Yes been struggling with horrible CarPlay issues and significant lag....... This was the only solution that so far seemed to have worked as the lag is gone and with that pixelation of the Waze and google maps screen...... I believe you are correct it's memory intensive so disabling it worked like a charm so far.
hold down on that empty spot or one of the other widgets on the bottom and you can put carplay or any other block down there as a new widget on the bar, much better than the empty spot!
another thing which is memory intensive is android is the animation parameters. I am not sure if these 3 options exist in the developer options but usually they are set to 1x and one could set them to 0.5x or 0x and make the interface feel faster. (potential civic buyer)
I did this on my 24 civic si because I was having Apple play connection issues and sometimes the screen doesn’t come on at all, so I have to turn it off then back on. I was surprised to see that there was no navigation app in my app manager.
My Honda CRV 2020 EX infotainment Center lags with the h symbol in the middle for about a minute then the main screen will come on, blackout again with an h and then the main screen will come back on while all this is happening, music is playing. Do you think this would help on my CRV 2020 ?
It’s strange I seem to have none of these issues. I have a 23 si, my infotainment is very rapid and smooth. And carplay has no lag whatsoever for me either.
@@FlyinGato I use waze all the time and I've still never had any of these issues. I think there might be some bad batches of infotainment going around.
Cool, except now I can't use any navigation apps (Google maps, Waze). At least not using Android Auto (Pixel 7) on my '22 Civic Sport Touring. Anyone else have the same issue?

Thanks for posting this! Worked like a charm for my '22 Civic Hatch!
Glad I could help
Are you using Android Auto or Carplay?
My navigation apps (Google maps / Waze) does not work with this method.
'22 Civic Hatch, Pixel 7
@@johanwallin2817 I use CarPlay with an iPhone 14 Pro
Hi Elias, does the FL5 have the logger that the last year of the FK8 had? It would be interesting to see how it works on the track.
Peace 👍✌️💪
It does! I’ll figure out how to make it work
@@FlyinGato will like to see how it works. Take care Elias.

Why would you disable navigation ? I’m using it, it just little slow to load when you open this app
Sick ima try this out on my 11th gen si, ive had my apple car play stop working multiple times and it connects so slow
Yea this will fix it
I don’t have navigation in my app manager. Are there any other solutions? I’m specifically trying to fixing the audio lag
yes trade in your car lol

It could just be a batch of infotainment systems during a certain timeframe
I think it only comes up if you try to use Waze and other memory intensive apps

That’s odd, all my map apps work flawlessly now
It directly affects Android Auto but not carplay
@@CJax749 Thanks for clarifying! Bummer
