I was seriously considering selling my dual bevel sliding 12" Dewalt (which I love) and getting something lighter...due to back issues. The rolling stand will be in my garage today...next to my rolling collapsible Dewalt job site table saw. Thank you!!!
Excellent summary for the rolling stand. The tension-release tip for the pneumatic lift is a must-see - not only makes it easier to operate, it prevents the closing problem some have experienced. You’ve obviously spent enough time with this stand to know how to operate it fluently.
Thanks for the review. I got a big old craftsman sliding miter saw and was worried about tipping over when set upright. Glad to see your large miter stand resting easily. This Dewalt stand will accept my craftsman offset mounting holes so it's the one I'm looking at. I don't want a mounting plate under it.
Good review. I own both of these miter saw stands as well as the larger DWX723 stand…all are excellent stands. I’d suggest buying either a pair of the 15” wide work supports w/material stops (DW7029) or a pair of the 15” roller versions (DW7027)…or a combination thereof, one of each. Solid made miter saw stands and optional wider material supports.
Super review. Actually you convinced me to buy a less complicated design. I sure didn't want to have to make adjustments on a device like on a bike brake cable etc. Anyway nice job.
Great explanation and advice about needing it wide to move the saw. I haven't bought one yet. I have been using my saw horses and a 3/4 piece of plywood as my work station. Not having to carry in a sheet of plywood can be advantageous on certain jobs.
You're a godsend and this is the best review I've found all day. Best part is you are the only one who compared both, which is perfect for me since I'm trying to decide between the two. Question for you? I can't remember if you mentioned the span of the stationary stand? I know you said 8 for the mobile stand, but I wasn't sure about the other. Would you say for someone like me who isn't going to be traveling with it, would you say the stationary is a better buy? Thanks!
Both stands have an 8' support span fully extended. I like having the rolling stand at home for the big saw. It makes the saw easy to move around the garage and stores it stood up and out of the way. The folding stand is more compact so I can put it and the large saw in the cab of my truck. But I mainly have the folding stand for my small saw.
@UC5uWnYudXmGlTlR45xrpHiw I see. Well, thank you so much again for the review. It was a huge help deciding on which to go with. The only thing I wish they has was adjustable leg heights for un even surfaces. I have 2 drains in my garage that make everything a pain cause the floor is so uneven. So I figured I would go with the folding, since it will be easier to level with something underneath the legs. Any suggestions on the best 12" blade to go with? Maybe a few for fine cuts and just cutting stock?
@@toolrev Yeah the diablo is what I seem to keep coming up with. Decided on the Freud 72T Sliding Miter Blade. Thanks again for all your advice and it was good talking to you. I'll be sure to check out more of your vids as I continue my studio remodel.
I always stood the stand up while it was laying flat on the ground, and found it pretty heavy. Did not know about being able to open it while the stand was in the dolly postion
Thank you for the review. I am getting ready to buy a new wheeled saw stand and your review helped me eliminate this stand due the the narrow wheel base. I have a delta miter saw stand that has a lot wider wheel base and am considering getting another one. It is real similar to the Rigid wheeled stand. Also considering the Bosch Gravity rise stand.
I had the Rigid but my Dewalt saw didn't fit so I got the Dewalt wheeled stand. I don't like it, too heavy, the mounting system is really dumb compared to the Rigid and Delta stands that have rails. I'd get the Rigid again if my saw fit it.
Absolutely. I cut right handed and would hold the 10' piece with my left hand to keep it from tipping. Vice versa for lefties. The stand would also work.
I have the rolling stand, the reviews all said it was heavy and I thought "pft, can't be that bad" but it's too damn heavy lol. I wanted the big wheels because most of the stands have tiny suit case wheels which are useless for anything except perfectly flat concrete. But the stand is bulky enough that it's easier just to carry the damn saw around which defeats the purpose.
Do you think it would be safe to store your saw on this stand long term? I have limited space so this would be helpful to store it in a corner of the garage
Great review I had my 779 attached to the rolling stand went to lower it and the handle snapped off, did you notice any play the handle when using it to lower maybe I shouldn't of used it to lower and raise the unit. Thanks
Ya, it has been loose in the past. I forgot to mention there is an onboard wrench to tighten the hex screws. The handle base on mine is held on by two screws.
Is there any risk to damage to the saw if you leave the saw attached to the rolling stand in a vertical position (so saw is sideway), and you leave it like that for months? Anyone hear story about saws having alignment problems after storing it in a vertical position for an extended period? Thanks.
@@harrydoherty8299 Hercules stand has worked excellent and held up nicely. Very strong quality and I like how it attaches to the miter saw and then clamps on to the stand. Beautiful - and I'm a little picky so I don't praise every product. All the setup is easy and solid as well nice rollers etc.
@@ralphhross I was looking at that stand, it legit looked better than most on the market but I got a deal on the Dewalt wheeled stand and I don't like it. The mounting system is archaic compared to most that mount the saw on rails now. And the stand is pretty heavy, and balanced weird so it's heavy to roll the saw around unless it's on concrete. If I get another one I think I'd get the Hercules.
How much does your saw weigh? Is it the 50-60 lb lb 60v one? I have a 780 corded 12" saw and it's like 55 lbs. I was worried about getting the folding one for the weight of my saw. But if yours works then mine should
Would it be ill advised to haul the 726 upright in my work trailer with the weight of the chop saw on it? Or should it be laid down like how you had it in the bed of your truck?
I would carry it upright in a trailer if that was easier. If you hang the saw correctly with everything slung low I don't see bumps being an issue. I think I remember a Concord Carpenter or maybe it's called ToolBox Buzz now doing a review on this stand and he showed it upright in his trailer, I think. Check out his channel and maybe he can tell you how it's worked out for him.
Great Video! I have 2 of these stands and love them! I also just uploaded a video on how to add a work surface to the rolling stand. Let me know what you think if you get a minute.
Good afternoon. My name is Stanislav. I am from Ukraine. I have the same saw. I have the same question. Please tell me if you had any problems with the adapter from the 110 V mains to this saw.
The stops on the folding stand are great. The stop on the rolling stand is kinda flimsy. But ya, it works as long as you’re not ramming boards against it too hard. Easy enough to make a thicker stop from scrap if you need it.
I have the rolling Dewalt stand. Unfortunately my Ridgid saw doesn't quite line up. The mounting holes are about an inch to deep to successfully mount all 4 screws. I have it on there with 2 screws catty-corner currently, but you can understand my reluctance to count on that holding up. It's quite a bit a weight we you turn it up on it's side. I'm thinking of mounting the saw to a pieces of plywood, then mounting to the stand. But I was wondering if there are any other options for this? I was pretty disappointed when the saw wouldn't fit my "universal" stand.
I don’t care for the rolling stand. The fall off on the extensions is annoying and I hate there’s no rollers on it like it use to have. I’m a bit bigger guy so I prefer carry the saw then carry the compact stand. So much easier for me and the extensions are much more sturdy I find.
i bought this just to move my 779 around my garage and to store the saw out of the way. I use it to do the random project and cut wood when Im bored and feel like engaging in a project. Considering I got it for $140 from a crackhead basically brand new you cant go wrong....who pays full price for this stuff...hahahaha

Do Mounting Bolts come w/ the stand-- if not, what kind of bolts secure a DWS715 to the compact folding Stand?
My rolling stand came with bolts and the folding stand came with brackets that also have bolts to attach to whatever.
good video thank you
Awsome tools I like it

Can u put the attachment brackets on the rolling stand
no
could you mount a festool mitre to either of these???
If it has mounting holes in the base then it should mount either.

How do you keep smaller pieces/off cuts from falling on the ground?
By adjusting the support arms in or out you can keep the off cuts from falling.

Are the wheels metal? Except for the tread or is it plastic.
Plastic with a metal hub.

Most likely yes, the table has adjustable cross bars to attach different saw sizes.
