I'd love to see what you do to self-care in nursing school, how you set up your bujo, any hobbies you may have outside of nursing, your makeup routine (loving your lashes!!), and any new tips for nursing school as things in your personal life come up, etc! Thank you for sharing your life and talents with us!
I just got accepted into nursing school yesterday and am finishing up my prerequisites right now. I feel you on the impact that quarantine has on motivation/inspiration. I feel like without my school routine I’m nothing. But being accepted has kicked me in the right direction again. I’d love a video on tips for new nursing students! What to expect, things you wish you knew, the most important things from your prerequisites to refresh on before you start your program, what to prepare for, what you did right before your first semester, all that stuff :)
I just started nursing school and it would be nice to see study techniques, how you take notes, exam tips, self care, day in the life, things nursing school has taught you or changed you stuff like that!
AH! I'm so happy you have a new video. I love love love watching your videos, and I think you are hilarious! I start nursing school in August, so I have been binging nursing school vlogs the last few months. I love your channel, and I used a lot of your study tips to study for my entrance exam. (:
Thank you so much for sharing samples of putting together a study guide. As someone’s who hasn’t been in school for years... knowing how to do bug study tips like preparing a study guide is an absolute necessity!
Definitely questions!, I am currently in med surg right now.. and it's so much information crammed into 5 weeks.. it's hard to retain so much. I have to push through as well, because during lecture I find myself dosing off just staring at a computer for 6 hrs a day 😭. You got this! ❤
This is so helpful! I was not prepared for online nursing school.. went on spring break having no idea we wouldn’t go back and things have been so overwhelming. I feel like I’m drowning in busy work and I’m struggling to organize and learn the material because it’s being thrown at us so fast and we’re expected to just absorb it all. I love your study guide and how you crunch all the info down. Motivation has been the hardest in all of this. My husband’s business has sunk and I really need him to care for the kids so I can get through the last six weeks of the semester so it has been stressful as heck. I know this situation is affecting everyone in different ways but please know, you’re not alone! Just keep swimming 🙂
Its a terribly difficult transition and it’s affecting so many people in many different ways. Stay safe and keep your head up! It’ll all be worth it in the end❤️
You've got this Rachel!!! It is really tough being a parent and going to school. I have 3 kids (16, 15, 9) and with trying to work full time, help them with their homework and keep a clean house, it is hard work!! My husbands business is also a little slow but we are managing ok. Hang in there!!
I would LOVE to see a how you study for finals week video! It’s my first semester and i have finals coming up and in trying to think of a way to figure out how I’m going to make time for each class!
Whenever I need motivation, I watch your videos. We have the same priorities and pay attention to the same things! So glad I follow your nursing journey as I’m going through mine, keep it up girl! ❤️ 🩺
Hey girl! Great video ❤️ I go to the University of Illinois - Chicago and I have to agree that second semester is WAYYYY different. I had to completely change my way of thinking/studying this semester. We’ve got this!
Can you give tips on how to handle online classes? I’ve never had online classes & since schools closed, it’s been hard for me to adjust & stay productive.
You are welcome. Let me know if she help you out a great lot because she have free study check list and community membership for nursingsos member and a email where you can inbox her
Hey Diana ! It’s another Diana from Texas lol ! So I just got accepted into nursing school, and I definitely used your previous study tips especially creating a routine which helped me tremendously this last semester. With the whole rona and not being able to go back to school after spring break to finish my micro and chem class I definitely felt unmotivated to do anything. Luckily I was still able to get accepted into nursing but again it’s online format for now. I would love to see how you organize material, I really liked how you showed in one of your last videos how you keep yourself organized with what you do on your planner, but maybe one with how you separate your class work for different subjects. Thanks for you videos they definitely helped a lot ! And best of luck with the rest of your nursing school journey!
Just started 4th semester of nursing & we do concept based learning style. Last semester I had my first instructor(ever) teach straight from the book without powerpoints lol but I'm back to having tons of them. So I'm making my study guide like yours & I was just wondering if you still use this & how it worked out for you. I want to condense everything down as much as possible but as you know it's difficult to predict what is actually important to know. Can't believe I stilll have this problem lol
I would like to see a video of advice for how you get through this. Nursing school is so hard as it is...and now with Covid there is an extra pressure as well as different ways we have to do things. How do you keep your head up? Stay disciplined? Get motivated?
Hey girl. I hope you're doing okay. I come to your channel once a week to see if you've posted or commented anything recently. I really look forward to you coming back and creating content bc you were one of my biggest motivators in my nursing school journey so far.
You are seriously so organized and beautiful! I was hoping you could post pictures of all your notes somewhere or email them to me?! Pleassseee we would all love that!
perfect timing bc tomorrow is literally my first day of my ABSN! Before you used to write out the lectures while watching and then make a study guide but are you just typing them out/making the study guide as you go through the lectures now? id love to see videos on how to survive online school since you've been doing it for awhile!
Yes i totally forgot to like say that in the video, but i dont handwrite anymore... its all on that word document!! Those notes become my new study guide :)
Hi. I love you so much and your content is really inspiring. I like that you are a real person and I totally am experiencing low motivation and everything definitely stinks right now. Thanks for being the greatest and I appreciate all you do for a bunch of internet strangers.
Hey girl! I graduated from UW-Madison last May and I will be starting an accelerated MSN program in January and I’m pretty excited! I would love to see a video of how you became interested in nursing and your process of getting into nursing school and how that impacted your first bachelors degree! Another video that would be awesome to see would be what you would bring with you to clinical and what you’ve done at clinical in the first semester! Love your videos!
Just found your channel! I'm a senior nursing student and I do my study guides similar to this & it definitely gets me by with B's lol. For content suggestions: - How to study for ____ (pharm, fundamentals, med-surg, etc.) - A week in the life of a nursing student ONLINE edition - Favorite study materials (books, pens, apps, etc.) - 10 things I wish I knew before starting nursing school Thank you for sharing your study guides!! (-:
Your videos are very helpful! Your doing a great job! I wanted to ask if you could share how you manage your time studying for each class, could you share what your calendar looks like in organizing study time for all the classes? Thank you!
My notes are just like yours, a lot of people think it’s cluttered or TOO much but for me I have to understand it fully to be able to do answer questions & work my way around things. I also am huge in formatting, highlighting, extra paper etc. sometimes I right something down once and don’t even refer back to it ever again. But writing it down helps! Loved your MH pharm table- did you make it?
i'd love to see you do a video on how covid-19 has impacted your nursing program. i'm applying for a program soon and want to know if my experience will be less beneficial as opposed to pre-covid (i.e. are classes mostly online? are labs smaller or less hands-on? has covid impacted clinicals? etc.) thanks :)
There you are! Was wondering when a new video would come out...re: new video ideas...I would love to just see a day in the life video especially now with the Quarantine. How has your school adapted and how are you adjusting etc.
Hey, hey, hey 👋🏻 By any chance do you share your study guides/pass them down to future Loyola student also going into the absn program? I’ve always had to work extra hard in school than the average person and uuuf looking at all your information makes me really nervous 😰 i can spend all day taking notes and studying, yet I can’t wrap my head on how I would be able to completed all those notes for all those classes.
Girl, you are amazing!!! I am so impressed. I would like to ask you: how long does it take you to read each chapter this semester and the study guide? How do you stay motivated and keep the energy? Please answer for I need help!
Going through a lecture can take me anywhere from 1-3hours (depending on the class). Studying each section and reading through the textbook also varies on the information and class. But can take between 1-3hrs as well. My motivation is very questionable during this quarantine because i CANNNOOT focus at home. But, the fear of failing pushes me through 😩 i have to find a quiet spot, get a coffee, a snack and check out for acouple of hours.
Oh my god this was so fucking useful. I’ve never seen a study video so useful! I’m only in the first part of the video with the lecture but do you have tips on textbook notes?
Do you have a nursing Brain you use for clinicals? If so, do you mind sharing it? Also, just tips overall in how you navigate you clinical days (when you had them before Covid-19)? Maybe a video about why you want to do nursing, inspirations? Thank you, I love your content!
When you make the study guide, do you copy and paste the text from the powerpoints or do you type out the text yourself? Thanks so much! Your videos are so helpful.
Hello, so now you type up the lectures from the teachers powerpoint? and then read the book and add notes to your typed document? I love your video btw they are helpful:)
Teachs us first aid, tips we should know just for our own good. What to consider, create a scenario example and explain how to handle it! I think during this time we should know certain things as humans (:
Hello I am in the rn program and I have the worst teachers ever and they are not helping me, they don’t offer study guides cuz they thinks it’s cheating they don’t give hints on how they prepare the test question wise. One teacher literally told me you need to know it all, 5 chapters for one test 100 prayed each chapter and she says know it all. That’s all the help I get. Reading for hours and trying to remember everything is not helpful and not possible for me. Do you have any suggestions ?
When you make these study guides, how long do they take you? Cause it's a lot of information. I too love beautifully formatted notes, but it takes A LOT of my time making the notes, but I find that I'm too occupied making notes rather than studying them to my liking :(
That’s how I feeeeal too! I feel like all my time goes into just the notes. 😓 her videos make me nervous and question if I’d be able to get through it. I don’t mind giving all the time to school. I already do that all the time. It’s just if all my time goes into trying to make my notes when will I be able to study for all the classes.
Just to be clear, you don’t take notes in your notebook anymore like you were first semester? Now you look at the PowerPoint and type your notes instead? Then print and add written notes in the margin?
What do I have to do to get you to email me that mental health drug chart lol taking mental health now so upset its online due to covid I'm not an online learner!
I made it through her too, she works with the national al council of states board of nursing NCSBN as an I.T engineer for the board data mrs Jennifer thank you
To me making a study guide and all of that is kool but it’s a waste of precious time for me ... long as i have the powerpoints my book and lap top .what i do is study by following my powerpoints and the book then go to either ATI or my book website and just do practice questions like 150 or more a day.

Hello, so now you type up the lectures from the teachers powerpoint? and then read the book and add notes to your typed document? I love your video btw they are helpful:)

Do you ever write notes in an iPad with the Apple Pencil?
Are you going to make anymore videos?
Any advice for med surg? Especially when it comes to notes.
Do you mind sharing by email a study guide sample? So I can see up close. 💕
We need a life update! Hope you’re doing well (:
Do you sell your notes?
Hi how many questions are on a typical test?

Hello,
How are you studying for the NCLEX?

Great video!!! Coming in handy for sure❤️ second year student nurse here on UA-cam👋🌞 x
Thank you for the perfect advice 💘💘💘💘💘💘
What semester are you in? And how many do you have? I am in semester 2 of 4. About to finish my second!
I just finished my second semester
Do you just keep reading over it, it’s kind of hard just to memorize it from typing it out.
They said fundamental in nursing questions are a abit complex , what’s your tip on that course?
Juliet Amadi i suggest quizlet - search practice problems and read the rationales!!
It takes time adjusting to nclex styles questions
To me making a study guide and all of that is kool but it’s a waste of precious time for me ... long as i have the powerpoints my book and lap top .what i do is study by following my powerpoints and the book then go to either ATI or my book website and just do practice questions like 150 or more a day.
