I for one enjoy your track days. It's sad that you won't be driving there so much since you moved to FL. Also sad that you are going to sell the CTR, if you are able to get the 11th gen or not, we will see.
But I bet you will have fun in FL as well.

I'm interested to see if the FL5 actually improves cooling potential. I was considering switching, but I'm going to stick to my FK8 and see what I can accomplish.
Unfortunately a tuned CTR will still always overheat in high ambient temps if you drive hard enough. Even with cooling mods (they don't prevent overheating just delay it a bit). The only time my CTR would not overheat on track was on cold days. I used to set great laptimes when I had one but it was only about 6 minutes of 10/10s driving I could get out of it before it started to overheat.
Grate video!! Have you used the acuity reverse flow hoses for you fk8? What’s your opinion about it.
It improves things a little bit, and every little bit counts, but the car still overheats the way I drive it on the track
try changing the front grill! in the europe we get the fk2 which is the same as the fk8 and that doesnt overheat because it has a better front grill
He’s selling the type r so I don’t think he is too concerned with it. But yes the front grille restricts airflow too much. The J’s racing or the Spoon front grilles help with the overheating
Even with grill it will still overheat when tuned.
What tune are you using in the car? Are you back on the stock map or something third party? Also, have you looked into secondary radiators that companies like Mishimoto sell to help with the heat issues?
Why ur buy mishimoto thermostat to racing open more earlier temperature ?
Do you do any specific oil upgrade or just off the shelf mobile 1, etc?

I just do off the shelf 0W-40, it has worked well. It's a Honda engine, the engine will never be an issue, especially if you don't change the factory tune.
@FlyinGato really 40 weight oil? Bearing clearances determine oil weight usually and its a 0w20 from factory
I cannot see any difference in the temp guage in the video. Its just iluminated from top to bottom the entire video. How far up is the max before you shut it down?
It went all the way to red, and then it threw a check engine light

Very nice to see FWD going ape shit... In my case, it's Gorilla mode or nothing, since I probably have lowest powered car on the track and need to hang with the big boys. Your FK8 went to hell and back, would nice to see that video... Hope you land the overpriced 11th, since I know you're going beat on it like no one else.
