    Session view is great for coming up with ideas. Make sure you get those ideas into arrangement view quickly so you don't get stuck in the loop.

    I wish that when you record to arranger view, it would carry over the names of the scenes in the form of markers automatically. So I can get a sense for intro, verse etc.

    Session view is fun but you can’t drop in little samples to play at exact places, e.g. play some audio on the 5th of an 8 bar loop. You can but you’d have to fiddle with loop markers and listen thru. This is why arrangement view is still best for composing in my view.

    • @garbageland1
      @garbageland1 Рік тому

      Could with a simpler for example. But I agree I tend to go straight for the arrange view

    • @Tapepusher
      @Tapepusher Рік тому

      Right, you could put a MIDI note far along on the 5th bar (or w/e/) and then hold shift and select all clips in the session view so that it links all their transport. (This works with MIDI clips anyway, I think audio too)@@garbageland1

      Hi there. Thanks for reaching out. Click on the clip to display it in the clip view at the bottom of the screen. Then you can drag and drop the clip loop end marker, the small left-facing triangle at the top of the clip view, to change where the clip's playback will end. Thanks for your swift response. Shall check that.
      Haven't yet fully understood Ableton clip behaviour. My doubt about Session view isn't resolved yet.
      Suppose my Midi track 1 has 4 clips one below the other say C1, C2, C3 and C4.
      My Midi track 2 has 3 more clips say C5, C6 and C7.
      How do I control the sequence of their playback? I mean if I want to play them in the order C6-C1-C3-C2-C5-C7-C4 how to achieve that? Let me first understand the Session view. May move to Arrangement view after that.
      I hold a Intro 10 license for 3 years now and overall very happy about Ableton. 😀
      Thanks in advance from Pune city, India.

    Is there a way to tell ableton to sequentially play each scene for a specific amount of bars automatically?

    • @Ableton
      @Ableton  2 роки тому

      Hi there. There isn't a way to do that using the default Live settings and devices. However, there is likely a way to set something like that up using a Max for Live device or even some kind of user script. For help with that type of in-depth work, we recommend getting in touch with a certified Ableton trainer. www.ableton.com/en/certified-training/?NTcyNDkzMg%3D%3D&
