    It's good to see these videos, because they are tools that we use every day and we see how easy it is to fix them

      He makes it look easy.Its skill based.But 90% of job is diagnostics,to find out what is bad.The rest CAN be easy.

      althoough this ne is unfixable to the average jooe because of the press-on sleeve. Impossible to do with just a bearring puller.

    Nice one! I have one just like it, probably 15 years old now. Not a fancy machine but for certain jobs it does them really well. Thin cutoff wheels in it are excellent for shortening tiny screws or studs I handle a lot (usually under 1.8 mm dia). With a small sanding drum they're great for deburring metal parts or fine wood carving. Drywall's a tough gig for any tool, I'd say the owner sent that one to you just in time. Cheers from Canada!

    Another professional repair that appears simple but only because it is based upon years of experience and knowledge. Quite amazing how much help is given in these videos. Thanks.

    Watching You fix that Dremel reminds me that a Dremel multitool was my first "powertool" Ive bought. Shes with me almost 12 years. She even tried to take out one of my eyes, when that cheap cutting disk bent, snapped and hit me 2cm off my right eye. For 12 years been taking safety serious.

    Thanks for filming in landscape mode. Users on mobile can rotate their phones, but people who watch on monitors or TV can't. Also or eyes are made to watch horizontally.

    Really a stupid shaft design by dremel. This is intentional just to force users to buy new one instead of easy repair.

    Nice one Dean top job as always - tried my hand at a tool repair today, she couldn’t be saved though, motor controller shat the bed & let the smoke out. Although trying to repair SMD’s seems easier than sourcing an Einhell part tbh 🙄🤣

    The Dremel rotary tool corporation was invented in 1932 by Albert AJ Dremel. It was originally manufactured and was seen Wisconsin by Emerson electric in the 1970s and 80s and 1990s. They went over to none other than Robert Bosch so they’ve gone up a very typical issue of the rotary tool when used for drywall wood carving is not as bad on them except for the front bearing gets really really loose and tends to have issues

    They've got you by the short ones with that cable. You couldn't drill out the old one and reuse the grommet, because there's no cable clamp except the grommet. You'd be doing well to remove the old cable clean enough to glue in a new one reliably.

    It’s great to see some of the smaller, consumer power tools being fixed - in addition to the large industrial kit.
    Could you do a workshop tour - showing us the tools of your trade - for example your pneumatic press - what rating is it?
    Cheers,
    I’ll see you on the next one 🔧👍

    Interesting, that attachment is actually for using the Dremel to remove grout between tiles, didn't know they would use it for drywall.

      That is the Dremel Drywall/Tile Cutting 566 attachment. There is also a 565 attachment with smaller window. The bit makes the difference for drywall (spiral cutter). The grout model 568-01 is at an angle.

    I pried the plastic covers off the bearings that are in my Chinese mag drill so I could grease them , first thing I noticed was there wasn't very much grease in them , a Vaseline grade light grease , the second thing I noticed was about half the ball bearings were missing , a bigger cage filled the areas where the balls would normally be. Programmed obsolescence, I guess they don't want a satisfied customer, they want a loyal customer instead.

    I need to know, how does the cost of this repair compare to the cost of a new unit, It cannot be economically viable,

    • @Drottninggatan2017
      @Drottninggatan2017 4 місяці тому +1

      I think it can in this case. Even if it only breaks even on the cost you will get a better bearing than in a new one.

    • @zaxmaxlax
      @zaxmaxlax 4 місяці тому +1

      What is not viable is using that dremel for that daily job. The tool is clearly not meant for this kind of abuse. Keep in mind tools in europe are more expensive and the labor cost is lower. This repair probably costed 30eur max and a new tool probably 150 with the attachment.

      He works for a company that sells tools and repairs them too in Donegal. Not his own store I believe but he obviously has a reputation in that neck of the woods for looking after customers pre and post warranty expiry.
