• Gta 1 grand theft auto...
I remember playing vice city as a young child, buying the pole position property thinking it was a cool race track and being... surprised at what it really was
well it WAS actually named after a racing game from back then lol
I bought the pole position first knowing exactly what it was... was disappointed by the results.
Your parents are awful people for letting a young kid play gta 🤣
"Can be completed within 8 hours"
*looks at my old ps2 save*
Playtime over 200 hours :D
And can still be played 200 more
The mission list to actually get to the end of the game killing sonny is pretty short. Like you can skip the haitien missions Cubans bikers love fist etc and just do the vercetti missions and the assets and complete the main story
@@Scurge237 are you sure?
@@FriggOff361 It is true. After obtaining mansion you need: complete protection ring (Vercetti missions), Printworks asset and 5 other random assets. Then you'll get a call from Ken leading to Cap the Collectors and the final mission. You can skip rest
@@purple_1884 Wow, i hated the mexican cafe missions, and the hatian missions too. Ive beat that game every few years since it came out and never clued in

The music selection is amazing. Really affected my music taste to this day. Same with Vice City Stories
Ditto.
Finally someone mentions vcs
I liked Vice city because it's music the cars and the overall atmosphere where VCS the only way you could really tell it was the 80s was by the radio and the title.
@@mexican_geese7134 but what about VCS' atmosphere too tho
@@mexican_geese7134 Vice City Stories had a better 80's atmosphere than 2002 Vice City
Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, the bread and butter of the PS2 era.
"VERCETTI !!! REMEMBER THE NAME !!!"
M RO hell im still playing vice city to this day. Love this game
This is the best PS2 game along with San Andreas
No it’s REMBA TAH NAM
Oh boy, if it wasn't for this game, I wasn't going to be a gamer in the first place
Too true.
Arthur Brito I feel the same
Same!
Me too
This game turned me into a playing games sometimes into a "gamer"
One of the greatest games ever made. PERIOD!
Yeah, man. It's the best.
LCS Toni Cipriani avatar?
A man of culture, right here.
xlixity cause I like Toni. So?
+xlixity LCS has its own special sense of charm.
Matthew Cool My childhood game, alongside VCS. Good times
Tommy can crouch. It's useless, you cant move while crouching, but he can still do it.
If you crouch behind some cover like a low wall or a crate and equip a submachine gun, you can have Tommy shoot over the cover at the enemies. It has to be a reasonable-sized cover or else all he will be hitting will be the cover.
I always thought crouching increased accuracy.
@@roydevriess - It does.
@@BullworthGraduate - Your hitbox is smaller aswell, so yeah, crouching is somewhat useful.
Well in mobile? You can't lol
The game that instilled a certain 80's aesthetic to an entire generation. No wonder synthwave gained so much traction and 80's music itself is extremely popular. No wonder 80's visual style has made a comeback in recent years.
You can say the same for San Andreas and 90s music and style.
Exactly if it weren't for GTA : Vice City the 80's wouldn't have it's style and wouldn't exist!
Finally a person who thinks demolition man/the train mission is easy xd
Kimi Demolition man on PC is super easy for me :p probably cause I have played a lot of MTA and got some flight practice, so I can do them with ease xd
I played on PS4 and it was pretty easy 1st try.... IM ONLY 12!!!
The train mission was really easy
the demolition man mission was NOT easy
It definitely was, if you could fly a normal helicopter in the game, why can't you fly a small one? It has the exact same controls
Vice City is by far the most enjoyable game of the franchise. They should make 4K version.
Who cares? All the remastered versions are censored out the ass. Not worth it
You can play the game at 4k on PC
Walton Simons bruh vice city is already censored...
Yeah alot of songs have been removed and dialogue based on hatians (which is understandable however they overdid the censorness) has been removed it will not be authentic it's better to just play the og ps2 version
Man all I need is to be able to play it. It has all kinds of problems and while I fixed 1 thing in it another 2 appeared, now it got to the point where it crashes while loading in the map...
Gta 6 has to be back in vice city
Has to be 80s though
I’d like to see another gta game in las Ventura’s
What's interesting in modern Miami, nothing, bath salts and sewer floods
Mrsushi1011 yo hopefully it’ll be a more accurate representation of 80’s Miami I’m sure it will be
Journey awaits not true, there’s still immigration, political shit, gangs, and a little more. Although it’d be hard to cram it into a GTA game as well. Maybe they can do one in the 40’s to 50’s and have it switch between Miami and the keys or the Bahamas like rum running and stuff or even Havana with the Cuban mafia and stuff
You need way more views. I can see how many hours went into writing and editing this video. The quality of this video makes it seem that you're some 300k subscriber youtuber. I hope you get big eventually, don't give up!
edust LT Agreed!!!
Facts.
Yup
And the voicing cast was very good too. William Fichtner, Ray Liotta, Gary Busey did an outstanding job here. Other actors did well too.
Finally! Someone who doesn't think Demolition Man is hard. I always found that to be one of the easiest missions. I always have beat it on the first try.
Same thing with supply lines and wrong side of the tracks on gta sa those were easy in my opinion air raid was the hardest mission in that game
As a kid it was soooo frustrating. Playing as an adult I beat it 1st try.. I guess I was a dumb kid
Beat it on the 1st try as well, and was surprised, because the internet was preparing me for some sort of nightmare...
I love the way the game captures the feel of the 80s, it’s like an awesome gangster movie (more so than gta 3). With the music and hilarious pop culture, the lighting, it really feels like the 80s. It’s quite a contrast to 3, and although I like both, Vice City is one of my favourites in the series. But, San Andreas is my true love.
This video is what inspired me to buy Vice City on my ps3 again cause I hadn’t played it since I was a kid and now all these years later I’m playing the definitive edition on my ps4 and I just wanna say, thanks man. The passion and superb writing on these videos is off the charts and I really owe you for getting me back into my now favorite videogame series.
I swear it's always GTA Vice City that everyone has a scratched or damaged disc for.
mazda9624 Honestly mine is GTA San Andreas
But I did pretty much destroy my friend’s copy when we were kids lol
@@someonerandom8552 Yeah, my Vice City and III are mint, but my San Andreas looks like it was used for outdoor hockey. I'm not the original owner so I wasn't the one to destroy it, but I did have to buy another copy just so that I could actually play the game.
southpaw117 My original SA was actually on PC. But it snapped. My 360 disc ended up with an error message. So I gave up. Then I was just going through the PS store and found a three pack. III, Vice City and SA for like 20 bucks. I like to think it’s fate lol
I really need a life, i remember all the cut scenes n more.
Kenneth Williams I’ve memorized the whole map. I don’t need to use the pause menu map or even the minimap in this game 😁
PaulXPZ that's all the gta's i can get around, san Andreas i can drive that map with ease.
Yeah, you need a life of crime playing this.
I know san andreas by memory. I would turn off the HUD
GTA Vice City: the very first m-rated game I played. I remember when my sister first let me play her copy. She was having trouble with the Demolition Man mission and had me beat it for her. We would play it almost constantly after that because we had so much fun.
The error message comes up if you are playing on an HD TV with the display on high settings with game mode on. If you turn the HD display TV setting to 0 and turn game mode off, the game should work fine and no error messages should appear
William Fichtner as Ken Rosenberg is fantastic. He gave his all in his performance and seemed to really have respect for the project. He’s excellent in everything I’ve seen him in, even something as mid as TMNT 2014. Love the man.
The times when masterpieces would come out in a year!
Yeah no it's not possible to realse a masterpiece every year. Games get more complex.
@@amankumar5602 i know, not anymore since games were much more simpler than nowdays
EDITED: IMO This was the first time Rockstar had perfected their GTAness formula.
No. The first time was III.. explain me why vice city is the first and not III.
GTA 3 was great too and revolutionized open world game
Why do people hate it
3 was revolutionary, but vice city was better in every aspect
I wouldn’t call it perfect, but it’s my favorite. I like the main character, the atmosphere, and the soundtrack music on the rock station was a bunch of music I grew up listening to in the 90s. It’s not often you get real metal on a game. I stopped playing gta games of late. I never played 5 and I wasn’t really crazy about 4. I liked 4, but I’ve already played 7 gta games. That’s enough of a series.
Dror Levi the First wasn’t 3. It’s called gta 3 for a reason. It’s the 3rd sequel.
Seriously? No talks about how he pronounces ‘gta’? I like these videos bro keep up!
jeedee ay
GTA III was a great game but Vice City expanded on that
What I remember mostly out of this game is the soundtrack and the radio stations.
Man I wish this radio stations weren't fictional and we could listen to them in real life . They were a big part of the personality and feel of the 80s
One of my favorite video games of all time. Love this game.
Fairly good review.Only Max Payne isn't a Rock Star game! They didn't make it.Remedy made it. Then sold it to Rock Star.
Melvorgazh shut yo bitch ass up
Sub Zero he's right, but I understand how hard to have IQ of sub zero
Like how they did l.a noire
Melvorgazh the same could be said for LA Noire but since remedy and Bondi games went defunct and they sold out to rockstar, they are now rockstar presents games, I.E. they are rockstar games, may of not been built by rockstar but they own the names so they can say the games are theirs
I think that gets assumed a lot since R* published each game.
How does this guy have only 6k subs? Keep it up, man. Loving this nolstalgia content
GTA_VC my favorite GTA game simply because of the sensation of 80's
KEEP FEELING FASCINATION
"Many people who weren't even interested in gaming bought a PS2 just to play GTA 3." Damn, I always like gaming though, I bought a PS2 for Gta San Andreas, an Xbox 360 when Gta 4 came out, a Laptop for a graphically better Gta 5, and recently an Xbox One X for Red Dead Redemption 2. I was so eager to play games like Uncharted 4 and God of War, but why didn't I choose PS4? Because I just wanted to play a 4k version of Red Dead Redemption 1! I love games like Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty, Splinter Cell and Battlefield so much, but Rockstar Games seem to be the only company that can make me buy a brand new gaming platform with only one single game. I've complaint a lot about Rockstar, but still, thank you Rockstar Games for bringing me so much joy.
GTA 4 and red dead 1 on ps4 would be great but it’ll probably never happen :(
@@seanmartin2038 True, sadly
Imagine GTA VI set in Vice City in the 80s or current year with HEAVY vaporwave aesthetics. My dream.
@Enguarde honestly im hoping for the late 70s early 80s miami because thats when it was the worst in crime and they could add in the bahammas or colombia for smuggling coke
@Enguarde all the hd gtas have been in cities theyve done before so it would only make sense they would do vice city
Looks like your dream will come true in the next couple years. :)
VC will always be my favourite GTA.
Me to
I never had a problem saving at the ice cream place. maybe I have an updated version I guess
@scaryhockeymask Later copies of GTA Vice City had patches that fixed the glitches in the game and removed dialogue aka Haitian references.
GTA Vice City one of the best games ever.
Gta sandreas u mean
@@edp-xo1on no far from it!
@@edp-xo1on San Andreas is a good game but leave it out this time will ya
This is my favorite video game of all time, and this is one of your best review ever
"YOU TOOK 15 YEARS FROM ME SONNY AND IM GONNA MAKE YOU PAY"
Yea
I own you tommy those 15 years were mine to spend
One of the best games ever made.
like 15 years i never noticed the hanging body in the BG in the intro cut scene lol WOW
2:30 The song is called "Broken Wings" by Mr. Mister
Grand Theft Auto Vice City was a huge impact on my gaming life, so does my brother too
Difficult to believe some of those actors that played the main characters are gone
Great review. And yeah, personally, I am only interested in a new one if it's set in the 80s. A modern version wouldn't have the same magic.
Came here for nostalgy, left with a burning urge to listen to Out Of Touch
The Best GTA! PC version was the best!
lol no, PS2 version was the best
Yeah PS2 was the best for both gameplay and visuals. It even removed an extra weapon on pc, It's the teargas. I also love the original car colours more, They don't have that awful looking chrome over it wich takes the colour away. They look like fucking toys on pc.
Pc better with mods, beat that Ps2
Graphics < Gameplay. PS2 version worked way better than PC.
Lololo better on 12 fps,nice
Vice city was the first GTA to include bikes.
Gta 1?
Was GTA III hyped pre-release? Can't imagine how mindblowing that experience would have been back then
Very good review. I love this game to bits. Finished it on the PC hundreds (I kid you not) of times. Finished on mobile. Now just started playing the PS2 port on the PS4. Surprising how I still remember every single little detail.
Amazing video! You should really do a video on gta vice city stories and liberty city stories!
I think playing this game when I was little really paved the way for me loving the whole Miami look. I love the pink and blue neon colors, the palm trees and the orange sunset/rise. I think my love for that Miami vibe made shows like Dexter and Burn Notice more enjoyable rather then them if they were set somewhere else.
That was my money Tommy! MY MONEY!
"8 hours to beat"? Bro, most people ain't speedrunning.
Love your channel, btw. You give us insight and trivia that meshes well with the review, making any review about a past game worth watching.
My all-time favorite gta in the entire series. I would love for a new gta to take place in Miami or remake this game with gta 5 mechanics and graphics
“This is the last dance for lance vance”
“Demolition man is easy”
Laughs maniacally
Yea it was for me the hardest missions were the shooting range one a little bit but no doubt the race one for the nightclubs was a nightmare
@@greedgod5827 the shooting range is easy the problem is because you dont save the ammo you have to shoot one bullet at a time to preserve ammo.
@@moneyman64 I dont remember it's been a decade since I played the game last all I remember is the stupid fucking race against the sabre turbo was my most hated mission by a long shot the shooting range was doable
@@greedgod5827 for the driver i just drive normally i can manage to do it in 1 try but it can take up to 3 tries.
I've played ps1, ps2 , 360 , xbone... years of gaming , hundreds of games......non of them hit my like vice city.... what is it that makes this game so amazing !! Will always be in my heart
Back when I played GTA Vice City back in like 2010, I saved at the ice cream place and it didn’t corrupt my save file.
Which Version Were You Playing?
This game was my gateway to the world of gta
I love Tommy lol and who remembers Sunshine Auto's? I know you do!
I remember not having a memory card, killing Diaz everyday, and seeing how far I could get. To this day I know the beginning of this game like the back of my hand
I feel your pain, you coulda just left your ps2 on
@@ez1826 My mother would randomly turn the game off while I'm at school and tell me I wasting electricity lol
@@KrisThatsit lol that sucks, luckily my mom didn't know shit about electronics or plugs and never messed with them
i adored the story of this game.
now years later.. we go back to Vice City in GTA VI :)
Only it's not set in the past
It needs a remastered version already... Tf is up with em?
XON3D6IXXGODD red dead atm
Remake *
Well, they aren't owned by Activision, so they aren't purely about grubbing for money. Would love a PS2 collection remaster as a complete package, similar to Crash or Spyro... but there's a lot of licensed music and celebrity voices involved.
Want a remaster? Go play the 10th Anniversary version on mobile.
@@BullworthGraduate "remaster"
this is the first gta game i ever played, hell, this is the first game i ever even played and im so proud it is,i just love this game its amazing
That Demolition mission was a pain in the ass when I first played the game back in '02. Love the game and I just beat Vice City recently and I beat the Demolition mission with ease.
This was my 1st Grand Theft Auto I have ever played.
I saved at the ice cream parlour all the time never had an issue and I was playing on PS2.

i like vice city stories more because it was like gta sa, but i still like vice city since i was a kid when i played it
Definitely underrated
Jeeze haven't seen this for years.!! I still remember that map 10years later lol
R* didn't make Max Payne. Remedy did.
R* bought the rights to Remedy's Max Payne and then published it.
I think that gets assumed a lot since R* published each game.
Great nostalgic reviews, man!

Please review the original GTA games including London.
Glad I played this on the PC. So much sharper (played 1280 x 1024 on 17" CRT via RGB component cable) and more vibrant colours than on PS2. This game was the one I loved the most and the one I would pay a full $59 price for if it were to be remade with RDR2 version of engine
GTA VIce incoming right? And RIP Ray Liotta.
And now RIP Tom Sizemore.
I play Vice City for rampaging and San Andreas for money making/myth busting.
Something about playing Vice City feels like coming home from a vacation in San Andreas. It has those warm purples and blues. Very first time I played/completed it was on mobile.
So did u get 100 % ?
Totally disagree about being set in the past rockstar can do a lot spoofing a modern Miami
KeoneArt it would be the exact opposite
Florida man, the amount of super cars in Miami, the amount of Retirees. there's quite a bit of stuff to make fun of.
Agreed, I want a modern Vice City. We had 2 VC games in the 80's already, plus the story wouldn't be as connected to GTA IV or V if set in that time.
What about all the classic songs and cars from back then ? Thats part of the appeal of Miami really.
@@aCID990 yup, totally agreed. The drug dealing and mafia activity in the 80s is still a big defining feature of Miami all around the world. People don't think electric cars and smartphones when they think of Miami; the first picture that comes to mind is gorgeous sunsets, old supercars, palm trees and synthesized music.... and that's the Vice City I hope to get in the next GTA
What an ending.. “.. it has to be set in the past”
This came out the day of my birthday
love your reviews man
I ❤️ GTA vice city such a great atmosphere!
I love how he says " G-D-A III or Vice City"
I didn't like the controls in the console version. The shooting is terrible and there are some really annoying things going on in Vice City. The atmosphere and everything else is pure gold tho. :)
Knut Kniffte 👍
RiP Tommy, we lost you way too soon.
Rockstar payed the news media to talk shit about the gta series to boost up sales and hype
??? ??? Really? Sounds kinda strange
It's true
They did but only for the first game.
"It's true" shows literally zero sources.
the people who used pc to play Vice city know how we feel when we complete demolition man
Vice City has the best gun sounds of the ps2 era GTAs. San Andreas guns all sound like toys, it's jarring. Not to mention the atmosphere, vibe, aesthetic and soundtrack of Vice City. It's flawed but it's my favorite.
If GTA 6 is set in Vice City, they should definitely include a more Georgia/ Florida Okefenokee swamp area with the Everglades full of Aligators. Although if they were to set GTA 6 there, they’d have a lot of work on their hands. Modern day Miami doesn’t really appear in the limelight much. I know very little about it
The best thing from gta vice city were the radio stations
Agreed
You make really great content! gem of a channel
2:34
look closely at the helicopter, the pilot is lance vance dance!
Man it's sad how much better this looks than the new trilogy release. Even if the fidelity/framerate isn't there, the visual style (especially on the PS2 version, I was surprised at how much even the original PS2/XBox/PC versions differed) is so distinct. The new versions look so generic in comparison. Especially Vice City & San Andreas.
1:57 For me, that still doesn't sound like what it says on the subtitles
Those booklets for the GTA III era games were really fun to skim through when I was a kid. It's funny, Super Mario Odyssey of all things sort of brought back that idea, just in the game itself.
