I miss this style so much. I wish they'd get Alan rigdon back I loved the ringing arpeggiated chords style riffs much more then the new style with the tapping. Which don't get me wrong the tapping style has some great moments but riffs like the intro to this song and the breakdown with the variation of it those ringing notes are a very special sound that give me chills I fucking love this song and also know how to play it. I've cried so much to this song it's helped me through a few heart breaks. I have such a deep emotional connection to this song both lyrically and musically that I don't even really share it with people. Spirits away is a secret hidden gem to me a masterpiece that's pure art. Thank you for the cover bro. You did a great job. I'm so happy you chose this criminally underrated masterpiece of a song

This is amazing dude. im a self taught guitarist too, been playing for a year and a half just learning tabs and stuff. do you have any advice for learning to play stuff like this? I try all the time and my brain hurts trying to keep up with the left hand stuff that it requires, also with the string skipping and palm muting on and off too. Like what should I practice playing to even be able to play this? early erra is peak guitar to me and it would be amazing to be able to jam and write my own riffs based off of it.
Hey man! Really appreciate all the kind words. I would just start slow using tabs. Programs like guitar allow you to do this. Over time you will get more comfortable with it and can increase the speed until you get to full speed. You can also look up specific workouts on youtube for certain techniques like string skipping if that's giving you a problem. I hope this helps!
