I can't believe that Sammy Hagar is in his mid 70's!!!! He looks amazing.
aging slower than any human
He looks better than Dave did at 47
Always the diplomat. Sammy is a class act. RIP Eddie.
I love Sammy, but diplomat? Can he not do an interview without talking about the soap opera bullshit from Van Halen? He's been out of the band for 18 years.
@@ronnie_5150I agree but he’s also asked about it in every interview
@@ronnie_5150He was directly asked by Howard about the issue.
He could say before the interview he didn't want to get into it. Most celebrities have a list of things they don't want to talk about that the interviewer knows about before hand. @@jdm1039
@SirJames917 How did he bash them???? He spoke nothing but the truth, and didn't denigrate them
really sad they couldnt do anything together ...what a band ...what a career ...RIP EDDIE.
Michael Anthony is an amazing bassist!! Very talented but sadly underrated.
Michael Anthony also has tremendous vocal ability.
@@doncicci9608 YES!! Amazing vocals too!
he’s a bum lol - didn’t even play bass on record after
Women and Children First, he’s Johnny 1-String. can’t deny his harmonic abilities though 🤷🏻♂️
I don't think he's underrated at all. Everyone acknowledges he's great and his abilities are legendary
Legend! \,,/
Bless George Lopez for telling Sammy to call Ed. Good for Sammy to call him. Not everyone gets to have a compassionate talk before one dies.
We all know the real problem is that Linda cursed the band by wearing the Van Halen t-shirt.
LOL, I loved that movie.
Saw Sammy and Mike last week they sounded fantastic so impressed
Sammy STILL has one of the best voices in rock and roll. Most singers have lost their shit by 50. Has anyone seen Vince Neil lately. Or seen him sing?
Or dlr
Or David Lee Roth? He can't carry a tune in a suitcase
I saw Motley Crue last week and Neil was atrocious. Absolute embarrassment.
@@LoungeActVideosI agree.
Yea Vince and David lost it
at 76, Sammy looks better than the majority of 50 year olds.
I'm 49. Can confirm.
HES 76?! holy shit! im 42 and I hope I look that good.
LOL
Stern is 69 and looks older than Sam
A little trt improves everyone..
R.I.P. Eddie
We will always remember you.
Love Eddie. Hard to believe he is gone 😢
Hagar's book was incredible. He's a legit CEO
Sammy is one of the most amazing vocalists of an era and still sings pretty well at 76. He’s a major influence on me as a vocalist and bassist and playing alongside Michael Anthony is the best of both worlds. Two major influences on me
Jesus he is 76?????? That is absolutely mad. He has kept in amazing shape
@@_Uh_Oh_ mind, body and spirit
Michael Anthony is the greatest back up vocals in the business and an amazing top five bass player
Not even close.
This part of the interview must've really felt uncomfortable to Jason Bonham. I don't think that connection occurred to Howard...
Good point.
Can you explain what you mean?
@@aweberf2225
Bonham passed from his drinking problem.
Ah, yes. Thanks. I thought maybe you were referring to something else.
I was fortunate to catch EVH on a good night during that 2004 reunion tour cause he sounded good in SA.
The manager hes referring to is Ray Danniels , also the manager of Rush and at the time Alex Van Halen's brother in law.
And thank you Ray for doing such a great job managing my favorite band Rush. Rest in peace.
@@Joe-mz6dcHe shoulda stayed with them, cause he trashed VH lol.
Love Sammy and Michael! Miss Eddie!
First Sammy Hagar song I ever heard was Three Lock Box on MTV.
Great tune. One of my favorites by Sammy.
Micheal Anthony needs to talk more.
I agree....even if he tried, I doubt he could get a word in.
Sammy needs to talk less.
I always preferred him on vocals instead of David Lee Roth..Mr. flamboyant
Eddie had a problem with David...he had a problem with Sammy...he had a problem with Michael. Maybe Eddie was the problem.
this was my takeaway
Yep
Crack is wack
Insecure.
Sammy needs to own up on how he spilled all the Eddy embarrassing dirt in his book. It may all be true, but I wish Sam hadn’t done it. He could have talked about Ed’s substance abuse without so much detail, and gotten his point across. And that’s probably the reason Ed and Al would not speak to him.
The book was the nail in the coffin with any chance of a relationship Ed, Alex and Wolfie.
Michael Anthony is solid.... I love Van Halen before 84 with DLR, but they really did mike dirty.
Howard and his bro love stories 😂
Read Sammy’s book, couldn’t put it down. Really enjoyed his book.
Howard Stern. I miss you so much from your days on television. You are the absolute bomb and best interviewer to ever exist. Not that I don’t respect the likes of Cavett and letterman and Carson. But you have a rare passion. Rare.
WWOR 9
Amazing how Howard can talk to somebody and get deep into their lives
I want to believe this, I really hope they did patch things up before Eddie passed.
That’s a lie from sam
@@Mah_UsernameBut is it though? How do you know?
@@Mah_Username how do you know?
@@zacatkinson3926 Sammy is a used car salesman. Can't believe much of what he says.
@@UptempoMusicLessons why should I believe you?
Sammy couldn't drive 55. He said so. Ed obeyed the speed limit. Its a difference they couldn't reconcile.
Sammy is a scofflaw!
Thank You, GEORGE LOPEZ for what you did. You helped Heal 2 Souls.
I don't believe it happened.
R.I.P King Edward
The book I'd really love to read about VH needs to be written by Mikey.
Mike wouldn't . He's got class unlike Captain Candyass .
That manager situation with Van Halen, same thing with the Beatles. They brought Allen Klein in & that caused a HUGE rift with the Beatles.
I wish we could trade Stern for Eddie!
Ouch lol
THX!!!
And the fact you didnt know Sammy shows why you shouldnt have wrote about Eddie how you did...sometimes words cant be taken back and thats why without Alex and Wolf involved this tribute means shit
Seems to me the natural progression is to reunite Van Halen with Wolfgang playing guitar and Sammy singing.
Alex needs to get his shit together to respect his brothers legacy and do a few shows to honor Eddie. Eddie deserves that.
Alex only needs to do what he feels is best for him. We have NO idea how he feels and maybe he still doesn't either.
You need to mind your own business .
Really sad about Ed ....To think the music that was left on the table.
even if he died at 100 there'd be music left on the table
While waiting for Dave to finish his EP promoting business , Ed and Donn Landee did 2 albums worth of songs that didn't get mixed . Ed played all the instruments separately and each of the tapes were in code NOT by name . Donn stored all the codes into a TRS-80 computer and it crashed . They hired an expert to fix the hard drive but couldn't .
Howard your depth is beautiful.
Because Howard is a MASSIVE fan of Van Halen.
2:10 accurate
The "rift" came from Sammy's book, Eddie {and Alex) weren't too happy about it.
Definitely more to the story I can tell
Where was Robin?
Great Musician's ❤❤❤
Great musician's what?
@@UptempoMusicLessons They are musician's musicians.
I remember the reunion tour and was so disappointed.
It was obvious that everyone on stage at the show I went to was fucked up.
I wished Eddie could of slayed those demons. We missed out on a decade of great music but now we have Wolfie to fill that void.
I want to know why EVH didn’t make his peace with Mikey.
Keep wondering .
It's sad. Howard asked MA about those things Ed said about him? MA attitude is incredible.
Awesome dudes
I miss ur on the road TV show Sammy.
If I knew what I found out later, I wouldve been so muchmore forgiving, but it was too late.
Always wanted to know why.
you just saw why... Sammy tells their business too much. Sammy talks too much about Van Halen's private business and personal matters. He brings up things that Eddie and Alex do not want made to the public. Sammy is a gossiper.
So what made Stern change his opinion on Hagar?
Love Sammy
😮
Hannibal! Huge fan of yours. You a fan of Red Rocker?
I am 50, and I don’t look or have the energy he has at 76….
Sam you did Pepsi with Eddie MONEY HA😂
Greatest band ever
@3:21 That is a scary picture.
76 and his voice still sounds better than axl….
He's always sounded better than Axl, no matter what age they are.
Axl sounded pretty good sitting in for AC/DC.
One of those universal questions that nobody seems to able to answer, why do rock stars feud so much?
Ego
@@willandspencer101Correct!
@@willandspencer101 You nailed it. And massive amounts of insecurity.
The same qualities that make them successful eventually tear them down.
Ego, power trips, and money.... Mainly i me mine ..
I.M.O. don't get Ray Danniels for a manager...
Ray Daniels kept Van Halen present in the 90s. He did his job. Millennials got 90s Van Halen, which was great.
Oh. I didn't know. How convenient!
I miss EVH being in the world....
Sammy SO More 🪨⚒️
Howard might want to stop playing Freud. He keeps projecting.
💯 %
So wrong
0:41 Joe Satriani standing in the background not looking entirely comfortable with what Sammy’s saying. Sammy’s got a strong personality and it shouldn’t be surprising that he clashed with Eddie the same way he clashed with Ronnie Montrose. Just sayin’
You're reading way too much into a half second micro expression. I wouldn't assume anything, nobody's a mind reader
Calm down weirdo , dudes waiting for the song to start Ffs 🤦
Manager Ray Danniels destroyed this lineup of the band so he could make a quick buck with the DLR version of the band.
R.I.P. EVH
I saw Van Hagar of their "reunion" in Mississippi. Jesus, Eddie was a mess.
His sparkling personality didn’t kick in ? 😂😂
Howard always has to make shit weird.
How’s your radio show ?
It was Howie!!! Shit happens, people get divorced. You know!
I always see you commenting in Van Halen vids. You are so funny. 😃
Eddie is one of the reasons i don’t drink. It can get out of hand.
I'm a big Sammy fan. Always have been and always will be, but he should stop speaking on his relationship with Eddie and the reasons they drifted apart. Eddie isn't here to tell his side if he chose to.
It's gonna be a great show, but I feel a little sorry for Vic Johnson.
Mass majority were thrilled about Hagar being kicked to the curb and the great David Lee Roth returned
I have only been Van Halen with Roth as the singer even though I’ll give Sammy credit with his career
😂😂😂😂😂😂 Roth não canta nem em restaurante italiano mais..
Damn. Howard is gone.
56th
I don't see it that way at all.
Can't believe Sammy is actually 76. He looks and sounds amazing still
😂
Does a week ever go by without Sammy giving a new interview talking about Van Halen?
What else would he talk about when interviewed? If you interview Mickey Mantle, you talk baseball. When you interview a lead singer of a famous band, you talk about the band
Is that his fault? Only answering questions bro
I mean, people still ask McCartney about his days with the Beatles. Hagar's time with Van Halen was a huge part of his career and shaped where he is today. There's a decent chance that his legacy would have been less colorful without that chapter. A lot of super-talented 80's vocalists have disappeared after their career stalled for one reason or another.
You’re talking about those dummies without being asked ,
3rd
George Lopez💯💯
Sammy had a great solo career and was great in Montrose. Van Halen was sublime in their first incarnation. This band didn't need to be, except that Roth was an insane egomaniac. The rest of Van Halen deserved to enjoy themselves.
Sublime ? The band's first album and their 1984 album outsold the whole Van Hagar albums combined . None of the Van Hagar albums came close to those two albums alone .
George lopez spoke up. Thats crazy
George Lopez?!?!?!?!?!
P
Stern is such a phoney. Watch his prior videos where he slags Sammy to DLR.
Sammy can do no wrong in his own eyes
The band was evh and everyone knows it. Without him, the band was crap
No, Alex had a signature drum sound, him and Eddie played really well together
Don't forget Michael Anthony vocals too
So now Sam says he “called” Ed. Okay. He used to say they were texting. Every time he tells this story the details change.
- Van Hagar? - NOOOOOO!
I had read he first called Ed then it was mainly texting after the reconciliation
No, he said it was texting, loved Sammy long before VH and loved EVH separately from 78 on, that said Sammy's FOS sometimes with his mister innocent sht
I thought I heard him say he mostly text him with a phone call or two involved.
1st
Should he really be talking all about it.wouldn’t it be better to leave it
Tell that to every single interviewer asking the questions.
Sammy most likely wanted more money than Eddie was willing to part with. Sammy's a shrewd businessman, let's not forget.
Well in his book he did say one point of contention with the Van Halen brothers was Alex getting a third of the song writing credit when he didn't contribute to it. He and Ed should have been splitting the royalties 50/50.
@@Siloguy well, being Eddie's band, I'm sure he wanted 51/50.

I prefer Dave's time with Van Halen...but I always respected Sammy Hagar because he did everything possible to keep Van Halen going
