Can’t thank you enough for sharing this with us. This has been my biggest insecurity and have been thinking of getting this done for years now but don’t know anyone who’s gone thru it.
You're so welcome! I don't know anyone else who has gone through it as well and I know that it can be embarrassing to talk about, so that's why I decided to share my story so that girls can see that a lot of us have the same insecurity and gain some info regarding labiaplasty.
Thanks for sharing. But I would have liked to hear more of how your discomfort levels were. I had mine done, plus did the extra "husband stitch" repair. That part was never done after my 10 lbs baby girl was born. It's been one week now and I am still very uncomfortable, very painful to walk, sit, pee and still having spot bleeding. Doctor say it all looks good. But I'm still very sore, uncomfortable and not feeling secure about "what the hell have I done to my yaya?"
I feel more comfortable now knowing I'm not the only one in the world with this problem. Although I'm not in any pain, I'm not comfortable with the way I look. Like when I'm with my boyfriend I just wanna hide and I just hate it.
Hi, Kylie! Glad you could relate. I didn't know how common this was until I posted this video. Honestly, from my experience, guys don't care what it looks like as long as it's clean! I'm sure your boyfriend loves you and accepts you for the way you are. Although difficult, I would open up to your boyfriend and talk about your insecurities. You may find that he's supportive and you'll feel more comfortable in your body. If he isn't supportive, then that's unfortunate on him!
Hi everyone! Thank you for stirring up a conversation and helping others with the same problem I had. My experience was unique and most likely will not be what you will experience, however, I wanted to share since it's a possibility. What I hope girls take from this is to do your research!! Be educated and informed! Talk to your doctor. Take control of your body. Do what you feel is best for you and makes you happy. For the people commenting to others to not do it because they prefer larger labias.....THIS AIN'T ABOUT YOU!
i just got mine done 2 days ago and when i got home i was bleeding bright red like a period, i didn’t like soak an entire pad or anytbing but i got super scared and called my surgeon and he said it’s very normal to bleed after the numbing goes away. Since then i’ve elevated the area and iced & it’s now just spotting barely! Even then he had me come in next day just to check on it & he said it’s doing fine (: i am an anxious person so i’ve had anxiety about a couple things but so far i’m doing good. No crazy pain or bleeding, it is very swelled and bruised so i’m making sure i take care of it!
Hey can you please describe the healing process ... like what restrictions you have to take and when you can shower, when you feel okay to walk around... etc... :) please and thank you!
Hannah Hi! To answer your question....you can shower whenever after the procedure. I think I waited a day or two for full shower because I showered right before the procedure and I slept most of the days afterwards. I cleansed the area regularly though. Whenever I went to the bathroom, I used a squeeze bottle with warm water to rinse down the area, and then patted it dry with toilet paper. Since I had a complication, my healing took a little longer. So for me, I stopped using the squeeze bottle once all of my stitches came out which was about a month later. It took me about 2 weeks until I walked like normal. I could walk right away after the surgery, (in fact, I drove home after the procedure) but I was waddling for a while, haha. If you end up getting this procedure, I would say take a whole week off to recover. I hope that answers your questions! Let me know if you have any more 🙂
Im happy you shared this because I am 15 and I have my consultation in a month and seeing this just makes me feel more comfortable because I’m so insecure till it literally messes with my mind
Thank you so much for sharing this. Can you explain how you felt emotionally and physically prior to and after the procedure? When were you able to resume normal activities such as going for walks and wearing jeans? Are you happy with the way that it looks?
I really wish this was an option for me. I’m 17 and I’m so insecure about that part of my body. I feel like it’s ugly and undesirable. I experience pain and discomfort from it as well but I’m scared to mention it to my doctor.
Meee to I’m 15 and just say it say to a female doctor they’re professional they won’t make fun of They will understand u but I think u should get it done when ur in ur middle 20s cuz like u need to go through puberty fully I’m insecure everyday to but it is what is over time I’ve started loving it wear loose underwear and loose trousers don’t wear tight bottoms or leggings u just have to go through few days save up money till ur 24 then do it if people say bad things tell them to fuck off don’t get a bf or a man which make fun off u I’m a Muslim I’m gonna get married when I’m 25 so like get it done then yh dw bout it x
I never had a Brazilian done, but I did get laser hair removal a long time ago, even before my surgery and I wasn't too uncomfortable having the technicians seeing my girl parts because I know they've seen plenty
I've always got instructions from the hospital for like every procedure that say if you bleed through a sanitary pad within an hour to contact 911. I don't understand how they let you go when you were still bleeding so profusely. Girl, I was so stressed for you but I'm glad everything turned out well. ❤
I don't know what goes in in the US, but in Australia, no reputable doctor would allow discharge if somebody is soaking a pad full of blood in 30 seconds.
I wasn't bleeding out until I left the building. I should've went back in, but I was stubborn and thought it may subside because I usually clot and heal pretty fast. That was on me and had I went back in and talked to the doctor, he would've done something about it.
@John Doe What an unnecessary and rude comment. Many women have a magnitude of issues resulting from enlarged inner labia. This is a necessary procedure for many women.
Are u still able to feel sensation during intercourse? Sorry if the question is too personal. Just really curious and considering getting this done too
Yes! The surgery did not affect the clitoris or vagina so all sensations are the same! Well, after you completely heal that is, haha. Wouldn't want any intercourse for a good few weeks!
Thank you, as an RN, we are taught to be non-judgemental. I did not watch all of second video, but do you realize how many women you have helped by sharing? Men as well helping them understand. I also did not realize it was so big an issue. Before you mentioned it, I thought “wedge resection” And yes, forget about any man or S.O., your pain, your choice. You have helped many just answering questions. Really a shame it is not covered if medically necessary as stated before. It should be like any other painful condition. Stay safe, help others
So I almost didn’t want to get a labiaplasty after hearing your experience because it scared me so bad 😂 but I ended up doing it! I’m on day 2 of recovery now. How are you now?
For the ones that have done this how many days did you take off of work?? I had it done on a Friday morning and planned on goin back on the next Friday but its Tuesday and im not so sure ill be able to go back Friday.
I honestly don't remember how long it took me to heal completely - it's been just about 11 months since this procedure. I want to say at least a month to two months. I went to my gyno a few weeks ago and he's happy with the results as am I. I was thinking of doing an update one year later, so by end of October, I will probably make a video and talk about it.
Insurance does not cover labiaplasty - they categorize it as cosmetic surgery (not a necessity). And honestly, I don't notice any scarring, but technique could play a part in that. Also, if there is any scarring, all scars fade away eventually. My gynecologist made sure to make mine look as natural as possible since I wasn't going for just looks, but for comfort since that was my main reason for undergoing this procedure. Hope that answers your questions!
This seems to be several thousand (in my area )now. Like implants cost.. top quality ones. This was 1-2k Tops back when I first googled ten years she. Hmmmmmm greedy docs much? I can’t gelieve if you have pain or discomfort insurance won’t cover it at least in part. Unfair .
here to see another person's experience as I recover from mine. Im so sorry about your experience, that sounds so scary. This is a very painful procedure!
I'm going to do this in December. Hope it's going to fine and considering that I keep having the area burning most to the time due to friction it shoudl really improve my life quality. I also have vulvodynia so I just want to diminish the amount of pain and sensitivity in the labia. The part they'll remove is very painful and it burns at touch.
Kind of a personal question but do you know if they used a scalpel or the laser tool during surgery? I couldn't see you bleeding that much from the laser because as far as I know, that's supposed to cauterize as it trims. So sorry you had to experience something so scary.
Hi! I am not too sure actually since I did not watch the procedure. I am guessing a scalpel. And I'm glad that I could share my story so that others can do their research and learn from you guys who have knowledge on it!
Like i have a question because I’m supposed to get one of these done on December 20th and I’m extremely scared. So I basically have an extra loop in my labia minora, and I’m 14, I’m extremely scared of needles, yea u know 😂. So did they give you an IV? I’m planning on getting put to sleep because I definitely don’t want to be awake. I’m really scared and I’m trying not to show it. Should I shave or something before? I’m freaking out lol
They can give anesthesia through a mask or sedation through an IV. That depends on the surgeon and you could probably ask them what to expect so you can get the full details. They should go over the procedure with you beforehand and explain the risks and steps. And I wouldn't shave since there's a risk of cutting yourself and having an increase risk of infection before the surgery. They'll shave you if need be.
girl, i'm 27 and i've been dreaming to have this surgery done since i was 14, girls who have this problem can know very early on (if the condition is severe). however, i would definitely say wait till you're at least 20 to do it, because that part of your body can still change and mature till around that age, and you wouldn't want to get it done too soon only to have the surgery be a waste all because your body wasn't done growing. i'm researching on it atm and will be consulting a doc very soon, can't WAIT.
So sorry you went through that!! I think plastic surgeons perform the procedure more often, and they really know what they're doing, so maybe that's overall a better option than a gyno? How are the results now? Was it worth it? Also, did you still have to pay if your gyno did the surgery? Bless you for posting this. This has helped many scared and ashamed young women!! ❤️
I'm glad that you found my video helpful! And after my experience, I agree that perhaps a cosmetic surgeon would be more appropriate for this type of procedure since they perform it more. However, I'm happy with the results and I don't have those problems with my lady bits anymore (e.g. getting caught in my panties and rubbing against my thighs). I went with my gyno because he's someone I've been going to for years and am familiar with him. And yes, I had to pay for my surgery. Insurance does not cover this procedure because it's viewed as a cosmetic procedure - so not medically necessary.
Because of your young age, you're considered a minor and would need parental permission to get it done. If your parents let you do it, I would get a consultation first and get professional medical opinion on your options.
Thank you so much for posting this! I’ve been thinking about getting this for years but I’m terrified. I’m sorry you had a rough experience :/ Overall, are you happy with your procedure? (Sorry if you said this in the video I haven’t finished watching yet.)
I am happy with the results, not so much with the procedure itself if that makes sense hahaha. The procedure was all right, but it could've been much better
I'm doing great! It's been about 3 months since my procedure and I'm back to my routine and doing my usual activities. The procedure took care of all of the issues/discomfort I was having with my lady bits. There are times when it swells up a bit, but that's mainly when I'm on my time of the month. Other than that, it's been good! With any type of surgery, I believe that everything fully heals in 6 months to 1 year. So while it's healed for the most part, I'm looking forward to how it'll be next year. Hope that helps! Just remember that there are pros and cons to everything, and even the simplest procedures have risks and benefits. Everyone has different experiences, so be confident in your decision. You don't want to go into something half-heartedly. And I think it's natural to feel scared for surgery. Some doctors/surgeons can give you an anti-anxiety medication before the procedure to help relieve anxiety. Be sure to get a consult first!
HKitizzle thanks for replying! It's definitely something I'm going to do. I just hope I'm not one of them that ends up losing feeling downstairs. Glad to hear you healed well and things are going great for you! You had the wedge method, right?
Brittany Shawntel hi there ! Just wanted to comment that I have done my surgery 3 weeks ago had the " trim" , I was very scare too! The anestesia The dr use I was not able to feel all my bottom from the waist to feet , But it was so painless after that I just need it some Advil the first days and just ice , I wish I had it done 20 years ago !!! Still for me to the touch is very tender , but I am wearing normal clothes since week 2 , it looks great! And can't wait to see how it will be in a couple of months , everything will be fine!
Hi Takwa! I'm sorry that you're in pain. I didn't have any burning when I got mine done - just soreness and aching. Icing helped that a lot. Pain meds didn't do much for me. I don't know why you're having a burning sensation, and I am no expert in this matter so I suggest you contact your surgeon or whoever worked on you to seek their advice. Best of luck and I hope you heal fast!
If this was an audio book id be squirming and covering my face just the same as i am now as you explain the blood loss and ect............. The horror!!!!!
Hey! Sorry for the late reply. 3 years later and it's like I didn't have the surgery at all. No scars and everything has been back to normal for years now. I still like the end results and no complications afterwards :)
Everything healed in about 1-2 months. Granted, I did have a little complication, so that may have made my healing process take a bit longer. Also remember, everyone heals differently and at their own pace!
No, I totally get it! I was uncomfortable with my body when I was a teenager as well, especially with my lady parts. However, your body is still growing and maturing, so I'd recommend until your 20's when your body reaches full maturity. At your age and as a minor, you would need consent from your parents to get the procedure done as well.
That bleeding does sound really bad I think you needed to stay at the hospital after the procedure rather than being sent home if the bleeding hadn’t stopped. Glad you’re ok and thank you for the video x
Anna Briggs Thanks for watching! I did the procedure outpatient, and this is usually not done in the hospital. People go home right after, but I should've listened to my gut and went back inside the clinic to get it checked. That was my fault, but I'm doing good now!
thanl you for sharing this and being so open (no pun intended lol ) about it. It tells woman of any age that if you are uncomfortable , it can be done :there are options.
lamingtongirl123 I did not do it for cosmetic reasons. Gynecologists won't do the procedure unless there's an actual reason, such as pain and discomfort - which I was going through on a regular basis, but never spoke about
HKitizzle oh that’s understandable. One of my labia minora is longer than the other and while it’s not uncomfortable it does look ugly tbh. I could never live with myself knowing I was vain enough to cut it and make it symmetrical though.
lamingtongirl123 From girls I've talked to, it is common to have one side longer than the other. And even with the surgery, it's not perfectly symmetrical (I think it's because I went to a gynecologist and not a plastic surgeon) but has reduced in size and is not getting caught in my panties anymore
HKitizzle how long is the healing process? Can you work while it heals or have you taken time off? It sounds painful! Can’t imagine doing 12 hour shifts whilst healing...
lamingtongirl123 Everyone heals differently, but the recovery time is usually between 4-6 weeks. I went back to work about a week and a half after the procedure, and I'm still healing. I currently still have stitches in place and there are times when it gets pretty uncomfortable, but I'm able to walk without any issues (I was waddling a lot before, and I wanted to make sure I stopped waddling before going back to work). The first night back was a bit rough, but do-able!
Can’t thank you enough for sharing this with us. This has been my biggest insecurity and have been thinking of getting this done for years now but don’t know anyone who’s gone thru it.
You're so welcome! I don't know anyone else who has gone through it as well and I know that it can be embarrassing to talk about, so that's why I decided to share my story so that girls can see that a lot of us have the same insecurity and gain some info regarding labiaplasty.
albitabonita11 don't worry much about that.. most of the guys doesn't mind what's happening on a woman's labia.. love yourself..😉
Thanks for sharing. But I would have liked to hear more of how your discomfort levels were. I had mine done, plus did the extra "husband stitch" repair. Me too also.......
Kylie A. What does your boyfriend “think” of it?
Same! I don’t even want to be eaten out or have sex with the light on ☹️ I hate hiding. I can’t wait until I can afford this procedure

I have anxiety when you started talking about how much you bleeding 😭 i want to get it done but now I’m scared

I never had a Brazilian done, but I did get laser hair removal a long time ago, even before my surgery and I wasn't too uncomfortable having the technicians seeing my girl parts because I know they've seen plenty
A professional waxer will not comment on your vagina. If you have longer labia they will just move it to the side in order to lay down the wax.

You're welcome! And I did a one year later video to follow up on. It's on my channel
I’ve been wanting a labia plasty do so long it’s very expensive here in Canada but it’s a huge insecurity for me and it’s so uncomfortable 😣
I would look into consulting a plastic surgeon or gynecologist! Wouldn't hurt to get information and pricing.
How are you doing now? I'm really thinking about getting this done but everyone is scaring me lol!
Yes, I had the wedge method! Scarring is barely visible and the method made more sense to me aesthetically and technique-wise. Best of luck to you!!!!
Glad that you're recovering well and fast, Gretchen! Thanks for sharing your story!!
Hello I got mine done today I’m in pain and can’t sleep didn’t is it normal it is burning like hell down there
I feel much better now 😍 burning is gone and I’m Almost Back to normal💕💕
@@takiwithlove347 Yay!!! So happy to hear! 😁😁😁
You are so brave thank you!
If this was an audio book id be squirming and covering my face just the same as i am now as you explain the blood loss and ect............. The horror!!!!!
Haha, sorry for making you squirm!!
Do you have any scar in there?
None at all!
Where did you get it done please? I always wanted to get mine done i am so affraid..
This sounds terrifying 😭😭 but also isn't it super expensive?
Did you have any bruising during the healing period? Did the area look darker while it was swollen?
I honestly do not know. My labia are naturally darker in color, so if it bruised, I wouldn't have been able to tell.
@@HKitizzle Thank you so much for answering! Were you on any antibiotics after the procedure?
@@mariamusoga You're welcome! And no, I was not on any antibiotics
How old were you at the time of the surgery?
27 years old
Did you have severe swelling?
From what I remember, not at all. I think it was swollen for the first few days, but went down fairly fast
Hi! How r u feeling now?
Hi! This was done 5 years ago and I'm feeling fine now! No issues at all 🙂
How much did this cost you?
thanks for sharing!
You're welcome!
Thankyou soooo much!!! This video really made feel a bit more relaxed and understood a bit more about it
You're welcome! I'm glad I could be of some help!
what day are you on when you’re going to the store n stuff? 💖
Sorry for the late reply, but I think I took a week off from work so that I could recover, and then I was back to work right after
I just stumbled into this.Where the granny panties due to the labiaplasty. How are you doing three years after the labiaplasty ?
Hey! Sorry for the late reply. 3 years later and it's like I didn't have the surgery at all. No scars and everything has been back to normal for years now. I still like the end results and no complications afterwards :)
@@HKitizzle great to hear this .Are you in Florida ?
how long did it take u to feel 100%
Everything healed in about 1-2 months. Granted, I did have a little complication, so that may have made my healing process take a bit longer. Also remember, everyone heals differently and at their own pace!
HKitizzle i really want to get the surgery but i’m 16 so i’m not sure. sorry TMI but it’s very uncomfortable lol
Maybe a bit of a weird question but can I ask what did men think of it? Like did any guy ever say anything about it?
before you had it done
No, no one ever said anything about it. I don't think they really cared to be honest 🤷🏻♀️
That was my fault, but I'm doing good now!
yeah so im gonna get this done and i think for after it imma buy adult diapers i hope it works tho
Is the pain very terrible after the surgery ?
Honestly, it was more uncomfortable than painful. Icing it for the swelling worked the best for me and the discomfort was tolerable
thanl you for sharing this and being so open (no pun intended lol ) about it. It tells woman of any age that if you are uncomfortable , it can be done :there are options.
I just booked mine and a breast augmentation for January
hope you're feeling better !!!!
Thanks, love! I'm doing so much better!!
Damn that's all the comments 😭
Doctor puts us out in Australia so fully asleep
who does the labiaplasty ? a gynecologist or a plastic surgeon or either one ? can it be done by an ob/gyn ?
A cosmetic surgeon and/or ob/gyn. My ob/gyn was the one who did my procedure
Did you this for cosmetic reasons? Doesn’t sound worth it unless it’s uncomfortable on a daily basis
lamingtongirl123 I did not do it for cosmetic reasons.
Hope you feel better soon !:)
The Long Road to Nursing School...Jenny's Journey Thank you!!
That is so scary 😔
Oh why I'm here..
I don't know, but welcome!
HKitizzle maybe i was just attracted to you.. or your topic was amazing.. 😅 little bit curious.
Nothing wrong with that! Hahaha
Well for me it doesn't matter if there's an extra skin on the labia or whatever happened to it.. sometimes i found it beautiful.. 😄🤣
Thanks. I didn't do it for aesthetics and for guys. I did it for myself!
