    That's about right but little too much wheel spin off the line. This car can achieve full boost at 2k rpm so high revs at launch don't really help you here. Shifts were a little slow as well and the power peak is at 5500 rpm so probably best to shift at 6k at the most. Close to 6 seconds with a rough around the edges driving? still not bad but you can get this car into the 5s with proper technique. 0-100 in 15 seconds is also good for stock.

      I agree. I own ST and above 6200-6300 it simply does not want to pull anymore. Look at the movie how speedo slowa down above 6k. At 6k you need to shiiiiiiiftt it ;-)

      +Hugh Jass slow? You might want to look up the meaning of that in the dictionary ;) Same goes for "small" it is just a normal sized family hatchback. And what is wrong with a 4 cylinder engine? Over here in Europe most cars have 4 or 3 cylinder engines, because of tax issues.

    • @TheDutchguy18
      @TheDutchguy18 9 років тому +1

      Hugh Jass Yeah, I guess in America its normal and not that expensive, in Europe it is so expensive :(
      If you would buy a Ford Mustang V8 (2015) in my country (Netherlands) it would cost about €100.000 which is about $111.130,00
      Why is it so f*cking expensive you ask? Because of taxes. We call it ''BPM" and it is an abbreviation of ''Belasting personen en motorvoertuigen'' or in English, car and motorbike tax''
      It depends on how much emissions the car has. If we wouldn't have to pay those taxes, a mustang would cost about €64.000 or $70.000
      But on the contrary we do have a nice health care system. So we got that going for us, which is nice :D

      Even the new F type has very less traction and GRIP compared with Porsche,BMW,etc
      Somehow Germans make a car grip road better British arent quiet good at it,Americans are the worst
      The advanatge of traction is more confidence to push even in wet and it can make good lap times,Fords always makes poor lap times compared to simarly powered VW models

    It's 0-100 kph is pretty quick, But in a straight drag I think it's a little slower than the outgoing 2.5t mk2 I had one wish I never sold it, but before I chipped it I'm quite certain 0-120mph was about 26-27 secs depend on how I got the gears and launch was ok. The only up side I can see here is better fuel economy and I do love the exhaust poking out the middle., really to me all the ecoboost engines prove one thing they just haven't got it like the old models.
    Impressive 0-100 on all of the ecoboost cars but somewhere between 100-200 the power gets lost.

    • @SirtubalotTX
      @SirtubalotTX 8 років тому +1

      +Mark C Just mod your car,.. the stock K03 is capable of producing quarter mile times of 105+. Swap the turbo for a bigger one if you want more. If you want to keep it stock and that's not quick enough, why did you buy it to begin with? My 15 ST is stock and is not quite as strong as my 13 5.0 Mustang was but I knew this. Does that fact diminish my enjoyment of my ST? NO, because I knew all of that before I bought it and it is in many ways much more fun that my Mustang. I also plan on modding my ST later on so the point I made about it being slower than my 5.0 is rather mute.

    • @mark-1rc502
      @mark-1rc502 8 років тому

      +SirtubalotTX
      Just an opinion or my observation that these ecoboost engines don't seem as strong At higher speeds Not that there any need to go 0-200kph in such a hurry but I'm sure Stock my 2007, 2.5t ST, did about 26 secs on a good run., I chipped it and put an exhaust on went quicker still, Those wet the only Mods I made. I wouldn't want to take that route of modding it to that extreme , I'm not saying it isn't nice to drive just my observation not as quick as the larger CC car it replaced . Stock v Stock

    • @SirtubalotTX
      @SirtubalotTX 8 років тому

      +Mark C Fair enough but you don't have to mod an MK3 to the 'extreme' to outperform a stock MK2. MK3 with stock turbo can easily surpass a stock MK2 without much difficulty and have more torque at the end of the day. Would I have liked to see more 'tune only' gains from a MK3? sure but that was not a deal breaker for me.
      My opinion stands as well, you shouldn't buy a vehicle if you know it won't meet your performance expectation out of the box but I won't beat that dead horse. I've done that before too but no big deal.
      Perhaps the RS will sate your appetite? That is definitely on my buy list for later on.

    • @mark-1rc502
      @mark-1rc502 8 років тому

      +SirtubalotTX
      May be I loved my old car , I make you 100% right don't buy a car if it not want you want from the off, I always had that mentality, but I got nagged into buying a larger family car, and cheaper to run I made a horrible mistake of a Mondeo 1.6 ecoboost Titan X, I chipped it 190 bhp and 220+ lbs ain't bad but the car can't hold the power it terrible , so anyway I will off load it fuck her! But anyway that's was my Observation from this video but it won't guzzle fuel by the bucket load, in fairness of I'm buying another ST it will be the Mk3 ST hence my interest in this video n car.

    • @SirtubalotTX
      @SirtubalotTX 8 років тому

      +Mark C Lol. Why do you say the Mondeo can't hold the power? 190 at the wheel is not bad. What tune did you put on it? I don't know much about those but isn't the 2.0 turbo available for that car as well?
      Although more stock power would be nice, we are definitely not suffering with the MK3. It puts down some decent number and the power curve is very desirable: Full boost at 2k can sure make up for some horsepower shortcomings and this car is a blast coming out of corners because of it. My only sniggle with the MK3 is the stock motor mounts but those are an easy swap and once you take care of those, the rest is just greedy performance upgrades. ;)

  • @KhanyisoMapuma
    @KhanyisoMapuma 9 років тому +4

    First of all, your shifting is too slow
    Secondly: too much wheel spin at launch. You were too aggressive with the throttle
    Thirdly: Never try to set a 0-100km time with a full tank! That slows you down. Have, at most, a quarter.
    Just give these a shot if you still have the ST

    • @stam1ska
      @stam1ska 7 років тому

      First of all, this is a synchronized gearbox - it's totally ignorant to kick the shifter because this isn't the last time driver uses this car.
      Secondly: wheel spin doesn't affect the acceleration if the car is FWD.
      Thirdly: he doesn't only have the full fuel tank, but the wheel in the back, rear seats, interior panels etc. You can take everything out, but will the video be useless as the car is not for racing but for sporty everyday drive?

    • @KhanyisoMapuma
      @KhanyisoMapuma 7 років тому +1

      First of all, my brother owns an ST and I've driven it on multiple occasions and yes, you can shift faster.
      Secondly, wheel spin = no traction which means you can't get the power down. Front wheel drive or not, the physics is still the same.
      Thirdly, 0-60 times are done when the car is at it's lightest to give the fastest acceleration. More weight = slower car.
