Around two days ago we got our first stock of these and so far I’m very impressed and have had a lot of interest from more elderly people and couples due to the size being not too big but not too small and externally easy filter access compared to the smaller Flex’s. I’m really impressed so far.
We need a 125 Gallon Ultimate Flex. I am sure if Fluval built it people would buy it. There Aquariums are well made and worth every penny. And they have good customer service to boot! I have their 57L Flex and just ordered the 123L version. Their FX and 407 canister filters are amazing too!
Would be awesome if was an upgrade kit for the older specs that could upgrade the lid like have there and make it where could add in a light! Other than that can;t wait to get on those on my shelf!
Mark Rogers That’s an excellent idea. I would consider getting a lid upgrade with better lighting options and an auto feeder for my existing Flex. Fluval would probably sell a lot of them.
Guess should add in that I give permission to use this idea and do not expect any compensation for using this intellectual idea. So please hook us up Fluval engineers!
I really hope Fluval does this. I can't wait to get my hands on the Mega Flex and would love to upgrade my flex 15 and 9 gallon with the same lid/lighting.
do your fish jump? if not... then there are many other lighting options that are better... just so you know. also another option is to just buy LED light strips... $30 on amazon and they come in full spectrum RGB for plant growth.

Had Enough ordered from saltwateraquarium.com. I love it. The lights are great. They grow plants well. They need to be turned down to around 50% if you’re not running co2. All pretty easy with the phone app. Many settings. My only gripe would be I would have preferred a more powerful pump, to get better circulation throughout the tank. Not a big deal though. You can find a more powerful pump on eBay for less than 20 dollars that will suit the tank better. Over time these pumps lose some of their power. So while it’s just getting by now, when I start to notice it losing any power, I’m just going to get on eBay and get a better one.
Glad to see the door on the feeding slot on this tank, I’ve had trouble with fish jumping out of the tank, mind you that was in my specs not my flex. Looks awesome, would love to have one of these! 😍
I would like to see a version of this tank without a built in filter system, just a bare tank & it would probably have a little extra capacity without the filter at back. Looks like the same sump style setup on the speck lineup. Not sure why you think that is not customizable, but it is quite the opposite. It's a sump so technically you can run any media that fits. Personally, I run biohome under my sponge in my spec v.
I have changed the filtration by replacing the sponges with InTank media boxes in which I have a coarse& fine sponge, Biohome media & Seachem Purigen. The output of the Flex 32.5 cannot be reduced. We recommend directing the flow at a piece of decor in the aquarium, which will disperse the flow and make it less direct / concentrated.
Hi Fluval, I find the water flow creates a very strong current on my flex 32.5, how can we dampen the current, my flake food and pellets are sinking faster due to the heavy surface current on top. What would you recommend for me to do ?
I wish they elaborate more on the lighting. For instance what is proper lighting for plants and how bright and what colors are okay for morning, daylight and night.
Hi Lewis, the reason we don't provide that sort of information is because it varies drastically - what species of fish and plants are kept, what maintenance schedule do you have, what are the water parameters, what's the ambient light in the room... There are too many variables at play for us to make any sort of recommendations!
@@fluval Okay, I have several Anubias Frazeri, Anubias Barteri, Anubias Nancon,Java fern , Swords and Sword grass, Cryptocorynes, Juncus Repens, Bucephalandra Catherinae . I have 6 neons, 6 glow ights, 2 algae eaters, and 4 female bettas. The tank is also getting Daphnia.
You definitely want a stand made specifically for an aquarium for the Flex 32.5. When full of water and decorations, the tank will weigh upwards of 350 lbs - dressers and other furniture are not at all made to support that kind of weight. We recommend using the Flex 32.5 stand: fluvalaquatics.com/us/product/flex-aquarium-stand-32-5-us-gal-123-l-black/
There are small gaps between the canopy and the top of the filtration compartment - airline tubing should be able to pass through! There are also two small slots at the back of the lid, through which airline tubing can pass as well.
Hi there! Since the Flex 32.5 lid completely covers the aquarium, you can't run an airline tubing into the aquarium without leaving the lid slightly open.
Oh this is dissapointing because i want floating plants and have to angle the output nozzles downward to reduce surface agitation, but then would need an airstone for oxygenation @fluval
I have a 32.5 Fluval tank and Love it, but I have a little problem with hair algae. I have dual lighting set low on all colors with the white at 58%, red is 27%,green is 26% and blue is 13% and the lights come on at 9am and go off at 6 pm. I've treated the log with Hydrogen Peroxide and scrubbed it. I took out the live plants and cleaned the algae off and about 2 weeks later the algae is back. What am I doing wrong?
Hi Lewis, thanks for your comment! From your description it sounds like you are on the right track. Currently your light is operating for 9 hours per day. We recommend lowering this to 6-7 hours as longer light periods contribute to algae growth. Paired with more frequent water changes (once to twice weekly), you will start to see a reduction in hair algae. We hope this helps!
This needs a matching stand, like the stand for the 15 gallon Flex. The only question is, would it be enough support to hold all that weight? If not, could you just put two 15 gallon stands together? Your standard stand for it doesn't really match the curvature of the tank.
Hi there! The intake slots on the Flex 32.5 are smaller than those of the Flex 9 and 15, and - as is the case with all Flex aquariums - if the large foam block is correctly installed, it is not possible for fish and shrimp to pass through to the pump chamber.

Why is the pump so loud? Insane noice. I had a flex 15 gal i believe it was and got ride of it cuz of that loud pump. I really like the look of this bigger flex and would like too buy one but now hearing that pump again I think not. I have the edge and I loooove it! Never had that issue with pump noice with the edge.
What dimension is the back piece to the glass? I am looking to get this tank for 2 goldfish. However; I am concerned that part of the tank is going to be too narrow. I have looked for the dimensions but they are not posted anywhere! Any help would be greatly appreciated!
@@fluval Hi Fluval, thanks for responding. I should have articulated my question a bit better. By the "back piece" I was referring to the place where the filter goes. I feel it might extend out too much, causing too much of a narrow passage in the middle of the aquarium.
Tad, when you program the bluetooth controlled LED lighting system in the Flex 32 you are doing so via the Fluval Smart App. The bluetooth chip resides in the light unit itself and will continue to operate the light unit according to your program, whether in manual or auto mode. If there is a power interruption you will simply have to reconnect with your mobile device to reset the clock.
Fluval, maaybe you should consider doing a Megaflex that is like "135.7 gallons" or some other kind of other non orthodox tank size, hell, 232.5, gallon capacity, 347.9 gallon capacity, as long as it is HUGE. And for 1 reasn, because bigger=more epic=more notoriety from the fish community=more respect and props and words of mouth=THE KING OF THE FISH TANK GAME, HANDS DOWN. And then introduce wide varieties of new monstrously huge models, many of them limited edition and with unique colors (black model, gold model, platimum model, jasmine model, etc) and all kinds of models featuring different curvatures of the flex for optimized viewing tailored to the customer's specific needs and how they would like to optimize their tank-viewing experience. And you could expand on the led lighing, especially the special features such as the "storm mode" which was cool. Maybe you could have a "sunset mode" for example, with flourescent lights mimicking the vibe of a sunset. Or any mumber of self programmable patterns. Just do some really gnarly and psychedelic things with the led supply and that would be the bomb. I guarantee you that there are tons of fish people who would be totally psyched if you came out with some bigger flex tanks. its a really cool deign. As long as the price was doable... I think i'm gonna draw up some concept art of imaginary fluval high capacity flex tanks. Fluval, tell me if you are interested in seeing my drawings, which I will start as soon as I can find a spare minute. Man, I just need to join your marketing department! Ha Ha... surriously i need a jo b..... but..... more importantly.. a 135.7 gallon flex model. :)
Are you guys ever going to make a 55 gallon flex ??? Is there anything in the works ? I want to buy a bigger flex but don’t want to get the mega flex and then a bigger one comes out.
Yea I have a fluval 306 canister on my 29 gallon. Top basket full to the rim with bio media. This flex filter system doesn't look like it has a lot of bio media.

@@UncalBertExcretes I'm thinking this is more of a novice setup / low-maintenance tank you can proudly display in your media room or some other dim area of the home. I definitely want it but wouldn't put a whole lot in it, just some easy fish that guests will enjoy.
I like the white version of this tank but would prefer to use it as a saltwater setup. Is there room in the media chamber to add the Fluval PS1 protein skimmer like it is for the Fluval flex 32 Marine version? Thanks!
Hi Kimberley! You can apply a background to the back of the tank normally, but it will only be visible on each side of the rear filtration section, and will be partially blocked by the honeycomb pattern on the back of the aquarium.
I actually REALLY want a Mega Flex 32 gallon setup, BUT I want the same remote control as the flex 9 and 15, I have no time for mobile phones and apps. I do hope the Mega flexwill be offered with the conventional lighting control as the 9 and 15
Hi Daniel, that depends on a few things - how frequently do you perform partial water changes, how large is your tank, what kind of fish do you have and how many, how densely planted is your tank, etc. In general, changing 25-50% of the water on a weekly basis is recommended.
@@fluval I have the mega flex I have for planting not very big and three ornaments just started not any fish in yet but will be just tropical so is the 32.5 gallon

The fluval flex 9 & 15 gallon came with a intake screen I could easily put some sponge in to so shrimp or nano fish couldn't get in to the reservoir but the 32.5gal didn't come with that feature. I tried cutting some floss to put behind the intake vents but it's very difficult to get it all the way top the bottom vent. Are there any plans for a similar screen attachment for the 32.5gal? If not do you have any tips or recommendations on how to make the tank safe for my shrimp/nano fish? Any input would be greatly appreciated! I haven't put any live stock in yet as the tank is currently still cycling 🙂
The difference from our observation is approximately 1/16th of an inch greater on the 32.5 gallon vs. A 14778 which is the screen for the other two models. While there are no immediate plans for a screen for this model we will evaluate going forward, thank you for the comment.

@@fluval I'm seriously considering buying one for saltwater use, I will probably have to modify the lid to fit a HOB skimmer though. Do you have any lights that will support coral and will fit into the slots of this tank? If not it NEEDS to happen
Is there room to add a possible powerhead to the setup? I'm thinking of having a species of fast river fish.
You can certainly add a small circulation pump to one end of the aquarium.
Did Fluval discontinue the 5 gallon Spec? Can't seem to find them anymore.
The 5 gallon Spec has not been discontinued, you may reach out to the Fluval support team available to you by visiting fluvalaquatics.com and engaging the customer support page. Please make sure to select your country when visiting the site.
How many kg is the tank without water in it and is it 123L with the filter compartment in or without the filter compartment in?
Hi! The tank weighs about 24 kg on its own. The 123 L volume includes the filter compartment at the back of the tank!
Why is the pump so loud? Insane noice. I had a flex 15 gal i believe it was and got ride of it cuz of that loud pump. I really like the look of this bigger flex and would like too buy one but now hearing that pump again I think not. I have the edge and I loooove it! Never had that issue with pump noice with the edge.
does anybody know when it will this particular freshwater tank be released??
Giancarlo, availability varies by market, in North American the unit is shipping during December 2018.
@@fluval when will the megga flex be available in the UK?
@@TimeOut22 it's available, i picked up a white one with cabinet from maidenhead aquatics yesterday.
@@TimeOut22 £249 without cabinet.
@@fluval thank you! I am looking forward in getting this type of aquarium!
What dimension is the back piece to the glass? I am looking to get this tank for 2 goldfish. However; I am concerned that part of the tank is going to be too narrow. I have looked for the dimensions but they are not posted anywhere! Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Hi David, the back piece of glass is 32.5" L x 15.75" H. The aquariums dimensions are 32.5 x 15.35 x 15.75"
(82 x 39 x 40 cm). Hope this helps! 😊
@@fluval Hi Fluval, thanks for responding. I should have articulated my question a bit better. By the "back piece" I was referring to the place where the filter goes. I feel it might extend out too much, causing too much of a narrow passage in the middle of the aquarium.
Does the bluetooth have to be on all the time ?
Can you programme it and with the transmitter off ?
*SWITCH the transmitter off.
How strong is the glass? I've read one review that the glass is thin and shattered.
Darryl, glass can break if impacted by a solid object, in our testing and from field data to date we see no reason for concern.
It is not currently being considered.
Nice... but the filtration system is lacking. You could seriously optimise it, but you have left unused areas
The filtration capacity offers capacity beyond the needs of a 32.5 gallon and how it would be typically stocked.
Yea I have a fluval 306 canister on my 29 gallon. Top basket full to the rim with bio media. This flex filter system doesn't look like it has a lot of bio media.
@@fluval Typically stocked you say? So that means a redtail catfish, an alligator gar, 16 goldfish and a koi? lol
You mean, how it SHOULD be stocked lol
I would like to see a model of this tank that comes bare, without the filter built in.. Some people would much rather run their own external canister for customise ability
@@UncalBertExcretes I'm thinking this is more of a novice setup / low-maintenance tank you can proudly display in your media room or some other dim area of the home. I definitely want it but wouldn't put a whole lot in it, just some easy fish that guests will enjoy.
Upgrade the filtration yourself, get a chemical engineering degree and go work for fluval yourself since you know best
can you the light and filter be replaced when broken ?
Hi there! Yes, if necessary, you can purchase a replacement LED and return pump. However, with proper usage, this shouldn't be necessary!
I like the white version of this tank but would prefer to use it as a saltwater setup. Is there room in the media chamber to add the Fluval PS1 protein skimmer like it is for the Fluval flex 32 Marine version? Thanks!
There is a cutout in the canopy to accept the collection cup.
Great video! No BS and very informative. I’m sold.
Glad it was helpful! 😊
The middle section water level of my fluval is lower than than the tank water level. Is this normal ?
Hi there! Yes, it's normal - you can learn about this phenomenon here: ua-cam.com/video/tWZ4oh04Wyg/v-deo.html
My son wants one of these tanks but I know he’ll want to put a background. Can some please let me know if you can put on this tank?!
Hi Kimberley! You can apply a background to the back of the tank normally, but it will only be visible on each side of the rear filtration section, and will be partially blocked by the honeycomb pattern on the back of the aquarium.
@@fluval thank you for the information. I am looking forward to owning one!
What ever happen to the larger edge believe 19g?

I actually REALLY want a Mega Flex 32 gallon setup, BUT I want the same remote control as the flex 9 and 15, I have no time for mobile phones and apps. I do hope the Mega flexwill be offered with the conventional lighting control as the 9 and 15
Can I ask how much water should take out for a water change please
Hi Daniel, that depends on a few things - how frequently do you perform partial water changes, how large is your tank, what kind of fish do you have and how many, how densely planted is your tank, etc. In general, changing 25-50% of the water on a weekly basis is recommended.
@@fluval I have the mega flex I have for planting not very big and three ornaments just started not any fish in yet but will be just tropical so is the 32.5 gallon
I’m looking for a Capital D shaped 125 Plexiglass or Acrylic Tank. Less than 2’ high, about 6’ long. Can you help or direct?
was the hum in the background the tank and is that noisy
Joanne, the hum is due to many tanks, large skimmers, sumps, water preparation barrels, etc.... that are behind the background in the fluval aquatic cave :) Thanks for the heads up, next time we will be more attentive to background noise.
I had the 15g flex and liked it, but my biggest complaint is that the lid isn't hinged so there's no place to put it while getting your hands in the tank. I really want this 32g. Is the lid hinged on this one?
Hello! The Flex 32.5 does not have a hinged lid, but you can easily prop it open with a suitably-sized object!
@@fluval ok, now does it have room for an airline because I'll have to point the nozzles downward to keep floating plants, thus needing an airstone
Yes! You can thread airline tubing through the top of the rear filtration compartment.
@fluval great...thank you
Why is the bottom of the tank in black instead of white ?
The Flex 32.5 US Gal / 123 L aquarium kit is available in both black and white!

Okay I have a few questions for you 1 how much is it and one of y'all going to do bigger by 65 75 and the 90
Your local Fluval retailer will be able to answer your question on pricing, please check with them. We expect to sell the 32.5 very well, I'm sure we will be considering part two of your question in the near future.
It’s in the 250 dollar range.
My first ever tank ideal for a beginner
I have a chance to get one of these at a great price. However, I want a saltwater tank. Is that possible with this tank? Have only been doing saltwater for 4 months, so not sure. I currently have the 13.5 Evo.
Hi there! A saltwater version of the Flex 32.5 is available: fluvalaquatics.com/us/shop/product/flex-aquarium-set-32-5-us-gal-123-l-black
The freshwater version of the Flex 32.5 is equipped with an Aquasky 2.0 LED, which is suitable for reef tanks but not optimized for them. We offer a Marine 3.0 LED for this tank, which will effectively grow almost all corals: fluvalaquatics.com/us/shop/product/marine-3-0-bluetooth-led-for-flex-saltwater-aquarium-kit-32-5-us-gal-123-l
@@fluval Thank you for the response. If you or anyone on this thread has any tips or suggestions on how to make my new tank shrimp safe I'd love to hear your input :)
KE, the most important tip we can provide is limit the fish to only very peaceful nano species, if you include any at all and especially if your intent is to see baby shrimp....
How Long till the stand is available with the stand? I would like to get one.
Are you guys considering making a larger Fluval Flex tank? Like a 50-70 gallon? There is a lot of interest in one. I am definitely one!
Thank you for the input, it has been noted.
Will we ever see a tank like this with the option to use a Fluval Plant 3.0 light? I've always found the aquasky to be a bit lacking par for many of the plants I would want to keep in a tank like this.
Bentley, given the depth of the Flex, the light output of the supplied Aqua Sky will impress.
@@fluval I appreciate the response, but that doesn't answer my question - will we see a product in the future which utilizes your amazing Plant light? Frankly, its the best off the shelf light I've used for both PAR, spectrum, features and control... its a great light - will I see a product in the future that let's me use this light on a tank like the Flex? I love my Flex 15 and I'd love to see a super charged flex with the Plant 3.0 light.
Bentley, we took your question to mean in regards to the Flex 32.5, our mistake. All we can say is at this point it is possible, yes.
@@fluval No worries and to respond: I'd love to see one! I think the flex is a wonderful tank, I love its look and the design, my betta does very well in his Flex 15 home and the chance at a bigger tank with a great light interests me a ton. Keep making the amazing products you make!
@Fluval Aquatics Would a plant 3.0 not fit in the extra spot or even replace the aqua sky that's already in it?
Great looking tank! Can you use that aquarium as saltwater reef tank?
LeeROBD probably, you would need to upgrade the filtration and lighting.
You can however there is a marine version in the works...stay tuned!

How many Gallons Per hour is this pump on the Mega Flex rated for?
And does anyone know the dimensions of this pump?
The pump's flow rate is 132 US Gal/h (500 L/h), and its dimensions are 10.5 cm x 6.5cm x 12.5cm.

Does it have a opening we’re co2 system can go ?..... also is there a salt water ?? Can you put a fluval 3.0 instead of a aquasky
Ive found the rear central camber will fit a co2 diffuser and just enough of a gap at the back for a air tube. If don't mind it hidden.
Lee Bennett thanks you....are the lights that come with 3.0?
@@Aquatic_Amigo No, i don't believe it's the 3.0 Series. It's a 21w 63 LED Bluetooth Aquasky 14549. It does say you can add a second, but it doesn't look like that model number has been released yet.
Lee, thank you.
I feel like Fluval need to put these improvements to the lid on their smaller flex tanks, such as the feeding hole cover!
Can this only be used for freshwater or could a reef or saltwater fish only system would work in there ? If not is there ever going to be a bigger version of the evo in the future
It can be used for saltwater, however, stay tuned, a marine version is in the works for next year.
@@fluval oh snap how many gallons would it be or u cant say yet?
@@lulubega595 The same, 32.5 gallons.
Can you use it for Saltwater?
Raul, a marine version will be available soon, it will contain the right LED lighting system for marine, best to wait for that version.
Will this be available on amazon like the 9 and 15? (If not I can obviously see why! Things huge!)
You know what would be really awesome? Expanding the bluetooth programmability to have an arbitrary lighting schedule. As most people aren't home during the middle of the day to view their aquarium. Where as being able to program a lighting cycle in the morning, and another in the evening, would be fantastic.
There is an update coming soon, it will allow for light breaks during the day. Thanks for the patience.
