- Hello all, i had to cover this riff from mirar's amazing new EP. Decided to add on-screen tabs and what the pitch-shifter is doing so you can all learn it :). The tuning is: EBCEBEBC!

@@abaresongs yeah the tuning is very weird and the tension on half ur strings probably wont be good. I use daddario 80-9 set if that helps. I can make a video about the tuning but i'm on vacation rn so it'll take some time

Are those insane pitch shifts done manually in post or are they automated
@@greysonlenning579 they are automated. I can draw them in reaper with the plini x plugin. It also helps because otherwise the guitar would sound pretty different while recording.

@@Atticus_Moore i don't do them live (i dont even have a physical pedal haha) but i pre-program the shifts so that when i play along it sounds correct.

Are you playign on an 8 string? I thought they played on 7 strings?

Are using a pitch shifter pedal?
@@zax3 i used neuraldsp plini x's built in transpose knob and pre-programmed the pitch shifts!

Not really, most bands nowadays use backingtracks anyway, you can just pre-program the pitch shifts (like i did in this video) and its very doable. I'm pretty sure Vildhjarta has been doing it like this aswell.
Humanity’s last breath just opens a session with all the pitch shifting already programmed ans just plays their sets that way, it’s absolutely possible to play live.
