A large pot. From start to finish

- I am making a large ceramic slab built pot in this video. I’m using a technique where I wrap the slabs around a former to support the soft clay, this allows me to use more pressure on the surface when applying materials to make textures and other marks. The video follows the journey of the piece from the start of the making process to its completion when it is put on display at a Ceramic Art Fair.
The piece I started making at the beginning of the film accidentally broke when it was dry. So I started again with another piece in recognition that breakages are part of the process.

Craig thanks for sharing 👍Your work inspired me 🤗
Great job!
Great work!!
Thank you for showing your process - loved seeing all your pieces on your stand - the larger pieces look fab outside. I am currently doing a Portfolio course at college part time and have really caught the ceramic bug! I have learnt loads watching your videos and how you evaluate the pieces when they are finished. Thank you 😊
Very interesting to watch your process! Thank you for sharing this!
totally feel your process - same same as me! Enjoy your videos, thank you so much!
Fantastic at the show! Congrats!
Beautiful commentary. Really liked the way you dealt with the mishap.
Thanks for watching, I thought that disaster had also ruined my film, but then I thought it’s part of the making process so it should be included.
...I call it "bellying out..." hope you don't mind?! Love your work!
...wondering ? did you use your phone or? to film the closeups of the surface? This is beautiful camera work, I so appreciate it! Lovely!
Yes, just used phone and iPad. Glad you like it. Thanks for watching.
When to know to stop adding decorations? I have made a piece and I think it is too busy 😅
Leaving space is important for me.
The manganese and copper oxide finish inside is applied after the first firing and is indeed lightfast.
I am pleased you like what I do.
@@CraigUnderhill7 Thanks so much☺️
...oh so sad but I'll follow you to where you're going and we'll see alright?
