i got the trident 660 this year, then rode this bike at triumph event and now i regret the 660. This bike makes all the right sounds

I have heard that the Trident 660 is a great bike

@@tankslapmoto9999 for the price it is unbeatable, however it is small cc so lacks the rumble of the 1200, and that delicious torque! After riding the 1200 i absolutely fell in love with it.

I have a gen 1, had it for 3 years. its actually a really capable bike. deceptively quick as its so low revving. i've a few mods to mine, and i've got roughly 15hp up over stock. I surprise my mates on their monster 1200's and mt10's all the time lol. to turn TC off you need to be stationary and in Neutral. then scroll through the menu using the info button.

Hey, thanks for your comment. I agree that it is definitely capable, but unlike my Tuono or an MT10, it doesn't take itself as seriously (which is very appealing). I was thinking there must be a way to turn the TC off, I could feel it holding the bike back. Cheers👍

What mods u got. This is what I'm considering next after my Ninja SX.

@@matthewjackson3034Tec performance camshaft, nitron suspension front and rear, zard 2-1 exhaust, DNA filter, lithium battery and it's been Dyno tuned. it's around 7-9 kg lighter than a stock bike too. Stock is 96 at the crank on the first gen and 99 on the second gen. Mines estimated 115 at the crank, and handles (almost) like my old street triple!

How is it on the highway as far as passing power at higher speeds? I have a Suzuki sfv650 with only 75hp and would like more power on the highway. It does fine in the city but would prefer quicker acceleration on the highway to get around and away from cars when needed. I’ve been looking at the speed twin as well as mt-10, Suzuki gsx-s1000 and monster 1200. I definitely would like to go euro as it would be something different.

@@keltecdanI don't really use highways much but the times I have been it's absolutely fine. Obviously no wind protection without a screen. Passing power, no problems whatsoever. You've got peak torque from 3000 Rpm. I've geared mine up from 16 to 17 on the front sprocket so it's a little less buzzy at higher speed. 70 mph is just over 3500 Rpm, but it's still relatively short geared. Will top out around 130 mph.

You can turn TC off, cycle through the menu then hold the button down on TTC and it'll go to off

Thanks, I will remember that for next time. I could feel the TC generally holding it back in the lower gears, so it would be nice to just turn it off.

I think the XSR suits your riding style a lot better.

I think you are probably right mate, but I did feel kinda cool just cruising around, it's a pretty motorcycle in the flesh. I think I could still hustle on it if the mood took me😃

This is what I'll be looking to get when my pcp is up for renewal. Ninja SX at the moment. (23).

There is something about the Speed Twin, I am thinking about selling my Tuono and buying a used one of these, they are not the fastest, most practical, etc, but it makes you feel cool just cruising around, they are really fun and engaging at slow speeds, which is the opposite of my Tuono and probably also very different to a smooth Ninja SX👍
