Nice grammar clips...many people are visual learners, so this is great.
+Shiv Kumar Visual learner right here, it's great when pointed out and it makes more sense to me. :)
Who dislikes and educational content video?...
Awesome video!!
Thank you.
yeah... who?!! This video is amazing!!!
Maybe people who don't think the video was helpful, the video was confusing, or a number of other reasons, disliked this. I am not one of the people who disliked it, but I'm just saying that people probably have a reason for doing that. And no, no one is a moron, Motasem Akasha. :)
People who didn't find the video helpful.
Maybe it was a person who was fed up with what often seems like arbitrary rules for the English language, specifically writing in a college class. I thought the first example he used was a perfectly worded sentence, made sense and was a great example of a good sentence however because this guy with the sweater on says it lacks parallelism, you can't use it. I thought what he changed it to, sincerely and passionately, was completely unnecessary and made the sentence boring, using two "ly" adverbs so close to each other in the sentence BUT now it has PaRaLlElIsM so it works.
My students did pararellism a lot. This video helps me to make them aware of it. Thank you Shaun.
So simple, clear, and helpful.
You are an amazing teacher! Thanks.
Thanks.
I’m a mature student studying higher English, your videos are fantastic… now I need to get back to my essay 😬
This video cleared my concept, Thanks a lot for this informative video.
Nah, "he spoke sincerely and with passion" creates a bigger impact than "he spoke sincerely and passionately."
oh tnx really, im from Morocco just 3:36mn but it was very helpful than 4h in my class ❤
Excellent video. I played it to my college composition class. However, we're also trying to avoid comma splices in our essays, and your excellent video contains a comma splice: "University students use the internet to research essay topics, [sic] business people use it to hold video conferences."
What you are sharing is very helpful to students like me. Thanks a lot.
It helped me a lot in understanding modifiers
you remind of Auggie from Covert Affairs

Kelly,
Thank you for your comment.
Finally a source with related material! I've been searching for hours for grammar information. Yet, 90% of what I find is: "You are a noun." "The dog is a noun." I'm sure the ESL students are happy with 90% of the content.
this really helped me in my second term exam thanx

“Children use computers to play video games, business people use them to advertise products, students use them to research secondary sources and it is used by teachers to deliver homework assignments.” i am wondering if this sentence is a comma splice, because four independent clauses are connected with commas.
Good question, but no, this is not a comma splice because of the "and" before the final clause. This is a series of clauses, much like how you can write a series of words or phrases. Hope that helps!
Great video, thanks a lot !
so happy i got the one he said pause right!!!

Sir,please clarify my doubt."The lunch is at 1.a.m.(I mean in the afternoon).can I use 1 a.m. In the above sentence in stead of p.m.P Siva Rao,India.
Can you please tell me how to write coordinate sentence the first one wish support topic sentence. I have exam next week. Thank u
Odd question; you know when you said "under the sofa," as the fix? What if he was looking IN the sofa itself, meaning he pulled the cushions etc. would it be better to fully explain that? I just figured since the original sentence said "in the bedroom, in the sofa," it meant he looked in the sofa, not necessarily under it. Sorry, weird question.
Not a weird question at all. But yes, you would have to specify "in the sofa" to make three parallel phrases in that sentence: in his bedroom, in the sofa and on the kitchen counter. It is possible to use a single preposition (in) with multiple nouns in a list as long as all of the nouns share that one preposition. For example, he looked in the fridge, the sofa, and the cupboard.
Wow,thank you so much. I learned a lot from your videos. I especially loved the examples AND being able to go to your website and practice. There needs to be more people like you (or you need a bigger push) if I know anyone struggling i'm sending them here. Thank you.

Thank you for this informative video. In my opinion, this is one of the most pointless and boringly conventional rules out there. It leaves no scope for creativity, but then again, I guess this is technical writing.
You are awesome!
