- Please come along as we travel to Kentucky for a trip on the famous bourbon trail and visit and tour distilleries such as Buffalo Trace, James Beam, Heaven Hill, Bardstown, Evan Williams, Makers Mark, Angels Envy and more. We also really enjoyed our night at Talbott Inn and the oldest bourbon bar in the world. Its a trip I will never forget and I hope you enjoy coming along ;)
I'm close to being an empty nester. This is something I've been thinking about doing. To be honest the Bardstown tour seems to be one of the most fun tours I've seen online. It reminds me of a small local farm distillery I visited once, just on a way larger scale. Way down to earth tour. I love it.
It was an amazing time , Bardstown was my favorite but to be fair it's the only tour I got to take, I would have liked to try a couple more for sure. I hope you get to go soon and when you do .. have a blast :)
Enjoyed your video. Just came back from a 2-day Bourbon Trail trip. 5 distilleries and my favorite, by far, was Bardstown Bourbon Co. We did the Rickhouse Barrel Thief tour, then spent time at the bar, trying a flight of their various blends. My favorite was the AMRUT Collab, which, unfortunately, is not available in greater Indianapolis. I definitely should have bought it while I was there!
@MesonicShelf I know there are a few I tried that I really liked on the trail but can't find back here in Indiana... oh well gives us a reason to go back right... lol
What a cool trip and glad you could take us along.
thank you
Thanks Bart for that really enjoyed the tour and the video.😜👍🇬🇧
Thank you Rod it was a fun time
thanks for the ride ! GREAT video Just a suggestion get a block cube instead of regular ice for your Old Fashioned ! it looks too good
Oh hell ya. I am going to have to watch over a couple of sittings but love it so far. Haha, six shots in, hang on!!!
Lol thanks Jerry, it's a long video I know :( it's tough to fit so many cool places into anything shorter, plus heck let's face it... im just long winded lol 😆 thank you for watching though ;)
Makers was a great experience for Mary and I when we went. Great video Bart!
Thank you, did you dip a bottle too ?
@@BartBerry Yup! Did you sign up to be an ambassador?! In a few years you can come back and dip a bottle from your own barrel!
@Kyle Jaracz what .... never heard of it... :( I missed that one :(
Great video and your audio was top shelf.
Thank you, it was alot of fun making this video
Hey Bart, really fantastic video.
Thank you, it was a fun trip ;)
Great video. We have been to the Bardstown tavern. Neat. Glad you enjoyed
It was very cool ... thx for the heads up on the place
We went on the tour and the guide told us
They are not on the field tour because the distillery has to pay to be a member of the tour , they used to be a member but didn’t need what the tour offers. There tours are the best we were just there 2 weeks ago .
Thank you for passing that info along, it is a great place to visit, I wish I could have gotten a tour.... next time I'll plan more in advance for sure ;)
Loved it! Very similar to the tour I took about 215 miles south in Lynchburg TN (Jack Daniels). Only I didn't partake of booze from the ceiling 🙂
Lol ya catching my bourbon dropped from above was a first for me too, but I had to try it lol 😆
This is a really awesome video! Glad you and your wife had a great time. This gives me incentive to plan a trip like that!
Thank you Alec, you should it was alot of fun ;)
I just tried that Bardstown fusion with the blue label. Big fan! I got hit with some big chocolate notes almost instantly. Definitely picking up a bottle soon!
I dont remember the price per bottle of that one but I'm sure you can't go wrong.
Man, that's rough. Sunday and Monday (and even Tuesday for some places) are not great days for the Bourbon trail. Glad you still had a good time. You can always count on Makers Mark and Buffalo Trace 7 days a week :)
we missed alot of places, but it was my fault for not planning ahead, but we sill had a great time ;)
Though it's unlikely that I'll ever be able to make the trip, what you did is special. Even without a plan, you did an awesome job.
Thank you, I think we did ok for not having a plan lol 😆
I live down on lake Cumberland Southeast Kentucky, do you guys know of anyone in this area who does training for paramotors, I would really appreciate the information, glad you enjoyed Kentucky
Very good information. We are flying on the 4th of July. Are the distillery/ shops open on Wednesday?
Thank you, I'm not sure what will be open, I would definitely check in advance. I hope you have a great time...
Really enjoyed your commentary. I was wondering where did you get the passport?
Thank you, I picked it up at the first stop , the visitors center downtown .
@@BartBerry thank you! Planning a trip soon.
We camp in Indiana quite a bit!
Where ya from?
Hi Chuck I'm located in Huntington...
@@BartBerry we are literally in Kentucky at the moment but didn’t get to do the bourbon trail 😔
Any good camp grounds out your way?
Thanks for responding so quick
My wife and I are big old fashioned fans as well!!
Larceny is awesome in an OF
@Chuck Petkunas well I can't say my little hometown has any exceptional scenery or camping spots, but there are a couple cozy places to stop and camp at... and your always welcome to shoot me a message if ya all do stop by .. I would be honored to share a sip of old fashioned with ya ;)
I hear they are not going to have stamps for the Field Guide anymore 😢
