holding reload for 12 minutes with the revolve in hand does a cool trick, and smoke stratagem can kill bile titans. there are quite a few rocket style projectiles that deliver the smoke payloads. disabling crossplay will significantly increase your chances of success in higher difficulty if you play on pc because you don't get children at mcdonnalds on their nintendo switch as teammates. yo swany ask "based ceo" if the recruit major order is for the x box kids, i'd ask myself but i got banned from the discord for not having a trans rights flag in my discord bio.
If you accidentally kill a player, take responsibility and reinforce him. Help him get his stuff back and cover him if you can. Don't reinforce someone and throw him right back into a gaggle of enemies.
Unless that enemy is a bile titan.
or a really pesky tank or strider...it's a follow your gut kinda thing

You're being team killed because you're insufferable.
Simple as.
People should also know that the extraction pelican only waits as long as there is time remaining in the mission clock, once that timer hits 0 and the emergency extraction pelican is called in or the timer becomes 0 after you called in the pelican, it will only wait 20 seconds and if you fail to get in then you are done for.
Many high level players still don't understand this and ask me to wait and not get inside the pelican but they don't realise that timer is 0 and regardless of wether I get in or not it's going to leave. Got kicked so many times for their lack of knowledge.
You can extend that timer EVER so slightly by standing on the DOOR. Its only a couple seconds but it does work.
sometimes if only one goes in the pelican takes off no timer showing up. Bug?

@@whatsuphelp That only happens if the Pelican gets Damaged, but it Might be a bug. We don't really know.
If you're short on time, dont call Pelican1 at all. If you already called it, then when mission time hit 00:00 you have 20s to jump in and leave like you said. But if you don't call It at all, the call start automatically at 00:00 giving 2:00 extra time for everyone to reach extraction point with all the samples.
-If you reinforce someone, try to throw them in the direction of their death, so it’s easier to get their stuff back. Also, if you’re far from your team, don’t reinforce them. Have the teammates closest to their death location do the reinforcement. 90% of the time, the players go back to pick up their items
-If you have a Rover already, and have an extra one, drop it for a player who doesn’t have one.
-Always mention, samples are SHARED
-Impact grenades kill those Bile Spewers in one hit. Other grenades (including the incendiary impact) won’t kill them in one hit.
-If there’s a diamond on the map and you’re at the location, there’s still some type of item or sample there. Sometimes if it’s a Support Weapon, you have to pick it up and drop it for it to clear. Keep collecting until you see it turn from a diamond to a little checkbox on the map. That tells you that you’ve collected everything
-If you accidentally kill someone, I always use the “I’m sorry” voiceover to let them know it was an accident.
-HellDivers classic in the setting is MUCH easier to use on console. It switches between Primary and Support weapons, and you have to hold for secondary. Not the other way around
How do you use the voice over
For switching your weapons on PC, I saw that you can change the binding to mouse wheel up for primary and mouse wheel down for support (hit 2 for secondary weapon). Haven't tried it yet, but I will once I get fed up with not changing my weapons fast enough on keyboard. :)

There is just one think I would add that I learned only recently.
There are two kinds of Signal Jammer locations that can spawn with the bots.
One with bot factories and one without.
If your Signal Jammer has a bot factory with it YOU ONLY HAVE TO DESTROY THE BOT FACTORY this will also destroy the Signal Jammer!
This is amazing. You can destroy the bot factory from a large distance away and the exploding bot factory will then also destroy the Signal Jammer, so you never even have to enter that enemy base. This makes one of the most difficult secondary objectives one of the easiest!
Sometimes the bot fab isnt directly next to the tower in the destroy area.
This is not always the case.
Perfectly good samples left behind from not raiding the remains... 🤔
@@n1njademon bro I almost never loot bases, just got for POIs, im in it for the XP and frankly there aint much point in gathering samples when I dont use half the upgrades
Get a microphone and then you can explain it to them
Something else to add: make sure you reload a fresh clip BEFORE you pick up an ammo box and heal up before you pick up a stim box. You can't overcarry ammo or stims, and if you aren't quite empty, whatever isn't used is wasted.
I just started playing helldivers and i love it. Normaly i only play solo but this game realy got me to talk to randoms, the community is rly nice and the game gets so much easier with mates
To get pelican 1 to hover you need to be more than 50m away. If you wait for it around 35-40 meters you can run away once the timer hits 0 and it’ll hover and give you cover fire with its auto cannon. But as soon as you or a teammate comes within the 50m it’ll land so stay away until you’re ready to board. It has a 300m range for its cover fire. If the game timer hits 0 it’ll land and you have 20 seconds to board. If you stand on the door it’ll give you a few extra seconds after the 20 seconds is up. And if you want to know how far you are from the landing beacon just ping it and it’ll give you the distance.
@2:20 Changing the bindings was a major game changer for me. I put strategim menu on R1, quick stim to double-tap L1, and quick grenade to hold L1. Made a huge difference.
Definitely learned more than I thought I would going in. I knew taking out titan bile sacs stopped them from spewing, for example, but I didn't realize just how much damage it did to them overall. It'll be nice not having them tank 2 rail cannon strikes and a 500kg and keep coming lol. Also never thought of being able to move while entering stratagem codes by changing the bindings before. I think I just assumed you were locked in place regardless lol. And finally I had already used smoke a bit, but having a better idea of how it works will help a lot. And learning that fabricators can be taken out by throwing grenades through their doors and by gas and smoke strikes is a big revelation for me that will help me a ton. I'm definitely going to be taking the smoke and gas strikes a lot more often now, they seem like they'll compliment my playstyle a lot, especially against bots.
Since you made mention of the shield generator, I wanted to additionally point out that Terminids will try to rush through the shield to destroy the generator. You can use this to distract a large number of bugs temporarily as the generator itself is pretty tanky. With a little practice, you can even use the shield to cause Bile Titans to kill themselves. With good placement, the bile titan will try to shoot the generator with acid but will be just outside the shield. The acid will splash on the outside of the shield and the aoe damage will directly hit the lowest hp body part: it's head.

That quick grenade button switch is a MUST! Like he said it will save you ass!
On the resupply we always take the hellpod booster to have full ammo n stuff dropping in, and go to the extraction to drop a supply drop so we have it when we get there after the mission.
Also, If you use the Mech or HMG emplacement you can call them in at extraction zone as soon as you drop in and then when you get there after the mission your timer should be up so you can have 2 of whatever you use for extraction. works GREAT!
Took me 200 hours before I changed the quick grenade bind for controller. 🤦♂️
I didn't know about the quick grenade button for controller. Amazing. I thought I thoroughly went through all of the settings. Guess not!
I legit have PTSD after so many crashes from trying to throw back grenades, it's the most scary thing in the game even after the fix. Nice tips Swany!
A quick note regarding your second tip on chargers: I find myself carrying impact incendiary grenades now that I have unlocked them. They're sooooo beautiful for bug breaches, they just coat that hole with a nice warm blanket of burning napalm, and... I'm sorry, was that out loud?
Stun grenade still goated for bots, tho, and if you don't have the boomy-burny nades for bugs yet, you have something to save your medals for!

Here's a tip if you're running a loadout without a Railgun/rocket launcher/Quasar and your offensive strategems are on cooldown. Like when you're running a grenade launcher loadout.
Just throw a support/resuppply strategem on the back of the charger, it reliably tracks and oneshots them.
Haven't managed to reliably do it with Bile titans/Hulks/Factory Striders, but for chargers it works great.
Doesn't do enough damage to one-shot the bigger guys

Totally agree on the quick grenade button. Since I changed that it has been a game changer, I hardly ever used them before I changed it to quick throw.
Its actually pretty funny he mentions the reticle setting cuz i found it my first couple hours in and tried it for a bit but that shit was driving me crazy i couldnt focus on anything but the circle bouncing up and down, so now i just use my judgement and my player position to hip fire accurately

i know having a visible reticle would be better for combat, but i just love having the middle of the screen be clean while moving around the map and taking in the sights. so much more immersive! also feels way cooler to hit hipfire shots without the extra help. arrow key stratagems are much better though, being able to move around while calling things in is so clutch. great video for new players or for people wanting to break into the higher difficulties!
yeah I'm the same way. I tend to be accurate enough with hip fire anyway that it doesn't matter too much (center of the screen is generally where it's going, and in situations where you need to hip fire enemies are usually close enough to you that sway and the like aren't a significant issue), and with the way I play I don't use it a ton anyway.

I would also recommend changing the binding on the gesture button. I've found that, fairly often, I'll go to heal with "V" and accidentally also brush my finger on the "B" key. Hitting that initiates your gesture and halts your movement, reload, heal, and any other action.
Accidentally tapping that will constantly get you killed if you're in combat or running and being chased by a mob

expanding on keybinds, binding your leftalt and/or V to a side-mouse button. Melee or grenades would be useful as mousebuttons too. experiment with it
My strategem button is capslock. It's suboptimal when you want to write something, but the position is very convenient.
This game makes me think my controller doesn't work a lot, and the inability easily play with my friends is crazy

I call down a resupply at strategic points on the map on solo runs. I also drop either sentries or mines in areas behind me where i know patrols are going to come through. Especially at main objectives.
My favorite thing to do is to throw a gatling sentry outside of a big bot base to creste a distraction. Then stealth run to the other side of the outpost and hammer them with an eagle strike or orbital gas strike the actual factory building. The explosions are glorious. 😊
On the resup one, also call them in at extraction when you pass by it/drop supps at it and when you arrive for actual extraction. That way you have between 4-8 supply boxes available for stims etc

FYI, if one of your team mates dies and you are across the map from each other. Let the teammate closest to them reinforce.
Remember, EAT isn't a support weapon, it's a handheld strategem
Here's the thing about rebinding the stratagem buttons, I have already built muscle memory for the wasd keys so if I were to rebind them I would have to relearn those and that is probably harder then just leaving them.

I tried a few pretend 500s and it's so awkward for my right hand now. And I've gotten so good at reinforcing teammates, I literally roll my fingers and it's done every time without fail, like a twitch. There's no switching this up now. All I changed was instead of holding Ctrl I set it to Tap Once to open/close right when I started
This is how I think of it. I’m going to play the game for at least a few months, and it will take me a week at most to get back to the same time it takes for me to call something in, but after i get over that, I will be better than I was before.
However I play piano, so my right hand is pretty dexterous, and it’s almost second nature to be able to take a combination from my left hand and mirror it to my right.

You're handicapping yourselves because you don't want to spend a little time practicing. Getting to move while calling something down can be the difference between winning or waiting for someone to reinforce you

Great video. Here's an idea. If you could pick everything, what would your "Perfect Squad" loadout be? All four players, armor, all weapons, stratagems, boosters, the works.
something that really helped me was to change the button press for the mini map to the same button press as the stratagem menu. one less button press to see the minimap
Bro that bind literally doesn't work, you can either use the map or stratas, not both at the same time smh
A word of caution about leaning too hard on Pelican 1 for clearing extraction: if the ship takes too much damage, it will immediately leave after picking up a single diver. This will mainly affect sample gathering, but it's something to be aware of.

@@Soleprofit559 My guess is it's intended as a consequence for letting Pelican 1 take too much damage and maybe also as a way so people don't abuse it for cover fire.

I'd say the keybindings were the most helpful. Especially the stratgem as directional arrow keys.
The extract pelican has an invisible health bar. Once it depletes, it will leave as soon as one diver enters, causing the "insta leave" that can occur.
What are the pros to using gas instead of fire? Does the gas do more damage? Or linger longer maybe?
Can't recommend enough the computer stratagem remap. I also went with the arrow keys and i am so efficient with calling in strats or reinforcements.

I once left the samples at the extraction and they rolled behind the mission area while I was gone. Was able to recover them, but this was stressful enough not to leave them again.

I'm not gonna lie. The thing about PC players using the arrow keys... you're telling me other people just don't have the stratagem codes committed to muscle memory? Because with my current rotation even calling in the 380 is just a reflex. My biggest struggle is the hell bomb call in
I recommend changing the stratagem list keybind from holding ctrl to just pressing ctrl.

To go along with the tip of stealth, simply put, stealth works! If youre not makng a lot of noise, and crouching/prone, enemies are very likely to not notice you. This is especially useful for the more difficult Automatons who usually look straight ahead. You can remain prone and the guys can walk directly past you without noticing. This is vital for high difficulty missions where bot drops can spiral out of control and lock you into combat for several minutes.
Its my golden rule of Helldivers: Dont engage every enemy you see! There are no rewards for kills, so it can be best to avoid a patrol if possible, or if you dont think you can efficiently wipe them out at once.
3:25 Its a good tip, however I dont think I could get used to other keybinds now, I usually just dive and activate the stratagem while diving.
Once I got the hang of solo level 5 difficulty I figured I was good enough to not pull down a team. Every rando mumtiplayer round I've had so far has been entertaining, even if we fail. Last night I started a defence mission and we dropped on the 2 generators powering rocket launches. Failure the second we landed. It was hilariously democratic.
as someone who only plays solo - with up to 3 randos - dropping my samples down is not always an option. inevitably someone insists on taking them on a tour of the map. it's great advice if you're 4-manning, but otherwise i trust the position i die in will be safer or further away from the three tanks and two factory striders.
When I play with randos just communicate it in the chat. Just say "Hey I'm dropping off samples at extraction" and most people get the picture.
Anything to help with the evacuation missions with the bots on level 4 difficult I can’t solo them it feels like a helldive level

Good tips. Taking down a fabricator with a gas strike takes skill. I have never taking one down from long range.
-If you're using laser rover, do not stand with your teammate is between you and the enemy.
-If you're using explosive weapon, make sure your teammate is not near your target. Switch to non explosive weapon if you still want to shoot it.
-If your teammate drop sample at evac, do not pick it up.
-Make sure no teammate is in your vision when using arc thrower.
-Make sure no teammate is in your vision when using flamethrower.
-Always ping your deployed mines.
-Take only one resupply if all 4 teammates are nearby.
-Always ping resupply.
-Always ping heavy/elite enemies.
-Always ping objective, if you're able to see it.
-Prioritise heavy unit if you want to neutralise it. Help your teammate to disengage if you want to run away from it.
-You can reload recoiless and airburst rocket while prone. Not for Spear.
-Always reload behind cover against automaton.
-It's advisable to use mortar offensively (to thin out enemy) instead of defensively. Usually on defense there's high chance enemy is near your teammates.
-Highground against bug. Cover against bots.
To be honest, I don't risk dropping my samples anymore, I just take them with me. Too many times they've just gone POOF and vanished into thin air when we've come back for them.
The pelican support one i want an ingame tip who tell that, it start to get annoying that there is always a player who make it land for nothing

Step2: tell your teammates that you dropped them on purpose for safe keeping.
Step3: someone picks them up and runs straight into an enemy base.

Autocannon and HMG also works for hulks
Huge tip no one knows about? The HMG emplacement is SO GOOD on bug missions. It can take down an entire Shreiker hive from afar, kill MANY bugs if placed correctly, quick too. Just bring an expendable anti tank for chargers and since it’s so low cooldown I can just get the enemies attention at a base, plop it down and go ham. Even kills hive guards and the big hunter.
HMG emplacement is my favorite thing to pull out when I'm with randoms, because it's always fun to watch them slowly realize just how good it is. I think a lot of people assume it has damage and piercing similar to the automatic gun turrets, when it's more like having two rapid firing AMRs strapped together lol. Obliterates anything short of chargers and bile titans. Just don't bring it to bots, you're a sitting duck for long range attacks when you're in it.
One important tip to remember for it though is that it has a very slow turning speed, so you need to be thoughtful about where you set it up. It generally works best when enemies are funneling in from one direction, and it helps to put it up against a wall or on a high spot with limited access in order to limit the number of directions bugs can come from. Most of all, make sure you have at least one teammate who can take out any bugs that manage to reach you from the sides or back. Another thing to consider is that it's mostly useless against Chargers and Bile Titans, so leave those to your teammates. If they get close it's time to abandon it until after they're dealt with. It's very much a stratagem designed for team play, and I wouldn't recommend it for solo dives. Keep this in mind and it'll be immensely helpful for objectives that require you to stick around for a bit or for shredding through bug breaches. I find it to be especially useful when Bile Spewers start throwing bile mortars around on 6+ difficulty, since it's one of the easiest and most efficient ways to take out large groups of them. You'd think being immobile would be a death sentence against them, but they are extremely inaccurate and the mortars are very visible and slow, so as long as you set up far enough away and keep an eye out for any coming towards you it's surprisingly safe. They rarely end up hitting my location at all before I wipe them all out, and if they do there's plenty of time to get off and move out of the way.
How about diving to put out fire. Its way faster than a stim.

I throw impact grenades at the charges headplate. Usually 2 trys
Smoke strikes are VERY underrated! They work VERY WELL vs the Automatons since they are so slow you can just pop smoke and peace out. Vs the Bugs.... less so (cus they FAST AS FUCK BOI, less you brake their legs) but it will still work if you can brake line of sight. Personally would recommend the Orbital Smoke vs the Eagle smoke, Orbital smoke drops 4 shells all round you while the eagle smoke drops a line of 5 or 6 smoke bombs.
The Smoke Grenade will work in a pinch but.... result may vary.
i hard disagree on the grenades button for controller unless you bind it to one of the buttons on the top i rather whip it out then aim my throw that also allows me to hold it for what ever reason i may need to

The orbital smoke strike is great in so many situations. It's strange to me it's so underused.
Idk, I only play on Helldive, and when you almost always only get 3 stratagems in your load out, it’s hard to justify bringing one that deals no dmg.

Bonus, it has a low CD and will also pop structures.

My pelican always says you are outside of the drop zone, and then said they are taking off. Does anyone else get this? The pelican ship won't sit there and shoot for me.
If you're spilt from your teamates, dont mindlessly reinforce and spawn them across the map without their support weapons and on cool down.
How do you drop samples?
I'd just like to throw this out there cause I'd like to see it. So all secondary weapons are basically pistols so what about getting us a sword and maybe another type of secondary besides just handguns

Changing stratagem keybind may cause the following bug : everytime you quit the game, the stratagem binding will revert to WASD and NOT ZQSD. This happened to me and some friends. We have to modify keybinds EVERY TIME we boot the game
