Dumbledore said that Happiness can be found in the darkest of times if one only remembers to turn on the light. And I think music too, can be found in the unlikeliest places and times, if one only remembers to look for it! Love this delightful episode to pieces.

Can words convey how special this episode is? As a Carnatic music student, the level of relatability went beyond the horizon of my joy! The jokes my cousin and I crack about music sometimes like,
    "Which is the poorest raga?"
    - Mohana, as it doesn't have MaNi (money)!
( Jokes apart, mohana's richness is not measurable!)
From figuring out the shruthi of the cooker whistle, to reciting konakkol matching the pace of the beeps produced by a malfunctioning speaker, I keep getting teased about it and today I sat, grinning throughout the episode!
Another part of the video that is extremely close to my heart and will always be, is the memory association. Being greatly interested in music's cognitive power, I also do small-scale researches and surveys on "Sangeetha Chikithsa". How music, or a song can be associated to the most random of memories and how it can help cure mental disorders. And what better genre than Carnatic classical music with it's complex, yet charming organisation with so much attention to details and aesthetics?
So here I am, sitting in my house, being haunted by yesterday's kambodhi, thodi, rageshri and revathi, and today's sriranjani!
One thing's for sure, anyone who hears you, is sure to fall into the depths of your music and can be found boating in the seas of Ananda!

This is lesson to youngsters. If you want to reach the goal in any form of art or other you have to live with it , travel with it and enjoy the same. Thank you for sharing a new face of learning to the upcoming generation. Thoroughly enjoyed the session with hearing a pleasant Krithi and a story. Thank you so much.

Ranjani and Gayatri Akka I could relate to you and I am also a carnatic music student learning from malladi suribabu(father of malladi brothers)student. Could relate to many of your jokes shared. And I also feel the same that if you want to achieve something in any field you have to live and enjoy it. Right now I am living and enjoying the carnatic music. What a magnificent kambodhi. I also crack such jokes and me and my cousin(Rakshita Ramesh)a B grade Veena artist use to play carnatic antakshari where we sing songs ending with the last letter. Through this and such games music has been fun for me and I enjoy and learn many things. An ardent fan akka

Thanks for such a fun filled episode.
Again, amidst all the jokes and laughter was something profound - Learning happens through the most remotest of things. And a continuous process. How I wish the children of this generation took some cues from this episode. Only if they could emulate even a fraction of the simplicity and humility that both of you have grown with. Be it walking to the class, rides on the bus or on trains. No frills, no fancy gadgets, no exotic holidays, no big party bashes. But a life of continuous happy learning and absorbing. Most importantly, childhood memories keep the inner child alive. No matter how old one gets, there is always a child within each one of us. And that came out today in ample measure.
I read somewhere, People who have fond memories of childhood, specifically their relationships with their parents, tend to have better health, less depression and fewer chronic illnesses as older adults.
Your Father’s contribution in your star status has been immeasurable and phenomenal. But on the flip side, he had two doting daughters who were willingly doing all that he said. So that was a rare Win-Win!
    In essence,
    “There in every memory
    See his love and care
Strength and hands to count on
    Freely he does share
    Provider, toil so faithfully
To make our dreams come true
    Give strong and tender discipline
Though it is hard to do
A Father is God’s chosen one
    To lead the family
And to point it to His will for life
    Of love and harmony”
God bless you both! You will soar to reach greater heights.

These sessions are very good. It helps us know the little things done in the past that helped build the RaGa sisters as we know today. It is also clear...RaGa sisters centered around music and music centered around RaGa sisters. Very enlightening sessions

“How novel the idea of Sriranjani Swara season sung at Raghupate,Ninuvina....” That was my reaction when my children’s guru SmtPappu Padma Ravi shankar Garu had taught and made them sing for a concert back in97. I used to take my children to the classes and Padma Garu was generous to let me sit initially and later insisting me to learn a little that I could. Hence I can connect with your candid episodes. Thank you for bringing back our memories too. Always looking forward for your episodes.

Monday mornings are the most awaited part of the week!! You are my role model ma'am. So happy that you share everything with us. I have no words to express how much happiness your music gives me. The connection you have with your audience is immense. I always end up in tears whenever I come to your concerts or listen to your music. Thank you so much.
Just a small request, can you make a video for a few ragas and their highlighted swarams, how to start singing an aalapana and this basic training...I know so many people including myself, who try aalapanam but don't know how to end it or go with it.
    Thank you

Thank you for sharing the wonderful dimension of connecting happenings around us with music. Also, a lovely rendition of Brochevarevare. When I visit a relative's home, friend's house, out of station stays etc. , the thought of how musically fit the place would be to play violin always creeps in.. also trying to reproduce the sounds coming from the kitchen, the gates etc.

I always enjoy the vocal chords echoing the beauty of a Kriti or a Raaga San percussion score or an accompanying instrument, but just the mild Sound of Thamboora Supporting them. Recently, I happened to listen to, experience & enjoy a few such beauties from a few artists in the U.T. This Sweet Sri Ranjani Krithi gently flowing from your vocal chords joins that elite band creating a "Feel Good' mood within me this Week Beginning and made it a Lovely Morning Today. ThanQ very much. We look forward to such spellbound spells from U every week. I maybe greedy, so too, other music enthusiasts like me. Hope, U will oblige our Requests as frequently as possible, if not every week. Seeing this week's Ra Ga Candid Poster showing one of U holding the bowing instrument, we thought, U R going to enthrall as with a Violin Duet. Hope, that too will happen soon. Thanx.

Ah this episode is a lauded one of all ! Extremely beautiful one . And when you both start off in an impromptu with a sing , it sounds the best . Honestly I can listen to you two talking all day . What beautiful smiles you possess! The childhood stories and memories of yours are gem amongst the episode . What a beautiful childhood you had !! I can only imagine two little cuties walking and holding each other's hands . Aww !!! So cute . You two might have been the cutest toddlers out there . And this episode is delightful as always and love to pieces . Those anecdotes are brilliant . Why ! gayatri mam used o believe in those mysterious stories that the elder friend of hers ould have told , needless to say , it's now me believing so badly in her mysterious music that she carves and brings forth like a magician . Love you so much Gayatri aunty and Ranjani aunty . 😍💗💗💗💗💗

Going through this episode, (it has been my favorite so far), shows how you are what you are today.. Looking at all the ways you had fun with music, I can definitely say you were swimming in the ocean of music throughout your life. I guess you barely ever came to the shore. No wonder how natural you are doing what you do now..pulling us all into the ocean of music as well. ❤❤❤
A personal question.. Do you think your kids have the same fun now as well? Or they have different interests and different perception of fun?
This I'm asking to understand my own self. I was brought up with a lot of spiritual stories and saints and having Darshan of Mahants etc.. Which I'm not able to give my kids. I feel guilty sometimes but they don't seem to enjoy what I enjoy anyway. So maybe I'm just a stuck soul, lol.

Please dedicate few minutes every episode to sing key phrases in your own inimitable style ... may be upto 20 ragas one after other for raga identification. Dont name the ragas but we will do the guessing n update the comments box. You can mix it with known n rare ragas so that we learn new ones.

I always love listening to your songs in the morning, and naturally due to morning rush, I do stupid things like pouring water on floor going with the tune of your song!

A very good rendition..I would just like to bring into your notice that a few words in the keerthana were misspelt..the third charanam goes like 'vaalinokka kolanesi ravi baaluni raajuni gaavinchi juchi'(not kolalesi, not rajugaga, 'raajunigaavinchi' is a single word) and the last charanam starts with 'Bhavaabdhi tarunopayamu' (not taranopayamu)..A good rendition though!loved it!
