  • Thank you for watching this video! I hope you got some inspiration. If you want to see more of me, my Instagram is ..., and my Ravelry is www.ravelry.co...
Question of the week: what do you do with your gauge swatches after the project is done?
The pattern I used for my swatch bag is The Swatch Bag by Skaberglæde Maria www.ravelry.co...

Not only a picture of your projects, but also a visual reminder of how awesome and thorough you are, actually taking the time to swatch your knitting each time. I hadn’t seen anyone else’s video on this concept, so just goes to show with content that it’ll always be new to someone ❤.
Further thoughts I had, while sitting here making plarn and watching today’s video:
    - Yay for Mum sewing. Gotta love a family project.
    - I also have rediscovered an appreciation for the zen of seaming knits. My new favourite method of knitting drop sleeve sweaters is top-down flat; the sleeves are picked up but also knit flat, so there’s just two long seams from each sleeve cuff to the corresponding hem. I got sick of the difference in gauge between my flat knitting and circular, so this way everything is done flat.
    - Lastly, I don’t think you finished your thought on the one reason you don’t like steam-blocking; you were interrupted by kitty. I’ve never tried steam-blocking so would be interested to know. 😃

Thank you for watching and such a thoughtful comment! You’re right- it’s not only a picture of past projects but this is also a family project. I’ve seen others also seam their drop shoulder projects! I may try that one day. And I don’t remember what I was going to say about steam blocking before my cat cut me off! I imagine I was going to say that it isn’t as effective as wet blocking so I prefer to wet block when I have the time.

Your colour choices are just too cute. Loved your bag more than the original pictures from the pattern page. I am a long time crocheter learning to knit. This would be such a cute project to make from all the practice granny squares I have saved from my beginner days. Looking forward to collecting swatches from future knitting projects too. Thank you for sharing the idea

Soooo cute! I love that you're so on brand with your colour scheme that all the swatches work perfectly together! I especially love the colourwork patch! It was so cute to see mumma handmakes helping as well! I hate sewing so seek help where you can get it! I cant wait to see what other scrappy projects you plan to make 💕

Thank you, Ash! I really want to see a swatch bag from you- I feel like it would similarly go really well together with your color scheme. And I also hate sewing and was so grateful for the help 😂 definitely have a lot more scrappy projects in my future!
