I do have 2013 Macbook air, running Big sur and its works fine. I just use it for surfing..then some data tranfer from iphone to external disc like those stuffs...Still opening multiple tabs , watching youtube vedios and paralelly googling.. :) .. will buy macbook air in 2023 :)
I have one of these. It's on Mac is bigsur 11.6.4. I got this MacBook from my grandma 3 months ago for free. The MacBook actually runs fine, no lag even though I installed a bunch a programs so the storage is 53gb out of 121gb
I have a 2013 Macbook Air which I recently started using again (It was in storage for a few years, didn't want to see it go to waste) being the base model, with 4 gigs of ram and a Core i5, it definitely feels a bit sluggish. I use Big Sur, which admittedly is a bit much for the mac, though for basic tasks like writing emails, watching youtube, and doing coursework, it does well. The keyboard feels great, the trackpad is amazing, and though the display isn't the best, it's okay for the tasks I want it to do. Overall, not a bad machine for basics, but if you're thinking of doing anything like gaming, video editing, or other fairly demanding tasks, I can't recommend it.
It is 2024 --I have a MacBook air 2014 I bought as refurbished from Apple in 2015. It is still running ok. It is slow at times and the battery doesn't stay charged very long. I have heard updates will no longer be available for it soon. I am probably going to replace this year.
I have Macbook Air mid 2013 and it runs perfectly without any problems with 8gb of ram and 256 gb of ssd. And it alsoi runs Intelli j, and android studio .
@@ericwang504 I have the exact same one and it is starting to show it’s age. I will be upgrading to the new MacBook Pro M1 in 3 weeks. (Ikyou diddnt ask)
@@ashleynixon8305 I bought the 2020 MacBook Air when this one died, but it turned out it just needed a battery replacement. I mainly just use the 2013 to browse internet and word process. I still think this is a great back up computer but I really wish I could have waited for the m1 for my new one.
This is mostly because of 4GB RAM Brother. I have Macbook Air mid 2013 13inch with 8GB RAM. Upgraded to Big Sur. And running like a well oiled Machine.
macOS Big Sur performs beautifully on my Early 2014 MacBook Air with the maxed out config (Core i7 and 8GB RAM). Big Sur performs terribly on the base model with the Core i5 and 4GB RAM
@@_Digitalguy it is, now i regret going with the base 4GB when i bought mine new. hopefully upgrading to the upcoming air and definitely going for upgraded RAM lol
The funny thing is, my 2012 Mini can run Big Sur way better than that 2013 Air despite my 2012 Mac Mini only having 4GB of RAM and Big Sur isn’t even natively supported on the 2012 Mac Mini.
Sticking with OS Catalina , i think Big Sur is to demanding , Catalina does everything i want including Kody media player + the crew add-on , older OS dont support it
Have you replaced the battery on your mac?, Mt 2012 13.3 Inch Air was great until one day its battery died and when i got it replaced from 3rd Party by that time it is lagging and its CPU is stuck at .8Ghz instead of the base 1.8Ghz, Any solution?
I have a mid 2013 with i7 and 8gb ram running 13.2.1 ventura and runs excellent. I would get another mb air like this one in a heartbeat. But update ram always.
Hey. I have macbook air 2013 model. It's working fine. The right side usb port has some issue. The right side usb port is working fine with Bluetooth mouse but not working with wired mouse or wired keyboard. But the left side port is supporting both wired and Bluetooth mouse. If there is any issue with right side port then it shouldn't also support the bluetooth mouse dongle. I don't know what's happening ? Can anyone suggest. The mouse is third party company
My 2013 MacBook Air 13" is fast. Ive never had any problems with speed. its fast as the day i got it :) BUT when i started to edit a small video on iMovie it started to lag and fan went full speed. Edit: my macbook can run 4k video on YT?
I have a mid 2013 11-inch MacBook Air... The CPU got SUPER slow, and the battery no longer works properly, so I must keep it on the charger... I call it a hunk of junk. Just downgraded it from Catalina all the way back to Mountain Lion.

My 2013 MacBook Air is slow, too, even on MacOS Mountain Lion, which it initially came on.
You should update it I have MacBook Air 2014 and when u update it it’s more better
Mine is fast on Big Sur but I can tell it’s age.
Might need a battery replacement and a pram reset and/or nvram reset

The only thing that has been replaced is battery
Yes im using bigsur updated to the newest version. Its not the fastest computer but it still runs better then the one in the demo.

@Ibrahim Anser but the mini gets it’s processor from the 13 inch MacBook Pro which is technically a mobile processor.

All I can see in this review is all about UA-cam. From the start to the end of this review, no other apps have been tested. Stupid review so far.
