I changed out my oil at 1600 miles went to Ford full synthetic oil 5w30.:2020 ecoboost 3.5;.The sooner you change the better.
Hey John. I change my oil every 3500 miles thats the standard here. I didnt change the viscosity because the engine was built for 5w20 well at least my 5.0 lol. Thanks for the comment John 👍and keep on truckin. Cheers
You do exactly what I do Pennzoil ultra platinum with the motorcraft filter. If I could give any advice, that would be to buy your filter at the Ford dealership, and not on amazon. Amazon has "knock-off" Motorcraft parts for sale on there that look very legit, but are half the quality of the real thing.

Motorcraft makes great filters air and oil!
Tight enough ? Hell, yes way over tight in my book. My brother did this and had to take a torch and cut the filter off, true story.
All good except you should run 5w30 if you really want to step up the protection. 5w20 is “recommended” based on government kick backs and supposedly better gas mileage - that is only noticed if you spread it over 100s of vehicles.
All good I'm on year 7 and only have 29,000 miles on it. The body will fall apart before the engine lol. Cheers
@@f150modsnodds5 That thing is aluminum so you’re good. I’d get some fluid film or blaster surface shield on that frame and undercarriage though. It will last for ever!
Have you ever tried Purolator Boss filters quality?
Have you ever seen Ford filters cut open ? You will be surprised!
Oil you are using is just the best.

Do yourself a favor and bump it up to 5w30 syn oil, the ford motors love to chew up cam phasers my mechanic recommended it and my 2003 is still running strong
FYI Honda and ford has the same oil manufacturer which is: PHILLIPS

Motor craft filters are just paper Napa gold filters are synthetic material around a fine wire mesh that will not break down and get inside your engine and leave fram filters on the shelf there junk
Pennzoil Platinum 0W16 is only available for my 2020 Toyota Camry LE , hoping the Ultra will be available soon .
Ow20 Ultra Platinum Pennzoil is a good for your engine too, and nothing bad if you pour 5w20

Yeah so too many changes after the 17 for sure, I love the 17 headlights better than 18+ . I got this built for me, not from a lot at the dealership, also wanted the 6 speed not 10. 21 f150 cut cyl deactivation on v8. Dodge and Chevy has been having oil consumption. But mabe they dont learn from others.

While using the best oil and filter, the undercarriage of that truck will be shedding rotten parts like that engine shield. Suggest you treat the chassis with oil, zink paint, POR, something! Now. You'll have a clean motor and no chassis around it.

What your lookin for is,... (listen carefully) an SN Plus rating,... 5w20 for your 5 liter,... Penzoil,.. Quaker State,... and Shell Rotella Gas Truck,... are all distributed by SOPUS oil product's,... meaning,... Shell Oil Product's US (United State's..... AND Canada),...simular additive package,... Penzoil Platinum is a good choice,..(nothing like the old pariffin Penzoil,... completely different),... FORGET THE CALLENDER,... MY FRIEND,.... every 3500 mile's,... oil's cheap,... your truck will run forever,... THERE,.... now you got it straight from an oil man,.... your on right track.........

Better go and look at the freezer tests. Pennzoil synthetic flowed far better than Amsoil did at minus 60. Search for the video here on You Tube.
I get sick and tired of hearing about how superior Amsoil oil is, Pennzoil Platinum is just as good under real world conditions. The rich people can fill their boots with Amsoil while I go Pennzoil Platinum and save money instead of throwing it away foolishly.
@@thegoat164 I'm with you on that. Been using Pennzoil Platinum with good results. Just a warning, you will run into Amsoil fanatics here that posture themselves as oil experts but, they are not. One in particular is very arrogant. You can throw all the real world experience at this douche and he always comeback with something else.
You tightened the oil plug too tight and no need to prime that filter
full Synth is good for newer cars but if you have something thats older than 10 years stick with conventional or Semi Synth.
