First Ride of my new Triumph Bonneville Bobber, Gold Line, complete with forward controls. Never owned a "cruiser" before, but something about that Bobber style just drew me in, to my eyes it's such a great looking bike. I am very impressed with the overall fit and finish and the attention to detail, the paint finish is also exceptional. As for the ride, it is surprisingly fun with a great soun...
2023 Tenere 700 | The sweet spot in Mid-Size Adventure motorcycles?
Переглядів 1,3 тис.8 місяців тому
Back out on the Yamaha Tenere 700, I think this is only the second time out on the bike this year... the weather has been so bad, so wet and generally unpleasant, but it was good to shake the rust off and get some much needed motorcycle therapy! Conditions were tough, but with a bit of momentum and feet on the pegs, the 200kg's just disappears... unless you find yourself on the ground of course...

New adventures in 2025 my friend 🎉😅
100%
Had mine a week. First impressions, really strong engine, sweet gearbox, very taut chassis, nice brakes. Goes like stink in other words. First triple I’ve owned and I will confirm the CP3 is everything they say it is.
Good to hear that you are enjoying it, I have owned and ridden triples from Triumph that are great, but there's something special about the Yamaha CP3.
Hi. Did you get quickshifte fitted? Did you get a genuine one and how much did you pay if you don't mind sharing?
Hi, yeah, it was a genuine Aprilia quickshifter, I think I paid about £200. They were on back order at the time, so the dealer shipped it to my address and I fitted it myself (easy 20 minute job) but, unfortunately, you need the dealer to "turn on" the functionality in the ecu (unlike some other bikes, Yamaha for example where there is a DIY procedure to activate it). The dealer didn't charge to turn it on, only 5 mins on the laptop.
Just bought one, after years of being on 1000cc and much bigger engined bikes I’ve moved towards more mid size. My other bike is a 750 that I got in the summer. They are more fun, much lighter and tbh easier to get on with. IMHO of course.
I agree, I think the middle weight class is where it's at👍
Sending it some there lad, top effort 👍
Haha cheers👍
One of the often unmentioned benefits of 20+ year old bikes is you not only get them cheap they don't realy loose any value however often you want to change for something new. You can go through a lot of different bikes over the summer months for very little cost. (ride them in winter and they will turn to shit overnight)
so glad i waited for the 2024 edition the new screen is amazing plus gen 3 quckshifting
So simple, love it mate
Hi! Nice upgrade! Do you have an idea which brembo rear caliper will fit?
Cheers, no unfortunately not, there was no simple solutions from memory, you'd probably have to buy something like a Brembo P2 and then a carrier adapter (or make the adapter).
ZX9 is very fast!--143 bhp but built for the road and not the track!-That's why flashy new bikes don't make you smile as much as £2000 early Blade or Z9????
Wooop woop... One legend and a half riding together... 😂... Great day my friend
Haha... it was a lot of fun mate, and one of us kept her on two wheels for the whole day!
@@tankslapmoto9999 😅😅😀, yes true but you can ride like Chris Birch and you are better looking as well 😝
Wooop Wooop... Best adventure so far... 😅. And more to come.
Are you uk based?
Awesome bike, this and the speed twin 1200 are on my next bike list. Thoughts on both and why you chose the xsr bud? Also how’s the seat as I’ve heard it’s tough on the bottom
Cheers👍 The Speed Twin is a great bike, goes well, sounds really good, looks the part, well finished, but for me, it just didn't stir the soul, it wasn't anywhere near as exciting to ride as the Yamaha. The Triumph is a bit like a nice cup of tea, whereas the Yam is a bit more double espresso. The seat is firm on the XSR, but not as bad as people make out, you'd want to get off after 100 miles, but you will probably be stopping for fuel anyway.
@@tankslapmoto9999 awesome thanks for the reply dude! Guess I’ll just need to test them both out!
We are not riding like this on Sunday 😂
Helpful tip: Rebound is totally dependent upon pre-load. You can set it in your garage. Generally, the higher the preload, the higher the rebound damping. Compress & release, you don't want it bouncing at the top. Soft rebound will result in a bouncy ride on the street. Cheers!
Huh. I haven't actually tried the LIF control on my '23 yet. I just turned it off. I wasn't aware it wouldn't allow clutch ups though. That's interesting
That's a 24 model
23 in Europe👍
Great video. I’m just after buying a new one and within the first 5 mins I know I won’t be changing bike for a very long time.love it . 👍
how do you break it in by wheeling and reving it?
On page 87 of the owners manual, under 'break in procedure', it clearly states that wheelies are strongly recommended to ensure that the motorcycle is correctly broken in, safeguarding the longevity and future riding pleasure from your new motorcycle...😉
The 200kg trail bike. 😂👍
These Boots saved your ankles Bro🙏 otherwise it would hurt i think 😅
These Boots saved your ankles Bro🙏 otherwise it would hurt i think 😅
I think you are right, you definitely need proper boots on these adventure bikes!
Never thought about this technique to measure sag...legend... We should meet up to do some green lanes mate... My new bike just landed few days ago 😄.. Ktm 1090 adventure r. Don't have insta anymore so will need to sort out communication somehow... 😅
Congrats on the 1090 Adventure R, I always liked the look of them, proper weapon. It would be great to meet up and hit some lanes. Email me your number: tankslapmoto@gmail.com
@@tankslapmoto9999 all sent mate look forward to talking about this green lane business 😀
Beautiful bike
Sounds great but not like the tuono. Have you still got the tuono?
Cheers, yes, the Tuono has gone. It was a great bike, and I loved the V4, but surprisingly, I found myself missing the CP3 and a middle weight bike on the road.
I drive in TCS mode 1 and drive mode 1 on the most aggressive settings and for the life of me I can’t get the bike up from power wheelies. Any advice? I don’t want to practice clutch ups until I’m comfortable controlling the bike from a power wheelie
Was your bobber part of the deal you did to get this one or did you sell it privately? Beautiful bike. Also very tempted to get one. Enjoy!
I just got mine!! Wow you make wheeling this bike look so easy!!! I would be a scaredy cat trying it lol
You have picked a great bike, such a fun machine. I am sure that you will be chucking it around and pulling wheelies in no time👍
Lovely bike, but the dog at the end is the real star here
Haha cheers, he's a good boy!
Nice 👌🏼
Nice 👌🏼
Hey mate, I'm thinking about picking one of these up in the next few days as the 2014-2016 are peanuts ATM.. love your review it's just what I was looking for. What was the reason you sold it?
I just fancied a change at the time more than anything, I had owned a few v twins prior to the Monster and was looking for a bit more refinement, something that was still fast but maybe a bit less "big V twin" at slow speeds (not that it is that bad at low rpm, it is fairly smooth compared to some v twins). I actually couldn't bring myself to properly sell it, my father now has it, I rode it just the other week and I couldn't believe how nice it was to ride.
You ride those b roads like a BOSS! Love it! I got a new GSXR 1000 which is great but I find myself out on my 2000 zx6r or my 1999 r6 more! They are great fun!! Keep the content coming buddy! I’m a new subscriber 👍
Cheers! It is true right, the older bikes just have a certain charm about them👍
Now I understand how it all works I still don't know what settings would be best for me 😂
All the way soft for cruising, all the way stiff for quicker response feel
Excellent choice of song !
Cheers 🍻
Any regrets now that it is gone?
No regrets (yet😄). It was a great bike, but I think the middle weight segment might be more enjoyable for me on the road. The Tuono could be a bit intense when you start winding it out on the smaller roads, the middle weight bikes are generally a bit less serious and more playful at lower speeds (for me)
@@tankslapmoto9999 Agreed - my brain says MT-09 or Tuono 660, but my heart says V4! The sound & feel of the V4 is sublime!
i got the trident 660 this year, then rode this bike at triumph event and now i regret the 660. This bike makes all the right sounds
I have heard that the Trident 660 is a great bike
@@tankslapmoto9999 for the price it is unbeatable, however it is small cc so lacks the rumble of the 1200, and that delicious torque! After riding the 1200 i absolutely fell in love with it.
Thank You Almighty God, I will buy one for myself
So fucking jealous…
What bikes have you got at the moment? I miss my SP.
Currently the T7, the XSR900, and the old ZX6R Ninja (which I haven't ridden in ages). I think you'd enjoy the XSR, very similar to our SP's but a bit more of a sporty riding position.
What setting was your anti wheeie set too here mate?
OFF👍
A return to the CP3! Do you still have the aprillia? Out of interest why choose the xsr over the new gen Mt-09? Have you had a chance to compare the gen 3 verses your old gen 2 Mt?
Back on 3 cylinders! The V4 Aprilia has gone (I can't keep them all, unfortunately) but my brother still has the 660 Tuono. I chose the XSR over the new MT09 just based on looks, but the new MT is definitely a step in the right direction, especially the SP. I haven't had a chance to try one yet, but I suspect that the changes to the riding position will make it feel more sporty and increase the front end feel over the previous gen.
How does it handle compared to the MT09SP with its Tracer swingarm etc.. did you consider the XSR900GP?
It handles a bit better than the Gen3 MT09 in my opinion, it has a more dynamic riding position with better front end feel, plus the longer swingarm allows the bike to accelerate harder with less wheelie. It will still lift the front on command but it just feels a bit more grown up, compared to the MT. I actually went to the dealership to put a deposit down on the XSR GP, but I ended up doing a deal on this one, I kinda always fancied one since it was released.
That’s so awesome. Definitely got that T7 flowing. 👊
Cheers 🍻
Insightful video and I’ll be definitely be studying the transcript to become fluent. Just waiting on delivery of my MT-09 SP 2023 (200 miles) and as a result was thinking that having the correct tools onboard for making the correct adjustments to accommodate expected changes in riding conditions might be a good idea. I see the slotted driver is pretty standard but wondered what size(s) Allen Key and whether that’s part of the tool kit provided? Thanks for the video 👌
So what was your solution to to Micro/pressure switch for the rcs.
cregtech.co.uk/shop/ols/products/brembo-master-cylinder-brake-module
I’ve been watching tests on these and was starting to think they were a commuter bike😂 but after watching yours I’m now happy that it’s a good bike cheers I’m going to pull the trigger and get one now 👍🏻
Nice one, it is definitely one of my favourite bikes at the minute. It is probably the best production engine for me, maybe better than the Aprilia V4, more engaging than the Yamaha CP4 as well...
Ohh no! I just found your channel and thought yes! Finally a channel that shows the true potential of the 09 and I was hooked since I just bought a 2023sp. And then you sold it 😢
I do miss the MT09, mainly that CP3 engine, which I think might just be the best production engine on sale today! Watch this space, I can see myself owning another Yamaha triple soon😉
I think the nuts are high on one side and low compression on the other. And preload on the hex? Or am i off?
Hi, what about pressure for theese ones, I found them much more wobbly than stock str at high speed with pressure by the book
Yeah I run slightly lower than standard pressures, but they do wobble at speed, I think it is just the nature of knobbly tires where the blockes squirm around. Sometimes you will see that on certain tires the knobs are linked together to give more rigidity (the Dunlop trailmax raids for example)
@@tankslapmoto9999 unfortunately that’s sounds like truth🥲 after stock rally str road performance of the bike is slightly reduced (but then very surprised what it can do off the pavement 👻)
