12:01 These ideas are all actual vaults in the Fallout games btw. (In case you didn't know already.)
The credits scenes actually spell it out for everyone. But the people that recognize that landscape already know
fuck yea! New Vegas here we come!
2 things from early in the season: Maximus said he joined the Brotherhood to hurt the people that hurt him, and that turned out to be Hank. When the Target took that banana flavoured cyanide pill he said it was the most humane thing that Vault-Tec ever made, and he was telling the truth.
Apparently the poison that skeleton family all consumed seen in the 2nd episode was also made by Vault-Tec.
@@x_trio_3_po333 Same poison: Vault-Tec Plan D. It was a deft little bit of environmental story-telling, with a small pay-off at the end of the episode.
Omg. I've been getting the feeling that a VaultTec vs BoS war is coming but I'd forgotten the "to hurt the people who hurt me" line
He also said he was surprised it wasn't more popular. I wondered if he knew that because he's also from the past. Might explain how he knew so much.
"I don't know who the good guys are"
Well, the Fallout world is more different shades of grey. The NCR is sort of the good guys faction, but a flawed one.
The town in the end was New Vegas, the location of one of the games.
And yes, the Robo-brain was Bud.
Robo-brain? I think you mean Roomba-brain.
Who's Bud?
@@brazwen The guy who speaks to Cooper @6:37 and is also in the darkroom meeting @11:06
@@mrm7058 Oh, I see. I didn't connect that. There's lots of details to pick up on. Honestly, this show exceeded my expectation; possibly the best video game adaptation to date and I hope it sets a precedent for future titles. Cheers!
I remember "Hank" being in the first Dune movie from 1984. He was the lead character. Co-starring Richard Jordan and Sting.
And don't forget Patrick Stewart.
Wild that he was a main character in this show around the same time that Dune is being remade and is extremely popular.
when Maximus pretended to be a BOS knight, he smiled a lot at the power he gained. Now as he will really become a BOS knight, his expression was not happy indicating his life goal has shifted.
I think Lucy's mom has become a feral ghoul, no words can reach her unfortunately.
One fantastic little detail I loved is that every time Hank is mentioned directly, the ghoul growls and makes noise.
No one in the Fallout world is really the "good guys." Some are just less bad than others.
It's from the Loki series, but it's a quote that fits: no one that's good is ever truly good. No one that's bad is ever truly bad.
The big reveal at the end really only has "big reveal" type energy for those that have played the games.
all people who played the games were squealing with delight at the reveals...and that end shot...that was chef's kiss!
@@bvbxiong5791 I watched one reactor say at the end "Is that Seattle?" 😆 🤣
@@johnnygonzalez1344 me too!😆😆😆
@@johnnygonzalez1344saw the same one. Those dads are dudes who’ve never left their state or play single player rpgs
@@mysredeyes 😂 that last sentence there slays!
The "war room" is straight from Dr Strangelove...What they didn't mention was that Shady Sands was created by former Vault Dwellers.
"I don't know who the good guys is here" ... well the guy who dropped a nuke on an innocent city instantly murdering 34,000 people and breaking the back of the first good civilization to emerge from the wasteland (the california new republic) is probably not the good guy. Moldaver methods may be questionable but Hank is just pure evil.
I'm almost willing to bet money that only will season 2 show us that what Moldaver did was pretty much a carbon copy of what Hank did to get his kids back out of Shady Sands but that it happened during the "great famine of '77" when her dad dropped down to 128 lbs.
The city in the final scene is New Vegas. Anyone who played that fallout game would instantly recognize it. I am sure more will be explained next season so you don't really need to know but anyone who played the games likely freaked out a bit with that final easter egg.
I’ve been playing through the games from the beginning because of this show. I originally wanted to get through ALL of them before finishing the season but I couldn’t stop myself from binging it and that would take hundreds of hours. I’ve played Fallout 4 a lot, but never the others except a bit of New Vegas. I’m already through 1 and 2 and now making my way through 3. Just so impressed with the details they managed to include in the show!
The irony of Jinx in the background is not lost on me. :)
The Ghoul's actor also voices Cecil in Invincible, if that show-name says anything to you.
yeah I don't remember who it was that said it but credit to them....Both Maximus and Lucy got what they wanted He is a Knight and she got her dad back...and neither was happy with it because it wasn't what they dreamed...be careful what you wish for
I thought the exact same thing about the William/Man In Black comparison while watching the show. And with the Ghoul make-up on, he kinda looks like Ed Harris. Both shows are produced by Nolan/Joy, too.
Bud's end game is doomed for failure anyway. What's going to happen when he releases all of those "super-managers" when the world is wiped clean? They will fight among themselves, stab each other in the back just to get power over the other.
You mean like typical corporate managers. Remember Bob Morton's famous feud with Dick Jones?
In FO4 there is a vault very similar to Lucy's. Containing friendly folks, however for centuries they were all unaware that Vault-Tec had a far, far more sinister agenda at work. And the Vault dwellers were also unaware that they were being spied upon.
I love this series. It has many inspirations, one the central ones hailing from the classic film: the good (Lucy), the bad (Max), and the Ugly (Cooper).
the experiment was, the three vaults being connected, with a "managerial master-class". yes, those were "Bud's-buds" and it's Bud on the roomba. that were being defrosted to lead/control the vaults. and then manage the rebuilding of the surface. obv the idea was flawed and doomed from the start, but that's from a company that considered starting a nuclear apocalypse, so...
remember when Lucy thought she was silly because she thought the sun was real until she was 6..? yeah.
Lucy was just in complete shock, i felt it was appropriate she didn't say anything for so long.
the view at the end is New Vegas, from the other Fallout game.
the town at the end is New Vegas from Fallout: New Vegas. Its a great game if you ever get a chance to play it
Fo4 is better tho

I have only played Fallout 4, many, many times. There are 4 factions, Minutemen, Railroad, Institute and Brotherhood. I have NEVER played as Brotherhood.
God I’m so glad you said that The Ghoul is essentially The Man in Black from Westworld because to me it was so clear that’s who he was built off of in terms of character
yes, and then again a bit no.
It's all inspired by the typical spaghetti western protagonist - so there's _more_ than a little 60s/70s Clint Eastwood in there. Both in the man in black from Westworld and the Ghoul.
Of course the Fallout franchise takes a lot of inspiration from the Mad Max movies as well (except actually driving cars). There's _lots_ of Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome aesthetics in there.
@@beelzeduck well yeah but it’s the same team behind Westworld so that’s why the connection was made. Obviously they’re inspired by spaghetti western protagonists, they literally are that lol.
And Fallout took many inspirations but yes aesthetically it’s definitely Mad Max. I think there was a drivable car in Fallout 2 but I don’t know for sure.
What a nice surprise Larissa.
The original Man in Black from the 1973 Westworld film was a very different kind of character from the later TV series.
Any time I see a favorite reactor posts a new episode reaction that surprises me, I always have to verify "Did I miss their previous episode?" I spent 20 minutes making sure I hadn't missed your reaction to this series. Thank you for explaining that I _didn't_ miss your prior reactions.
The actor who was playing the head...
That's an interesting phrasing. I've heard he was in Lost, but that show I have never seen. I always think of Harold from Person of Interest.
Lost is a really great show !! I highly recommend it
@@HermioneGranger-sr4vz Lost is on my list, the person who knows my viewing tastes best (my sis) has recommended it highly.
Wonderful reaction. I look forward to the journey with you in Season 2!
It seems Moldaver was the current head of the NCR, which is generally the morally good faction in the games. They’re pretty much one of the few factions that isn’t completely cultlike. I don’t think she actually leads a cult as “flame mother” although people of course may follow her in that way like those in Vault 4. It’s sad to see the end of the NCR at the hands of the Brotherhood 😢
The ncr still survived and those with muldaver was simply a group
Moldaver led a rogue NCR faction according to the wiki.
Either that, or the NCR just doesn't care enough about Shady Sands at this point, which is probably why we never see any professional NCR army or rangers, and Moldaver, well, is just a rogue leader and is also enemies with the main NCR faction.
Shady Sands only held about 30,000 people, and by the time it was nuked, it wasn't the capital of the NCR anymore. So the destruction of Shady Sands feels like as if Edmonton was nuked - as in it is a major loss, but by no means crippling.
I think that the Brotherhood is still fucked at this point, and they are just deploying hit-and-run tactics against the NCR rather than just facing them head-on. The NCR is just too big for the Brotherhood to handle, and they just don't have the manpower and resources to conquer and hold an entire country.
The Brotherhood is the good guy 😜
"The lesbian story line". In FO4 the Player can develop a same-sex relationship with their companion (even if that companion is a ghoul or a Synth).
LGBT companions or romanceable characters have been a feature at the very least since Fallout 2. Even in the first it is kind of alluded to at places.
In Fallout New Vegas sexual orientation are combinable perks - one can be straight, gay and/or bi.
I thought I missed the last 7 episodes somehow 😅
WAR NEVER CHANGES😢😢😢😢
Loving your vlogs 😊
well they were waiting for Wilzig to arrive, one way... or another.
The Fallout TV series seemed to introduce a new kind of character. That of a zombie. Was not Lucy's mother a zombie rather than a ghoul? There are no actual zombies in the FO games AFAIK. But Rose would have to be ghoul, just a very decomposed one.
Lucy's remark about stuffing a grenade into the head. It sounded like a reference to the 1975 movie, "Death Race 2000", where the protagonist had a hand grenade embedded into his hand. Its so that after winning the car race and he was given a congratulatory handshake by the fascist U.S. President, he would blow him up. BTW DR 2000 is a very very terrible film to watch, even though its one of Sylvester Stallone's earliest roles. Jason Statham's "Death Race" remake is much better.
This ending is massiv. We got electricity ! Wtf
we see new vegas is a part of S2 we know now vault tec did it. Maximus is a warhero of the brotherhood and they will may revolt to become the new westcost brotherhood and then
There is this team with the ghoul, lucy and x-404. This team will become the best headhunters in the westcost. I can't wait for S2
Well, we know Vault-Tec *intended* to do it. But presumably, Barb would never have allowed Janey to be out with Coop if she knew the bombs would go off that day. And Robert House, as we learn in New Vegas, was also caught off guard by the nukes. So either someone else started it, or Vault-Tec betrayed both of them.
There are no good guys in that world.
CX-404 is best girl and has never done a bad thing ever.

Hello Larissa Nice comments! I miss you since Vikings!
Great reaction.
For X-Men 97. It's turned out to be a very excellent show.
Wish you had done reactions to yellow jackets that is one of my favorite shows 😊

Hola Larissa, me encantó ésta serie ya se renovó para la segunda temporada?✌😎
Si
Yooooo I have the same Targaryen banner hanging in my room! And please react to fallout season 2
Btw, the brotherhood of steel are NOT the good guys.
Wait, you bought "the" game? What do you mean? which one? You should be playing New Vegas, 3 or 4, probably in that order.
And 1, and 2
Wow girl, ure lil slow with faces and names))
I think there’s more important things in life to remember than some characters face or names. If she knows Lucy, Maximus and The Ghoul that’s all that matters
I haven't watched the show, but that last area looked like Nuka-World.
It’s New Vegas
@Cornberry Thanks for the correction. I need to wear my glasses before commenting next time 😆
