- This is my first week of driving for Roehl(alone in my own truck). I experience a lot of different situations in just the first week, which ended up being just Wednesday-Friday for me where I started later. I am definitely enjoying the trucking journey so far and look forward to getting experience over the course of my first year! Be safe and God bless!

Like the videos. Very detailed like the honesty. Keep on the diet and stay scriptured up my friend. One driver to another. Keep them videos coming. Also keep the scriptures/verse placed in there I enjoyed them. Thumbs up....
Thank you so much for the kind comment my friend 🙏 I enjoy sharing the scriptures! I know how true and how helpful they are for everyone that receives them. God has sue been good to me and my family and I’m thankful for it. Thank you again and be safe Trucker. God bless
Easiest way I teach my students when I train about trip planning is Keep it simple. Point A( where you start) to point B ( where you take your 30). Now your 30 location has becomes point A. While parked plan point A to point be ( where you're going to shutdown). I strongly suggest you have 3 point Bs one before your main shutdown point in case you don't have enough time to get there and one past your main in case that one is full.
Sounds like great advice and I appreciate it a lot 🙏 I’m definitely open to good advice in this. I had to have multiple locations to shut down at during my solo loads with my trainer as well. Preplanning is definitely important and I need to do better with it!
@@bluegrassoutdoors do you have an Instagram or Facebook
0:00-0330 is when I like to run. No traffic, most scales are closed, you don't have to fight with parking or showers
Interesting! That makes sense for sure. I may give that schedule a try some time. Thank you for the advice 🙏 I’m all open for good advice with this!
Looks like you’re doing great 👍🏻
Thank you very much my friend 🙏 that’s a great encouragement coming from an experienced trucker like yourself. I appreciate that!
Thanks I have about 4 1/2 years experience in driving the last 2 1/2 yrs I had to step away due to my dad getting real sick he better now so I’m coming back to trucking so if you are on n the krafts dedicated I see you on the road
Bet that was a special feeling pulling up at home in that big beautiful truck!
It was a very unique experience indeed, Brett! Around a 2 month build up to that point and when I got to my county my heart started beating faster. It was great pulling in my driveway and seeing my family looking out the screen door 🙏 it’s great to hear from you my friend and I hope you have had a blessed year and continue to
Great to hear all this info as i am hoping to join Roehl once i pass my test as well! Stay safe out there man! Appreciate the vids!
hey brother just remember these first few months are a kind of Bootcamp; you're getting all these experiences, some of them through frustration or difficulty. Keep learning!!
we admire you getting after it.
Yes indeed, Jacob! I’ve made mistakes but they have all been learning experiences as well. I love the work itself so far and getting to see the United States. I’m hoping to get Bimbo soon so I’ll have some company 😆
@@bluegrassoutdoors no hurry. More and more experience might be best before bringing a dog along anyhow. 🦮😀
You should get a small single cup keurig coffee machine so you don’t have to go in to the truck stop to get coffee. Just a thought. Stay safe buddy. Enjoy your home time.
Great idea! I definitely plan to do that. I love coffee and green tea and I use my keurig at home to make both. I definitely want to get a smaller one for the truck!
Good luck Driver. Make sure you take your time doing yard moves.
So far I'm getting around $1000. I'm only just recently getting g what I would consider good full weeks. I think you average around 70,000 your first year with roehl
Thank you very much Kendrick! 🙏
Hi my name is Kenny you are an inspiration I have my permit and I'm looking at roehl trucking
If you get close on time again, or totally run out (as I did once) pull over and call your Fleet Manager and explain the situation.
They will give you "personal conveyance" to get to the next safest place to park. If the next place doesn't work, call again and they will give it to you again. Your Fleet Manager will explain it to you. Call and ask. Good video, take care and be safe!
Thank you very much, Paul! 🙏 I appreciate that a lot my friend!
Congrats on your truck !
Thank you very much 🙏 it has been a process but a very rewarding one! I appreciate your kind words a lot!
also just want to encourage you by saying that after a couple weeks of driving that many hours in a row and acclimating to your diet I think you'll find that you're less exhausted and more adjusted to things.
You are very right Jacob! I am loving it so far. I’m at home now and I’m not dreading going to work. I actually really enjoy it! I think the diet will help too. I’m gonna do low carb. I think that’s why I quit carnivore so fast. I got so sick of the taste of just meat 😆 but greens, meat, and low carb wraps, etc are all things I see myself doing long term. It’s always good to hear from you. Maybe one day I’ll see you behind the wheel of a truck as well!
@@bluegrassoutdoors yes sir I got the medical exam and I'm still studying. also still waiting for your six month review there before I officially choose Rhoel. :)
will keep talking to God
about.
I will say I'm already frustrated about having to wander around those shipping yards and find the right entrance and find the right dock and all of that
That’s funny, I drove for Dot Foods out of Mt Sterling, Illinois.👍
Seems like a great company. Im looking for somewhere to start i got my CDL a month ago
great content bro
Thank you very much my friend 🙏 I appreciate that a lot!
I will say the time I spent there which The food was good they feed you well. And those washers are brand new they were put in When I was there.
Would they allow you to reapply?
If you wanted to, I mean.
@@bluegrassoutdoors I don't know don't think so. Bad living situation back at home that caused this problem for me. Leave me when I found out. I had no idea. A week away from testing couldn't hit at the worst time.
@bluegrassoutdoors Anna had a pretty good trainer everything was good Till the phone call.
Hey , I appreciate the video. You seem to have a good attitude towards making it work out. Going to start with Roehl soon, wish me luck. I hate to be that guy but Versailles is pronounced like "Ver-sigh". Best of luck brother
Get work gloves to use when fuleing
Very true! It’s not fun having it on your hands while you drive hundreds of miles 😆
👌
Hell Peter 👋
I know their trucks now are all automatics, but do they train with manuals? Or is it only autos?
I have a phone interview with Roehl next week. We shall see.
hello, I didn't think I would see videos with trucks on your channel, I really liked the videos where you show us how to break wood with an ax❤❤🪓🪓
Hello Adrian! I plan to do many more firewood videos as well 👍 I’d like to try to do one a week once I get settled into trucking a little more. I miss it a lot right now! Thank you for all of your kind and supportive words my friend and I wish you the best with your channel as well 🙏
@@bluegrassoutdoors congratulations you have become a truck driver now👏👏
Thank you very much my friend 🙏
@@bluegrassoutdoors can you fix my comment first, it would help me raise my channel too
Just stumbled across your stuff. I'm going through the process with Roehl right now to attend the CDL classes. Did you already have your CDL? I'm in Louisville and wondering where I'd go for the training course.
I start with Roehl this Monday February 19 at the Gary terminal I’m on the Krafts dedicated account Midwest are you on that?
I wish you the best with it my friend! I believe it will be worth it if you work hard and get through it all 👍 I’m not sure what that is to be honest. I’m regional and I live in Kentucky.
Do you get to drive your tractor home or you have to leave it at the closest terminal?
I drive home every week. From what they told me, you have to have a place to park the trailer within 3 miles of your home to be able to do that.
how much a week? im thinking of getting my cdl with them.
Chief did u get ya lic through this company paid training
Yes indeed
Is your fridge broken or they didn't provide you with one?
I thought Roehl trucks had refrigerators. He did a truck tour and there wasn’t one in there. I’m glad he showed that because I’m going to Roehl in April so I just ordered one off Amazon lol.
They don’t provide anything except the locks, spare fuses, logs, etc. I definitely plan to get one though and someone reach out on here saying they had one 👍 definitely something that I want for sure!
