If they were close John would have shat himself. He almost fainted when a Robin squared up to him.

Was up at Curbar Saturday just gone. Got some great shots approaching sunset amongst the rocks and silver birches. No deer though!

Fun video Eddie. Nice shot of the deer. You’d have fun in my town filming deer as we have them in abundance. They’re all over the place even walking around downtown. Eating everyone’s flowers and veggie gardens. Herds of them sleeping in peoples yards. A few miles out of town we have elk everywhere roaming around.

Cheers Dave, our wild animals are slowly coming back to a sustainable population. It’s a tough journey, our government is allowing rivers to be polluted, we have dickheads on horseback hunting foxes with dogs and of course the threat of deforestation, but Brits are making themselves heard and there’s a lot of conservation going on.
We would shit ourselves if an Elk strolled up to us…

@@EddieSkelson I did not know all that was going on! I guess our government isn’t much better here though. I also didn’t know fox hunting still happened! I thought that was something I just saw on old TV movies! That would cause a lot of public outrage here I’m thinking. It’s very interesting how much I’m learning about other countries since starting this utube channel. It’s a look outside my own bubble. Haha the elk are large and very intimidating. I don’t want to get that close either! Just far enough back to shoot some film of them. Take care Eddie.

Love your relaxed style to these vlogs Eddie, makes them more fun. See you got the 600 out, going to have to get me a monster.

Cheers Alan, it’s easier to just be me than some ‘character’. I’m just lazy.
The 600 is out for sure but I’m still wildlife focused and haven’t seen any opportunities for landscapes.
I’m hoping to collaborate with a ‘real’ wildlife wanker, see how it’s done. Should be a hoot.

Hi Eddie that's the location I was telling you about when you introduced us to The Beast. I know the area as Big Moor but the edge is called White Edge. You definitely need to return when the Rut is in progress. The stags look very impressive with their full antlers and you get nice groups. Stag and his hinds. If you find White Edge Lodge on the map, the area below there can be worth checking. I had a Stag there last year less than 100m away so with my 150-600mm lens I could get some great shots. There's a great 'Lone Tree' at the East end of White Edge which you can see when walking up from the Lodge

Noted. Thanks Tufty. I had planned on visiting during the rut last year but life, as usual, got in the way. Rest assured I’ll be on Rut Watch this year. Although, that sounds a but dubious when I say it out loud.

@@EddieSkelson 🤣 the Stags do start getting 'frisky' late Sept but I've found the best time to visit are the first couple of weeks in Oct. They apparently are also more active when the weather is cold 🤔 which obvious can bring the classic warm breath shots that you see when the Stags are bellowing. I'll be there in Oct so may see you again ☺
