizard.
"YOU. SHALL. NOT. BASS!"
LMAAAOOOOOO
BASS, YOU FOOL!
Lol
This is outstanding. We all know by now that Mike has a great voice, but the bass playing, and the whole package, is amazing. I think we just saw another "Africa" moment here!
Couldn't agree more Mark Davies!
Agreed! Africa is what hooked me but this just soared to another level!
One of the most difficult songs to cover and you did it flawlessly. Incredible!
To play this and sing it expertly is something else!
That subtle bass solo leading into that explosive ending touches my soul in ways I can not explain

Thank you Mike and Jeff.
Bravo Mike and Jeff. That was hands down the best cover of Stairway I have heard in the last 20 years. I was blown away by it. Thank you.
Damn Mike.. your voice just seems to be perfect for all these classic songs you give us. Can't get enough!
I salute his singing skills and is no less in handing rhythm so beautifully. Great duos...don't know how I missed watching them so long.

Unbelievable cover!! Mike and Jeff for the win. And Jeff, that bass line...you killed it.
Jeff is emulating confidence I've never seen... Salute... The new look (Hair & Beard)... looks awesome.... Great job Brother!!
Utah's loss is the world's gain. This is just amazing.
Mike & Jeff tread on Rock's Holy Ground....and....well....WOW!
Now were talking some good 70's music, forget today's music ! Great cover, the kind I like to hear !
Incredible. Hats off again and again to you Mike and Jeff.
Just found this. Can’t stop checking out their flawless covers!
Amazing rendition Mike and Jeff. Using the bass to play the lead was a stroke of genius. Glad they let you release this.
Outstanding. Jeff Hall has to be one of the best bass players I've come across.
Incredible Mike:) Your voice was on point like always.
Pure pleasure!

This was another ‘cover’ that I am completely hooked on. Others have said it and I agree- there is magic afoot when you two are together.
Zeppelin. And add some Hall. Thanks again for all the music! Best 8 minutes of the day!
Looking through, was like, wonder if Mike ever covered Zeppelin, long and behold! You and Jeff, give me goosebumps with the vocals and overall musicianship.
My goodness, this is an outstanding performance!
Me ears are bleedin' with heavenly bliss! Two thumbs up we shan't forget Jeff. Still the best all around singer that this planet has ever heard.
Wow... I'm glad to see Jeff back.
What a performance. Mike's voice with guitar leading and Jeff's bass are simply brilliant. Can't stop listening. Respect to both of you.
Smooth ❤️❤️. Lovely bass nuances by Jeff 👏👏👏👏👏 Awesome

Killed it!
Fantastic cover Mike and Jeff! Nice to see the colab again :)
So authentic, I half expected you to say, “Does anybody remember laughter?”
Ali Osman I'm glad I'm not the only one!
Yes, I'm always tempted to mutter that phrase when I do this live, but I've fought the urge thus far.
When a cover literally gives you chills. I'm amazed as always.
Well, there's not much to add. Everything's been said already!
It's just awesome! I'm glad everyone can enjoy this fantastic piece now.
Thank you both!
Tomorrow my brother passed away 20 years ago. I’ll play this version many times that day. Thank you for the great music
This will be your biggest video Eva!!! Anyone agree??👍 brilliant
Just when I thought it can't get any better, the solo part and the vocals after that came. GOD! ❤
DAT BASS! Amazing cover, guys.
So Happy to see Jeff Hall again. I believe that you two make beautiful music together. I like all the other guys but you two are special together!

Mike actually sounds better than Robert plant.
I just found Mike Masse a few months ago here on the tube, and man am I happy I did. This guy (and friends) is amazing.

Hell yes! Great cover Mike!😄
Was wondering if I just missed this cover during my binge watch yesterday and to my surprise it was posted 7 hours ago! It is a gift!

I held my breath when he was crescendoing up to the high notes 😅....and he hit'em all 👍🍻
I love you both for years.....thank you very much!
