  • Tesla Model Y vs Skoda ENYAQ iV POV test drive comparison. No talking, just driving and showing the car. I have driven both the Tesla Model Y and the Skoda ENYAQ iV 80 and In this video I made a comparison based on a POV walkaround around the 2 cars to see the exterior looks. You can also see a POV drive comparison between the Tesla Model Y Long Range and the Skoda Enyaq iv 80 to see the differences: accelerations, city driving, ride comfort (bumpy road test), driving at night to see the lights, driving on country roads.     Skoda is clear winner for me. Acceleration is fun but at the end of the day, quality of life practicality goes to Skoda

    In the market for an EV car for my growing family: strongly considering putting in an offer for a Skoda Enyaq iV80. It does not look as sexy as the Tesla, but that is the only disadvantage. Otherwise it's much cheaper (€15.000 cheaper), readily available (have to wait 5+ months for a Tesla), family-friendly, lots of interior spaces for storage, Apple Carplay (so i dont have to pay for a freaking subscription to get traffic on my car screen and give Tesla the right to control the software on MY car). BUTTONS!!! No touchscreen to rule it all. Options (hate artificial leather seats), much wider range of Skoda dealerships and equivalent battery guarantee, degradation and equivalent range. Last, but not least, easier to exchange the vehicle 3 or 5 years down the line, as part of the Skoda Plus packages. And no headache with updating subscriptions and crap like that. I think Skoda appeals most for people like me: young families, could not care less about autopilot, 30min for 20-80% charging is fast enough for me (will charge it at home anyway), acceleration under 10s is good enough for me, need Carplay and got sick of paying subscription for everything (Netflix, Spotify, news, and nor car even?!?! If i choose a Tesla) Plus, no

      I chose 80X with Matrix led, Crystal face mask, tow bar and as velvet red. And there was more than enough stuff as standard.

    I haven't driven the the Y but did the Model 3. Prefer the Enjoy suited our need far better didn't need made acceleration comfort getting in & out & space. Ordered the Enjoy 80X. Waiting for a delivery date though.

    Which one is more comfortable on the bumpy road? The enyaq with sport suspension or the model y?

      The Skoda offers more choices. You can put it in sport or comfort mode. The Tesla doesn’t have that and the suspension is more adjusted to the stiffer side

      @@JohanDeHaes is the Skoda more comfortable than the tesla in the normal mode? Dcc which allows you to set it to comfort mode is a quite expensive extra, would be nice to know if the normal mode is good enough.

    The tesla and the enyak are excellent cars but the skoda is a much higher car and that's the one of the main reasons I like it better.

      Tesla have focused too much on cutting edge technology and not enough on good automotive design. Hence all the problems they that everyone solved many years ago.

      Enyaq for me! Bigger, nicer, cheaper, still very good engine (taking in account the weight, yes, you have to sacrifice the top speed). Thanks for the video, nice to compare them in equal situations.

      I don’t get why people would buy Enyaq over Tesla MY besides that Enyaq is cheaper in price. Enyaq looks and performs like a cheaper car.

    Based on this, Skoda. But still unsure about the advantge of the super charging network by Tesla. And also the continuous UI improvement from Tesla. I doubt conventional car maker will spend a lot of time thinking what to upgrade on the UI. Just think how pushing out new models :(

      I didn’t get a spec sheet, but I looked in the configurator and the Sportline model in this video is in brilliant silver. Congrats on ordering the new car. When will it be delivered? I allready asked Skoda about the Enyaq Coupé, but it seemed that their press car would not arrive soon. Maybe more towards the end of this year.

    Model Y is too late for Europe. Two years ago, it would not have had a lot of competitors. But in the meantime, there are so many good alternatives around, Enyaq being one of them. Living in Germany, I'd like to have the top speed of a Model Y but for most other categories, I'd prefer the Enyaq.

      Id have 2012-2013 tesla over 2022 enyaq. I agree skoda is good on some little things, but Y is better in almost every way - boot space, motor, acceleration (theres no comparison), livelyness, tech, autopilot, infotainment, infotainment screen size, seats, batterytech and every other tech, safety, soundsystem (though enyaq has a good one), panoramic roof, only ground clearance is littlebit better on enyaq (if you dont get the sportsline), can you name things that are better on the enyaq? because im struggling.

      the biggest thing is the motor, model y just walks away - enyaq is lazy, lag on the acceleration, and also lagging on the brakes - you would want immediate acceleration and braking when you hit the pedal, not later.

      ​@@siitan83 It's not a sports car. Most normal customers don't care at all if it takes 5 or 9 seconds 0-60. And braking distance 60-0 is more or less the same. Design is a matter of taste but in my opinion, the Enyaq looks way better. But it's biggest advantage is that it starts for 20.000 euros less (at least here in Germany). Sure, that's the 50 kWh entry model, but you have the choice if you don't need that extra range. And even the 80 kWh Enyaq is 10.000 euros cheaper. Speaking about additional feature - FSD costs 7.500 extra and does not really offer that much more than Enyaqs driver assist package for 1050 euros. For Enyaq, you can get features that Tesla does not offer like a HUD or massage seats. These are just some random examples why Model Y will not get that HUGE market share some people are expecting. Fore some, Model Y will be exactly what they want or need. But for many others, other manufacturers offer better choices. Skoda is only one of them.

    Modell model y I like the motor, got allot of gimmick, but still a more expancive echo system.
    I tried the enyaq, and it feels more like a robust car with better comfort and not as stiff as Tesla. The teams didn't didn't have heads-up. I'm not sure just which to choose from

      @@JohanDeHaes because many people say and show the poor quality of Tesla in the videos and I was a witness myself when I was driving the Tesla Model 3 and it was very clear that uneven slots on the trunk lid at the back

    Tesla win performance
    Enyaq is more silent and with better chassy
    and what comes for looks is irrelevant because neither can't please everyone

    I have been thinking which one to choose. Tesla is more expensive, smaller, but still great room for driver and passengers plus great size of boot, with lovely range and pretty lovely charge speed and even better charger locations which the number of them is increasing rapidly. Plus the tech has no competitions with lots of upgrades which makes your car more and more valuable. But the price...
    Skoda made first fully EVcar pretty well. Lovely look, pretty simply clever staff in interior, great quality, cool range, great room for passengers and boot size is unbelievable. If only Enyaq is a bit cheaper, than yeah, winner for me. But if you add heat pump, higher level of interior, than you get pretty close to Tesla Y price.
    Also Tesla batteries allows you charging to 100% now, which makes your range even better and pretty important is that you make 250 000km with Tesla until you reach 80% of battery kWh value whereas with skoda you only reach 150 000km.
    Well..... I have no idea what to buy. I like simply both.
    But I believe Tesla company is gonna be more successful in the future. Talking about future...
    Tesla cars are gonna allow you use your car as robo taxi.

      Just to correct you, only LFP batteries can be charged to 100% constantly. Those ARE NOT installed in the model y.
      Model y has the NCA batteries whichbshould bebused in the 90-20% range

      it's about the value, not about the figure but kind of agree, yeah. Next to Tesla, Skoda in my opinion offers much more for the price.

    Skoda wins it for me (just ordered one). There's also a price difference, you can top spec the Enyaq and still come out cheaper - the Tesla with options is more than 10.000 euros more. That's a lot for better acceleration and topspeed. Also, I don't find the design of any Tesla appealing (It's OK but...that steering wheel is ugly and looks cheap, and cabin quaility is mediocre)

      The difference in my country is 20000 euros more for the model Y vs enyaq sportline 80x (=AWD) so I definitely agree. I also ordered the Skoda. Hard to see why anyone would go for the model Y, even the audi Q4 e-tron ended up cheaper with similar options. I also agree for the exterior and interior design.

      "options" you mean the auto pilot? Everything else comes as standard. Skoda on the other hand has a load of options and if you add some it can quickly catch up to Tesla price level.

      @@pedrogoncalves9357 yeah but 'everything else' is not everything, so hard to compare 1:1. For me things like real leather, Matrix LED lights and HUD display was important, and they are not options on a Tesla.

      @@claustrier Pretty sure Skoda is only using faux leather in the Enyaq... just like Tesla. Model Y also comes with Matrix LEDs as standard. Also, Tesla's super charger network is unrivaled. And let's not forget charging speed. Model Y LR goes to 250 kW as opposed to VW MEB platform's limit at 150 kW. These are very large differences which add to convenience. Also, long term software support OTA with improvements.

      @@AbdelOO7 Charging time doesn't matter much if you need to charge during long trip usually it means you would eat something while it charges. So kinda same does it charge in 15 min or 30 min because ordering a food and eating it will take longer.

    Design and build quality is far better of the Enyaq. The only advantage of the Model Y over the Enyaq are acceleration and max speed. But come on, who pays at least 10k more for an ugly and smaller car just to win the traffic light contests? That is fun in the first couple of weeks only. Moreover, the iV 60 is almost the same and has enough range fir most people. It costs less than 45k€.

      Model Y looks like someone added too much air into Model 3 and it over inflated.
