Welcome to my very first video on UA-cam. Enjoy! 😃
Well edited, good reaction, fun to watch alongside you, plus a beer pairing? Awesome first impression. You earned my sub. :D
Dont take any negative nancies to heart, youtube is pretty toxic sometimes. You did great!
Hell of an intro. And you ended it off with a big ol' puppy!

You are a very pretty girl, by the way.

Fun lore without spoilers for the games or show:
- This isn't an adaptation! It's a fully original story in the world of Fallout. Bethesda has confirmed that the events of the series are canon to the universe, alongside the games.
- The opening happens in 2077. The games and series take place in an alternate timeline of America that kinda stayed stuck in post WWII American culture, hence the 1950's style of the clothing, cars, and decor. Nuclear power was highly normalized, and eventually replaced coal and oil. Transistors didn't initially take off, so miniaturization of computers and tech didn't happen until much later.
Appreciate the spoiler free lore 💖
Thats’s really cool that Bethesda confirms it’s canon! I appreciate the idea of what the future would look like if x happened vs y without necessarily getting into a whole multiverse discussion lol.
It's a logical leap, but the justification is that it followed an alternate timeline where transistors weren't invented until 2067. The games use that as a justification for why things didn't advance. In our timeline, transistors came about in 1946.
It's retro-futurism: how people imagined the future would look like. They really captured everything from the games including atmosphere, humor, violence/gore and so on! One of the best video game adaptations!
Reactions + beer pairings is a concept that's got legs!
Yay! This makes me happy to hear 😁💖🍻
The ghoul is called the ghoul because he is a ghoul. A ghoul is a type of mutation. It is unknown what causes someone to become a ghoul but it usually involves exposure to large amounts of radiation. Ghouls are incredibly long lived and tough. Radiation actually heals them but a side effect of being a ghoul is their skin and extremities become necrotic (which is why his nose is missing). There is prejudice against ghouls in fallout partly because of how they look but mostly because they all eventually go "feral" (Basically they become mindless animals attacking and eating anything around them. Basically they become zombies). And this can happen at any time with almost no warning.
No better explanation than this. Most non-feral ghouls are prewar. Not all, but most.
@@justinnewberry3900 there are hints that some scientists and possibly governments figured out how to artificially create ghouls before the war. There have been two we know of that were created intentionally but it's never explained exactly how they did it. But those two were both non feral and apparently completely stable.
Great information! Thanks for sharing 😃✨
It’s crazy that some can hold off going feral for so long!
@@kanpai_ky no prob
The setting is an alternate timeline. It's a retro future where the US never really got past 50's culture and focused a LOT on nuclear-based tech.
But the pre-war scenes take place in 2077
I think the microprocessor was never invented in the Fallout timeline
Such a creative concept. I’m really digging it so far 😃
@@kanpai_ky Wow u and Lucy goosey r gorgeous 🥵👩❤💋👩hehhe....Meow
@@meghansmith7884 bro
Not sure if anyone explains it in your comments, but here’s context to give the world a bit more sense.
After WW2, this world didn’t evolve how ours did with tech. There is a split in our realities, and in this world the Cold War never ended, it just escalated into a series of wars over oil. To the point where China tried to take Alaska for its supply, leading to The Battle of Anchorage. Cooper, the ghoul, fought in that war.
Instead of inventing the closed circuit, allowing tech to look smaller and sleeker, they doubled down on transistors and radio tubes, perfecting it. That’s why the tech looks like a 1960s sci fi show. However, the style and fashion of the 1950s was so popular it never left mainstream.
One last thing to give the world context: bottle caps as money. When the bombs fell in 2077, the people who had control over large amounts of clean water became the water brokers. They got together and decided a new currency was needed, a currency backed by their water to give it actual value.
Nuka cola was the world’s most popular drink, so the bottle caps would be everywhere. They are durable and difficult to reproduce, so that became the new money
Thanks so much for the detailed response!
I didn’t realize all this about the bottle caps. That makes so much sense now ✨💖
The retrofuturistic design in Fallout reflects an alternate reality where society never progressed past the 1950s aesthetically and somewhat technologically But instead developed a way to harness atomic energy so while some of their tech advanced to futuristic proportions (like the robots) other tech (like microprocessors and transistors) never developed. That’s why some of their tech is so clunky and big. That being said in the Fallout universe a massive war over diminishing resources lead to nuclear annihilation across the planet by the year 2077, the vaults are giant underground fallout shelters scattered all across the US designed to sustain and preserve a controlled population of people so that one day they may return to the surface and re-establish a society to help restore America to its former state however the vault dwellers aren’t the only ones who managed to survive centuries of radiation as we can see.
Love the backstory here! So creative. Thanks for sharing 🙂
This is a alternate timeline separate from ours, where it’s in the future but just stuck in the 1950s / 60s
You're right but we only know it is alternate because things deviated in the late 40s, when the transistor should have been invented but wasn't. In the world of Fallout, it wasn't invented until much later, meaning technology would have developed much differently. Transistor-based microprocessors and CPUs are all many decades behind in development. But atomic energy and medicines are highly advanced. We don't know 2077 doesn't look like that but we can be reasonably confident due to how deviated the two timelines already were in the mid 90s when Fallout came out.
Thanks for the comment. Such a creative concept 😃
If you were wondering, each Fallout game has a playlist you can listen to while you play. They're all full of 50s tunes, picked out for nuclear or nuclear war references. That's why the songs seems so ironic.
Oh that’s great! 😃
Hallo, to clear up your confusion, Fallout is like retro futuristic, that’s why there is that 50’s aesthetic. The very first scene happened in the year 2077 known as the Great War, which only lasted two hours, the whole world were plunged into nuclear Armageddon. I don’t want to slam you with a lot of info, but yeah! Great reaction tho!! I hope you enjoy the series, and maybe perhaps you could even try the fallout games
Thanks! Love the lore 😁
I’m definitely curious about the games and can see why the story is so interesting.
I feel like this is going down in history as one of the finest first episodes ever.
Couldn’t agree more. So good! 😃
Beer, records and Fallout… I’m in. Subbed.
this right here!👆👆👆🙂🙂🙂
Aww thank you 🙏🏻🍻😃
I'm surprised that no one explained the Brotherhood of Steel in the comments. The Brotherhood is essentially an army that seeks out old world technology to use for themselves. They try to reestablish society in some sense, provided that they are in charge. They don't play well with other factions most of the time. The Enclave is the remnants of the former government.
Now you are young, to those of us growing up during The Cold War that intro is what we feared would happen- every day. But we lived our lives. When I teach my The History of The Cold War classes, I always start by showing them a five minute video of nuclear explosions with eerie music, to make your generation understand what it all was- and what you will have to get used to again with Putoloni's sabre-rattling (though he is too much of a coward to do it). During the Cold War, the USSR was planning to open the war by dropping 600+ merely on my little Denmark.
The game is set in an alternative timeline, where the transistor was never invented, so everything used vacuum-tubes like early computers. And thus the timeline starts diverging from ours in the year after WW2, and progress is generally much slower. But there is also no Cuban Missile Crisis, Long Island, etc, and no reckoning with its past, so the US carries on in a sort of Truman-Eisenhower Superamerica with nuclear powered cars, etc. But in the 21st century fossil fuels and other resources starts running out, and The Resource Wars starts; where Europe, Africa and The Middle East is torn apart, and China invades Alaska to get the last remaining oil resource on the planet. And in 2077... Boom.
And oh yea, the US turns authoritarian semi-Fascist, a bit like Starship Troopers.
Anyway, think of the game and series as set in a sort of retro-futuriatic post apocalypse, IE a future as imagined in the fifties, but then add a nuclear exchange of superpowers. In the games you find all those tragic and dark stories as you explore the Wasteland, the series show them, but both do a very good job of what good SciFi should; holding up a dark mirror to humanity- and with Fallout it is really dark.
600+ on Denmark? :O those cold-blooded bastards, that's so needless!
@@DomR1997 well, they wanted to wipe us quickly so they could sail through the Danish Straits to attack the American supply lines to Europe.
Later in the Cold War, they cut it down to two big ones.
Congrats on your first video! Great reaction.
The year the bombs dropped in the beginning was 2077. You were correct when you said it was retro futuristic. The Fallout universe diverged from our's after WW2. The transistor wasn't invented until much later. Basically, the world is supposed to look like what people in the 50s imagined the "world of tomorrow" would look.
Going to watch your reaction to episode 2 now! I'm really only commenting to help with the engagement algorithm 😃
For the algorithm right?! 😁
Appreciate the insight. That’s a cool interpretation and makes and lot of sense as to why the technology feels both retro and futuristic at the same time.
Thanks for watching 💖
Hold up. This is your FIRST vid ever on youtube??? Wow! I could swear on my life you've been doing this for years. I loved all the clips you edited in. You made a splash for sure. I really appreciate the kind words and enthusiasm. Thanks for subscribing 😃💖✨
Nice to meet you! And the woman you're with is also fun. Good dog!
Nice to meet you too! Thanks for checking out the video. Good dog indeed 😆
In Fallout the bombs drop in the year 2077 technology is more advanced but its mostly analogue due to the fact that transistors were invented later in this timeline.
The aesthetic is "retrofuturism" basically what people in the past thought the future would look like in this case the 1950's its also referred to as "atomicpunk"
Atomicpunk sounds like a fun musical style ha ha ha. Very cool. Appreciate the fun tidbits ✨😃
Fallout's theme is Post-Apocalyptic, Retro-Futuristic.
A very unique mixture of futuristic sorta sci-fi, post-apocalyptic and the 50s.
There really isn't anything exactly like it, that I know of at least.
Dieselpunk and Atompunk are basically what Fallout has taken the most inspiration from, aesthetically speaking.
A RPG game by tsr came out in the early 80's called Gamma World
That is basically the same as Fallout
@wiseguy01 it's a little embarrassing as a diehard Fallout fan for well over 10 years now, I genuinely didn't know it's inspiration or really even the original core design (except GURPS).
I've kinda only been a big lore head unfortunately. 😂
@HeatScorcher oh wow, just did some digging on it too..
I kinda always expected there was some huge inspiration from some old tabletops before my time so thats pretty cool.
I've never been really had the opportunity to get into tabletop sadly, except a single custom campaign while drunk with friends like 11 years ago so I don't know if I'd even actually count that lmao.
Great reaction ! I don't know if you've ever done reactionsbefore but your better at it then the vast majority of reactors. A lot of reactors don't realize how important it is to maintain eye contact with the viewer, it's how you stay connected to them. You did a great job of that and sharing your thoughts as they cross your mind is what reactions are all about. New subscriber, you deserver more. 😀
Wow, thank you! I'm brand new to reacts, but I wanted to give it a try. Thanks for subscribing :)
Lucy is exactly how you write an amazing, strong, capable female character. And not a Mary Sue. This shows a 10/10 for me
It's retro-futuristic.. It's if nuclear energy was more commonplace in the 1950's and the semi conductor wasnt invented til much later. I've heard that some say they were never invented, and others say they were invented much later.. I go with that one. The initial episode would have taken place in October 2077.. then 219 years later is 2296 with Lucy. Not 100% sure but think there were 122 vaults.. You'll find out more as the series goes on.. If you listen when cars are driving around they sound electric.. well they are nuclear powered..
Yep, all correct. The original story is 122 vaults. I suspect Bethesda is trying to find a way to walk that one back. I am sure the original creators of the game didn't expect them to still be churning out games nearly 30 years later.
Appreciate the tidbits here! What an interesting take on what could have been
@@kanpai_ky I know most of us want you to have backstory but no spoilers.. certain things just fit better if you have some history. I know very little so am able to not spoil much lol
Beer and fallout? Now this is a reaction, just earned yourself a sub.
Yay thank you 😁💖🍻
In the game lore, the world is split from the real world around the 1950's (Cold war, "Red scare") and keeps that feel until the 'modern' world ends in 2077. The opening scene would be in october 2077.
Very cool! Appreciate the tidbit ✨
Retro Futurism 😊
Congrats on the first vid, and great job. The surprise from the doggo at the end was great lol. Also I enjoyed the beer pairing, I just had a deschutes fresh squeezed ipa myself. Looking forward to more!
Thanks! It's been a while since I've had Fresh Squeezed from Deschutes, but it's a classic IPA for sure. Appreciate the watch :D Cheers.
You can probably find "Fallout" themed Beers...
The Franchise is a long standing bit of Pop Culture.
There was a Nuka branded rum years ago, but it was a massive disaster because of Bethesda doing shady business practices. Would be great if they put some effort and some time into a Sunset Sarsaparilla themed amber ale though, I don't even drink anymore but I'd get a pack as memorabilia.
I can see why there’s so much love for the franchise! If there aren’t a lot of Fallout themed beers already, I’m guessing they’ll start showing up a lot more given the success of the show 😃💖🍻
blessed by the algorithm! looking forward to this.
Seriously! I can’t believe it 😃💖✨
@@kanpai_ky Yeah! Hey do you have a community discord?
Also, the weapon that shot random items instead of bullets is called a Junk Jet. It shoots trash items as ammo at a high velocity.
Or a Rock-It Launcher.
I will try to keep the nerding out to a minimum and avoid spoilers.
The Brotherhood of Steel was created by former members of the US military shortly after the bombs fell. The founding members were actually already in rebellion at the time after finding out that the facility they were guarding was performing experiments on POWs and US citizens. The founder felt that they needed to keep their martial spirit, but also wanted to distance himself from the US military after what they discovered, so they modeled themselves after monk and knight orders of the Middle Ages and devoted themselves to securing Pre-War technology (particularly military techology) to prevent it from falling into the wrong hands.
That's why they're so weird.
And the Enclave is closer to the Illuminati than the BoS. The Enclave was a secret society and shadow government formed by members of the US government, military members, top scientists, and captains of industry who concluded that a nuclear war was not only inevitable, but may in fact be desirable and provide an opportunity to remold society in their own image. They viewed themselves as the legitimate American government and hid away in various bunkers, oil rigs, and other facilities while everyone nuked each other and later came back to try to take over the world with a bit of genocide.
The Enclave are the main villains in the second and third Fallout game sand are mentioned or hinted at in a number of the other games.
Wow! I always appreciate a bit of nerding out ha ha ha 😁💖
This is really interesting. I very much appreciate the spoiler free lore ✨
12:34 she's getting the full Monty
HA! 😂
It's actually a fitting beer pairing. Pretty sure "First Green is Gold" is referencing the Robert Frost poem, "Nothing Gold Can Stay"
Nature’s first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf’s a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.
Sounds like the Wasteland to me.
Amazing! That’s a beautiful reference. Unknowingly fitting ☺️💖✨🍻
One thing about the 2077 war is the nukes used were simple atomic weapons, somewhat less powerful than the ones dropped on Japan. What they lack in destructive power, they made up for in radioactive fallout. Very "dirty" weapons.
Eeep 😧
I didn’t even consider differences in nukes and the implications
this was a fun watch
extremely good production and editing for a first video on youtube. i wish you luck on your youtube journey! i know you'll grow already

nice reaction
the show is great
the sets, the cast, the dark humor, the excessive violence and the beautiful soundtrack fits perfect.
And they manage to create a show that new viewers and fans can watch. It wasn't an easy task, we Fallout fans are a bit weird.
Ha ha ha 😆 yes fans of a franchise have a way of being overprotective and overly defensive of anything that comes out relating to it. Which sometimes is warranted, especially in the case of bringing a video game to a series, where often shows/films go very awry. I feel like Last of Us did a phenomenal job of being a compelling show and so far I think Fallout is doing the same. I haven’t played either of the games, so I can’t speak to that side of things, but it seems the consensus is they did right by the original source material.
And yes, the juxtaposition of darkness and old timey charm and sweetness has made this show so much fun in unexpected and refreshing ways 😃
Thanks for the watch 💖
Delve into Fallout lore, and you'll see where our timeline and theirs split. They maintained a 50's esthetic. And it is the future. The bombs fell in 2077. This could easily happen to us if we're not cautious with our international relationships.
Totally! It’s a creative and fascinating concept. I can see why it translates well to television so far ✨
actually the bombs of 2077 are the second nuclear holocaust. The first happened in the 50's and they are what caused the split (remember the quote "War never changes!" from the intro for fallout 4.
@@FlankerB3 Well, the "Resource Wars" took out Europe and the Middle East, but it was not nearly as devastating as the Great War in 2077, nations survived but wrecked, hence you get Irish, British and Russian immigrants coming to post apocalyptic America
The Great War *annihilated* most of America, the lore is that they dropped huge amounts of mostly smaller nukes, ground burst and with all the fission reactors in cars, factories etc, it lead to the extreme fallout
That was golden 😂♥
Wish you all the luck for the channel. 🙂
Aww thank you ✨😊
really enjoyed your reaction, especially the avoidance of every kind of spoiler
Thank you!! 😁
Get your Stimpaks and your bottlecaps ready, we;re going to the Wasteland.
Heck yes! 😆💖
The world of Fallout is 'retro-futurist', basically what was seen in a lot of magazines in the 1950s when talking about the future. Everything is atomic-powered, homes have robot servants, all electronics have Great Big Vacuum Tubes, and Mad Science-y stuff involving radiation and mutation is an actual thing..
The whole 'flying cars' meme started there as well, but you don't see any of them in Fallout lore.
At the same time as all of the above, this world's fashions, art, music, car designs, architecture, furniture, societal norms and paranoia about communism all have a strong 1950s vibe.
Loved this and I'm looking forward to watching your journey into the Fallout world. 😁👍

It’s soooooo good! 😁
the starting is in 2077. but think of fallout world where they didnt have semiconductor evololution but nuclear. Therefore. they didnt have internet as well. so the culture didnt develop much as well whichi s why it looks alot like 50's vibe as well

It’s 2077 when the bombs go off
It's never explained in the show so I feel like this isn't really a spoiler for me to tell you, but the Enclave is essentially what remains of the US government, and they're a very evil organization in the video games which are often the main antagonists you have to defeat
No faction with working plumbing can truly be evil.
This show isn't over, there's more to come, so this IS almost certainly a spoiler.
@@michaelhoward142 I really didn't say anything that could potentially spoil any major plot points next season. Everyone in the wasteland knows what the Enclave is and that it's bad, Goosey might not but her companions will fill her in
@@yomama629 But the VIEWERS don't know. All they know is that "the Target" escaped from the Enclave. Practically every reactor says, "from where?" or "what's the Enclave?" I assume the second season is going to delve into that stuff and THAT'S when viewers should learn more about the Enclave.
"It's never explained in the show so I feel like this isn't really a spoiler..."

HOLD ON is that a BEER?!
Yes it is! 😃🍻
I’ve seen this on quite a few reactions to this episode so this comment isn’t directed solely at you; Lucy literally introduces herself in the beginning as “Lucy McLean”… and then when the name Lucy appears on screen people ask “Lucy? Is she Lucy?” - and that always confuses me because she quite clearly said her name. 🤷♂️
Oh my gosh you are so right! 😅 I could have sworn she didn’t say her name, but upon rewatching while editing, she indeed stated her name from the get go. I think her giving that onslaught of resume type information just makes some blank out on the fact she said her name LOL.
This is absolutely not directed at Kanpai Ky, but keep in mind that not every “reactor” is equipped for the job. I’ve seen any number of UA-camrs who don’t pay attention, treat exposition as something to talk over, make wrong assumptions based on what they think they know versus what they are actually seeing, who can’t connect details from one moment to the next, etc., etc. I realize not everyone wants the kind of thoughtful analysis you get from Movies with Mia, Cinebinge, Whimsory, or Shandor. But truly *reacting* to any media should take more effort than turning on a camera then editing and uploading a video.

It's very interesting for us Fallout players to see the reaction from people who have no knowledge of what it's about.
Fallout is retro-furistic. An alternative timeline where the microprocessor wasn't invented. It also doesn't take itself too seriously all the time. It has a lot of dark humor
I’m definitely enjoying the dark humor aspects 😅✨. Such a creative concept!
That generic music you chose during the attack on the Vault, surprisingly cut together very well.
Aww thanks! Much appreciated. UA-cam definitely picked up on the copyright music there so had to find something that was copy right friendly and felt in line with the scene
One thing you learned especially from being prior military, some things never change like burning shit. It is a nameless contribution from somebody during the Vietnam war, you mix a can of half Mo gas and half diesel then use it to burn human waste. There are two smells I will never forget, one is a smell of burning human waste and the other is the smell of burning human flesh, enough said.
Wow, terrific first reaction video! Subscriber #610 reporting for duty!

Oh man, Silo is such an underdog. No one wants to react to it. T_T
There's a lot of environmental storytelling & contextual foreshadowing that also makes for a great re-watch, so definitely pay good attention. For example, the raiders had kinda bad manners, tattoos, scars, looking at running water, drinking out of a pitcher etc. - all indications of their actual origin.
Some general game lore explanations, could be considered mild spoilers I guess depending on your mindset but I won't mention anything relevant to the show story of season 1:
The intro starts in the 2070s but they did not invent the transistor like us, so a lot of their tech was stuck with clunky things such as vacuum tubes instead and never miniaturized like in our timeline. They made vast progress in other fields though, such as nuclear tech. The robots, the power armors (pre-war military exosuits) or even their cars are all powered by tiny nuclear reactors.
The Brotherhood of Steel is a fascist military dictatorship with a templar shtick, and one of the most dangerous factions in the wastelands, because they basically gobble up all the pre-war tech for themselves, but also one of the factions the player can join.
The Enclave are the remnants of the old pre-war government. I don't think they're actually part of Fallout 4, the latest game, but I vaguely remember them from Fallout 3.
I wish I started reacting before I watched Silo! It is indeed such an underdog and great story! My best friend says the books are amazing.
Yes upon rewatching and editing I definitely see those little things I missed like the raiders bad manners and appearance. Part of why I enjoy watching other reactors too is everyone notices something different and maybe picks up on things I missed.
And REALLY appreciate the spoiler free lore!!! Thanks for sharing 😁💖

Its an alternate universe. Fallout is culturally locked in the 1950's and technology has developed around nuclear energy.
Yoooo! What was that added music the editor put in @ 15:50? That was a vibe!
I really appreciate this comment as I had to pick and license a song for this section of the video. The original edits were hit with some content ID (copyright) for both the original music and video. I know other channels managed around this, but not my first few upload attempts. I'm still figuring all this out. :D
@@kanpai_ky the bigger your channel gets the more connections you’ll get within UA-cam. Just keep grinding. You’ll get it all figured out! Glad you are enjoying the show.
@@kanpai_ky don’t feed the trolls in the comments with their idiotic complaints and stupid comments. There are some miserable people in the comments sometimes.
@@kanpai_kyYou may see my comment with a contrary opinion. (The new music took me out of the show completely.) For me silence with just your commentary would have been fine.
You like Identical to my favorite teacher its insane
I tend to remind people of someone they know. It’s uncanny ha ha ha
I'm from bourbon country and don't know much about beer. I don't know much about bourbon either to be fair, lol. I just know I am tired of feeling like a have a mouthful of hops. Like wtf is up with that?! Is there beer that is basically just hot chocolate? lol
Ha ha actually there are some really fun stouts that are basically dessert! The ones I have at home are pretty high in ABV (imperial stouts and bourbon barrel aged ones are like that) with notes like chocolate, vanilla, coffee, coconut, etc. I usually bust those out when I’m sharing or for special occasions 🍻
Ignore the haters I think for your first video on UA-cam you knocked it out of the park. You will eventually will get your sea legs and find your rhythm. You have a nice bubbly personality and it doesn't hurt that you're easy on the eyes so I think you'll go far a kid, Lol.
Aww thanks so much. Appreciate the kind words and support! I’m hoping to get better and better as I get more experience doing this 🙂
I guess no one invented the semi conductor?
Pretty much!
That’s what I keep hearing. Interesting alternative timeline of events for sure
I’m down for a brewski & vid reaction 🥳🍻 the show runners are Chris Nolan’s brother, Jonah & his wife Lisa Joy. along with Ramin Djawadi that did the music for Game of Thrones. they also worked together on a show called ‘Westworld’ 🤠🤖 you should also check it out, it’s phenomenal
Thank you! I watched the first season of Westworld! Great story concept. Didn’t know the connection. Thanks for the tidbit ✨
15:02 After stabbing that guy The raider was reported to say " Stick around".
Solid predator reference right there
Interesting! 😮
@@reedclifton7703 gotta love cheesy 80's action lines
Why did you choose this as your first video? What are you in to? Games? Tv shows? Etc
Good question! I was definitely intrigued by the hype I heard around it, not being familiar with the video game.
I love seeing reactions where people are going in pretty much completely blind to whatever it is they are watching. I knew this would be fun going in as a noob and that there’s a lot of love around this franchise.
I did watch and love Last of Us and had a feeling this show had the potential to be another great video game to tv series adaptation. I’m not much a gamer (though if I had more time I definitely could be 😅).
I am a fan of a lot of pop culture though! Big fan of fantasy and sci fi, but am not married to any specific genre. If the story telling and filming is well done, I’m usually in to it 😊✨
This show was surprisingly really enjoyable. Each episode gets better
I didn't know what to expect and couldn't agree more! The episodes and the plot keeps getting more compelling :D
You look like the girl from GEN V
You’re not the only one to say that LOL 😅
Man I didn't notice the ghoul was the cowboy at the beginning of the episode as the lighting was to dark to tell. It was the next episode when I finally got a decent look at him in the light that it hit me. I played Fallout before a few times but I forgot Ghouls live a long time after mutating and that some are from the time before the bombs dropped.
It was the eyes and the voice that got me. I love how they did that. Ghouls are so intimidating ha ha ha 😅
Subbed i thought you were Jaime Pressly
Wow that’s quite a compliment 😅
Thanks for the sub ✨
You should also react to X-Men 97
I’ve only seen the first one. I am definitely down to rewatch that and go through the series at some point ✨
To give you some context on the economy in 2077, a coffee and donut at Shlocum Joe's ( think Tim Hortons or Dunkin Donuts) was around $38.
So just pretend it's four more years of biden at 20% a year.
Ooof! No thank you 😅
There are almost 200 Vaults and 60 settlements. The enclave is a settlement for scientists.
120 vaults, 121 if you count vault 0
@@MJonMBoviM The show is only based on the game. The Game maker (Bethesda Softworks) forced Jonathan Nolan to change certain details for the show. This is the issue that has caused a rift between the fans of the game and the series.
@@theylied1776 I'm aware but the show hasn't broken any major cannon as of yet
@@theylied1776 I am curious where you are getting those numbers from. 122 Vaults is canon (at least according to the Fallout Wiki), I don't know how many settlements there are. What geographic area has 60? Is that in California? NCR? or the entire USA?
@@testfire3000 I'm getting the numbers from the videos Amazon ran before the show premiered. They interviewed Bethesda software, Jonathan nolan, the other showrunner, and the executive producers. Those videos are still on Amazon prime.
They were explaining the differences between the lore of the video game vs. the lure of the Amazon series.
I enjoyed your reaction, but I really didn’t like your use of a random musical soundtrack to underscore certain scenes. I understand why you might have made that choice. But the music of “Fallout” is so distinctive and so much a part of what the show is, that, for me, the modern Muzak was really distracting and completely took me out of the world.
Thanks for the feedback. The original edits were hit with some content ID (copyright) for both the original music and even the video portions. I know other channels managed around this, but not my first few upload attempts. This is my first ever edited video, so I'm still trying to figure all this out. I've heard much of the feedback and Episode 3 won't have anything over the original score, but obviously will only be very short bits.
@@kanpai_ky Don't worry about it. There was almost no Big Band BS in the First two Fallout games, and those were only for juxtaposition purposes, and there probably won't be much in the Van Beuren Project (the real Fallout 3), either. I'd suggest music to overlay the action sequences with, but it's your show.
@@kanpai_ky PS: If you ever play the games, I strongly suggest starting out with Fallout New Vegas, and NOT Fallout 4.
uhhhhhh
They managed to capture a lot of the Fallout universe in this, however, there's a lot of lore problems with it. I recommend watching the episodes breakdown by Reaper after you watch the final episode. There's a lot of problems for those of us who have played every game since 1997. Otherwise, enjoy
Sometimes there’s benefits going in as a noob 🤪
For shows I really enjoy, I do like to watch creators who break down episode by episode for all the little details that Easter eggs, etc.
Thanks for the recommendation! 😊
@@kanpai_kyFrankly, the lore issues are being exaggerated. The lore issues tend to just be areas that we haven't seen yet, assumptions, or are actually very easily explained by the fact that no game has been set on the west coast proper for decades in game and things have developed and advanced that we players aren't privy to. Lore wise, they've really done an outstanding job.
What's with the porn music? Killed the vibe.
Might be an OnlyFans account?
Because of music copyright, I had to put music over that scene. Additionally, the vault scene has video copyright, so it had to be heavily cut up.
