The same thing happened in 1996 when the first movie came out. Everyone wanted to be a tornado hunter, and tv shows were all about the real tornado hunters 😁.
Storm chasing also involves a lot of duds and misses, having to track storms that ultimately don't produce anything. People need to educate themselves that storm chasing can also result in losing your life.
This is true. After I saw the Original Twister movie I wanted to be a storm chaser! .I was in the military at the time and was stationed in a part of Texas called Tornado Alley. I did research and it is nothing like the movies. Its just movies make things so fascinating. But its not completely real life.
I imagine even with misses, having so many chasers gives them better chances of getting the data, whoever it is. Otherwise it's not like they go in not thinking it's dangerous, and I imagine those that do go through some education to even know what they're looking at.
Not eating healthy, living in a pollution, smoking, drug&alcohol, Sky diving, fair rides, driving, and many other things can result in losing your life.. Be safe but live your life. I think more people should be more worried and interested on stopping Satan from infiltrating their mind and soul and how to avoid the evil that is everywhere. Praise Jesus!
I remember when i was younger, i watched Twister on vhs with my father, and it inspired me to get into storm reaching. Now, in 2024, I watched Twisters with my father and mother in theaters. These memories will always hold a deep meaning to me, bonding with my parents, but also inspiring me to research storms, and myabe later, I'll chase a tornado or two.
Inspired since the twister 1996 and saw the second one I definitely want to go storm chasing Something about “IF YOU FEEL IT! CHASE IT!!!!!” Gets me going every time
It’ll inspire another generation of storm chasers and meteorologists which I say respect to the ones who will educate themselves and do all the work for it to get it
I’ve been into storm chasing and meteorology since when I was just 6 years old watching The Weather Channel. Oh and don’t forget, one storm chasing team called team Twistex such as Tim Samaras, Paul Samaras, and Carl Young. They were killed while chasing the second largest tornado on Earth in El Reno Oklahoma in 2013. That tornado was 2.6 miles wide and wind speed was over 300mph.
I will answer this for you: YES. Original did it to me. I became a trained spotter partially because of this film inspiring me to do so over 20 years ago.
When I was driving across the country, there were times when I saw microbursts of torrential rain move across the land. Their movements seemed deceptively slow, but when looking at the cars moving on the highway near them likely driving at least 90mph, the cars looked like they were crawling by comparison to the movement of the clouds. People would only be likely be removing themselves from the gene pool if they played games with tornadoes.
I feel like all movies of our times will be inspired to do ANY crazy stunts. Like how people back in the days people copied the movie "jackazz" and got badly hurt
I can't believe Inside Edition just talked about storm chasing without mentioning Reed Timmer or Pecos Hank. Reed especially with his tricked out vehicle.
Yes yes it will. I got home after watching the movie and immediately enrolled in a meteorology course (not just bc of this movie but it was the nail in the coffin fs)
It took 28 years for a sequel. It could inspired others but as long as they take the time to study the career first like others have then go chasing storms within reason.
GEE!! Can't be that hard chasing storms/tornados!! 😳😂 (I say as my butt is parked on my sofa drinking a cup o Joe.) Looks EASY!!😬Saw Twisters, loved it. I thought I can do that, sure I can. 🙄😵. Going out west next weekend to Okie try and wrangle me some nados on my cell. 😱💀😂 Wish me luck 👍

Uh, chasing a storm that has semi-trucks flying in the air, is all the education needed to know that you could possibly lose your life in the action.

There is no movie called Twister 2. Only two Twister movies made. Twister 1996 and Twisters 2024
@toyotamarshall there is a tv movie called Tornado staring Bruce Campbell from 1996.
This movie was so worth watching. Better tell my friends about it.

No because we’re not handsome like Glen Powell
i.e we don't have any plot armor if things start to go wrong.

Is being storm chaser paid a lot?

What information do storm chasers get that is so important? What is the point of it at all? I don't get it; it just seems dangerous.
