I honestly get the reasoning and it's common along all streamers doing guides on PC. But I really wish you wouldn't quick turn or do what you think is showing people by using look at high sensitivity or what ever the heck it is. It's so disorientating and it saves people like me zero time because I have to rewatch three times to centre myself. Just a thought.
better path for trevor - when you drop in hug the left and do the first one, then stay left to get the second one like you showed. However here is where you double back instead of continuing forward. jump across the center gap, and then go right for the 3rd switch, coming back towards the center of the map, then hit the 4th and walk straight out. (L1, L2, back through center, R1, R2, exit)
And you never have to worry about Trevor while running that pathway. How I used to run it too! That apparently was my clan role back in the day of OG Zero Hour. Getting all my clan mates Outbreak. 100% my favorite repeatable quest in the game. The heroic version being on that shortened timer was rough. As someone who wasn't in the .01% of PVE players, I could never truly do the whole heroic solo. I always told them that If one of them could get to the end with like 2-3 minutes left I'd be good. I always needed help clearing all the trash at the end. Could beat the boss in time but always just ran out of time while clearing the remaining ads lol.
Jumping across and doubling back so the last switch you hit is near the exit.. yep definitely.. your starting direction should be to go the same direction as Trevor then do exactly as Jeremy said, if you get turned around use the green exit signs with arrows to orient you.
Really glad to have someone who takes their time to explain the mechanics and thew whole mission while other just rush through. Really appreciate the guide man
Thanks, I really appreciate your gameplay, vids and walkthrough. It empowers solo players of lesser skill levels to go get it done. Your diction, voice and tone are soothing, not pompous, arrogant but uplifting and inspire a willingness to try. Learned some things in this vid. Good thing I already have the Outbreak Perfected, this mission would take several tries. Thanks again.
Seen many comments about this. Legend will have different paths when you get to the ship. Need to go to the top most part of that area, there will be a bunch of vent pipes and a flickering light, there will be an open vent there. A few more changes as well. Hope he does another one for legend to show folks.
Quick note for the burning steps puzzle, there is a map on the wall of one of those side storage rooms that shows the actual sage path, this will help as it will change on you.
Awesome guide as always! The way you talk and explain things is so reassuring that really gives a sense of calmness that there's no need to be scared of trying things solo Just wanted to note: for the tile section, there's a map on the wall of the route to take, which might help people go through it. Just in case it changes weekly like how it did before
Thanks Mactics! looking forward to running this mission again. I think between Trevor and the jumping platforms, I still have nightmares from the original 😆
I love these types of missions, Whispers defines the exact moment we fell in love with Destiny. My brother and I finished zero hour on legendary last night with seven seconds to spare. My load out was pretty basic, I took my sweet business/war rig, and switched to ramparts for jump puzzles. For my heavy I used my Avalanche machine gun and Asher’s scout for snipers. My brother and I are both titans and ran very similar setups. The two of us ran it multiple times last night from scratch without looking up anything and methodically worked through each of the obstacles as we got to them. After the hanger the route completely changes between normal and legendary and gets significantly harder. When we were ready we looked for a third player and picked up a good warlock that had completed it then proceeded to run it. We set ourselves time goals constantly trying to shave off seconds on each fight. One of the key time gates was getting to the outside wall with 13min on the clock the second time gate was getting to the boss with 6min on the clock. We failed our first attempt and ran it again pushing extremely hard. The warlock was slightly ahead in the robot room and made up some time but was not quite sure of the lava floor puzzle (it must change from week to week) but we all got to final boss with a little more than 6min on the clock. Like a said at the beginning we only hard 7 seconds left on the clock when we finish it.
Great guide! I just followed it and completed it solo with plenty of time remaining. The only part that you may want to consider adding is alternative paths on the steps puzzle; mine started on column 1.
A thorough and concise guide, watched this for a refresher since I did this way back when it first released, back then ran it all with Riskrunner.... I died so much to that outside jumping platforms originally lol
This is awesome. I was struggling so hard yesterday and kept running out of time on the boss. With this build I beat it first try with 10 minutes to spare!
Thank you!! I was struggling doing this solo since my clan mates are UK based. After watching your video, I finished it easily with time to spare…much love from Dayton to Cincy.
watched this once while it was live, and then came back to it again when i *tried* to solo this myself… man jumping puzzles can be tricky - great video tho!
@@KawaiiPotat0 and the different path in the middle of the mission, the floor plate path in the puzzle room are the only other differences between Normal and Legend atm.
Thx for this. Best walk-through for a exotic mission. Completed this for the 1st time ever, even though i play this game since it came out. Anyway, thx again Mactics. Keep up the fulltime. Walk-throughs will definitely boost your channel
You can shortcut the outside jumping puzzle with the 3 vandal snipers. When you kill the first vandal, stand where he was and just go straight towards the ship. Fall until you clear the hull and then jump towards the vandals. You may need grapple grenade or Icarus dash but you totally bypass the small ledge jumping.
Great video! Thanks. Friend told me about, but it was hard to find because I was searching for "Destiny 2 Zero Hour Mactics". Adding "Zero Hour" to the title would make it easier to find.
9:55 as a Hunter, you can easily make it to the lower walkway from here. Face the wall and you'll see sort of a slot running the wall, run towards that, fall until the opening and use triple jump to make it to the platform.
Honestly I sat down and it took me a day to get everything for Outbreak perfected. Including catalyst and the puzzles. Do the time glitch. Seriously even with a fire team the 20 minute time limit is absolutely insane. What was Bungie thinking
I just completed my first solo zero hour run using a tommy’s matchbook and wormhusk crown build from a few videos back, i think this shows how capable this build is and how it can stand the test of time
I used an Adaptive munitions LMG for the entire beggning part. never ran out of ammo and Mountain Top was for the Heavy / Sniper shanks and my polaris lance was for the walker at the end due to being a massive bullet sponge lol. I switched to a kinetic sni[er and heavy GL for biss. Just pray for AMmo drops lol
since you can switch weapons freely seems like a arc scout will help sometimes personally since i'm old and my muscle memory is all around void hunter for pve, plus wormhusk crown, i'd probably use that. i'm sure access to nighthawk will make some bosses faster, but since time doesnt seem much of a factor i'll prioritize safety.
I always loved how the they are called Walkers, since my name is walker, when me and my dad would play d1 he would always point it out how a enemy was named after me, might have to go play d1 to remember 8 yr old me memories 🙂
Thanks for the guide mactics! I had already gotten the weapon and catty a long time ago but im trying to do the legend run today to get the perk rapid hit and by god is it too darn hard. I had a great team and we cleared rooms with ease but the jumping puzzle near the end is just too much of a time killer so by the time we get to the boss there aint no time to kill him. Any advice?
Just a tip for the fan section. Once you drop to each section to the wall on the pipes and shoots the shank below you. And stompees make easy work of that wall section without using a super to extend it
Another great upload and guide. But Bungie and their jumping puzzles makes me want to quit sometimes. Im not even going to bother with this one. I got my Blast Furnace.
I only just got through the fans with 2 minutes left, because I kept having to flip back and forth from the video to my game 🤣🤣🤣 Oh well. .a couple more tries, and I'll get the bill of it memorised...excellent video Mac 👍
I picked up the zero hour quest on my titan a few days ago then forgot about it, I jumped on my hunter today and was able to launch zero hour even though I did not have the quest on hunter. I finally finished zero hour solo but did not unlock the crafted outbreak perfected since ada still had the quest for me to pick up. Learn from my stupid mistake and make sure you have the quest on your current character. Oh well, guess it's time for round 2 after picking up the quest, lol. Great video, although the pathing near the end changes, so you will need to look at the map on one of the walls.
Thanks for the run through mactics I like your videos and your voice doesn't drive me crazy and you're fairly thorough and thus far I don't think I've read any of your video openers or thumbnails that talked about stuff that you really didn't deliver on so if you see this thank you keep up the good work
At 9:56 with my warlock I can face the wall and jump towards the wall and let myself drop down and glide the rest to the last platform where the button is that gets the antenna out, not sure if it works with the hunter. It would for sure work on hunter with an eager edge sword. You can save a lot of time there by skipping the whole jumping puzzle.
Once you get good with this stuff one thing you can do is use the mountaintop to rocket jump some of the platforming sections and save a tonne of time.
Dude where was this when I spent 3days soloing this mission. Good stuff brother I do it slightly different but I definitely needed a refresh cause I kept running out of time
Wow so casual this mission is actually really really hard to solo, most people can´t remember the way or dies on jumping puzzles and arriving to late for the last boss so the time runs out but you did it so easy. good work man, makes me wonder how many runs you have done?
Ok, finally beat this last night solo with 23 seconds to spare. Was quite the rush. Too bad the loot is trash, crafted OB is barely better and you dont even get the ship without doing a bunch of other stuff. BTW, I recall solo-ing this the first time around yrs ago too. I didnt remember much but I'm sure there was some muscle memory in their. Just like Calculus lol. After my first 3-4 failed runs getting the route down etc, I honestly was about to give up, the final brig and adds just seemed too tanky, no pun intended. I didnt feel close. I kept racking my brain for different loadouts. I started with Mactics loadout here, then decided I would be better off with my standard invis tether hunter setup. I dont PVE much anymore so I'm a bit out of the loop. But the successful run was back on Solar. One of the first changes to mactiocs loadout I tried, was Gjallahorn. I figured I could just blast through all the difficult parts with Gjally, the tried and true. However this required using legendary scout rifles instead of Polaris. Which I eventually found out is not a good idea. polaris just does too much damage, and basically is the foundation of beating this mission imo. Also, Maybe I was missing some rockets but Gjally just doesnt seem to deliver the damage needed on some of the end fight bosses. One thing I realized was I was wasting way too much time on the spider tanks. People said Dragons Breath one shots them. So I thought about that a lot but never did a run with it. It would also require a legendary primary. The final breakthrough was when I watched Esoterick's vid. He did legend solo on a solar nighthawk hunter in like 15 minutes. Here I was struggling with 40 (even if normal is currently bugged, enemies have legend health). So I figured, his loadout must be the best. And copied it. fragments, aspects etc. It was similar to mactics I guess, but did seem to have some special sauce. and it didnt really crush my stats with negative stat aspects as much as mactics which i liked. Again I dont PVE and and am dumb, so I'm not entirely sure what was going on under the hood, but I think a lot of scorch and ignite was going on. Also I noted his stats, he was like 8mob/10res/2 recov. I didnt exactly follow that exactly of course but close. I got the point, high resilience, recovery doesnt matter. and healing nades. the main change in eso's loadout was he went with a solar machine gun for heavy. so of course i did too. he went solar mg, mountaintop, and polaris. what i noticed on a skim of eso's run, was he was often dps-ing bosses with lance, not anything else. some lights went off in my tiny brain. I honestly truth be told didnt even use the MG that much, again i relied most on lance.. One thing I just discovered AFTER my successful run was there is a rally flag point before the final boss area. I was always rushing so fast I didnt notice it. So I did handicap myself a bit on heavy use, I didnt have as much heavy ammo as I could have in the final area. I'd say the heavy MG is nice. It allows you to really clear out the adds for example in the first area FAST. Even though the first area was very scuffed for me, I think I died a couple times, I still completed it faster than I ever had before. So I could really see the potential of Eso's loadout. I tears through shanks like butter no matter their shield type. The other time the MG really came in clutch was DPS-ing the final brig, I got some heavy ammo just in time, just enough, to knock his plate off. And of course, nighthawk gun shots, are clutch DPS. you use a shot on the first brig, first walker etc. Oh and there is a skip of the jumping part outside the ship. I kept seeing comments about it here (its what got me started on Esoterrick, they said look at his vid for the skip). I never found a vid, but I think I figured out the skip for myself. That did save a solid 1-2 minutes I think, considering I had 23s left, It was probably the difference in success and a fail (though TBF there are many points in the final boss area I could have done quicker, got hung up on the walkers a bit again, missing the rally flag costs me too, etc) Totally not trying to crap on mactics, his build was actually very similar. It's entirely possible if I'd stuck with mactics build I would have broke through the same run. felt great, didnt know destiny pve still could hold moments like this. too bad was pointless. no ship, and ob perfected i wanted to craft for crucible, but was reminded it's trash for crucible anyway. that and bungo timegating the crafting perks, plus the fact a part of the quest is legend zero hour which will def require a lfg team which=no beuno, has made me lose motivation to continue the quest,
Thank you for the video you helped me to get the gun got it on my 4th attempt solo , lfg was not my friend either filling up fast or experience required .
you don't realize how instrumental that specific mountaintop roll is... he said it's not necessary, but, to get these times THAT easy, it definitely is, FYI
I lke to kill the exploder shanks from on top of the first or second fan before dropping down. Sometimes the fan blades intercept the shots but it saves risking damage and only takes a couple extra seconds. Though, I feel like it also shaves a few seconds off because you fan just transition to the next red section as you're falling towards the current fan you're headed to.
for titan i used mt top, polaris and fixed odds with precious scars. it made fights a lot better because the lmg would clear enemies and shields and any solar kills give me healing. also normal hammers instead of maul super
17:51 just note this puzzle changes paths when on legend. And there’s no map telling you what it is which was great for our first legend run lol. Far left, up two, right but not the last plate, up three, far left, and up becomes the new path
17:40 I'm very confused because I did the platform segment and it was VERY different from yours in terms of route. 3-column, 3 forward, left then all the way to the wall, forward until the "second to last pad" same as you, except then we went right 90 and 3 squares forward then LEFT 90 again to the end. Strange.
Whoa is there more than one way through the jumping puzzle or did they change it? I remember there being an outside part where you had to jump around a corner and lots of little platforms would fall when you landed in them. It was different than the area with the platforms that drop in your run.
subbed for one reason only. You don't sound like a dip-shit who speaks with a flaunting attitude cuz your guns and your playstyle make you feel awesome and get all the gamers on ya dick lol. keep up the great work! tried this tonight with a friend and had a blast. going to attempt again tomorrow. having watched this video it has given me a better understanding of the entire run! again; subbed because of your attitude and well though-out explanation. great job! when i ran solo earlier all I had was a Battle-Scar pulse with Kinetic Tremors (freaking love that perk) and it worked ok, but seeing the loadout here will obviously give me a better chance.
So the disco floor path changes daily, here is are maps of the 3 possible paths for normal: x.com/D2LostSector/status/1791406542685716631
I honestly get the reasoning and it's common along all streamers doing guides on PC. It's so disorientating and it saves people like me zero time because I have to rewatch three times to centre myself. Just a thought.
On one hand, it's so encouraging that Mac talks as if I'm really capable, and that feels nice. On the other hand, I'm not that capable.
😂 Amen.
I keep trying to tell myself that it's not that hard, and that I'm just shite, maybe one day
Gotta have the confidence! I sure you can pull it off
Yep, definitely not for me
Mactics/Fallout/Aztecross/&c: Anyone can do this
me: lol dude have you seen me play
Another tip for anyone doing this solo: Dragon's Breath can down Fallen Spider Tanks in like 2 seconds with a single shot
Smart!
Great idea but the problem is the exotic slot is already taken up. Yes, you can swap but that seriously depletes heavy ammo doing that
In his game 😂
You don't need the exotics in this vid so you can use dragon breath@@StuN_UK
Please do a LEGEND version of this! Please!

The perk Deconstruct works on the final form of the boss - a 40% damage buff on your Edge Transit is very strong.
Yep. For some reason people just don’t realize how good deconstruct is
Really great guide. Love how you explain your reasoning behind every decision as someone who often wants to know the why just as much as the what.

And the hardest imo
Really? Interesting. Newish player here. Out of all the exotic ones. This is one of my least favorite.

Poloris lance completely took over, did have trouble breaking the brigs mask off. Still managed to beat it though so thank you so muchh!
I did this when it first came out. Has anything changed this time around? Is there anything new about the Outbreak now?
Dude where was this when I spent 3days soloing this mission. Good stuff brother I do it slightly different but I definitely needed a refresh cause I kept running out of time
Superb video! Very accessible as far as your strategy, and loudouts.
Just finished this solo. Thanks for the guide!
Thanks bud gonna give this a go ... are the enemies bugged legendary on the normal run or is that how they are meant to be
Awesome video! Just got my craftable outbreak perfected
24:33 im sorry mactics but this is hilarious xD
thanks for the guide tho, helped me in flawlessing this mission
Wow so casual this mission is actually really really hard to solo, most people can´t remember the way or dies on jumping puzzles and arriving to late for the last boss so the time runs out but you did it so easy. good work man, makes me wonder how many runs you have done?
Very nice! You make it look so easy 😂 I tried it earlier and never made it to the boss.
That did save a solid 1-2 minutes I think, considering I had 23s left, It was probably the difference in success and a fail (though TBF there are many points in the final boss area I could have done quicker, got hung up on the walkers a bit again, missing the rally flag costs me too, etc)
Totally not trying to crap on mactics, his build was actually very similar. It's entirely possible if I'd stuck with mactics build I would have broke through the same run.
felt great, didnt know destiny pve still could hold moments like this. too bad was pointless. no ship, and ob perfected i wanted to craft for crucible, but was reminded it's trash for crucible anyway. that and bungo timegating the crafting perks, plus the fact a part of the quest is legend zero hour which will def require a lfg team which=no beuno, has made me lose motivation to continue the quest,
Thanks! Helped me a lot. Was able to solo flawless with this guide but achievement is bugged :(
You can tell he's on PC, RiskRunner on console has fucking ridiculously INSANE kickback
Love the way your clearly explain things. Thanks @Mactics!
I just joined your discord and your community is awesome
Rocked it out with warlock, many thanks for the breakdown a tips
Thank you for the video you helped me to get the gun got it on my 4th attempt solo , lfg was not my friend either filling up fast or experience required .
Thank you for this - solo complete. Really helpful!
you don't realize how instrumental that specific mountaintop roll is... he said it's not necessary, but, to get these times THAT easy, it definitely is, FYI
wouldn't autoloading vorpal be better

I lke to kill the exploder shanks from on top of the first or second fan before dropping down. Sometimes the fan blades intercept the shots but it saves risking damage and only takes a couple extra seconds. Though, I feel like it also shaves a few seconds off because you fan just transition to the next red section as you're falling towards the current fan you're headed to.
for titan i used mt top, polaris and fixed odds with precious scars. it made fights a lot better because the lmg would clear enemies and shields and any solar kills give me healing. also normal hammers instead of maul super
Masterfully done as usual, Mac.
17:51 just note this puzzle changes paths when on legend. And there’s no map telling you what it is which was great for our first legend run lol. Far left, up two, right but not the last plate, up three, far left, and up becomes the new path
Ay i remember watching this on thw stream how was the tacos?
Amazing to watch live and in video
The jumping puzzle is my biggest threat😂
can you redo some of the Dungeon vids with Prismatic Setups?
You made this look so easy. How about doing this with Strand and a Void build. I would love to see your gameplay with those subclasses
Strange.
this was the golden age of destiny2-hoping shape brinhs it bavk
This helped me a lot. My 5th attempt was successful
Thank you so much for this. 🙏❤️
You made it look so easy 😂 thanks for the video
Got the new quest and couldn't remember which one it was... loaded in and IMMEDIATELY ohhhhhhhhh i remember this one
Polaris lance is GOATED for this mission. Got it in my first try
We need the pantheon guide for this week, please drop that.
Whoa is there more than one way through the jumping puzzle or did they change it? I remember there being an outside part where you had to jump around a corner and lots of little platforms would fall when you landed in them. It was different than the area with the platforms that drop in your run.
That's legend to get catalysts.
Legend mode has a different path 🙏🏽
subbed for one reason only.
Need a guide like this for the switches.
