Huh! How cool!
This movies sucked bad tho. Also this is basically a video all about UAD. Everyone says UAD every 15 seconds it’s a bit stupid. Hidden commercials all the way
@@telkmx you sound like a fun person to hang out with 😏

Most accurate comment.

This was 30 min?!?!? Woah, it really flew by
& Yesss, loved his track so much, felt really coagulated
That AJR track was really impressive for me, so much musicality in that piano hook
Please, I’m BEGGING 😭 for full songs to be released somewhere. I want to have these on repeat without the commentary over top
I'm begging too
They used to upload it on that bandwhatsitcalled website...
I personally love when producers keep the samples somehow AT LEAST minimally recognizable. I’d feel like a criminal if I got those beautiful vocals and made it sound like anything else but beautiful vocals haha.
AJR creative process was so fun to watch 👍
I actually dropped my jaw when I saw the words "Hiatus Kaiyote" they're from Melbourne where I live, and they are SO underrated still, despite the fact that they are the sample at the very beginning of Free Smoke by Drake.
Still so slept on, so thank you for bringing more attention to them!
I didn't know they were underrated. They are pretty huge where I'm from.
I’m a huge fan of Hiatus Kaiyote as well. Blows my mind how many people I look up to in the music space use their work as samples yet they haven’t become a household name. Crazy for sure.

Huge respect for getting Kaitlyn on that one. She's a gem.
Andrew's take killed it. So good

I am a huge fan of Son Lux and they've been my inspirations for a long time. it's really nice to watch them producing
100%
Part of me wants them to be more visible and make more ‘how we made’ type videos like that for their music but the other part loves the magic of being blown away and mystified by how they made them.
The Son Lux track would definitely be put on a Hiatus Kaiyote remix album, fits their vibe almost perfectly.
Kaitlyn's piece was by a wide margin the weirdest thing so far on this series, and it's BEAUTIFUL
As soon as I saw the Buchla I knew I was in for something special.
Nah, it's just weird.
@@Yotes4Lifeyou definetly liked the AJR one best huh
I would say it's so weird and different that it's no longer music. I don't know what it is.
But it was beautiful.
Son Lux's was pretty out there too
Literally a dream come true to peak behind the curtain on Son Lux's production and to see them remix a Hiatus Kaiyote track is something so special. Amazing work by all those featured, thanks Andrew for putting this together just so inspiring.
Ryan Lott of Son Lux have a course on Soundfly where he shows how he creates instruments and makes music ;)
@@adomasstrazdas8133 mate thank you for letting me know!
The quickness of AJR producing such a full and complete song is insane

@@mathiaseliasmusic did find anything yet, still searching, i also really like this flip. anyone found it?

ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT !!!!!!!!❤❤
Son Lux??? that composed for EEAAO??? these guests are fantastic
As soon as AJR slapped in those flutes I was on board. That's SO FUNKY omg
Having Son Lux here breaking down the how-it's-done is really something I'm grateful to learn from. Especially, after their work in Everything Everywhere All at once. I've been so obsessed to know more about their approach of doing things and how it is possible to make the step from making records to film scoring. THANK YOU ANDREW AND THANK YOU SON LUX. ♥
I like how ajr introduces themselves as if they're a small band
Exactly, I’ve loved them for YEARS
It isn't an AJR song without some kind or crazy amazing synth sound or brass section. Lol
They all killed it
oh 100%
Ok hearing one of my favourite artists (Hiatus Kaiyote) being remixed by ANOTHER favourite artist (Son Lux) was such a treat! Another great addition to this series.
Nearly spat out my drink when I saw Hiatus Kaiyote and AJR in the same title. These artist lineups you're getting are insane!
Oh my gosh, I did *several* consecutive double-takes when I saw you were working with AJR. I know you've had some big names on the show before, but this is next level!
Thank you for all the hard work you do to make this amazing series possible.
I don't know if Andrew has ever not won to me. He has a lot of fierce competition, but he slays these.
The 4 producer's series is so dope. I love how everyone's interpretation varies. Looking forward to the next one 🎛🎹
Huge, huge lineup here. Makes me wonder what's next.

This series has been one of the best things on youtube ever since the first episode. I can’t get enough.
I FREAKING LOVE HIATUS KAIYOTE, I FREAKING LOVE SON LUX, AND I FRRREEEAKKING LOVE ANDREW HUANG.
Sending freaking good vibes to all.
Thank you for making this video.
Son Lux: "so yeah we used about a dozen different plug-ins to help create this one sound"
AJR: "Strings or horns?" "Yeah do a horn"
Amazing music as always!
Would love to see one with Jacob Collier
Son Lux are true sound designers...fascinating to see them craft such unique sounds.
I love how all of these producers told their story in their own unique way y’all some time travelers!!!🔥🔥🔥
Son Lux always leads you somewhere. At the end you do not know if its a place you wanted to end at, but with no doubt you would let them do that again. Love the series and never expected such strong group of artists here at once
Bro all these flips are mint but specifically your track in this is so incredibly sick, the way you constructed it with the vocal chops and the layering with the strings and the synth at the end and just the whole vibe is immaculate. Always blowing me away.
Full body chills on this first Son Lux track... AJR's song is so fun and groovy and just got me into such a good mood. Aurelia Smith's track has such a cool and unique environment. And Andrew's beat is crushing as always. The bass line is so good and that beat is so dope. This just got me so inspired. Thank you Andrew for bringing different artists together to make stuff like this happen : )
*Oscar Nominated* Son Lux!!!!
Wish the son lux section gets released....it was insane!!
This series keeps getting wilder! AJR is a pleasant surprise; I've always loved their sounds and it's awesome seeing what a real mobile rig looks like!
I hope Son Lux wins the Oscar!!!
14:31 wow the way she says that it just seems like it's actually part of the track. Fits in perfectly
Son Lux is insane. Been listening to them for a while!
Same - hyped to see them on this!
@@bricelory9534 and now nominated for two oscars even!
Yeah, I totally did a double take when I saw they were on this episode! Love them SO MUCH!

@@bassmelody2868 first off, while there is some impressive skills shown with Son Lux's track, we're not blown away by how hard it is to compose the music they make. We find the music interesting because even if anyone could (which I am rather certain you couldn't, nor I with some of the techniques used), it's a matter of what they chose to do. It has intriguing rhythms and textures that are unexpected but surprisingly cohesive - creating a distinct voice. I, for one, am not particularly interested in how hard something is, but rather how interesting it sounds. It could be the simplest techniques around, and that would actually make it all the more impressive that they made a unique and intriguing track with techniques that everyone knows.
As for why I in particular like Son Lux: they use very interesting amounts of space and orchestration (for lack of a better word) - having a large distance between high and low voices that is open is a technique they use really effectively. All their elements come together for a cohesive and surprising song that manages to take very disparate sounding ideas and juxtapose them to capture my imagination. They are so naturally intriguing to me, I have a harder time seeing how someone wouldn't find them interesting.
I love seeing Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith here. Her newest album was one of the best in 2022
Her track here was mind expanding.
wanna listen to her stuff now...name of the album?
@@darkslayerlion286 the new album is called Let’s Turn It Into Sound, but her earlier album Ears sounds a bit more like the track she made in the video imo
I remember taking a friend of mine too see her live back when she was touring The Kid. He's a more conventional dance music producer. When we walked out I asked him what he thought and he was like, "I have to completely rethink everything I thought I knew about music."
@@metabeard3788 Sounds like an amazing transformative experience for them. I can see it and that makes me smile. :D
I'd realy like to hear the songs as single releases. Great job, I realy love the series and all the different approaches the creators are taking. A truly awesome project you are bringing to life!
This line up is insane. Son Lux have made some of my favourite music of recent years but Kaitlyn's track was such an incredibly physical experience, absolutely loved it
Even as a Son Lux megafan, Andrew's is my fav take.
So glad to see so much of Son Lux lately. This was awesome.

They must be vvvery busy

It's amazing how even if you don't know some artists, you realize how producers expose a lot of their "self" in music. At first I found Kaitlyn a bit introspective, but after hearing her version I understood that there is a universe going on in there.
I can't thank you enough for providing such easy access to such beautiful inspiration, available for essentially any aspiring producer on the internet. Inspiration that is not only in this video -- which is truly phenomenal and showcases such beautiful minds (including yours!) -- but is present in each and every video you release.
what a legendary line up and a legendary video!! i loved seeing all the different creative processes from all my favourite music artists THANK YOU ANDREW :D
kaitlyn should be scoring films, this is has so much emotion
So inspiring. Thanks to all the music producers! Amazing work
What an absolutely stacked episode! Some of my favorite bands, on a show I already love. This is insane.
the tracks created in this episode where especially distinct experiences- like Ian said, the different brains!! amazing
Very awesome episode!
I would love to see Fox Stevenson in a future episode. He's an avid sample-flipper and makes awesome music. Think he would fit pretty well
My favorite couldn’t be any other than son lux but props to AJR for making the most AJR track ever
Andrew, yours had the most feeling! Congrats to all!
Favorite YT series! Bless up Andrew
Son Lux is a group I've loved for well over a decade and their sound is so distinct and meaningful to me, what a great lineup! Love how different each one is
Thanks Andrew! You bring together such talented people for this series. It's also really nice to see collaborative artists this time around.
Andrew, please please please release this track. To say it's one of my faves from you is saying A LOT!
WHAT incredible lineup holy
This has got to be my favorite episode of this series to date. Incredible songs from all the producers.
The amount of detail these artists go into in their productions AND explanations of their process is so interesting.
WOW so fun!! Amazing results. Love Andrew’s beat so much 🔥
Petition to invite eliminate to summon the audio combat energy on the 4 producer 1 sample challenge.
Fantastic! And a nice introduction to Hiatus Kayote, and I'll be listening to more of their stuff. An amazing spread of sounds and beats, and some fabulous vibes. So many creative ideas and definite inspiration (or instant depression!) for those of us working on our own music .... we've got *so* far to go, and *so* many different possibilities.

I just discovered Son Lux about a year ago and have become kind of obsessed so seeing a peek into their creative process is an absolute treat! Thanks for another awesome vid!

watching a son lux track being born is amazing, thanks!
WOW... that was an awesome mix of creativity. I've been missing these vids and this did NOT disappoint!!! All of them had such a fresh flavour and of course, Andrews was, for me anyway, the most energetic BUT....... Kaitliyns was by far the most out there, next level use of imagination for me. Her use of sounds and layering to create that other worldy, hypnotic state was insane and to be fair, i've not heard much like this ever. Exciting and inspiring, to say the least!
Top marks to you all; you all did amazingly well with what you had and flipped them flawlessly but as said, Kaitlyn now has a new dedicated follower lol. Much respect to you all. You've certainly opened me up to many more interesting styles and ideas to play with in my own musical journey...... and this is why i absolutely LOVE this channel.
