Astrid Nolasco So I’m only on Day 4 of my recovery. It’s been pretty rough. The pain is excruciating. I was told to take 1 Oxy every 4 hours for pain. I had to up that to 2 Oxy every 4 hours - I can still feel a lot of pain even with uping the dosage. I’m going back to the doctor later today for a follow up, hopefully they can prescribe me something stronger. Sleeping is non existent. I find that if I’m not constantly icing the area/putting ointment on it - if I happen to fall asleep for a couple hours - I wake up with unbearable pain. The lack of proper sleep and pain has been the worst parts so far. The best parts are looking in the mirror and not seeing them hanging there anymore and peeing lol. When I used to pee before the pee would almost trickle down my labia lips into the toilet and that obviously doesn’t happen anymore. I can’t wait to see what it looks like when it’s fully healed. Right now I’m very swollen so it’s hard to tell. I got the surgery because I was uncomfortable with how large my labia was since I was about 12/13. I never knew about Labiaplasty until I was in my early 20’s (I’m 30 now) so this surgery has been something I’ve been looking into for about 10 years. I wouldn’t wear bikini bottoms in the water, only loose shorts because of the bulkiness. My labia was always getting twisted and tangled which was very painful. They would chafe to the point where they would bleed. I never wore leggings or tight shorts. My biggest regret was not getting the surgery done sooner - even with all the pain I’m in currently. I’m happy for you that the cosmetic aspect isn’t that much of a concern. For me personally it was because I had boyfriends who assumed my labia lips were large due to promiscuity - even though they were like that since before I even hit puberty. I was called a “sl*t” and a “wh*re” I was mercilessly made fun of. Words that my vagina was described as were “wrecked” “wizards sleeve” “beef curtains” “overstuffed suitcase” and the list goes on. So that definitely was a factor in myself personally getting the surgery. I would definitely recommend doing your research extensively. It took me 10 years and in that time the price went from around $2,000 as the norm to now $5,000+. My surgery was not covered by insurance. I knew after my first consultation with my doctor that I made the right choice. I felt like she really listened to me and was very empathetic as to why I was getting the surgery. She also made me feel confident about what my results would be. I basically sent her a folder I had been keeping with all my post surgery hopes for how I wanted my labia to look after surgery. She also told me that after 6 weeks if I feel like I need it - she can go back in and laser remove any unevenness, bumps, ect. So on Thursday it will be exactly 2 weeks since my surgery. I’m finally starting to feel a little better. It’s been rough!! That first week was very painful and extremely difficult to get through. I can sleep through the night now. The pain is manageable at this point with Ibuprofen. The area is super itchy (which is normal) from healing. I’m no where near out of the woods yet - I still have stitches in and I’m still very swollen. The total cost of my surgery was $4,350 with about an added $150 for post and pre op supplies. So far I love the way it looks!! Fina Armania its normal yes, but if you are experiencing pain/discomfort/infections due to your labia then surgery is definitely okay to consider. That being said I think someone should definitely wait until they are an adult due to the body still growing especially as a teen.

I was same way very insecure bc I didnt like the way it looked my lips were stretched out & dark looking. I did the surgery & it looks much better I'm happy I did it. Only thing u must rest & stay put following dr instructions bc I made that mistake of running around and lifting heavy objects after surgery & I popped a few stitches

I complained to my dr but I didnt get re-stitched I was just told to let it play out and now there is a split but its not noticable unless I emphasis it to my partner during sex which of course I don't lol. I still like the way it looks and feel so much better about the appearance I'm very happy and not conscious anymore during sex I recommend it
Thanks for the informative video and sorry for my English. I just had the surgery 6 days ago. It was amazing!!! From the 2nd day after it got less swollen, I felt it was so worthy. One side of my labia was very long and went outside of the labia majora. I used to get it out of the way by pinching it out from outside of my clothes which looked weird if someone saw. Now I still did that naturally and then realized that it was such an automatic behavior that I did for 30 years. How many people had seen that lol ! Now just can't believe that I don't have to do that anymore. Even now it is a bit swollen but it doesn't bother me as much as it did for all of my life. Even on the 3rd day, I walked even more comfortably than before surgery! Plus, in Thailand, my home country, Labiaplasty is cheap. The surgery performed in a famous/good hospital will not cost more than 850 US dollar. Mine was only 570 US dollar!

I personally had my clitoral glans completely denervated in a clitoral hood reduction done without my consent during a labiaplasty. My labia minora were completely removed. NONE of these experts have mentioned risks of dorsal nerve injuries in peer reviewed literature on clitoral hood reductions. The course of the dorsal nerves of the clitoris is generally not in OB/GYN or plastic surgery literature. There has been very little effort to establish training standards to keep patients safe. They claim positive results, but how often are outcomes really evaluated properly? Also, the fact remains that most doctors are doing these without training.

Arnica Montana (herb) literally reduced my swelling down to half once I took them within two days of starting on the “boiron arnica montana 30c 80 pellet” my doctor told me to take 5 of them two times a day until they are gone. Make sure you let them dissolve under your tongue. Also, when the itching started I put an ice pack and it helped a lot bc the itching was horrible 🥴 I’m 8 days post opp and because of me eating healthy, arnica Montana, and resting I feel amazing and my stitches are healing very fast

I don't remember where I heard this but from what I know, they want you to wait until you're fully developed because you're still growing and maturing. I know it sucks, but I'd wait. I'm 22 and just considering getting it done.

quick questions what period products are you not aloud to use during 4 to 6 weeks of healing. like you have your surgery and by the time it heals your period could come along if you have regular cycle. So I'm menstrual cup user and cloth pad user. I discontinued the use Tampons and disposable pads for chemical reasons. So I'm guess stick to pads until its completely healed ?

For over a week after the surgery though - I was in A LOT of pain. It’s gotten a lot better now but initially I was in excruciating pain even while taking prescription pain medicine. I just found out that this is not normal? My other labia is longer too but I dont usually feel uncomfortable with it so i dont bother much about it. But there are still circumstances that it hurts and I feel this when I wear jeans or shorts. Hi there. The reason I got mine done a week ago was exactly because of this. Mine were maybe two inches long (?) and they rubbed with my underwear and with my thighs so it would bleed sometimes. I went to a gynecologist and they told me insurance would cover a labiaplasty surgery and well I went through with it.
I did on November the third method and didn't work well I don't know why! And the hood with the remaining labia they are not heal connected I done second OP this week and today it looks it's going separate again!! It cannot be never connected?? Does laser cutting cause the area to bleed alot like knife cutting? Ive heard some people i know whom underwent knife cutting had complications and had to sleep the night at the hospital.. i think it does make a different and is better to use laser, true?
Anyone knows if this is normal? It's been a week since my surgery and at first the pain was tolerable but these last four days the area has been really itchy and since my clitoris is a bit (long?) I don't know how to describe it, it's really sensitive and it rubs with the pad to the point it hurts. I also started my period four days ago and trying to sleep facing up has been really difficult since the blood travels up my butt and stains my undie. Do you know how long it usually takes for the pain to subside? I start school in 11 days and right now I can't even walk. P.s they gave me cooling wiped, a numbing spray, and some treatment so it can heal faster but I still don't think it's working 🥲 I'm in pain Edited: Also, my insurance covered it because my lips were too long to the point they would rub with my undie and bleed so it interrupted with my daily activities.
my date is set for 12/18!!! the doctor's office im going thru said they can do local or general anesthesia, for a substantial price difference. ughh I'm so nervous that i think I'll opt to be put under! how bad is the pain?? and are they going to send me home with just tylenol?
My pain was a 7/10 and I was awake for mine lol. They will send you home with pain pills and a post opp instructions on what to do for after care. Make sure you drink lots of water before and after and listen to everything your doctor says.
My pain throughout the entire process was a 3-4/10 was only taking ibuprofen and i was awake. I think the pain will vary per person! My surgeon prescribed me tylenol with codene but i never had to take it.

I was same way very insecure bc I didnt like the way it looked my lips were stretched out & dark looking. I did the surgery & it looks much better I'm happy I did it. Only thing u must rest & stay put following dr instructions bc I made that mistake of running around and lifting heavy objects after surgery & I popped a few stitches

@@myapuello4675 I actually popped a few stitches on one side of my vulva where it's a split now although its healed. I complained to my dr but I didnt get re-stitched I was just told to let it play out and now there is a split but its not noticable unless I emphasis it to my partner during sex which of course I don't lol. I still like the way it looks and feel so much better about the appearance I'm very happy and not conscious anymore during sex I recommend it

Thanks for the informative video and sorry for my English. I just had the surgery 6 days ago. It was amazing!!! From the 2nd day after it got less swollen, I felt it was so worthy. One side of my labia was very long and went outside of the labia majora. I used to get it out of the way by pinching it out from outside of my clothes which looked weird if someone saw. Now I still did that naturally and then realized that it was such an automatic behavior that I did for 30 years. How many people had seen that lol ! Now just can't believe that I don't have to do that anymore. Even now it is a bit swollen but it doesn't bother me as much as it did for all of my life. Even on the 3rd day, I walked even more comfortably than before surgery!
Plus, in Thailand, my home country, Labiaplasty is cheap. The surgery performed in a famous/good hospital will not cost more than 850 US dollar. Mine was only 570 US dollar!

Since a lot of women like to comment and say that they’ve had this procedure done and then not give any updates or anything to the women that ask them about it - I’m commenting to say that I just had Labiaplasty with a clitoral hood reduction done on August 20th 2020. Before my procedure I was watching videos on UA-cam about Labiaplasty and reading through comments looking for advice from women that got it done. No one responded to me or anyone else who commented them asking about it. So if anyone wants to ask me any questions feel free and I will happily tell you anything you want to know. I personally had my clitoral glans completely denervated in a clitoral hood reduction done without my consent during a labiaplasty. My labia minora were completely removed.
NONE of these experts have mentioned risks of dorsal nerve injuries in peer reviewed literature on clitoral hood reductions. The course of the dorsal nerves of the clitoris is generally not in OB/GYN or plastic surgery literature. There has been very little effort to establish training standards to keep patients safe. They claim positive results, but how often are outcomes really evaluated properly? Also, the fact remains that most doctors are doing these without training.

Arnica Montana (herb) literally reduced my swelling down to half once I took them within two days of starting on the “boiron arnica montana 30c 80 pellet” my doctor told me to take 5 of them two times a day until they are gone. Make sure you let them dissolve under your tongue. Also, when the itching started I put an ice pack and it helped a lot bc the itching was horrible 🥴 I’m 8 days post opp and because of me eating healthy, arnica Montana, and resting I feel amazing and my stitches are healing very fast

I don't remember where I heard this but from what I know, they want you to wait until you're fully developed because you're still growing and maturing. I know it sucks, but I'd wait. I'm 22 and just considering getting it done.

I will have the trim, so thats the straight across. But if you want to look more “natural” you can go fot the triangle wedge. You can look images up and see the difference, its up to you what you prefer.

Probably. But you should wait until you’re 22 for your body to catch up as by that age your labia majora will probably have caught up.

Ashley Flynn I’m not a doctor but I’m pretty sure you can get it done at any age (reasonably of course) I would say the youngest i have heard is 15. but you have to wait until you are 18+ to get it done without your parent’s permission. (i’m pretty sure)
quick questions what period products are you not aloud to use during 4 to 6 weeks of healing. like you have your surgery and by the time it heals your period could come along if you have regular cycle. So I'm menstrual cup user and cloth pad user. I discontinued the use Tampons and disposable pads for chemical reasons. So I'm guess stick to pads until its completely healed ?
Just regualr pads. I prefer organic cotton pads like Maxim Hygiene

Diva Boo so on Thursday it will be 2 weeks since my surgery. I was not awake for the surgery and was under anesthesia. The surgery itself did not hurt. For over a week after the surgery though - I was in A LOT of pain. It’s gotten a lot better now but initially I was in excruciating pain even while taking prescription pain medicine.
I asked my doctor once I was awake from surgery if I could see the extra labia they cut off. They held it up and showed me it but I barely remember what it looked like because I was coming out of anesthesia so everything is a little fuzzy to remember. I didn’t keep them no lol I think they just get disposed of. I read a story though about a woman who saved her labia after she got Labiaplasty and made a necklace out of it lol.
It cost me $4,350 plus an extra $150 for post surgery medications and supplies. Insurance did not cover any of it.
So far I really like the results. Everything is very swollen so it’s hard to tell what my final results will be.
I still have a lot of swelling and my stitches are still in. I’m 30 and I’ve wanted this surgery for over 10 years. My only regret so far is that I didn’t get the surgery done years ago when I initially wanted to do it in my late teens/early 20’s. I got the my surgery not purely for cosmetic reasons. My labia were very long and would get twisted and tangled when I walked. They would even bleed sometimes from chafing against my thighs. It was absolutely ridiculous.
I’m not sure how to lighten labia - I didn’t even know wanting a lighter colored labia was a thing lol. Whatever you do though, don’t try to do anything to your body (especially your vaginal area) - without really researching or having a professional do it. It’s a very sensitive area and you could really hurt yourself. I’m sure you know all this lol just saying though. You sound like you might be young so just looking out.

I just found out that this is not normal? My other labia is longer too but I dont usually feel uncomfortable with it so i dont bother much about it. But there are still circumstances that it hurts and I feel this when I wear jeans or shorts. Its like my labia is misplaced and being crashed between my thighs and the cloth scratches on it, that when it hurts the most and i was like walking and feels the need to suddenly fixed it. Hi there. The reason I got mine done a week ago was exactly because of this. Mine were maybe two inches long (?) and they rubbed with my underwear and with my thighs so it would bleed sometimes. I went to a gynecologist and they told me insurance would cover a labiaplasty surgery and well I went through with it.

Does laser cutting cause the area to bleed alot like knife cutting? Ive heard some people i know whom underwent knife cutting had complications and had to sleep the night at the hospital.. i think it does make a different and is better to use laser, true?
Not true. It is really surgeon's choice and skill. Bleeding is always a risk of any surgery but we have never, ever had an issue.

Anyone knows if this is normal? It's been a week since my surgery and at first the pain was tolerable but these last four days the area has been really itchy and since my clitoris is a bit (long?) I don't know how to describe it, it's really sensitive and it rubs with the pad to the point it hurts. I also started my period four days ago and trying to sleep facing up has been really difficult since the blood travels up my butt and stains my undie.
Do you know how long it usually takes for the pain to subside? I start school in 11 days and right now I can't even walk.
P.s they gave me cooling wiped, a numbing spray, and some treatment so it can heal faster but I still don't think it's working 🥲 I'm in pain
Edited: Also, my insurance covered it because my lips were too long to the point they would rub with my undie and bleed so it interrupted with my daily activities.

my date is set for 12/18!!! the doctor's office im going thru said they can do local or general anesthesia, for a substantial price difference. ughh I'm so nervous that i think I'll opt to be put under! how bad is the pain?? and are they going to send me home with just tylenol?
My pain was a 7/10 and I was awake for mine lol. They will send you home with pain pills and a post opp instructions on what to do for after care. Make sure you drink lots of water before and after and listen to everything your doctor says.
My pain throughout the entire process was a 3-4/10 was only taking ibuprofen and i was awake. I think the pain will vary per person! My surgeon prescribed me tylenol with codene but i never had to take it.

Just like normal. The urethra is not affected
Under the shower is the best, so the pee doesn't burn the wound!
I’m quite susceptible to infections, but also am allergic to many antibiotics haha, how often do infections happen with this, and do you need to take antibiotics after the procedure?
We do prescribe antibiotics for 5 days after the procedure. We have never had an infection in one of our patients.
