  • My 2nd and 3rd week at Roehl’s “get your CDL” program. I am happy and thankful that I passed and that I now have my CDL. I am very happy and thankful for my other fellow trainees who also passed and the ones who didn’t as well. I wish them all the best. They call this an accelerated program and I can now see why. You have to really put the time into your studying, driving skills, backing maneuvers and the tests that they give you through their Roehl app. Be safe and God bless!

    Congratulations on your CDL!
    I always try to remember that in this universe nothing moves without the hand of God. And God knew what you’re gonna be since before you were born.
    Blessings for you and you family!
    Be safe on the road!

    I knew you’d do it, congrats. One tip I can say is pay close attention to the street signs. Especially in the city I read them all. Because of bridge restrictions and road restrictions. You have to think most of the signs in the road are designed for trucks especially the speed limits around curves and bridge heights. Good job bro!!

      Thank you very much, Jordan 🙏 I am very happy to have the test over with at this point. Tomorrow is our last day and it’s just a half day. I definitely need to pay better attention to the signs myself. I missed two of them when he asked me on my CDL test. Like you said, that’s definitely very important information for truckers! Be safe out there and I hope you have a blessed and Merry Christmas!

    I’m trying to go up to training in Gary in April. I’ve felt pretty confident about it and I’ve watched plenty of videos from other trainees and honestly man, you’re the first person that’s posted videos that has made me nervous about the whole program. Wish me luck bro lol.

    • @bluegrassoutdoors
      @bluegrassoutdoors  5 місяців тому

      I wish you the best with it 👍 nervous may be a good thing, to an extent. Out of my group of 8, only 3 of us passed. The pretrip is the main thing to really study. When you’re at the hotel in your spare time. Things come at you quick there and they expect you to know them! When they say accelerated, they aren’t kidding haha. But if you study the pretrip, ALOT, and just pay attention, ask questions and work on your driving, you should do fine 👍 God bless

      Thank you for your response, sir. As I do with everything in my life, I will give my all to succeed. My wife and 3 daughters here in Cincinnati depend on it. Failure is not an option. My back is to the wall and forward is the only way to go. I’ll let you know WHEN I pass. Respect 🫡.

    If you fail, do you still have to pay them the money for the training? I’m speaking with a recruiter tomorrow about the GYCDL program. Congrats on your new career!

    • @bluegrassoutdoors
      @bluegrassoutdoors  19 днів тому +1

      Thank you very much 🙏 from what I understand, you still have to pay them if you fail because of the hotel, food, and instructors that they provide. I wish you the best with it and as long as you are willing to study and you really want it, I believe you will do fine 👍

    Yeah, I went there.
    Failed because Of my pre-trip, I knew all the parts and knew what to say. It just didn't come out the way it was supposed to Verbage was part of the reason.. But I will say It depends on who's training you. Because when I was there, people that had problems with backing? They had enough time to gather the people together. It's like five or six people that were there and from the Is the ones that were Not so good. By the end of the day you couldn't tell who was.
    Not Good
    Because by that point they all were hitting all Backing with no problem.. So, so it's really hard. I will say this when you're doing it by yourself Having somebody there that help you like. Your teammates would be ideal. Because then you can catch what you missed and get that in your head faster. So when you are presented that opportunity to take the test, you could be confident in knowing what you're doing and getting Verbage, right, and all that wants you accomplish that. Everything else is good once you've got your classes out of the way.. But for some reason I had an issue with trying. Also to get started because everybody got there. Scan cards. And they said that you can practice on the trucks in the yard, but you can't move The truck in the yard you can only practice. So when people came over and said they were going back over to the school.
    I didn't have the opportunity to go because I didn't have a scan card to enter the gate so I can physically put my hand on each component of the truck that was being asked, On that Pre trip Paper. Kind of suck that? I was the only one there both of my Quit because they couldn't get the Pre trip. So that's why they left.

    What's the process to get into CDL school and how much is the pay while you're in training?

    • @bluegrassoutdoors
      @bluegrassoutdoors  6 місяців тому

      The pay depends on the company that you go with. For Roehl, it is $616 a week while you do their 3 week training program. They also pay for your hotel and breakfast and lunch for that 3 weeks if you don’t live in the area. Then you go on the road with a trainer for around 3 weeks. I believe the pay is similar for that time as well. You can go here www.roehl.jobs to apply. There are many other trucking companies as well that offer paid CDL training. I would do your research on whatever company you choose 👍

  • @rjdraxler
    @rjdraxler Місяць тому +1

    Do they pay you to the end of the first week of training? How much? I'm interested

    • @bluegrassoutdoors
      @bluegrassoutdoors  Місяць тому

      You don't get paid until the end of the third week. And it's 1 weeks pay, so around $500 or so.

    Congratulations Dillon I knew you'd get it brother. I strongly agree with @jordans201 about street signs . Especially bridge height and city restrictions. Like where I am here there are bridges here that are 12'4 and lower . Truckers get struck all the time cause they are not paying attention to the signs. Maybe get you a trucker's GPS . Very happy for and your family brother 🫵👍

      Thank you very much, Kevin 🙏 that part worries me a lot. He had told me that his gps had led him into a residential neighborhood the other day as well in California. I’m hoping to avoid situations like that as much as possible! I am looking forward to the journey very much though! I appreciate the support a lot and I hope you and your family have a blessed and Merry Christmas!
