The biggest tip i can give to players struggling to deal with chargers is USE THE EXPENDABLE ANTI TANK MISSLE. not for the rockets, but for the drop pod. punch in the code and stick the charger in the face or middle of the back with the beacon marker. if you do it right, it should 1 shot a charger. you can also use the drop pod to plug a bug hole.
Imho best starter items for the early game (vs Bugs) = guard dog with laser rifle, Orbital strike, grenade launcher (helps you close the bug holes REALLY FAST and effective vs the Bile titan), and a stratagem of your choosing. When you're 15+ lvl you can take 500kg bomb airstike. My preffered armor is the one that lets you use 6 stimpacks instead of 4 and prolongs their effect duration (p.s. stimpacks negate the fall damage). I'm currently lvl 17, soloing 8 lvl difficulty (9th is not open for me yet). Oh! Breaker works really well as your main weapon when you're soloing ;) UPDATE: When you solo bugs on the 9th diff, you should take the energy shield instead of the drone. 500 kg bomb, any quick airstrike (prefferably the one that can hit through armor), grenade launcher / railgun depending on the mission. I also recommend scout armor + stamina enhansion.
another tip! Only play blitz or swarm missions. They are realistically the only way to complete higher missions(this comes from a guy who runs suicide solo) Bring a grenade launcher or autocanon to break the nests really easily, or eagle strikes and barrages for swarm. Auto shotgun and napalm grenades are your best friends if you have them. EMS strike is a must for giving yourself distance.
Stalker lais aren't marked anymore. You can still spot them on the map and mark them if you know what to look for, but they don't have the the red spot anymore.
I saw a video that said, the timer is kind of a suggestion, and when it runs out, it just means that your reinforcements are slower but you don’t lose the mission at all. Maybe it was not talking about the higher difficulties, but they were pretty adamant that if that timer goes to zero, you’re still going to be able to complete the mission
Prioritize the comms relay side mission, it reveals the location of all key locations on your map so you can plan your route. Often, the comms relay is on the other end of all the objectives, so it's usually better to land there first if it's visible and then do main missions.
Here's a tip, right off the bat. Don't waste 10 minutes weaving/attacking 1 heavy like the intro. You can heard them together, since they are slow and easy to dodge, then 1 precision strike kill 3 or 4 of them
Tossup on backpacks between the shield generator and the supply pack (the most expensive and least expensive, funnily). Shield is more cozy but ultimately its better to avoid those situations. Whereas supply (especially solo) just lets you never waste your resupplies and stay topped up at all times (particularly for clearing out big nests and factories with grenades) The big thing with objectives is to get the main ones done, then do your running about with side stuff. Main objectives = you succeed at the mission. Side objectives is bonus XP. Extraction is ironically optioal, and the least overall rewarding for Xp/Slips, though is required to bring home smaples.
Hi I have solo'd Helldiver numerous times now (lvl 40) and for bugs its mandatory to run railgun and scout armor! Pick your fights, and RUUUUNNN!!! Lots of running! Orbital rail cannon (for bile titans) and corrosive gas is really nice! We play the long run so run and gas them. Good luck!
I would absolutely argue against bum-rushing the main objective. Instead pick a drop spot and rotate counter/ clockwise. You'll hit everything on the map in a much more efficient time. On higher difficulties, definitely pick your battles more, but anything on low to mid difficulties you have more than enough time
On lvl 9, so this video really chimes we me. A great video, loads of usable suggested tactics. Thank you very much! Soooo looking farward to lvl 10, and the little drone guy! (esp for solos)
I’m finding that the railgun is extremely versatile and strong. I use it to fight EVERYTHING because it penetrates everything, besides the tanks and towers for automatons.
@@jamesmartin8005 Not terribly long. Just need to play accordingly. You can just solo rush objectives on 1-2 difficulty and earn the same xp as harder difficulties in less time. Takes about 30 hours if your focused. In the meantime you can easily just use the GL solo or Recoil-less with a teammate and deal crazy dps
Ive been scared to play this solo because it seems so overwhelming but you convinced me to try the single player since coop is too much rushing to learn the game
I am Level 8 and confidently doing medium difficulty on my own. I find myself running low on ammo so I take the supply backpack. I run bot machine and gatling turret as well as eagle strike. I think once I get more confident in my skill I'll be able to try challenging. I'll definitely take note of these tips for sure though.good to know solo won't be impossible to do higher difficulties, eventually.
Honestly before even watching this video I'd like to say that this: Run a railgun as your heavy weapon, that will deal with all tank units, a resupply backpack so you never run out of ammo/ shield backpack for extra safety. As primary you'll want the breaker auto shotgun because it's simply the best, and for the rest of your strategems: take airstrikes with good clearing capabilities for lower to midtier enemies.
I'm currently running a GL/supply backpack/loght armour combo and its extremely versitile. You can run in and destroy nests by yourself on extreme difficulty. Another tip would be don't be afraid to branch off in teams of two, might take some practice and coordination but its speeds things up... A lot.
Thanks got great video, you’ve got a new subscriber. New to helldivers so found this useful. A breakdown of killing the different enemies and also weapon’s would be awesome, thanks. Anyone that’s doing this solo on suicide level has to be the nutts 👌
A hot tip for anyone with or without a team on Higher Difficulties. Play for Just Enough Time, A lot of people glaze over this and then they find themselves stuck wondering why they can never finish objectives without suffering a cataclysmic amount of causalities and this is mostly because they're to focused on killing things rather than getting the Objectives done. On Higher Difficulties you almost always make over 1k regardless on if you do side objectives. As a teammate you should be trying to draw the attention away from the guy whos getting the Objectives done or at least buying him enough time to get the objective done. Main Objectives take priority over literally everything else in the game. You aren't winning wars by doing side Ops. So fight as long as you can to fend off the bugs or automatrons from killing your teammate doin the objectives..
It seems that getting good at being solo makes you better overall even in groups. You can handle certain objectives by yourself when with others. I can't help but love having all support to switch my load out on the fly, but I do need to consider having a better balance. I'd love to see a group of solos doing each objective. Also I now get annoyed with higher level players not taking any type of pack. Just take any. There's no reason not to have one.
When it comes to bugs, the regular guard dog is the best. The rover is nice, since it can't run out of ammo, but you'll be able to use supply drops often enough to keep the regular/gun guard dog loaded... which not only packs more of a punch but also has knockback, which helps manage the larger swarms of smaller enemies.
Definitely would like a guide on the best way to deal with each enemy. I’ve been sitting at difficulty 3 because that damn bug on 4 that snatches you just made my life a nightmare. Now that I have the Guard Dog Rover I’m ready to try again, but knowing their moves and best strategies would be hugely helpful.
IMO, for the backpack strategems, I love the ballistic shield pack but it's VERY team-oriented. You're limited to one-handed weapons if you want to take advantage of it, and you're probably better off using jump pack for solo play.
See ... I see Woolie complaining like a spoiled kid that the game needs a balance patch ... and here YOU are ... showing us in a calm voice, and with GOLD Tips and Advice to play the game.... I salute you o/
Solo difficulty 6 damn. I wasn't that brave yesterday. Did a two man egg kill mission because the host quit after dropping us in danger. Barely made it out of extraction but received less rewards because one objective registered as failed bugged. Fair amount of hell because we couldn't catch the bug calling the alarm. Many Bile titans.
I usually run with an eaglr napalm, stalwart machine gun, orbital precision strike and an orbital barrage. Sometimes i swap out the orbital barage for a jump pack.
Yeah this is rough as heck! Even when I'm trying to sneak around to do just the sub objectives and the main and collect any rares and super rares. Railgun, breaker, mortar sentry and the orbital railgun with the ammo booster. Sometimes I get lucky and the game doesn't send half the map at me at once sometimes I can sneak around and leave with a few rares and some super rares of I find the old tree stumps that are gold or silver veined.
Surprised for backpack that the shield generator pack wasn't mentioned. That thing so useful for bugs. Stalkers dont get to knock you down and decreases damage significantly. Even from a charger if they manage to hit you. I don't leave home without it most of the time. But the guard dog rover is veey good as well though. Lil guy serves me well😢
Railgun + Supply Backpack. It's far too valuable not to. Kills chargers, biles and any armoured unit. Bring 500kg bomb with the +1 and airstrike. The negative effects on strategems (such as cooldown and increased deployment time) make orbital strikes worse than eagle currently.
about the tip for light armor - as of yet the armor rating is bugged and not working as intended.. all armors take the same amount of hits to die - 6 light hits from normal small mobs - so taking the light armor or medium armor gives you better passive choices. (personally i go with the one withj extra stims and stims healling time +2seconds ) ;)
That last advice I STRONGLY suggest you do NOT do. The first and MAIN thing you should do for a SMOOTHER mission is to take out every nest first before you FULLY finish the main objective. Reason being; after you complete the main objective, bugs or bots will be more alert of your presence on the map. Meaning more patrols and more enemies. Where do they come from? From the bug holes or bot factories you didn't destroy first. If you want the game harder, then by all means. Go ahead and start the main objective first but if you want it easy and smoother, take out every nest first.
I just started so when you just stated what the loadout should be, I'm lvl 8 but Im still not entirely sure about everything you mentioned. A visual would have been helpful so I could pause and try to see what I have unlocked so far
So, every time people join my game, its a flippin free for all. We end up using all our reinforcements quickly because nobody wants to move as a team. Even people fighting over using the terminals is something i see often. I can't get past extreme because of it.
armor is broken right now anyway, heavy armor doesn't reduce damage like it should so until they fix it light or medium is best depending on the secondary abilities.
i heard the amour scaling is bugged right now, so medium for perks or light overall is the way to go right now Edit: it was a post from a day ago, but its spacific heavy armor, including the one in the shop a day ago
that is because thos ones live about 2-3 seconds after you remove their head, they still attack you lol, you can just put a few more rounds extra to put them down outright but saving bullets is important too.
At the moment, the lightest armour and heaviest armour both take the same amount of hits to kill you. So there is 0 point to use heavy armour right now
I don’t trust those Guard dogs when I’m with homies it hits them to often to trust and if there’s a hellbomb near by the laser dog will tag it by accident when sweeping its laser around and make it explode but solo they are alright but can also be a hazard to the Solo ops health as well
how on gods green earth are you surviving more than two hits? hunters consistently 2-3 shot me in medium armour. what booster are you using? do you use the damage reduction or the full ammo booster? my only personal issue with solo play are the goddamn hunters (and the stalkers which are basically just upgraded hunters) those bastards alone have killed me more than anything else in the entire game (except for maybe the big bile spitters, but im getting more used to them) if i didnt have to deal with them then my games would be 200% easier. PSA: fuck hunters.
Fully disagree that in higher difficulty you should focus the main objective. Taking utility obj like mortar towers ore the spores, jammers or nests close to the main objective can be paramount to a smooth mission completion. Collecting samples or auxilary missions like illegal broadcasts or data extraction can be saved until most main mission for sure though. Not saying you shouldnt oick up samples that are right in front of you, but dont attract patrols or contest the area for them before finishing the main obj, in that case your point is sound
The current armor system is kinda wonky. You seem to take the same number of hits to die in light armor than you do in heavy, so might as well take the light armor to maximize your mobility. And yeah even in the first game that was the key to soloing missions. That and melee spamming.
Seeing how you deal with the higher mobs is pure eyecandy. I personally don't feel comfortable with it just yet... Btw, are you using the Breaker? Is it better than the penetrator guns (Liberty AP and the premium JAR)?
Load out: medium scout armor, eagle airstrike, orbital laser, auto cannon, rocket sentry, plasma shotgun, grenade pistol, stun grenade. Jack of all trades, I run this on bots level 9
Recoiless and EATs are now my best friends. Biles and Chargers were crushing my balls early. Now that coked up stalker bugs run my fade. Bots are doable, unless they just spam missile smashers and dreds. We need vehicle patch rolled out soon. I miss my mechs and tanks.
been having a huge problem with bug breaches, no matter what i do run fight completely wipe out everything with 1 strike literally no matter what they just keep spawning and it's really ruined the game for me on the solo aspect. the only time i can actually enjoy the game is when i'm not running and dodging the entire time which only happens in multiplayer. idk what the problem is it just might be me but i literally want to uninstall because of this 1 thing.
I'm trying to push difficulty in a similar way, but I've hit a brick wall with difficulty 5. I can deal with one charger easily, two is...ok, but at difficulty 5, especially at extract, there's often three on the field, and I just have a hard time dealing with that. Did you experience this? If so, how did you counter it? I feel as though I'm missing something, but I can't for the life of me figure out what.
i would only suggest doing artillery objective as priority over main objective. Because its just too strong of a tool. calling different arty shots 5 times

Oh! Breaker works really well as your main weapon when you're soloing ;)
UPDATE: When you solo bugs on the 9th diff, you should take the energy shield instead of the drone. 500 kg bomb, any quick airstrike (prefferably the one that can hit through armor), grenade launcher / railgun depending on the mission. I also recommend scout armor + stamina enhansion.
another tip! Only play blitz or swarm missions. They are realistically the only way to complete higher missions(this comes from a guy who runs suicide solo)
Bring a grenade launcher or autocanon to break the nests really easily, or eagle strikes and barrages for swarm.
Auto shotgun and napalm grenades are your best friends if you have them. EMS strike is a must for giving yourself distance.
How do you break the nest with auto cannon or do you just shoot more than once?
@@t.e.a4357shoot inside the nest
Autocannon can break nests? I was using nades with resupply drops :D
Also grinding for samples before main target will make it so you have to go around looking for your samples when you die at the main objective
No man, this shit become Dark souls when I'm alone.😂😂
Prioritize the comms relay side mission, it reveals the location of all key locations on your map so you can plan your route. Often, the comms relay is on the other end of all the objectives, so it's usually better to land there first if it's visible and then do main missions.
Certian guns should never be reloaded from empty namely the auto cannon the reload time is a fraction if you do it early
Here's a tip, right off the bat. Don't waste 10 minutes weaving/attacking 1 heavy like the intro. You can heard them together, since they are slow and easy to dodge, then 1 precision strike kill 3 or 4 of them
Those stalkers did steroids they used to be a pest at worst in helldivers 1
Tossup on backpacks between the shield generator and the supply pack (the most expensive and least expensive, funnily). Shield is more cozy but ultimately its better to avoid those situations. Whereas supply (especially solo) just lets you never waste your resupplies and stay topped up at all times (particularly for clearing out big nests and factories with grenades)
The big thing with objectives is to get the main ones done, then do your running about with side stuff. Main objectives = you succeed at the mission. Side objectives is bonus XP. Extraction is ironically optioal, and the least overall rewarding for Xp/Slips, though is required to bring home smaples.
This was great. Thank you for the tips.
Good luck!
How do you deal with the machines? The chainsaw enemies keep ending me
I would absolutely argue against bum-rushing the main objective. Instead pick a drop spot and rotate counter/ clockwise. You'll hit everything on the map in a much more efficient time.
On higher difficulties, definitely pick your battles more, but anything on low to mid difficulties you have more than enough time
outstanding vid, feel shamed now at not taking on the higher difficulty missions, bring em on 07
Clearing main objective increases spawns so do it last then extract.
On lvl 9, so this video really chimes we me. A great video, loads of usable suggested tactics. Thank you very much! Soooo looking farward to lvl 10, and the little drone guy! (esp for solos)
More guides and how to deal with all enemies would be awesome! Great videos so far!
I’m finding that the railgun is extremely versatile and strong. I use it to fight EVERYTHING because it penetrates everything, besides the tanks and towers for automatons.
Yeah, pity you have to be level 20 to unlock it. So it takes a while to get proper access to it.
With so many grains of salt im taking ill be able to flavor my food now, thank you !!
New subscriber here, love this game can't stop playing.great tips, thanks 👍
Honestly before even watching this video I'd like to say that this:
Run a railgun as your heavy weapon, that will deal with all tank units, a resupply backpack so you never run out of ammo/ shield backpack for extra safety.
As primary you'll want the breaker auto shotgun because it's simply the best, and for the rest of your strategems: take airstrikes with good clearing capabilities for lower to midtier enemies.
I noticed in my 4 games last night that if you get swarmed your character struggles to get away even if you try to run which is fsr more realistic
Thank you for posting. Very new player here.
Please make more of these. Playing and commentating your way through would be a great aid to democracy!
I'm currently running a GL/supply backpack/loght armour combo and its extremely versitile. You can run in and destroy nests by yourself on extreme difficulty. Another tip would be don't be afraid to branch off in teams of two, might take some practice and coordination but its speeds things up... A lot.
What about the medkit armor that makes stims last 2 seconds longer basically giving you a short period of invincibility and you get 2 extra stims
Thanks got great video, you’ve got a new subscriber. New to helldivers so found this useful. A breakdown of killing the different enemies and also weapon’s would be awesome, thanks. Anyone that’s doing this solo on suicide level has to be the nutts 👌
Shield backpack, rail gun, eagle cluster bomb, rail cannon strike, stamina booster. Easy.
So fight as long as you can to fend off the bugs or automatrons from killing your teammate doin the objectives..
this game needs a report support for the teamkillers who kill on purpose to loot items they dont have
It's called the kick button
Kick and Block. Easy peasy.
Love how people don't realize that everyone gets it when you loot it
@@masterdynamo6457 i think they mean getting team killed for a rail gun you have cuz they low level and don't got it yet or think you took theirs.
This sounds pretty exploitable.
Breaker shotgun primary, railgun support weapon, personal shield backpack, light armor. That is the meta.
Laser guard dog against bugs or bring an ammo bag. For bots, bring the shield back pack, bullet guard dog, or jet pack
See ... I see Woolie complaining like a spoiled kid that the game needs a balance patch ... and here YOU are ... showing us in a calm voice, and with GOLD Tips and Advice to play the game....
I salute you o/
For the guard dogs it’s best to use the river guard dog because of how much more it shoots and kills. The normal one isn’t as accurate as well
Solo difficulty 6 damn.
What a nice Video, charger was Most difficult enemy for me. But that helps alot, ty.
I usually run with an eaglr napalm, stalwart machine gun, orbital precision strike and an orbital barrage. Sometimes i swap out the orbital barage for a jump pack.
Great video. Thanks you friend
Yes a video on how to deal with al types of bugs would b great
Surprised for backpack that the shield generator pack wasn't mentioned.
A guide on how to deal with each enemy would be great!
Thanks I’m trying to lvl up with to some friends who started before I was able.
This game is sold out at all GameStops in my region had to order from eBay can’t wait to join in on the war 🔥🔥🔥💯
I'd love a detailed enemy guide
i heard the amour scaling is bugged right now, so medium for perks or light overall is the way to go right now
Edit: it was a post from a day ago, but its spacific heavy armor, including the one in the shop a day ago
Why does it look like at 1:56 the bug died from embarrassment and broken ankles in a basketball game 😂😂
that is because thos ones live about 2-3 seconds after you remove their head, they still attack you lol, you can just put a few more rounds extra to put them down outright but saving bullets is important too.
At the moment, the lightest armour and heaviest armour both take the same amount of hits to kill you. So there is 0 point to use heavy armour right now
Shield backpack is my go to whether it's bugs or automatons.
the shield gen paks my fave & it woks on everything even melee & saved my ars from stelthers so many time :) last miska thay ever made
I don’t trust those Guard dogs when I’m with homies it hits them to often to trust and if there’s a hellbomb near by the laser dog will tag it by accident when sweeping its laser around and make it explode but solo they are alright but can also be a hazard to the Solo ops health as well
how on gods green earth are you surviving more than two hits? hunters consistently 2-3 shot me in medium armour. what booster are you using? do you use the damage reduction or the full ammo booster? my only personal issue with solo play are the goddamn hunters (and the stalkers which are basically just upgraded hunters) those bastards alone have killed me more than anything else in the entire game (except for maybe the big bile spitters, but im getting more used to them) if i didnt have to deal with them then my games would be 200% easier. PSA: fuck hunters.
Light armor protects ypu enough cause the protection is bugged still and all offer the same dmg reduction while the light also makes you faster
Great video bro 👍
could you make a video on all your settings. I like the way your game looks/runs
what is your loadout? I wish you went over this in your video
Breaker has penetration
Load out: medium scout armor, eagle airstrike, orbital laser, auto cannon, rocket sentry, plasma shotgun, grenade pistol, stun grenade. Jack of all trades, I run this on bots level 9
What armor are you wearing in this video?
Would also like to know.
Soo, another tip is no bots missions i suppose? They do seem to be a bot more annoying to handle alone.
Come back when you have to tackle for bile titans but orbital laser for the win.
You can one shot them with railgun in the right place lol
been having a huge problem with bug breaches, no matter what i do run fight completely wipe out everything with 1 strike literally no matter what they just keep spawning and it's really ruined the game for me on the solo aspect. the only time i can actually enjoy the game is when i'm not running and dodging the entire time which only happens in multiplayer. idk what the problem is it just might be me but i literally want to uninstall because of this 1 thing.
Autocannon Turret maybe. Or Railgun.
i would only suggest doing artillery objective as priority over main objective. Because its just too strong of a tool. calling different arty shots 5 times
Guard dog laser is a must against bugs and shield backpack for the bots.
How about your loadout? Weapons, armor, stratagems, boosters? Maybe your top 3 in each of those categories? Thanks for this vid & keep them coming! Subbed!
Thanks for the video. Just a question, which macro are you using for stratagems? Any mouse in specific or keyboard config?
For me best loadout is ammo pack grenade launcher mortar turret and orbital Gatling gun with the war pond orange armor
