Just assembled this stand last night. If I had watched your video first, it would have cut my assembly time and frustration in half. Lesson learned. Thanks for posting this!
Excellent video. I have read numerous comments (elsewhere) indicating difficulty trying to collapse this stand. Needless to say I was curious to see if you would experience said difficulty. Your stand collapsed with no such problem....glad to see that. Your instructions were clear, concise and greatly appreciated. Thanks for the video. I have decided to make the purchase.
If you set it up AND IT WONT CLOSE SWAP THE 2 CABLE POSITIONS ON THE TRIGGER!!! It has more throw on the top position which needs to go to the spring to bring the slide back for release to be able to lower it. I just got it and assembled yesterday out of box brand new and it had this issue. Works perfectly now
Just put mine together thank you for posting this video i would have had a hard time of it without your help. I bought the same miter saw you have but it has not been delivered yet. So i out everything together and just waiting to mount my miter saw thanks! Awesome job!

I purchased two of these. One for the U.S. and the other in Toronto. Thank God I bought the one in Canada for only $100 at Lowe’s because it was a floor model. Now, the inflation is insane!!! Tools are almost double!!!
Thank you for this great video. I followed along with the written instructions and watched your video. It made the experience of setting up my new saw and stand pretty trouble free.
Thank you for this excellent video. The instructions that came with the saw and the stand were not very clear - I got the stand assembled, but wasn't sure how to attach the saw to the stand. Your video was very useful for that. Keep up the great work!!
Wow!! Thank you for an outstanding video. I am going to be watching lots of your videos. I just upgraded my miter saw to a Dewalt similar to yours and was looking for a stand for it.
Thanks for the video, didn't have to look at the directions once..... I still almost screwed the small screw from the other side....lol. Thanks again from Minnesota..😎
I am so happy I found your video. I was hesitant to purchase because I thought it might be too difficult for me to put together but you have made it look quite easy. Thanks again, Barbara.
This is a fantastic video - really helped me out. Your instructions and helpful hints all came good. Awesome stuff, you rock!!! Shame on anyone who dislike this..
Your video is excellent and simple to follow. Thanks for your effort. I have two suggestions, only because I had to fix my first attempts. 1. The fixed supports on the 779 should be on opposite sides of the saw. The longer edge should be facing the user. No wood will be behind the fence. 2. I have a 779 saw as well. The saw needs to be mounted on the 726 so that the extension support bars are toward the user as well. The Dewalt instructions illustration shows opposite and does not make sense. Again no wood will be behind the fence. You will see the supports work much better in this direction.
Agreed! I built some extension tables for my setup and realized it then that it would make more sense for things to be flipped around. Thanks for your comment!
Did you end up flipping the saw 180 on the stand? It doesn't line up well with the outrigger supports as specified in the instructions, and I found it easier rotated 180
Nice instruction video. However I have to say and I’m sure you figured it out by now, but you have the saw facing the wrong side of the stand the front of the stand says DeWALT the way you mounted it the extending roller arms are not usable the way they were intended. I know this because I followed your directions 😂.
just wondering if everyone that gots this stand the locking and up and down mechanism did it break???? do your stand still go up and down? after 2 years??? I got the tough built mine broke it sucked
Haha, maybe. I like having it this direction because it stacks into my trailer better and just the way my brain works. Either direction should be fine though.
You are correct, the saw is backwards. I also thought it odd that the front of the saw wouldn't face the decals. Pages 4,5,6 & 7 of the handbook show the saw installed the way the video shows. Once you mount the extension arms you notice they are on the wrong side of the saw. Took the 4 bolts out...again...and turned the saw around.
@@mattbrierley5363 I just built some wing extensions for it. In doing so I flipped the saw the other way around. It looks like the support arms give better support with the saw flipped opposite of what I had in the video.
My wife bought me one of these. Unfortunately the mounting brackets do not get far enough apart for the Ridgid saw that I have. I tilted it just a tad and was able to mount it with 2 screws instead of 4 placing them in the upper left and lower right corners. But you can understand my hesitancy in relying on this. I was wondering about any other options. I saw another video mention that you can actually mount the saw to a flat thick plywood, and then mount that to the stand. So I may try that unless you have another option? I thought about taking the table back but I wasn't sure if they'd take since it's all put together now.
I’ve seen guys mount it to a piece of 3/4” plywood like you’ve mentioned and had good success that way. I think that’s probably your best route right now.
Thanks for the video. Just put mine together a few days ago. Attached the saw today. Problem is it didn’t raise easily like yours did. My hubby and I struggled to raise it and now it won’t collapse at all. The locking mechanism under that black cover will not budge. I loathe the fact that I may have to return it after all that work putting it together. So frustrating. Do you know what the problem might be? At least I’ll have you to help me assemble another one if I have to do it over again.
Thank you! You can mount it either way. I just prefer the hydraulic control being on the right because, well, I just like it that way 😂 So, go ahead and mount it how you feel!
what are the mounting bolts called? I need to get some replacement ones. Ours won't come off or loosen at all; we'll have to cut them off and get replacement bolts.
Pretty sure they are called mounting bolts. You can take the pieces into a hardware store and match the diameter and thread spacing to be sure you get the right ones 👍
Nice job! One tip that has helped me with assembly efficiency is using a cutoff wheel or reciprocating saw to cutoff the Allen wrench to make it straight so you can use it in a low speed screwdriver setting in your drill.
Not bad. Just a little recommendation for the future. All the parts where you realized you did something wrong or could have done something easier, maybe edit that out and just start off with that.
So, my saw is on backwards and I can't get it to go down. Can I take the saw off while it is raised? I think people are saying to switch the cables too.
Does anyone here have a solution to collapsing it? It simply isn't budging. Im jealous of this video. Why won't mine do the same? I just assembled this today. Was excited to see it lift into position, then crestfallen when it would not collapse

@@berlinbuilds yes! I discovered that shortly after posting. So my issue is that the left side flap is not flipping out enough, and thus sets back into the slot. I like the DeWalt a lot better. The Rigid is still a solid setup, it’s just harder to set the stand up by yourself and store in the trailer than the DeWalt.

Good video but you mounter it backwards. The instructions are wrong. When you mount it the way that the instructions say the extensions are out of position. They are offset on the on the lift body, so only a small part of the extension is exposed to the wood when mounting it their way. If you flip the saw around you get more of the extension exposed, and that will give you more stability when cutting larger pieces. Hope that helps someone. It’s crazy because at first I was, oh he made a mistake, but after looking at the instructions I realized that’s how they say to do it. Good video regardless, thank you.
I was wondering about this too because I just assembled mine tonight. The way he has it is the way the instructions show but you’re right, it doesn’t line up correctly with the support arms.
When lowering from the top position pull up and squeeze the latch and it should drop to the next level. Then squeeze the trigger and push down to collapse the gas strutt. Should go down no problem. I also found the instructions have the saw backwards so the material rests are not usefull. I really question why not use the aluminum beam and clamps from the other stand so tools can be switched easily and material stops ad rollers used instead of two pieces of pipe. The adjustable stop is so flimsy it is no use. Needs to be thicker material and one each end. Knobs are poor quality and had to turn because the threads are bad. Overall all a good sturdy stand but the Chinese factory needs better qualty control. Perhaps it would be better built somewhere else. Instructions are poor so much so this video is required for most people. Thanks for doing a great job.
Unfortunately the lifting mechanism catch cable was out of adjustment and it would not lift , after a few curses I took the plastic cap off and adjusted it
Good video but he did two things wrong. The first was that he mounted his saw in the wrong direction. The reason being is that the holes where the extensions rods are inserted are set back (they are not centered from front to back). So, with the way he mounted the saw the t-bar that your material sits on will be too far back behind the fence. In short, if you're facing the saw as if you are operating it, the controls (the lever and handle to make it go up and down) should be on your left (the non wheel side of the stand). The other mistake he made was he installed the t-bar backwards. That little stop plate should be on the outside, not inside.

Yes I ended up switching mine around eventually when I built miter wings for the saw.

Thx
