you give me hope Chrome, I'm 4 years from retirement and am going to get rid of everything and hit the road in a van and leave the madness behind.
You are growing and changing as we do as we get older. We find ourselves not needing the same things that we use to make us happy. I find as a get older and gone thru some pretty hard times I enjoy the simpler things in life. I also like being alone . Just in enjoy life don’t analyze it

Throw away the specs in the gas lid. Those are for the factory tires. Go by the rating on the tire sidewalls. It'll have "maximum weight at this air pressure". That's the pressure to go by. Don't get too carried away by the max weight at so much air pressure. Those specs are for rated highway speeds, not for slow back roads. Enjoyed the good again.
But always go back to the factory specs when filling the tires back up for the highway speeds. Having proper tire pressure at highway speeds greatly improves safety and handling.

I am actually in the middle of building my 72 Wesley camper van. I have it all, and always lived the normal life. I'm a big time outdoorsman and mountain biker that used to race on professional mountain bike team. Living in a van has always called my name. even though I have a six-figure job, I have all the toys I could ever think to have, next summer, I'm leaving it all. Just taking my dogs, my van and my mountain bikes and motorcross bike. I'm just not happy living in today's, day-to-day world. I'm happy with myself, but I'm not happy with the environment. if that makes any sense. I'm so grateful I ran across your videos. Thank you for being an inspiration to me and everyone else.

Great to see that you drop your tire pressure. With these tyres, you will make if far. The BFG AT ko2 are a beast offroad.
As an overland driver with a MB G 350 GD, never go under 14 PSI/1 Bar. So if you struggle, you can go to 14 PSI. If one wheel starts spinning, apply your brakes gently to distribute your power evenly if stuck. A cheap differential lock for emergencys.
When tightening your tire stems, never overtighten them, they normally get 0,45 NM of torque. Also, carry 2 spare tire stems and caps in case you lose some. Every tire shop has them. You will maybe thank me one day if you lose them and have spares.

I couldn't live in a van. My deal breaker is
1) I love my bathroom, taking shower whenever I want
2) having space to walk straight, to stretch and do a workout
But neverthless I absolutely love watching this channel. It's fascinating to see what can be done with such a tiny space.

I live on the outskirts of my hometown, right amongst the local nature reserve and reservoirs, my own piece of tranquility, city folk snd town folk can keep their chaos and keep my peace of mind
I started watching y our channel just a few short months ago. I was immediately drawn to your openness and your sharing of the day to day life of van life. I see that you are living the life because you love it, not as a means to an end of $$. I loved living in the city of Montreal during my 20'and 30's. Then I felt I needed more quiet and space, moved out to country, no regrets. As a nurse I still drove I to city for work but coming home always felt so good. Retired now and still loving the nature and space, with occasional visits to city. Enjoy your journey through life, wherever you go. Happy trails.

So glad you found the joys of the country. I left Vancouver over 50 years ago. I missed the night life and restaurants. It didn't take me long to learn to cook, hike, drive tge backroads. Now if I have to go to the coast, I dread it. Welcone hone Chrome and Cruz! It's a bigun.

I air down my jeep when i ride in the Desert here. It makes the ride more comfortable. I go down to 15PSI.

Chrome - the mountains and back country is the best! We're very lucky to live in this part of the country. We prefer zero cell reception. Nice to go off-grid for a few days and just get away.
I grew up a small boy on a farm. My teens and 20s were city. I keep going back to the farm to find myself. I spent more of my life in the grind than nature. I really need to stop ignoring my heart. It's nature that makes me happy.

FYI those tire pressures listed on your van relate to the stock tires that came on your van. Look up the pressures for the tires you have now.
